Feeling his hand on her chin she smiled as she excepted his kiss. Her hand moving up to his bare chest. She could feel the love yet the struggle. They were at a breaking point in their relationship and it was all due to her father. She knew that Haden did blame her for any of the doubt they felt but it was still pulled forward because she'd trusted the man. Hearing his words she nodded smiling that she'd get to see more of him then she had the past few weeks. She knew a lot of that was due to her being stubborn. But he needed his space just as much as she did. So when he phased she stepped back smiling at him, though letting her hand run through his fur when he rubbed up against her leg. "Be safe out there." She told him, knowing the last time he'd been in his wolf form he'd gotten hurt and that scared her. Watching him fade, she sighed and turned and headed into their house. She wasn't ready for this yet and it bugged her. She'd been so good at everything else so it shouldn't be this hard to focus her mind and block every one out. But it wasn't a one way street, and it was so much information about each and every member in the pack, even her sister. The one thing that had bugged her was seeing everything she'd been through from the pack. The day she'd been attacked and Jake killed the man. She couldn't help but focus on that one the most. It was a thing she'd always done to protect her sister from. And it broke her heart she'd had to go through that. Blocking out her thoughts she moved around her and Haden's bedroom grabbing him a pair of sweats before taking them out to the back porch. She knew he didn't have any clothing so he'd want some for when he shifted back. Then she headed up stairs for bed. Not that she really wanted to sleep but it was the only way to quite her mind.
A soft growl left his lips when he felt her hands teasing him. He loved how bold she'd become, though it made him anxious to get their clothing off. Placing kisses along her neck and shoulders he started to drag the straps of her bra down, glad she'd already done most of the stripping for him. A soft smirk pulled at his lips when he felt her fumble with the button on his pants. But he didn't stop his actions, moving to expose her breast. Stealing a glance at her he took her perked nipple into his mouth. A soft smirk played on his lips as he watched her face show her pleasure. While he toyed and teased her nipple he let his hand moved down her body to core. Feeling her arousal soaking though her panties he drug his fingers up the fabric making sure he connected with her clit and giving it a rub before pulling his hand back. Standing up he quickly grabbed the fabric that was blocking his path and pulled it down her legs. While he was standing there he removed his own pants and boxers before taking his place back on top of her. "You're so fucking beautiful." He told her, placing a kiss to her lips, while his hand returned to between her legs. Spreading her folds while letting his digit run the length of her opening. He knew he was teasing but loved the way her body reacted to the pleasure. Knowing he couldn't take much more he used this chance to line himself up and push the tip of his dick into her. Retracting it he put the head back in, doing it over and over, before he couldn't take it any more and sheathed himself deep into her.

Haden remembered Laney's words as he moved through the forest on high alert. As they got to the edge of their territory he was pleased that there was no trace left of the other pack. They had all followed their leader and left at Avery and Laney's instruction. He relaxed some and turned to his pack greeting them. It had been a while and he knew they were glad to have him back. Please go and rest. He said knowing he would take the first watch. He would take until he was worn out guarding his pack. Haden watched as they dispersed at his command though some with a little reluctance. He could feel their worry for him. They did not want him to work to hard just because of his guilt. He was sure they would be back sooner rather than later to receive him but they left and went home to sleep. He felt them all go and rest one by one clicking off until all that was left was the intensity from Jake and the ever present hum of his mate in whatever state she was in as he stalked through the forest. He used the time to plan and to listen to the forest. He had believed it would provide for them. Just outside their territory he could sense the pack, they seemed docile currently but he was just going to keep watch over it. Haden knew there was so much to do and Avery would give him an earful tomorrow but he would deal with her later, she would need some comfort now that Laney had joined the pack she would feel like the only outsider and that could become problematic if he did not keep and eye on it and help Jake to notice her subtle ways.
Avery shivered feeling his hands slowly taking their time dragging the remainder fo her cloths off. She moaned as he took off her bra and looked at her like she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in the entire world. Avery moaned arching as he took her nipple into his mouth. His hands tantalized her as they ran down her skin to her panties teasing the warmth that he created making her feel wild. She sat up watching him as he dragged the cloth down her legs his lips trailing down her inner thigh as he want. She looked up at him panting her eyes wild as she watched him undress. Avery bit her lip moaning as his body brushed hers as he lowered to her. She moaned andiron her hands up his chest as his hands ran back down making her squirm. Avery moaned his name before kissing him back loving that he saw her as beautiful and told her so. She squirmed and arched as he teased her. He pulled back and thrust into her. she gasped loudly as her arms came around him holding him close to her as her teeth nibbled at his shoulder then up his neck. He made her arch as his tip teased her before he was fully inside of her. She felt completely overwhelmed with her love and desire for him she could almost cry from it. Her breathing was irregular and she clung to him never having felt it this intense between hem before. "Jake, Jake, Jake." she whipped his name until he looked at her and she kissed him. Her desperation was clear as her hands became greedy and she wrapped her legs around him not wanting to be but a couple inches away from him. "I need you. Jake." she moaned before her lips found his again. Aery moved with him as they began to make love. She pressed her forehead to his her eyes closed as she whimpered tears rolling down her cheeks at the intensity of her feelings and their love. "Don't let go, don't stop." she begged him. Her body was on a completely different level and it floated and his touched singed her skin. Avery was beautifully raw from their love and she didn't want it to stop.

