she's kinda hot though.

"I'm tellin' ya, Jess, Mikey has a thing for you." Calum said, causing the petite blonde to roll her eyes. She'd lost count of how many times she'd heard this whole spiel, and, going off of that, it was fairly obvious that she heard it rather frequently. It was absolutely ridiculous though, why would he act like such an arsehole towards her if he liked her? This wasn't elementary school, there weren't any swings for him to push her off of, or pigtails to be pulled. They were both young adults, therefore, if he actually did like her, which she highly doubted was the case, he should grow a pair and tell her to her face. "Yeah, because being a total shitbag towards me totally gives off the vibe that he likes me. You're so right, Cal." She scoffed, stealing a fry off of his plate and popping it into her mouth. "If he likes me so much, maybe he should try being nice to me for once in his life."
"Or, ya know, he could always grow a pair." Luke chimed in, leaning back in the booth they were all seated in. They'd invited Michael to come along with them, but the moment he found out Jessa was going to be there, he turned down the offer. Luke honestly didn't understand why though. Whenever she wasn't around, he didn't act like a dick. In fact, he would make comments about how pretty she looked that day or that the shirt she was wearing brought out her eyes or some shit like that. And to think that he thought his relationship with Claire was a bit complicated at times, though that was an entirely different story all together. "My sentiments exactly, Lucas!" Jessa said, grinning slightly. "Calum's right though, Jay. Mikey does like you. He was talking about how pretty you looked the other day when you left." This caused the blonde to groan. "I don't understand why guys say we're the complicated ones." She said, directing her comment towards Claire, the only other female amongst the group at the moment.

Mikey pushed his fingers through his hair letting out a sigh. He'd thought now that they weren't on tour he'd be able to hang out with just the guys, but of course, they'd wanted to invite Jessa out. And it wasn't that he hated Jessa, even if he made it seem like he did all the time. He didn't. There honestly were very few people in the world that he could say he hated or at least felt a very strong dislike towards, but Jessa wasn't one of them. And yes it was probably really stupid to act like he didn't like her when she was around but for whatever reason he felt like that was a better idea than letting her know what he really felt. Plus by now he was sure even if he did tell her that he liked her she'd punch him or something, and she probably hated him so it wasn't like it even mattered. Really though why would he tell her that he liked her if she just hated him anyways?
Claire didn't think she could've agreed more with Jessa. "Right!" She said shaking her head, "It seems pretty obvious to me that guys are way more complicating than girls. I mean I've never made it seem like I hate a guy when I actually I really like him." She said pretty sure everyone would agree that pretending to hate someone when you like them is the dumbest idea ever. "Maybe he just needs someone to knock some sense into him because clearly any sense that he might've had is gone." She added wanting to believe that Michael did like Jessa, even though he always made it seem like the complete opposite every time he saw her. Michael and Jessa's weird relationship though was kind of the least of her worries. She did want both her friends to be happy, and she did wish that if Michael liked Jessa he would just tell her instead of being a total arse to her. But honestly she couldn't help but be more worried about her own complicated relationship with Luke. Yes he made her so happy, and she loved him, but being his secret completely sucked.

"Moral of the story boys, if Michael likes me, kindly tell him to grow a pair and just tell me or to fuck off altogether." Jessa said, stealing another fry off of Calum's face, causing the bassist to send a slight glare her way. He only received a wide grin in response though. "Why don't you text him and see if he's sure he doesn't want to hang out with all of us." Ashton suggested, causing Jessa to roll her eyes. "How about no?" She sassed. She wasn't going to text him. No. Nope. Wasn't going to happen. She refused. If he liked her, he'd grow up and realize that acting like a child wasn't getting him anywhere. The funny part about this whole thing was that Jessa honestly thought he was rather attractive. If he wasn't such an arsehole towards her all the time, she might actually act on it.
"Jay, this is Mikey we're talking about here. He can be a bit of a pussy at times, don't tell him I said that though. If anything's going to happen, you're going to have to initiate it or whatever." Luke told the blonde. Maybe he shouldn't be giving relationship advice to people when his own relationship was complicated enough as it was, but he was just trying to help his friends work things out. He knew that he and Claire had some things to work out, granted no one really knew about their relationship, but that was besides the point. They'd figure things out, and that's exactly what he wanted Jessa and Michael to do. "If you aren't going to text him yourself, I'll text him for you." He reached across the table to grab her phone, though the blonde grabbed his arm before he could. "I'll bite you, Hemmings." She said, shooting a look his way. "See? You and Mikey would be perfect for each other!" Jessa groaned. "You guys are impossible." She hid her face in her hands.

