    Scott McCall | The Leader
    Image

The day had slipped by pretty quickly. One of Charlotte's aunts, a human one, was his math teacher. He still hated math, but it was made a little better when she held him briefly after class, thanking him for helping Lyra and her family. That her own kids were wolf and some were human, and Elijah and Levi's vision of a "purer" bloodline scared her senseless. And the more Scott learned about Charlotte's uncle and cousin's family- the more he began to dislike them. It was exhausting to have such pack politics. The worse fight his pack had gotten into was when they were learning how to gel together and trust one another. Fitting to each other like puzzle pieces; each piece needed to be whole. His relationship with Derek had been the hardest. Scott hadn't trusted him in the beginning, though could you really blame him? It had been his psychotic uncle that bit him. But that was all the past. His day was slow, he was dying to sit down and talk with Charlotte, figure out what he could do to help.

Whether it was offering up tactics to keep her sister ahead of the curve, or just offering a listening ear. There was something about youngest Ramos that made his world seem bright. Vibrant and just... better. There seemed to be something about Charlotte that put his mind to ease. All the worrying about what would happen with her family, how it would affect his pack- well none of it seemed to matter. Like it was all justified somehow. Yes he wanted to see Lyra as an alpha, it would be in his best interest not to mention she seemed like a wonderful person who deserved the spot- but it would be the best way to also protect Charlotte from her asshole cousins. And when Scott wasn't near Charlotte, he was distracted by these thoughts. Thankfully she had a class with at least one packmate throughout the day- so she was never alone. That put him to ease a bit. English was alright, science was boring as always- but at least he knew the subject material this year. History was his favorite mostly because Coach Finstock taught that class and as much as an asshole he could be- Scott generally liked him.

When finally it was time for lunch, Scott found himself rushing to throw his stuff in his bookbag. He had noted Elijah around the school, and was really anxious about how he would react to his pack and Charlotte. The hallways were crowded, but it was easy enough to pick up the youngest Ramos' scent as he followed the hallways, weaving and apologetically pushing past people. She was heading towards the cafeteria which was a relief, most of the pack was already there save for- "Scott! Hey Scotty wait up!" Pausing turning around he grinned as Stiles rushed to catch up with the group. "Hey, how was science?" Stiles made a groaning noise, more akin to a gag than anything though added in a more admirable voice, "Well not all bad. Lydia's my lab partner and so she's great." Cocking an eyebrow Scott slowed his pace chuckling. "If nothing else you're devoted." His scrawny human friend huffed with indignation in the nearly empty hallways. They were still a good distance from the cafeteria, near the fields in fact when something alarmed Scott.

Elijah and Charlotte's scent, and Charlotte's had taken on a tinge of fear. Stiles was still blabbering when Scott veered sharply to his left jogging out the doors and glancing around wearily. He couldn't see them, though his gaze was drawn towards the bleachers. How many times had he gone there for privacy? That must be where they were. Without warning, Stiles asking what the hell was going on Scott sprinted as quickly as he could towards the bleachers. Sure enough as he ducked under them he noted two figures- the Ramos. A sharp crack rung out through the air as Charlotte's open palm connected with Elijah's face and Scott would of fucking cheered had it not been for the fact that Elijah was quick to react. "How dare you touch me. You pathetic weak human," Even as he sprinted towards them Scott wasn't quick enough. Elijah backhanded her, without holding back and with horror and rage he watched as the pretty blonde crumpled to the ground. Snarling, the sound crackling about the bleachers- swelled and crested with power and rage caught both their attention. "Hey!" He snarled, voice booming.

Stiles, somehow managing to catch up to the alpha looked cowed, while Elijah just smirked. "This is family business." As if to further goad him Elijah dragged his claws over Charlotte's cheek; opening a cut. Stiles was quick to hurry over to the girl while Elijah simply tried to walk past him. Scott wasn't about to let that happen. As Elijah past that grating smirk still on his lips Scott lunged, grabbing him by the collar and slamming him into one of the metal poles which held the bleachers up. An intimidation move he'd absolutely stole from Derek. The bleachers shook with force as he flashed his alpha gaze- enough to even replace Elijah's smugness with fear for a moment. "Don't you, ever, touch her like that again." There was a soft threat beneath his words, which were muffled by his fangs. "I don't care what pack you come from. If you ever bully anyone like that again you won't have to worry about Lyra being alpha. You'll need to worry about staying alive in Beacon Hills."