Laney woke her eyes searching the dark, Haden still hadn't come back yet. And she wasn't tired any more. Sighing she pulled herself from bed before heading down the stairs and out the back door. Stripping out of her clothes she folded them and placed them next to the pants, then headed into the woods. After going enough in she quickly phased. The moment her paws hit the ground images started to flood her mind. Doing her best to fight through them and not focus on any particular moment. Breathing out a sigh her back legs gave away and she sat. Pulling in deep breaths she closed her eyes. Blackness meet her and it was like silence filled her finally. Focusing on the nothingness she opened her eyes, finally feeling free of all the burdens of the past. Getting back to her feet she staggered lightly before finding her footing and taking off. It wasn't long before she caught Haden's scent and she followed it. The packs paw prints met her before she noticed her mate just a bit in the distances. She could see his movements had picked up a bit, she knew he she was there but he was set on making her chase him. Digging her paws in the dirt she took off after him, catching up with him was a bit of a problem at first. As soon as she'd pushed faster so would he, it wasn't till they were on their third lap that she finally caught up to him. She wasn't sure if he let her or not, but soon she had blown past him. Just letting herself feel free and run.
A moan left his trembling lips, his body screamed with pleasure. Placing his forehead against hers he closed his eyes doing his best to enjoy her body. He could feel their bond and how strong it had grown. But he was trying not to focus on it and push it a side as he just enjoyed making love to her. He knew that playing into it would only serve to push him over the edge and he wasn't quite done with her just yet. Moaning out he buried his face into her neck, pressing lazy kisses along her shoulder and collarbone. Letting his body drive his movements, he knew that no matter what he did his actions were meant to please both of them. Hearing her pleas he couldn't help but smile as he could feel both their pleasure. "God I love you." He panted out, his free hand moved across her body to stroke the side of her breast, lightly brushing her nipple, before his hand molded around the swell. Gently massaging at first, but more urgently as his body quivered from the sensation draw from the warm friction of her pussy. His body moving more urgently, thrusting harder.

Haden had seen Laney and as much as he wanted to go to her he had other things to consider as well. He started slow so she would follow and started to move around the parameter of their land. He could feel her back there as he ran so he didn't slow, didn't look back. It was when he felt her enjoyment that he stopped watching her run past. He loved how she had run ahead as the freedom in her wolf form finally kicked in. He felt relieved that her wolf was starting to be released. It would bring her some peace and in turn peace to his pack. He followed behind her slower letting his pace slow them until they were running together as part of the pack and it brought him so much joy. He sniffed the boundaries as they went. It was a while later as he came up beside her and nuzzled and licked her snout making a soft noise signaling to take a break just as they got to the river. He moved closer and started to lap up water his front paws in the cool current.
Avery moaned as his hands moved over her breasts, his lips tracing her neck and his cock pounding her pussy making her call out in pleasure. She arched as her orgasm started to rise. She dug her nails into his back and ran her hands down his back. Avery screamed out as her orgasm ripped through her causing her body to convulse in pleasure. She gasped his name as her body shuttered releasing all the tension and love she had been holding inside of her pint up waiting for him to release it from within her. Avery clung to Jake as she peppered kisses over his neck and shoulder. "I love you Jake." she whispered to him holding onto him moving with him desiring to bring his own pleasure to meet with her own high from their love making. Avery ran a hand into his hair pulling tenderly as she gently bit at his neck whispering how much she loved Jake and needed him right now because she always needed him, she loved him and he was her mate.

Laney felt herself relax before slowing to a trot, allowing herself to fall back into step with Haden. She'd had her fun and now she wanted to spend time with her mate. When he stopped however she didn't want to but she knew he'd have his reason. And he had been out the entire night watching, so she wouldn't protest. And she couldn't help but roll her eyes when he licked her snout. It was different for her. She wasn't sure what to call it, but her wolf loved it and basked in it. Following him down to the river she sat and watched as he drank from it. Her eyes fitting to the other side as she had earlier that day. She half expected to find some wolf standing their, but was met with the nothing but forest. Stepping close to the watered she started to drink from it. Stepping back once she was done, waiting for him. It made her feel a bit odd having to wait for him, though she knew it was part of being a pack. Then agian she had no clue what to do even if she wasn't part of the pack. She'd never done anything like this before so she was learning on the fly. But she definitely knew where the perimeter was, and wondered if they were really going to leave this place. And if he was that worried about her father attacking. She didn't believe he was capable of being that heartless. But she'd been proven wrong when he tried to pull her from Haden. And the hatred Avery had for him would only grow more if he ever tried to hurt this pack. As she made it perfectly clear this was her family, now.
Jake panted out feeling her orgasm wash over her, he could only close his eyes and tuck his head. The way her walls constricted had his pleasure increasing. Moaning out his felt his own orgasm burst forth. Feeling like every muscle in his body tensed, his mind clouded, it was like he could only focus on the sensations in his shaft. The way his balls tightened as they emptied, the rush of his cum as it felt like a never ended fountain. Panting he dropped down on her letting his face bury in her neck. He could already feel his body trying to pull him under. Though it his mind was fighting as he could still feel the pulsating pleasure in lower region. And that was just enough to keep his hips lazily moving, prolonging the sensation. "Fuck." He sighed knowing if he didn't stop now he'd be ready to do it all over agian shortly. Pulling out of her he rolled over, lazily looking at her he smiled sheepishly. He'd really lost it there for a bit, only playing into his own pleasure. "You're amazing, you know that." He told her, loving the woman next to him. He didn't know how he'd gotten so lucky to have someone as perfect as her.

Haden turned to Laney as he finished drinking. He could feel her mind spinning thinking of her father and he wished he could help her but her father was something she would have to deal with a lone, that being said she would never be truly alone now and all she had to do was ask for help. Haden walked over to her and rubbed his snout against hers until his chest met hers and he hung his head over her shoulder a moment. Haden then walked back onto the path looking at her. They could run or walk if she liked and he nodded towards the tree line giving her the option with a little snort. He knew the would have some time before the others came back. He was thinking a little play would do her some good so he crouched down his tail wagging up in the air. He yelped and made a playful snarp sound. Haden smiled at her with his wolf teeth. He was really hoping that here soon they would hunt together but before all that came play right? That is what pups did and she asked for slow so he would try it that way.
Avery hummed rolling over and cuddling into Jake. She smiled and closed her eyes as he spoke to her. She grinned and let her body relax. She was completely exhausted. She had never felt anything as intense as that before. She didn't think it possible to cry while making love. She yawned and kissed his chest. "So are you my love." she whispered loving how warm he was next to her naked body. Avery could feel the way their bodies mashed together after the intense love making and she was glad it hadn't been just her that had lost it all. "I never thought there would be something like this for me Jake. Thank you." she sat up a little resting her head on her hands as she looked up for him. "I realized something." she admitted. "It shouldn't matter what the pack thinks of me becoming a wolf. As much as I love them I am not part of the pack yet, but I am your mate. So it matters what you think. I think this is a decision we should make together Jake." she said bitting her lip because she had a feeling what he was going to say. She knew the war that came with the choice for both of them. Maybe they could help each other by being partners on this choice as well. Of course she wanted to talk with Haden and Laney still, separately and get their takes because they would be her alphas but ultimately Jake's opinion weighed more than everyone else.