Michael wasn't sure why he was so stubborn, he didn't really understand why he couldn't just suck it up and tell Jessa the truth. He also had no clue why every time they asked him to go out with them he'd say no as soon as he knew Jessa would be there. It wasn't like he actually hated her after all. Though at this point he wouldn't be shocked if Jessa actually hated him for how long he'd 'hated' her. Really he didn't understand why he acted the way that he did around her but he did. Although, he did have to admit to himself that he did kind of get annoyed at the fact that the guys always wanted to hang out with her. Why couldn't they just have all guys nights like they used to. He liked just hanging out with the guys without girls involved. Though being alone at his house was kind of boring, so he supposed he could always just suck it up for a few hours. Which was how he ended up with his phone out texting Jessa to see where she'd dragged off to. After all, she was probably the only one of everyone out who could ever decide on anything.
Claire found it funny really how Jessa refused to believe that Michael like her, and how Luke and the others were pretty willing to do everything to prove that he liked her. Though it didn't make any sense to her why Mikey would pretend to hate Jessa if he really liked her, guys could be weird about feelings sometimes. "If you guys really want to prove to Jessa how Mikey actually feels about her then you shouldn't be trying to convince him to come out with us. I mean we've all been trying to get him to tag along forever now and it hadn't worked. What someone needs to do is secretly record him saying nice these things about her. Because then we'd have proof that not even he could deny." Claire said pretty sure that the best way to convince Jessa that Michael liked her was to get Michael to admit he liked her. And well if it was true that he did say nice things about her when she wasn't around then recording him, without him knowing of course otherwise it'd never work, was the best way to do that. Then of course after Jessa had this proof that Mikey liked her she could do as she wished with the information.

"Yeah, impossible to not love." Calum said, grinning slightly. In response, Jessa sent a not so nice hand gesture his way. She really didn't know why the guys were all so hellbent on her and Michael becoming a thing. He was an arsehole towards her all the time and, no matter how often they told her that he said nice things about her when she wasn't around, she found it rather hard to believe. "I second that." She said, nodding in agreement with what Claire had said. "If you guys want me to believe you, I'm going to need some actual proof here." She took a sip of her thickshake, glancing down at her phone when it buzzed. She raised an eyebrow when she saw that Michael had texted her. Why was he texting her? He hardly ever texted her. We're at Micky's, I wanted a thickshake, but that's besides the point. Why do you want to know? I told the guys you could come with us, they said you didn't want to.
"Alright, if you want proof, we'll give you proof." Luke said, punctuating his words with a slight shrug of his shoulders. It wouldn't be all that hard to catch Michael saying something nice about her. They all were playing around on their phones constantly, so one of them could easily make it seem like they were on instagram or twitter or something and instead be recording him saying it. He noticed her demeanor change slightly when she glanced down at her phone for a moment. "What's the face for?" He asked, reaching over and snatching her phone out of her hand before she could do anything about it, or threaten to bite him again. "Mikey's texting her! Wants to know where we are. See? If he really hated you, he wouldn't be doing that. He might not act like it, but he clearly wants to hang out with you...and maybe do other things too." He grinned cheekily, managing to earn himself a fry thrown at him. "Oi! Quit using my fries for ammo, Jay!" Calum shouted, making a shield around his plate with his hands.

I wanted to know where you drug my friends off to is all. Mikey replied biting his lip. He really hated feelings right now, especially mixed feelings because that just confused him about how he was actually feeling. Though reading the message and knowing where they were now kind of did put him in the mood for a thickshake. Of course that would mean he'd have to show up at Micky's and he'd have to break down and actually hang out with the lads and Claire and Jessa. Which to him meant that he'd have to accept that his friends would rather hang out with girls too than just the guys. And Mikey honestly just wanted at least a day or so where it was just the guys. Though he supposed maybe if he just told the guys that they'd listen to him. Only one way to find out though really.
Claire would've given almost anything right about now to have a normal healthy relationship with Luke. Because it was nice seeing Jessa and Calum acting like they were together, and just hearing all the talk of Mikey liking her even though he hadn't actually told her he liked her made her wish she could talk openly about Luke. Or even that Luke would talk openly about her. Sure she got texts from him, and phone calls, and when he was away there was skype as well but what she wanted most was to be able to be his girlfriend even when they were in public and not just some girl. She understood it, though, he was trying to keep her safe from the public. He didn't want the fans to know and attack her online, or even physically. She just hated that that was how it was.