If Derek could of heard the bravado in the young alpha's words he'd of probably been livid. With that he threw Elijah away watching the wolf collide to the ground and with a furious gaze got up and scrambled away. Hurrying back to the school before Scott's rage could get any worse. Watching his retreating back, the alpha forced himself to breathe deeply, his eyes eventually fading back to their soulful browns. Turning back to Charlotte, Stiles scrambled back as he crouched down next to her. Wordlessly he shrugged his backpack off, quickly finding the tissues in the front pocket. Taking one he carefully and gently wiped the blood off her cheek, and after a moment laid his palm over the cut; closing his eyes and taking the stinging pain until the wound closed. "Are you alright?" Scott finally spoke up as he withdrew his hand, his large brown eyes worried and wide. "If you think you broke or sprained anything, my mom's a nurse. I can take you to the hospital." His breath was still ragged as he fought to get the wolf under control as it was still livid. He knew after lunch was just electives. "Or I can take you home." He offered in a soft voice, his mind twisting with unease at the thought of not being in her electives with Elijah around.

Lyra Ramos | The Outcast Heir

    Image

If Lyra had been paying attention to anything other than the faint scent of fire and acidic smoke she would of picked up on the scent of Scott's pack. In actuality it was almost impressive with how she hadn't noted; like a pup blundering about on it's first moon out. Her steps were quiet and lithe against the leaf strewn ground as she eagerly followed the scent wondering what hidden treasure she found; ears shoved forward while her breaths snuffed loudly about her. A new place to hideout? When she neared the thin treeline she noted that bunt out husk of a house and curiously she took a step forward; and that's when she heard a noise. Her ears, still shoved forward flickered and she was torn between turning and fleeing back towards her car; or going to investigate. It was then when she was snapped out of her concentration and the scents of her surroundings came flooding to her. Not only was there the scent of fire, but of wolves- a lot of them and some of the scents familiar. For a minute panic welled in her chest. This was their pack den? Her fur rippled upwards like a gentle wave with panic.

Perhaps she'd been instinctively drawn here. Lyra was about to creep back towards the car, though a flurry of movement caught her sharp and alert gaze. "Lyra? Is everything alright?" Almost comically she jumped in the air, twisting around to find Derek there, sweat gleaming off his forehead making her throat go dry. She couldn't answer him but lowered herself a little closer to the ground- not for camouflage but more to express her apology for being near his pack's territory unannounced, and that she really didn't want to fight. Thankfully he wasn't upset as the beta stepped off the porch, his eyes kind as they flickered over her coat. How mortifying! She wanted to tell Derek not to look at her like this. The best she could do however was woefully turn her head away her ears flattening against her skull. Now compared to a wolf, Lyra was smaller. But what she lacked in size she more than made up for in strength and bite-force. "I like your stripes." He spoke again and this time, her gaze snapped towards him; tail slowly wagging. He liked her stripes? The only person who had ever said that to her was Lottie.

And like that, she was melting from her icy exterior and playfully headbutted the beta as if to assure everything was fine. Her lay flat against her shoulders as she stepped away remaining oddly quiet. Hyena noises were strange, and honestly rather eerie so she'd wait a little before she got noisy in that form. She stayed with him a little longer, letting a curious hand reach out to pat her fur. It was weird having someone like this form. Ever since she was born Lyra's form had been a source of tension, unease, and insurrection in her pack. She waited a moment, flicking her tail as if to say Wait before turning and plunging back into the undergrowth; following her trail until she found the spot she shifted, her dress still folded neatly on the boulder she'd found. The shift was quick; she'd been doing it since she was a kid and moving between forms was easier than blinking at this point. Second nature and all that. The second her fur vanished and she was crouched in the leaves Lyra was quick to get dressed again. In packs, especially those who had full-form shifters there wasn't a big deal over being naked after shifting.

But Lyra wasn't with her pack. She was with Derek and the slender blonde was quite that shifting back nude wouldn't really be a great impression. Sterling would kill her. Taking a few moments to slide her flats back on, fixing her hair and plucking out any stray leaves. It took her about ten minutes to get back to the burned down house where Derek had moved back onto the porch, taking a break from whatever it was he was doing. As she stepped closer to him it was then realization washed over her. This must of the old Hale house. Her father had been here a few times to do business with Talia- but never Lyra. He wanted to keep his golden haired children hidden from the rumors about them, and the politics of the wolf world. "I'm sorry for trespassing, I was just exploring and the smell was interesting." She explained a delicate pink flush on her high cheekbones as Lyra's orbs flashed a note of embarrassment. "I swear I don't normally go poking around pack lands. I'm just used to bigger spaces." This part was murmured, more to herself as she sat beside Derek her expression distant.