Laney walked away from the water, lagging behind Haden like it was natural. Her mind was still reeling over the past. But she stopped when all thoughts left her mind when play ran out. Her eyes swiftly moved to Haden a soft bark like laugh felt from her snout. She wasn't sure where it had come from but seeing her mate hunched over and trying to be playful was the last thing she expected. Deciding she'd give into his wants she crouched down before she pounced on him. Her wolf taking over as it started to enjoy the moment. Playfully snapping and pawning at Haden. She knew this was an opportunity she'd most likely never get again. Them being alone and just hosting around.
Jake peered down at her, "you don't have to thank me love." He sighed out, his body finally relaxing from his high. He rested back into the bed content and hoping to get some rest. But wasn't surprised when Avery started talking about her becoming a wolf. He felt himself tense up a bit when she told him she wanted him to help decide when she would be change. "Baby, it's nobody but your decision." He told her. "And I could never ask you to change for me." He told her honestly, of course she'd have to change if she ever wanted to have babies as he wasn't sure if a human body could carry wolf offspring. And he wasn't going to take any chances with her either. "If this is really something you want to do then I'll support your decision." He bit his lip not knowing if this was what she wanted to hear from him. "I mean I'm honored and thrilled that you'd even consider wanting to change, it means so much to me that you want to do that for me. But this should be about what you want, not me, not the pack, you're decision. They can't support it or shut up."

Haden playfully growled as he let her tackle him his mouth tugging at her ear. He had more purpose in this than just horsing around. Play was something pups did to learn about their bodies and how to hunt and work as a team. It was something that was easy and natural but truly at the heart was training, on the other hand he wanted to enjoy his mate and playing was something they could do. He pounced up and nippled at her paws before running a ways and turning on her, pawing at her. Haden also knew if she was thinking about this she wasn't thinking about other things. They were heading back towards camp their shift almost over. Haden still would keep an eye out on the parameter but it had been so quiet so far he was not worried about a retaliation tonight.
Avery sighed as he told her no. She nodded and leaned into him kissing his cheek. "Sometimes I feel like there are two parts of you with two different answers." she admitted and leaned up kissing him. She loved that he always told her the truth but also told her to trust herself. It meant so much to her. She knew it was dangerous for the pack and her to remain human but still he gave her to option to stay human because he was right she never would have even thought about becoming a wolf before him. But them that had to do with her sister and father as well didn't it? Avery bit her lip playing her head on his chest knowings he was only feeling pressure from all this because Laney had finally joined the pack now she was the only screw up in the pack and it stung somewhere with her follow the rules inner heart. Avery wished this decision was as easy as mating with Jake when it came time for it to actually happen for them but the truth was she had to decide what kind of a life she wanted and what she would have to face with whatever decision that was. She had no more strength left for the thought tonight. "I love you Jake... always." She said and closed her eyes ready for the rest to finally take over.

Laney huffed out when he took off running from her, and she couldn't help but lung after him. A surprised yelp left her snout as he turned on her, catching her off guard. That was it, she was getting serious now. He wasn't pulling a fast one on her now, and just when she started to pounce on him. His eyes darted away from her, halting her in her step. She knew that this was just a distraction for her, and it had worked. But he was letting his guard down on purpose, and it wasn't any fun if she knew he wasn't truly into it with her. Huffing out she trotted along side him, her playfulness slipping. She was actually starting to get tired again. Though she still wanted to be here beside him. Using his distracted mind against him, she nuzzled her head against his. Letting her wolf do what felt natural, her head running down under his chin before she cuddled up to him, her body sliding under his chin as she rubbed herself up against him. She wasn't sure what it was that made her want to rub her body up against his, but it felt more intimate than licking his snout.
Jake couldn't help but let out a chuckle as she comment about him seeming like two different people. He didn't bother about answering her knowing that there was times he'd surprised himself and actually have a smart reply. But when it came to her, her health and happiness, he was always over thinking things and second questioning everything. Nothing would ever be good enough for her, even when she felt content with it he still felt something could always be better. It was stupid to think that way as the way they lived now held a lot of uncertainty. But the one thing he knew for sure was, if she wanted to become a wolf. It was solely her choice, and if anyone of his pack member made her feel guilty for not changing now he'd end them. It was simple, they'd been warned already that she wasn't ready. And no one was going to force her hand. He however didn't see anyone ever saying anything. Sure they may tease, but he did tell them to try not to. As Avery did take things offensively when it was meant as playful fun. So knowing how she'd feel about being told she was taking her time turning he could see it ending very badly. "I love you too, get some sleep baby." He told her, knowing they were both feeling tired. The day's effects were draining to say the least. He was a wolf and bounce back rather easily but he was exhausted.