"Eat your damn fries then, Cal!" Was Jessa's simple retort as she decided not to fully acknowledge what Luke had said to her. It was fairly obvious that Michael didn't even remotely like her. In fact, it honestly seemed like he hated her and that he always had. They weren't in primary school anymore, acting like an arsehole when you liked someone wasn't how things worked anymore, so unless she had some actual proof, she wasn't going to believe it. You want to know where I drug your friends off to, huh? News flash Michael: I didn't drag them anywhere, they wanted to hang out with me. You were invited too, or have you already forgotten that? If you change your mind, we're at Micky's, if not, enjoy sulking in your room. Cute Maybe she was a bit harsh, but she was honestly pretty fed up with his behavior, and she was kind of aggravated right now seeing as the guys were constantly bringing up how Michael liked her and stuff.
"All I'm saying, Jay is that you should try giving him a chance. I know that it's kind of a moot point when he's acting like an arse towards you 24/7, but he actually really likes you." Luke told her. Maybe playing match maker for his friends wasn't the best idea when he had his own relationship issues to sort out, not that anyone besides him and Claire knew about that relationship, but that was besides the point. "I've given him a chance, Luke. He's always been an arsehole, and he's always going to be an arsehole. If you want me to believe anything that you lot are saying, I'm going to need some actual proof like Claire suggested." She said, taking another sip of her thickshake. "Alright, fair enough." Luke said, holding his hands up in defense. "I get it, and I'm not going to tell you what to do when you do get the proof either, that's completely up to you."

I'm not sulking in my room. And I'm so sorry that I was curious as to where you guys were because I miss my friends. Just don't leave I'll be there in like ten. Michael sent back rolling his eyes before climbing off the couch and heading to his room to get dressed. He planned on actually heading out and meeting up with everyone at Micky's, not because Jessa was there either. He just wanted to see his friends given they'd been home a while he felt like they hadn't really hung out once since they'd been home. Of course again, every time they went to hang out Jessa would tag along, and usually Claire would too. And thinking about it he was actually kind of curious about Claire. Because it was like she just showed up one day out of the blue with Luke and they always seemed kind of friendly when he'd see them together but whenever he'd ask about what was going on Luke was pretty quick to address that they were just friends. And well of course Michael believed him, because well why would Luke lie about it? It just felt like there was more to the story between them than they let on.
Claire would admit that she enjoyed hanging out with Luke and his friends, even if she was pretending she wasn't actually Luke's girlfriend. Though she didn't know how his friends didn't even know, or why they didn't know either. She would've assumed that he'd at least want his friends to know but well it was his job to tell his friends not hers. Even if they were kind of her friends now too. And she'd known for the most part what she was getting herself into when she'd agreed to date him. She just hadn't expected it to be like this, or for Luke to be this serious about not telling anyone, but she was trying to deal with it. It was just a bit harder to do than one might think. Because Claire wanted to be at least somewhat normal with him. She wanted to be able to hang out with their friends but also hold his hand, or lay her head on his shoulder, or kiss him. She didn't want for them to go from a couple to just friends as soon as they left his room anymore. But she also didn't want to pressure him into anything, or make him feel like she didn't want to be with him. So for now she was dealing with no one knowing, and subtly interlocked their pinkies wanting even the slightest bit of physical contact with him.

Could've fooled me. You clearly didn't miss them enough to hang out with all of us in the first place, but whatever, see you soon. Jessa really just didn't understand how someone could be so confusing and intreating. He wasn't really confusing her, it was more so how he acted towards her combined with everything that the guys were telling her. It was actually pretty damn frustrating too. She really just couldn't figure Michael Clifford out, like at all. "He'll be here in a few minutes." She told the others, leaning back in the booth. "Aw, he misses you, Jay." Ashton cooed teasingly, a smug smirk on his face. Jessa managed to steal a fry off of Calum's plate and chuck it at the drummer before the bassist even realized what was happening. "Fuck off, Irwin."
Luke let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head slightly as Calum whined about Jessa stealing his fries and how she should steal someone else's if she was just going to use them for ammo. If it weren't for the fact that he knew better, he'd say that she and Calum acted quite a bit like a couple. He obviously knew that a certain guitarist, whether he actually let it on to her or not, had a thing for her though. That didn't mean that the fans didn't think Jessa and Calum were a thing though. Jalum was definitely a thing in the 5sos fandom, and he was pretty sure that the fans would ship the two together regardless of anything anyone said about them just being really good friends. Maybe if Mikey grew a pair and quit acting like such a dick and just asked her out already things would be a bit different though. He stole a glance over to Claire, noting that she'd gotten pretty quiet all of a sudden. He sent her a small, reassuring smile before taking a sip of his thickshake.