The ancestral pack house in Upper-state New York had large open acres to run around on. Nothing like the twisting forests of Beacon Hills. She remained quiet for a few more moments her slender brows furrowed together as if she were trying to find the way to phrase something. "Did you really mean it?!" She finally burst out, her emerald gaze flicking across her face while a note of reserve stained their tentative depths. Her normal flippant air, colored with a sort of amusement and confident alpha's normally had. In that moment she sounded... Almost accusing as if waiting for him to make fun of her; as it was what she'd grown expecting. Packs had come and stayed over the Ramos' pack house before. And when they had seen Lyra's shift it was always the same. Gazes of ridicule, disgust, and a morbid sense of curiosity. She had always accepted Charlotte's view of Lyra's shift. Because they were two outcasts in positions of power. But Derek? His shift was perfect. It wasn't deformed like she was, he was a wolf like packs wanted. She leaned away from him for a moment trying to find any fallacy in him. "I really meant it." He confirmed and against her will a brilliant smile touched on her pale, pink lips. "Thanks... Anyway what're you doing here? Rebuilding?" And like that, Lyra was at ease with the dark haired wolf. Something she lacked with most her family.

Usually Derek would have turned into his werewolf form if another wolf from a different pack wandered onto his territory but Lyra was different, she was still new to Beacon Hills so he figured that her family would want to do some exploring and the old Hale House may be in the middle of the forest but for a wolf it wasn’t hard to find. The smell of the burnt wood lingered in the air, no matter how hard Derek tried to cover it up. He wasn’t angry will Lyra so when she came back in her human form, he brushed off her apology. “Don’t be, I understand you want to know the area that you’ll be living in now. But just so you know, if it hadn’t been you then I would have fought back.” He told her as she joined him by sitting on the front porch, he didn’t mind her being there and even her immediate family but he didn’t want her extended family coming across his old house.

“Did you really mean it?” Lyra asked as her eyes found his face, he didn’t think she needed to ask but he guessed it was because she had grown up different from her family. He could tell from the pack dinner that some of her family didn’t think she was worthy, because she was born different. Derek didn’t understand but that could also be from having to allow himself to trust Scott, growing up all Derek knew where wolves that came from long family lines and not bitten. “I really meant it,” He promised the blonde and almost instantly the air around her changed, he wanted to see more of this as it brought a bright glowing light to her beautiful face.

“To be honest with you, I’ve never seen a hyena before. I grew up with wolves, seeing you is a nice change and one that I don’t think you should be hiding.” It was just his opinion and Derek knew it wasn’t that easy, she would be given crap for not being a wolf especially when she was from a family such as the Ramos one. It was something that he felt Scott needed to know about, but it also wasn’t his place to say anything. Anyway what're you doing here? Rebuilding?" She asked him causing him to sigh as rebuilding his family house was taking him longer than he first imagined, “I’m trying to. It was about time to start rebuilding, but it’s not going as well as I had hoped. Considering everything that has happened here lately, I’ve been pretty busy.” He glanced over his shoulder at the house that once stood tall and beautiful, he knew when he did manage to finish that it would be beautiful again but that would take him a long time if trouble continued to settle in Beacon Hills.

Tuning his gaze back onto the pretty blonde, he grinned when he noticed a leaf that had gotten stuck in Lyra’s golden locks. Reaching out he picked the leaf out and tossed it aside, “How are you finding the town? You can be honest with me, I know it’s completely different to what you’ve grown up with but it really isn’t that bad here.” He told her as he felt comfortable with Lyra, something that had changed after his family was burnt alive because he trusted Kate Argent. Since that he always took him a while to trust someone new in his life, but here he was talking to Lyra easily and he felt happy that she had stumbled upon the area.
    Charlotte Ramos | The Human
    Image

Charlotte sat on the dirt ground as she held back from letting her eyes water, it wasn’t from the sting of the backhand or the cut on her cheek. Not from the embarrassment that she felt because Scott and Stiles had seen Elijah take her down, but it was from her cousin being able to push her around so easily. If she had been born a wolf like she would have been if her body hadn’t been affected while she was growing, then she would have been able to stand up to her family and no one would be able to shove her around like she was a doll.

But the bleachers shaking slightly is what captured her attention as Stiles crouched down beside her and a little awkwardly rested his hand on her shoulder, which did give her some comfort but it wasn’t long before her aqua eyes moved over to Scott and noticed he had pinned Elijah against the bleachers. "Don't you, ever, touch her like that again. I don't care what pack you come from. If you ever bully anyone like that again you won't have to worry about Lyra being alpha. You'll need to worry about staying alive in Beacon Hills." Scott threatened Elijah and from where Charlotte was sitting, she saw the fear that flashed through her cousin’s hazel eyes which she hadn’t seen for a long time.

If only Lyra had been there to see how Scott had handled the situation, she would have been proud and it would have given her another reason to like the bitten alpha. As Elijah rushed back into the school, she knew this wouldn’t be the last time he tried something with her but hopefully it would take him sometime to work up the balls to approach Charlotte in that way again. Watching as Scott made his way over to him, her eyes never moved from him. No one had ever stood up for her like that before, only family had and a new set of emotions ran through her body. Trust being a main feeling that was filling her body quickly, but there was also something else. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but it felt warm and tingly and she never wanted to stop feeling that way.