Haden grinned as their playful match relaxed into a bonding moment. He could feel the wear of his mate and knew it was time to get replacements for their watch and tuck her into bed. His mind connected to one of his pack calmly walking them to come and relieve the watch. Haden was suddenly distracted when Laney's body started to rub against his. He dropped her head over her body as she passed under him feeling her tail caress against his snout before she turned again to him. She wasn't fighting fair here. This was very intimate and inviting. He never thought that he would see it from her in this form but as always Laney was surprising him. Haden let out a sound of desire. His wolf begged him to use this moment and make his pack larger with little wolves, the urge to mate was so strong but Haden just wanted to enjoy the intimacy with his mate. Haden nudged her snout with his own. 'Reinforcements are on their way let's go home, you need sleep.' Haden placed his head over her neck the fullness inside him filling him until he wanted to burst. Char and Kyle came trotting out of the woods and greeted the other couple with respect before taking over the watch. Haden grinned and told them to be safe before he lead Laney home. It was time to get some sleep. They got to the back door and he grinned seeing she left their cloths out and he shifted pulling on the pants she left for him. "Thanks babe." he said loving that she thought of that.
Avery smiled and let her eyes slowly shut with the weight of her exhaustion. She lay there her eyes closed curled up still naked against Jake. On one hand she knew he would never pressure her but she wished she would tell her what he wanted, what he saw her as in their future. She sighed and let the night finally take her into sleep not fighting it any longer. She was out and asleep until the morning came and she turned to the sun shinning in through the window. The season was starting to change and winter would be here sooner than she would like. Avery blocked out the sun before it woke Jake and smiled down at the man she considered her husband and bit her lip. He was so gorgeous and just looking at him made her stomach clench in desire. Avery frowned and dressed. She needed to catch Haden before the day began. She knew they both had a long night, his working and hers loving her mate but she needed to talk to him. Avery worked her way through camp pleased that it was still quiet. she slipped into Haden's house and put o their bedroom. She knocked softly and a moment later Haden opened the door looking tired and still half asleep. "I'm sorry to wake you." she said and Haden grinned. "You wouldn't if it weren't important." he said and pulled on a shirt and kissed Laney before stepping out. "Let's take a walk." he said seeing she needed to talk.

They walked through the forest silent and Avery looked down not knowing how to start. "Jake has a big mouth sometimes, he doesn't say the right things often but his is always honest, even when it hurts." he said and Avery smiled sadly at him. "You know?" she asked and Haden chuckled. "It was abound to come up especially after Laney joining the pack." Avery sighed and nodded looking back down and Haden put a hand on her arm squeezing it in a very brotherly reassuring way. She sighed and wrapped her arms around her. "I just don't know what to do. I want to be a part of the pack but I would never be good at just following directions when I believe there is still hope or a better way to do things. And... I'm afraid... I'm afraid of loosing my humanity." she frowned. Haden nodded listening and rubbed his neck. "I can't tell you what is the right choice. Jake is right on that one." He said and she deflated. "But," Avery stopped looking up at him. Haden stopped and looked down at Avery. "I can tell you that it is an alpha's job to know his pack, their strengths and weaknesses, their quirks and strong wills. Take Char for example. She has so many strong opinions. She's not easy to convince of anything outside of her comfort but I know why that is. She's protective of the life she has because at one point she didn't have one as good as this and she will do anything not to be put in a situation to hurt like that again." he said and Avery nodded. "So you're saying you will listen to me if I joined the pack." she said and Haden chuckled. "In more words yes, you are smart and have a heart of gold, it is a valuable asset in any case, I am not saying I will always do it your way but I will always listen and take it into consideration. For example I know conflict is not the way you want to resolve problems but sometimes a wolf needs to defend their territory and that gains the respect of their adversaries." Avery nodded. It helped to know he would take her character under consideration. She just didn't want to be in the middle of a power struggle and not able to be herself because she wasn't an alpha. Haden nodded. "Jake is your perfect mate Avery, he in many ways is very similar and I constantly have to earn his respect to prove my alpha. There are more ways to be alpha than by force. Force as an alpha, for me, is so little affective." Avery nodded and sighed feeling relieved on that. "As far as your humanity I understand your fear that we will be in wolf form all the time. It is easier and with you as a human it often brings us together in our human forms, and yes we do act differently as humans then as a wold pack. The dynamics change. I can't promise that we will take time to be human but it is always your option and Jake will feel your needs for it and he wants nothing else but to be what you need and to love you." he said. Avery smiled softly. "Thank you Haden." she said and they started to make a big loop back to camp. Haden nodded. "No matter what you choose Avery you are a valuable part of our group and we will be glad to have you." he said and Avery sighed and bit her lip. She didn't know what she was going to do but suddenly she felt the need to be alone and her heart ached because she finally understood her sister in the months before her joining the pack and her change. It was the pressure to make the right decision that being around company was just too much and suddenly she needed to talk to her sister. Haden nodded as they got to camp and he went to make breakfast as Avery headed up to her sister in her house and sat down in her bed tears in her eyes looking at her sister wondering if she could still read her like she use to.

Laney found herself distracted from her mate to the sound of paws on the earth. She knew by the feeling deep inside of her it was Char and Kyle. The irritation from the later was easy for her to tell. And as they made their way back home she caught a glimpse of them. Even though she was curious to see more, she couldn't help but follow after Haden. Just wanting nothing more than to crawl into bed with him. As they made their way out of the forest she couldn't help but feel a rather sleepy. A soft sigh fell from her lips as she phased back into her human form. Grabbing her discarded clothing and pulling them on. "Well I couldn't have you scaring anyone." She teased him, speaking about his sizable member. Though she knew his pack had seen more of him than she liked, but it was natural for the wolves to lose a bit of their modesty. As she walked up the stairs to their room she couldn't help the yawn that slipped from her lips. She wasn't sure how long she be able to sleep for. And it seemed that once her head hit the pillow she was out light a light.

Shifting in bed she groaned, before nudging the figure sitting on the edge of her bed with her foot. "Ass hat." She teased, thinking it was Haden sitting there. But the yelp that rang in her ears she knew it was her sister. "What the hell are you doing?" She asked grumpily, though she was far from angry. It was just weird her sister was sitting over her while she slept. A soft yawn left her lips as she stretched out on the bed. Sitting up shortly after, her eyes moving to look at her sister, before frowning. "What's the matter?" She asked wondering if she'd hurt her when she kicked her, she didn't think she'd done it that hard. But being a wolf now she wasn't sure how much of strength her sister's body could with stand. Moving quickly to her side she was afraid to touch her, but wanted to pull her into a hug none the less. "Are you okay?" She asked the later of the two winning out and she pulled her sister into her arms and holding her to her chest. It had been so long since she'd held her like this that she felt almost motherly doing it. But she couldn't focus on her own feelings as she needed to make sure her sister was okay.
(I didn't write Jake's part as I feel like if he woke up he'd go looking for Avery)

    [Just as well]

Avery let her sister hold her and cried into her. She hadn't realized how upset she was over all this until he was in her sister's arms. She let the tears flow until they dried up and then she sniffled and rubbed her eyes. "I'm okay... it's..." she didn't even know how to tell her sister what it was.