Michael rolled his eyes again after reading her latest reply before just shoving his phone in his pocket and heading out the door. He'd spent the last like five times they'd all hung out not hanging out with them, and today had been going like every other time since they'd been home, but he realized that he was being stupid not just hanging out with them. So what if he had to hang around Jessa too, as long as he got to see his friends it wouldn't be that big a deal hopefully. He'd find out though soon enough, though. Once he'd made it to the diner they were all at he headed inside and looked around the place until he found their table and made his way over to them and pulling up a seat, and right at the mention of seeing a movie, the timing couldn't have been more perfect the way he saw it.
Claire smiled back at Luke before shaking her head a little and deciding to jump back into the conversation. She was just letting all the talk about Mikey and the openness of Jessa and Calum's relationship get to her. Even if she knew that Jessa and Calum were just friends, it always looked like more when they hung out. "Why don't we talk about something that doesn't revolve around Mikey and if he does or doesn't like Jessa, like how now that you guys are back we should go see a movie together." She said hoping at least someone would agree with her to change the subject. "We're going to see a movie, awesome what movie?" Mikey said looking around at the group.

Jessa was pretty damn relieved when Claire attempted to change the subject, though it was short-lived as, moments later, Michael was pulling a chair up to the table. "We haven't actually decided if we're going to see one or not, Claire simply suggested it." She said, maybe coming off somewhat bitchy. Part of her wanted to tell him that, if he'd been here the whole time he'd know that already, but she decided against it. She still honestly didn't understand how the guys could think that he had a thing for her. He was such a pompous arsehole towards her. She didn't really know why either. She'd been nice to him from the get-go, and, in turn, he'd been a complete dick, so she kind of just stopped putting up with it and wasn't so nice anymore. As childish as it may come across, he was the one who had fucking started it.
Luke knew what the unspoken portion of Jessa's statement was, it was kind of obvious really, though he was glad that she hadn't actually said it. The last thing he wanted was for the blonde and Mikey to argue the entire night. Of course, he knew that Jessa only acted the way that she did towards him because of how he'd been treating her since like day one, and he knew that Mikey acted the way that he did, as childish as it was, because he liked her, but he really didn't feel like hearing them argue all night. That really just wasn't on his list of things to do today at all. "Well, I think it sounds like a great idea. I think there are a couple of good movies out in theaters right now."

"Well we should go see a movie then, what movie would you like to see?" Michael asked keeping his cool aside from the fact that clearly he'd already pissed off Jessa today. Who cares if he just got there and happened to catch the end of the conversation and they hadn't actually decided if they were going to the movies yet. It was the movies, and they hadn't been in what felt like forever so it wasn't like it was likely they'd say no. He didn't know how he and Jessa would make it through the rest of the day without tearing one another's heads off, but he supposed they'd find out.
Claire really hoped that Michael and Jessa wouldn't argue the whole time they were out for the day. She'd only changed the subject because she was tiring of hearing everyone mention how much Michael liked Jessa, and clearly Jessa was getting sick of it too. Or at least Claire had assumed she was getting sick of it as well. However with him tagging along she didn't know how things would go, she did hope that it didn't end badly though. Though maybe a movie would be best if Michael was going to tag along, because well most of the time theaters were pretty quiet aside from the movie playing of course. "I don't really care, whatever you guys wanna see is fine with me," Claire said not too picky about what they watched.