"I am sorry I didn't understand your struggle before you joined the pack." Avery said and burst out into tears again. She hugged her sister again and mumbled through her tears. "It's not easy to understand the pack and what part you will play in it or what it will be like, and if it will be right for you and how much you love the people inside of it but still don't know what to do. It's not easy to make the right decision and knowing that whatever you choose will have a lasting affect on everyone and yourself." She whimpered. "I don't know what to do!" she squeezed tighter knowing it wasn't going to hurt her. That was a nice thing about having a werewolf sister is her strength far outweighed her own.

Avery looked up at Laney hoping she had some words to help with all the confusion and chaos in her heart. Avery had always been a people pleaser so now when the decision mattered most she had to weigh her own desires to that of her desire to make others happy.

Avery looked up at her sister sitting back and rubbing the tears away hoping that she could keep them gone this time. Avery loved Jake but she needed answers she didn't think he could give her and she felt like she was on the verge of a decision and yet so far away. She knew Haden was wise and gave her options and answers only he could but it was her sister that knew her best and she prayed that she had something to say that would help her.

Laney sighed as she heard her sister’s apology, she’d not been aware of her sisters thoughts on the issue, beside her rant about their father. She however did feel like she was more supportive and had a clear view of things Laney didn’t. And she knew it helped her be able to make the decision to join the pack easier. “What was the advice you gave me when I was afraid to join the pack?” She asked her, she knew it might not be able to be twisted to meet her sisters situation, but none the less Jake loved her and would never allow her to be sad if he could help it. Pulling away from her she shook her head. “You should worry a lot less on everyone else, what does Avery want?” She smiled, “because it’s been hard changing our minds on wolves. There not all animal that should be put down, they really are people.” She shrugged lightly, “because if you would have told me a year ago I’d be a wolf, and happy about it, I’d have shot you point blank in the head.” She let out a laugh, because she never wanted this life but now that she knew what it could be like, she loved it all the more. “And honestly the old me would have never let you even think about becoming a wolf, I’d have tried to keep you human as long as I could. But your grown now and you don’t need me or anyone telling you how to live your life. And that’s still how I see it, even with Haden being the alpha I still get to do what I want when I want to.” She chucked lightly, “but if your really afraid of joining a pack, then think again because whether you know it or not your part of one.” She smiled.

“What you really are afraid of is the unknown, turning into a wolf is different for everyone, so all these worries and questions you have can’t be answered, and that scares you. You think you’ll not be good enough, but Avery as a human your good enough, so as a wolf you’ll good enough.” She told her firmly. “Beside what kind of teacher would I be if you weren’t good enough.” She jokingly teased, knowing that every thing Avery knew about surviving was taught to her by Laney. And the knowledge of health was a great asset but not needed. And if Laney was good enough to be in the pack her sister should be leading with her. “So what you really need to do is stop thinking and just do something. That doesn’t mean I’m telling you to go and have Jake bite you, but you can learn things as a human that will help you understand the wolf more. However I think nothing you do can really prepare you for this, because it’s so weird yet so amazing.”

Avery sighed as her sister tried to give her advice. What did Avery want? She had no idea because all she could think of was Jake and his happiness, she loved him so much and just wanted to give him everything. She was starting to think she needed to get out on her own for a little while and figure herself out now that everything was different. She had a choice to make and she knew she couldn't just wait around for it to suddenly happen or occur to her that it needed to happen, the problem wasn't that she couldn't see herself as a wolf in the future it was how long she would wait before she changed.

When Laney said she was already part of the pack she frowned. She didn't think that was true for everyone. Avery knew Haden and Laney felt that way but they were family though bonding and blood for Char and Penny and the boys she was a risk. Laney got one thing spot on as usual is that her sister was afraid of not knowing. She didn't know how to be a beta, she was use to being able to do her own thing, what she thought was right not what she was told or what someone else thought was right. She didn't understand the wolf culture and she didn't know who to ask. She would ask Jake but he was already feeling her emotions and was flustered. She needed someone with a cool head that would be honest and show her. She needed Char and that scared her because Char would be pushy and give her the truth in a way she had a feeling would hurt. Avery swallowed and made a decision on what she was going to do and Jake wasn't going to like it and neither was Laney. "Thanks Laney." She said and sighed hugging her sister again then letting her get up for the day as she left. She wondered out into the camp until she came up to Char. She bit her lip and kicked the back of her boot. "Char... can we... take a walk?" she asked and looked up at her.

They headed out onto a trail and Avery was quite for a while. "I have trying to go around this problem for a while but now that Laney has joined the pack... I have no more excuses. Now it is time to set a date and I am struggling with that because I don't know how to be a wolf. I tried asking everyone else around me to help me make this decision but no one can only I can and my sister suggested that even as a human I can learn about being a wolf." she looked up at char finally. "And you are the only one I could think of that would give it to me straight, honestly that scares me." she chuckled. "The one thing I am worried about most is being independent and loosing myself, my humanity because I join the pack as a beta. You are so strong willed, you must have struggled with something similar at one point though completely different of course. I..." she bit her lip not knowing how to continue and looked at Char hoping she could help.
Haden watched Avery and char walk out of the camp. that was a disaster waiting to happen. Avery was struggling hard with herself and the pack. He was concerned for her honestly and went to go see Jake. He knocked before slipping into the house. Haden found Jake and smiled. "Hey old friend." he said and took a seat next to him. "How are things?" he asked and could see his friend's mind working tryin to figure out why Haden was really here and he sighed. "What's going on with Avery?" He asked coming right out with it. Haden wanted to know how worried he should be about her and if Jake would need to be gone a few days here soon.

Jake awoke to the sound of footstep on the stairs. He’s brow furrowing as he looked around and Avery was missing. Though he didn’t have time to focus on that as his alpha was before him. He barely caught his words as he was still trying to wake up. “She’s worried about joining the pack.” He told him, knowing that it was a big issue losing ones independences, but what people don’t get is it’s not that. It’s like a village there can’t be ten leaders and thing run smoothly, you need one person who has everyone’s best interest and then let them lead while you stay in line. You don’t lose yourself, it’s like laws. Though he knew that some leaders had been dictators but an alpha could lose his pack if he was to hard on his group. “She’s just worried she won’t be a good wolf and she’ll lose her independences.” He knew that his alpha was worried about them both because now Avery was a part of Jake. He sighed knowing that he couldn’t change her mind or make things easier for her. However he loved her and would be patience until she was ready. Though when Haden told him Avery was off talking with Char right now, he reacted before he could think. He bolted from the room and down the stair before rushing out the back door. Once he was free of the house he phase on the go, his feet pushing him quickly through the thicket so he could find them and put an end to their conversation as he knew Char didn’t hold anything back. Once he had their scent his feet lead him up to them.
Char looked at the younger woman, before nodding at the thought of talking a walk. She stood walking along with the girl, her mind was jumble with thoughts of why she wanted to speak with her. After all she had pretty much everyone else in the pack that she could run to for her problems. But as the words feel from the little girls lips she could help the scoff that left her lips. “And you want me to tell you what? Quit fucking around with it and just do it?” She asked knowing that nothing anyone says prepares anyone for this life. Raising a brow she sighed before stopping and looking at her. “It’s not easy, but neither is being a human.” She sighed. Not know what or how she could put this to get it through this girls head. “If all your worries about is being in a pack then you really need to step back and think everything through. You lose more of yourself just by becoming a wolf, then joining a pack.” She shrugged. It wasn’t like her to give advice that didn’t pertain to suck it up. She however didn’t have a filter and was always the one everyone came to for advice. “And don’t try to compare yourself with others, I was attacked and damn near eaten, I wasn’t suppose to be a wolf but I fought them off and here I am now. Your lucky you don’t have to go through that, your lucky you get a choice. One I would have never chose. But Kyle he’s made it better for me then I can explain, all I can say is quit being baby and do it already or don’t because if your not ready now you never will be.”

Char heard his footsteps before she smelled him, but she knew he was there. And the growl that left his lips was enough to silence her. “And being honest you shouldn’t have to think about this, if you love your mate enough you’d do it with out any complaints.” She told her letting the true bitch out. She didn’t get to say more as there was a giant fur ball that planted itself between the two. Shaking her head She chuckled, “you make it to easy.” She told him before turning and heading back to camp. Leaving the two there to discuss what they needed to.

Avery frowned as Char was honest with her. Would she never be ready? Avery could take everything else but when Char said she would just do it if she loved Jake enough she looked really upset. Was it true that she didn't trust and love Jake enough and that was why she was struggling so hard with this. It didn't feel true but her heart ached and she looked down then up at Jake and sighed. She ran her fingers into his fur and looked him over. Her heart soared with the contact of his wolf. She loved him in any form, she knew she loved him as much as her human heart had room for. She frowned and hurried herself in his fur leaning into his big body. She sighed and closed her eyes. She knew Jake was probably going to say something about it but she needed to know what they though, she needed someone to get her outside of her head and Jake was so determined not to sway her that he wasn't helping her at all.

Avery stepped back after a while and bit her lip. "I know but I'm not sorry. I'm trying to make sense of this all because apparently I can't just wait to be ready." she rubbed her arms. Avery realized she was probably upset and it was showing. She bit her lip trying to think of what to say to make Jake understand. "I don't want to make you wait for an answer. It's not fair. I love you Jake as much as my little heart is capable of but..." she stopped and listening to her own knowledge knew what she had to do and no one would like it. "I need to step away for a while..." she said and could feel the shot of panic from him. Avery shook her head. "Jake please it's not like I am leaving you. I am your mate forever. I know it's probably silly but I consider myself your wife and I take that very seriously, just as much as being your mate. This isn't about us, at least not yet. What I am saying is... How am I suppose to determine what I am thinking and feeling when everyone keeps judging and I keeping asking for their opinions because they are there to ask and it is easier to ask them than it is to look inside myself. So I need to go on a solo trip for a while." she said and wondered if it was a bad idea to tell him all this before she left.

"I don't want you to come with me Jake. I don't want you to follow behind me. You are needed here. I will be fine on my own. I love you but I can't have you come or I will never have the space to ask myself what I want and you want me to make this decision myself then I need you to give me the space to do that. I need you to trust me to be on my own."
Haden sighed as Jake was out the door before he had a chance to say more and ran a hand through his hair. Haden headed back to his place walking in and seeing Laney awake and he grinned leaning in and kissing her deeply. "Morning love." he said. Haden knew that they had a busy morning and so much to talk about with Avery. She was freaking out and he didn't think it would end well. "Are you hungry?" he asked her. Haden stood upright again and offered his hand to her.

Haden was really wanting to get this Avery situation solved but he knew that there was nothing anyone could really do about it. He just hoped that for Jake's sake that the didn't completely freak out and try to take some risky move that would just be bad for everyone in general. He had a bad feeling though the longer that this went on. He could feel it in the air.

Haden walked over to the window opening it and looking out at the camp in the middle of the houses. He rubbed the back of his neck. He didn't know what it as about his pack and him as an alpha that was so hard for Laney and Avery to accept. He wanted to be right for them. He wanted the pack to be right for them. He could only imagine how hard it would be for Jake. Jake was loyal to the pack but he was mated to Avery and she was having a hard time with all of this. Haden sighed and looked over at Laney. "Do you think she will come around?" he asked nervously.

Everything blurred as his fast movement pushed him further into the depth of the forest. A soft growl rang out reminded him to remain focused. But lately it wasn't easy for him to even get out of bed. His mind, heart and soul was miles away from him and he couldn't help but feel betrayed and hurt by her choice to leave. No matter how brief or long her time away from him was, it still felt like years. And lately his life had been routinely planned for him, as if he had his wish he'd be out looking for his mate. But instead of he got glimpse of her from his pack members minds. Partly due to his own fault but he was trying to do his best and give her her way. She wanted this and now he was suffering for it.