"I think that new movie with Dylan O'Brien in it is out." Jessa stated, surprised that Michael hadn't responded to her rather snarky comment. That was a first. Maybe he was learning that treating her like shit wasn't exactly getting him anywhere. "You would know if there's a new movie with Dylan O'Brien in it out." Calum teased, causing Jessa to laugh and steal another fry off of his plate with a triumphant smirk on her face. Calum reacted indifferently, obviously realizing, finally, that no amount of whining on his part was going to get her to stop stealing his fries. She was surprised that he hadn't picked up on that fact sooner, that and that he wasn't used to that sort of behavior from her by now. "He's a beautiful specimen, what can I say." She said, punctuating her words with a slight shrug of her shoulders.
"Just because you think he's beautiful, doesn't mean you can stalk him, Jay." Luke teased, letting out a slight chuckle when the blonde girl pouted. "Is it pick on Jessa day or something?" She asked, crossing her arms as she leaned back in the booth with a huff. So far, Michael and Jessa hadn't done much arguing at all, and he hoped that it stayed that way. It would be an extremely long day if they did end up arguing the whole damn time, and he really didn't feel like dealing with that at all. "I'm down for seeing whatever as well. It's up to you guys." He said.

"I'm down for whatever," Michael said figuring that whatever movie Jessa was talking about couldn't possibly be that bad. Even if he didn't know what it was. Honestly, though he didn't have that much time to really keep up with all the different movies out with how busy the band stayed usually. So really even if he'd wanted to suggest a movie to see he wouldn't have been able to because he didn't even know what was out. Hell for all he knew there could be a new Harry Potter movie or something out and he probably wouldn't have even known unless someone else told him. That's just how out of tune he was with most things that weren't either band related or about a new video game he wanted if he even had time to keep up with those.
"I love Dylan O'Brien!" Claire said totally agreeing with Jessa. "And he is totally a beautiful specimen. Like honestly he's perfect, and I know that no one is 'perfect' but I promise he somehow is," Claire said stopping herself before she went on some huge thing about how amazing Dylan was. Sometimes though it was hard not to go on about how great he was, though. And sure Luke could possibly get a little jealous that she was going on about a guy like she was, but well no one knew they were together and technically her going on about someone else would keep people from wondering about them, which was what he wanted apparently. "We should totally go see his new movie. I actually saw the first one when it came out last year and well it was really good. So I'm sure this one won't disappoint."

"Dylan O'Brien defies any and all laws, including those pertaining to gravity." Jessa said, grinning slightly when Claire chimed in, agreeing with her sentiments on Dylan O'Brien and his gravity-defying good looks. "The first one was really good, and I'm definitely just not saying that because of Dylan O'Brien. I read the books, they're really well-written." She was being completely honest to though she'd be a little bit more than surprised if none of the guys tried ragging on her for the obvious crush she had on the actor. It was to be expected though, it was kind of just what guys did in general, and when a majority of her close friends were guys, minus Claire, she definitely expected it to happen. "Sure you aren't, Jay." Ashton teased, causing the blonde to roll her eyes.
"We all know you're only into it because of Dylan O'Brien, Jay. It's alright, you can admit it to us. We'll still love you." Luke chimed in, grinning slightly. He was trying his hardest to act as normal as possible and not like some jealous boyfriend, though he had to admit that hearing Claire gush over this actor with Jessa did kind of cause a knot to form in his stomach. He wouldn't let that on though. He couldn't act that way. They were just friends. At least, that was what everyone but them thought, and he needed to keep up with that front. It was what was for the best. "Alright, you guys have me. I'm only into it for Dylan O'Brien, regardless of the fact that I read the books before the movie was a thing. We're just going to disregard that altogether." Jessa said, sarcasm dripping from her words. Luke chuckled. "We're just messin' with ya, Jay." He said. "Anyway, well, the ladies are down for the new Dylan O'Brien movie, Michael doesn't care. I really don't care either, what says you Calum and Ashton?"

With everyone aside from Claire and Jessa voting that they didn't care what movie they saw it was clear that the girls had won and they were going to see the new Dylan O'Brien movie. Which Michael was trusting that both Claire and Jessa weren't awful at picking movies, or actors in their case given part of the reason they were even going to see the movie anyways was because of the actor. "Well I guess we'll find out soon enough then if this Dylan guy really can act and whether or not his movies are any good soon enough," Michael finally said pretty sure that if there were any girls who could pick a good movie it would be those two. At least that's what he was telling himself.
"Yes! The books were so good, though! And I'm super impressed with how well they did with transitioning the book plot into the movie and not screwing anything up. Yea there were a few things different but nothing major." Claire said positive that the best movie adaption of a book was probably the Maze Runner series. "And yes Dylan defies all laws. Including gravity." Claire said laughing slightly. He really was a beautiful perfect human being and nothing would ever change the way she looked at him. Which was probably a little sad, but it was true. If there were ever one famous person she'd probably never meet and wouldn't ever be with, especially since she had a boyfriend, it was Dylan.