Stopping he looked around letting his eyes sweep the area for any danger, or signs of life. His eyes locked in on the wolf foot prints that littered the ground, knowing he was just out side of camp and it was signs of his pack members. Part of him hated seeing the prints and missed seeing the boot prints, as it seemed like no one bother to be in their human form any more. It reminded him of the times before Avery and how he was happy being a wolf. But now he hated that part of him and knew that it wasn't anything he could change. She chose to leave him and he couldn't understand why either. But he let her go even though he didn't want to. And it put a strain on him and his pack, he'd even had thoughts of leaving his pack and going rouge. But he was talked out of it by Haden as he knew that the man was right. He needed to let her make up her own mind, he just wished she would have done this before she chose to mate with him.
Laney pushed herself harder and further away from camp. She and Kyle had been out tracking movement of a pack of deer, they'd been keeping an eye on it as they were going to need meet before long. But she'd been away from camp for a few days now, she'd be delaying the talk of moving. Seeing as Avery was still off and dealing with her own issues. It wasn't something she could understand. But she knew the pressures on her were getting to her and honestly Laney couldn't baby her anymore. She had to face life on her own right now, and any decision she made Laney would support. However she did have a few moment where she wanted to rip into her sister. Nights were the worst, Jake would sleep out side his own house on the porch, like he was a common mutt waiting for it's owner to return. And most night's he wouldn't sleep, his thoughts would wake her up. So she wouldn't sleep in her wolf form anymore. Even when she was away from the pack she'd still rather sleep in her human form.

Though her time with the pack things were getting better, it was less of a challenge for her to be a leader. Though they were short a person, they spent less time dealing with the basic human needs. Though every once in a while they all gather around a fire and chill for the night just remembering how good it was to be a human. And they were due for a night agian. However she didn't see them getting back in time for dinner. And if she was lucky she'd get to see Haden tonight. As they'd all been doing their best to scout and hunt, that they weren't all together. She signaled to Kyle they were going to just head home, they'd lost the track about a mile ago, meaning they'd either pick it back up tomorrow or end up trying to find something else. But they weren't going to be able to put off leaving to much longer. As soon as the hog was gone they were lucky and found the herd of deer. But it seemed like they'd moved off now. So it was only a matter of time before they couldn't wait. And when she meet up with Avery in a few days she'd have to explain the situation to her, and hope she was ready to return or at least leave travel with them to a new location.

"Jessie!" Avery laughed and hit his arm as they walked through the square. they had been roaming around closer and closer towards her meeting place for the past couple days. They had taken a bike out a couple days ago and it landed them a bit farther away than they had expected when the gas ran out. It was the spontaneity that Avery needed. She had been so caught up in the routine and the order that she had needed the freedom that traveling brought. It was easy when you didn't need to provide for an entire pack. Things were easy with Jessie. He was a good friend. They had become friends fast.

When they had first ran into one another they where both understandably cautious. They had both been through so much and neither of them talked about the wolves. It seemed to be their unspoken rule and Avery was just fine with that. Though when Avery would toss and turn at night calling for Jake, Jessie would wake her and one night he asked who Jake was. Avery explained he was the love of her life but things were complicated that his family wanted her to be something she wasn't ready to be yet. She wanted to be that for them but it came with so much responsibility she didn't think she could handle it. She didn't want them to think she was rejecting them she just wanted her independence was all. Jessie had his own things. He couldn't go into a building without seeing the exit first so they would always circle buildings before going it. It wasn't a bad habit really. They had connected on the fact that they where both alone and freezing. She had the lighter and he had the wood. They had shared food making a meal and became easy friends after that. Jessie and Avery had been traveling together at least a couple weeks. The time was all blurring together with no need to follow any routine or follow any leadership.

Avery thought back on her last meeting with her sister. She had asked how Jake was and at the look her sister had given her she regretted it. She had asked her sister to tell him she missed him and that she was coming back to him she just didn't know when. Laney had not said she would tell him but Avery really hoped that she would remind him she would come back to him always at least. She could feel his pain with her gone. She saw him in her sleep. Sometimes she thought he didn't sleep just to her sleeping mind would connect more closely with his. Avery knew what was happening back in the pack but she was trying to keep her mind off of it. She still couldn't see a way for herself to join the pack. She liked her independence to much and she didn't want to put them all in the situation with her being a rouge trailing with them because of Jake and she could never ask Jake to leave them, that was his family. then there was the entire thing about her liking to be in her human form. It would slow up the pack and use resources the couldn't really afford.

"Avery..." Jessie's voice cute through her thoughts and she looked up at Jessie with sorry sad and distant eyes. "Sorry Jessie." She said and he put a hand on her arm. "Sometimes I wonder where you go all the sudden." he said and she grinned gently. "Somewhere I will eventually have to face." Jessie nodded. "I hope that it will be a good place that will put joy in your eyes not sadness." he said and Avery bit her lip blushing looking down. "There is a lot of joy there, that is why it is so hard. I have always thought I was good at change and good at knowing myself and where I belong but I have just been feeling suffocated by the rules and structure that it takes to be in my little group. I want freedom and the ability to be myself." Jessie nodded. "Sounds complicated." Avery laughed and nodded. "That's an understatement." she said and took his hand pulling him forward again. "Come on let's get some lunch." she said and let his hand go as Jessie started to walk. She could see it in his eyes sometimes be was envious of Jake but he knew that her feelings where too strong he would never be able to sway her away from him, not for a moment.
Haden had been spending all his time with Jake. The only time he left him is when he gave his nightly command to stay. Haden hated this. Every moment trying to distract Jake, to wear him down so maybe he would sleep so the rest of them didn't have to hear the pinning all night long. Haden had tried everything. He had even tried to convince him to go see Avery last check in but Jake just couldn't. Haden understood the lack of control and if it was Laney he wouldn't be able to let go. Avery had snuck off in the middle of the night after a long conversation with him. Which he had kept Laney in on of course. With some modifications to her plan he had helped her keep Jake here at camp so he wouldn't follow her.

Haden understood Avery's need for some space to think, to determine who she was but he just wished it didn't come at such a cost for Jake. Avery didn't want the pack to suffer with her and Jake's loss and he couldn't deny the need for Jake. He just couldn't let him go for an indeterminate amount of time. When Jake had pleaded and threatened and about came unglued Haden had used every tool in the book but the only one that truly worked was this was her choice, her plan. He had to trust her even now and that was the hardest thing.

Haden was having his own struggles with Laney being so far away. He wanted nothing nut to be close to her. He wanted to be on the hunt with her. To bring back the deer. He wanted to use their combined abilities to hunt and track to bring success to the pack but he had to be with Jake. Haden was really hoping that with their impending move Avery would be ready to join them, or at least follow behind. He knew Laney would be going to see her soon.

    {It's good to me :)}

Jake sighed as he dropped down on the ground, he didn’t even bother going inside this time. Laying there he could feel his eyes growing heavier. Just basking in the sun while he didn’t do anything. He was tired sure but he didn’t want sleep. And he knew that he’d been fighting it for so long now he could stop it from creeping up on him. And it wasn’t long before the mumbled thoughts of his pack were completely drowned out and he was a sleep. Sleeping peacefully for the first time since Avery left him.
Laney turned her and Kyle back toward camp knowing they were returning home empty handed. Everything’s gonna be alright. She heard Kyle think, she just hoped he was right. I need something to go right today. She thought letting her frustration poor out. She knew she was tired and over worked and worrying about the stupidest of things. And it was causing her focus to waver, but she did her best to push through. Slowing her pace she stopped, looking around. Something didn’t feel right, she knew she’d been distracted but didn’t think that the tracks would have just stopped and not picked back up somewhere else. Look over there. She told Kyle before she put her snout to the ground, sniffing as she went. Her nose guiding her feet off the path and deeper into the woods. Letting her eyes scan the area she froze as her eyes locked on to a moose. She’d gotten to close without spooking it. Kyle. She called the other wolf to get in position. She quickly thought up a plan that wouldn’t cause any danger to the two of them, but it would require precise movements. I got you, was all she managed to hear before a loud snarl emitted into the air. The moose spooked and it hadn’t noticed her, lunging at the animal she caught its neck sinking her teeth into the fatty tissue before she starts shaking her head, a loud crack rang out as the moose when limp. She watched as it dropped to the ground, panting heavily she smiled happy that no one got hurt this time. Memories of when Haden had been spear ran through her mind, causing her to miss Avery all the more. Lets get this beast home, Kyle said his wolf jumping around doing its best to distract her from her thoughts. Rooting her self under its hind hunches she lifted up allowing Kyle to slide under and support its upper half. The faster they got home the better.

Avery was sitting with Jessie up on a billboard snacking on some food. Avery sat on the edge kicking her feet back and forth. Jessie sat back towards the board. He put on a brave face but every time she started to climb he looked up at her with that, really again why do we go all the way up there, look. He gave it every time before he climbed the ladder behind her. She looked back at Jessie as they finished eating. "Well ready? I need to start heading up towards my meeting place with my sister but I thought we might stop by the docks and pick up some supplies I can bring back to them. Jessie nodded. "Yeah that sounds like a plan." he said and started towards the ladder. Avery got up and followed him.

They where walking on the docks looking at the big ships still standing. She half wondered if they still worked. How did the wolves create such a wold wide mess. Could it ever be fix it? Could even a portion of the world go back to some kind of civility? She just didn't see a way. That was the problem with violence was that it always found a way to pop up where ever there was peace. Avery was wondering through the docks when she heard it. It was low but it snapped her out of her thoughts. Her hand tightened on Jessie's hand. She swallowed hard looking at him. His eyes met hers and frowned as she didn't smile back. "Hey what's..." Avery pressed a finger to his lips. "Let's check this one She said and they walked over to the loading dock of a near by ship. She heard the nails and didn't bother looking back before breaking out into a run. She pulled Jessie with her. They rounded the corner on the ship and nearly ran into a wolf. Avery stopped panting. She looked into its amber eyes before her eyes darted around. She then ran to the wall and threw down the air tank. It burst open causing a white smoke to go up and Avery grabbed Jessie's arm running. They ran up the stairs and Avery turned the corner seeing the captain's corners. "There Jessie!" she yelled and they ran for it so fast her legs screamed. She made it in and looked back for Jessie. He was just about to make it in when a wolf jumped over the deck and grabbed not Jessie's leg. Jessie screamed and Avery gasped. She looked around grabbing the nearest hard object and tossing it at the wolf. It hi it's eye making it yelp and let go of Jessie.

Avery pulled Jessie in and was slamming the door shut as the wolf launched against the door. She screamed and turned using her legs trying to close the door as the wolf snarled and snapped close to her face. She knew the door wouldn't hold well anyways but it would give them a chance. Jessie tossed his body against the door and it slammed shut. Avery pulled a cabinet in front of it letting it slam down and spill all it help but it kept the door closed.

Avery looked around panic making her surroundings dull and blurry but she forced herself to focus. She went over to another door and looked inside at the radio room. It would have to do. She looked out the windows at the far end of the cabin and she prayed that if she had any connection to Jake he would hear her desperate cry for him. "Jake I need you. Help me." she said softly and then turned picking up Jessi and getting him into he room. She grabbed whatever she could find that might help them. Once she had everything she sealed them into the radio room with he door pushing everything in from of it before turning to Jessie. "Let me see it." she said and Jessie pulled up his pant leg and hissed in pain. They where lucky the bite hadn't hit any big arteries. Avery set to work on cleaning and bandaging Jessie's leg.
Haden could feel when Laney was close to camp. He knew she couldn't stay long because she had to go and meet up with Avery but man he was glad she was back. Haden could feel her excitement. She had caught something. He grinned and slipped out of the house. It was still early. His feet hit the dirt and he shifted as he headed out to meet up with his mate and pack. He ran through the woods until he reached his mate and smiled as he saw her in all her beautiful glory carrying the back help of a moose. He barked in excitement to see her and ran towards her. Haden brushed his nose to hers then came around and helped her and Kyle carry the moose closer into camp as Char came out and greeted her mate as well.

They got the moose into camp and set it up so they could deal with i later. Haden turned to Avery and pressed his head to hers. I missed you my love. Haden connected to her mind and licked her ear before rubbing his head over hers. He did not know how he had breathed a moment without her. Haden suddenly felt like his world was complete with here here beside him.