However to add to her embarrassment, a warm pink flush settled across her cheeks when she felt Scott’s large palm gently place over her flushed skin. The sting from her cheek soon left and so did the small cut, she had seen her father do that only a few times before. One time when Charlotte was only young and had followed Lyra up into a tall tree, however Charlotte grew scared and had accidently fallen from a high branch. She had broken her left arm and her right ankle, she had never felt that much pain before and wouldn’t stop crying until Sterling took all her pain away.

“I’ll be fine, but if I leave than Elijah will think he’s won. I will be fine, Scott. After what you did, he shouldn’t try anything else today.” She assured the alpha and if he did, then she would threaten to call her sister so Elijah could lose yet another fight against her. “But thank you, both of you.” She glanced between the two friends before she got back onto her feet, she brushed the dirt from her clothes as Stiles suggested they head to the cafeteria right as his stomach grumbled. “I think that’s a great idea,” Charlotte smiled as the three of them also headed back inside, Stiles was slightly in front of her and Scott so she reached between them and gave his large warm hand a squeeze. She could sense how tense he still was and she didn’t want him to lose control of his wolf, not that she thought he would but there was always a chance that any wolf would at any given time.

“What you did will mean so much to my family, Lyra is always worried about me and Elijah being alone. I guess she has a point, not that we should tell her that.” Charlotte smiled as she looked at Scott, she wanted him to relax and go back to his normal goofy self. She left her hand holding onto his until she knew that she was calming down, “Besides I still have classes with Stiles and Boyd.” She assured him although Stiles wouldn’t be able to help her if she did get into more trouble, but she still wouldn’t be completely on her own for the most part. The hallways of the high school were pretty much empty, a few students littered the hallways but they kept to themselves which Charlotte was grateful for. Even though she was still new, she was beginning to gain less and less attention from the rest of the student body. When they finally reached the cafeteria Stiles led the way to the table where the pack was sitting, Charlotte usually always brought her lunch from home as it was easier because she could eat something she knew she’d like. However she did let her hand drop from holding Scott’s, even if she didn’t want to it would be for the best right now. It also wouldn’t raise any questions.

“What took you three so long?” Erica asked as her dark orbs moved between the three friends that were sitting down at the table, “We would have been here sooner. But as Scott and I were heading here, he smelt something and took off without telling me anything. So I followed him outside, and we saw that Elijah guy bullying Charlotte so we had to step in.” The words spilt from Stiles’ mouth as although Charlotte didn’t mind, the pack had a right to know what her cousin was like. She was glad he left out the part where she had been backhanded and cut, that part didn’t need to be known.

She was brave, Scott would happily give her that. But he still felt a pit of worry in his stomach as she got to her feet, assuring him that it was okay. She didn't need to go home or to the hospital; that Elijah would think he won should that happen. Scott's wolf was still furious, as if pacing within the confines of his mind diluting and dulling his thoughts with anger. Charlotte had been hurt, Scott hadn't been watching well enough. This was his fault. After promising to protect her to Sterling. This wouldn't ever happen again- he would be sure of it. Scott was barely aware of her thanking him- of thanking them but he offered a small smile. Had this been two years ago Scott would of lost control of his shift- and nothing would of protected Elijah from him then. It was when Charlotte gently squeezed his hands with her smaller ones did he snap out of his inner dialogue, and the anger began to fade from his bones. “What you did will mean so much to my family, Lyra is always worried about me and Elijah being alone. I guess she has a point, not that we should tell her that.” Uncomfortable with the idea of Lyra not knowing- she may be able to do something he just nodded.

If this happened again he would tell the alpha-to-be. "I just want to keep you safe." He admitted, his dark depths troubled with the prospect of Elijah's claws ripping through Charlotte's delicate skin. On the way back to the cafeteria, now that lunch was almost half-over no one spoke much. Was this Ramos thing going to become a huge battle? Would he get sucked up into it? Something in his bones whispered that he would; and willingly. Scott was willing to sacrifice many things to keep the petite blonde safe. He hadn't even felt this way about Allison. By the time they reached the lunch room, Charlotte slipped her hand out of his warm grip probably so not to raise questions he would really rather not answer at the moment. Sliding into his normal seat he nodded to his pack, almost amused as Erica and Stiles began talking right away. We would have been here sooner. But as Scott and I were heading here, he smelt something and took off without telling me anything. So I followed him outside, and we saw that Elijah guy bullying Charlotte so we had to step in.”

He loved Stiles, but sometimes he had a big mouth. Making sure Charlotte didn't seem upset Scott decided that he wouldn't scold his friend. "For real?" Erica asked, her dark eyes huge. It was anger he noted from Isaac's bond at this news. His father had been a bully, worse than that and these types of situations probably really upset him. At least it appeared the pack was taking on Charlotte's side in this issue. "From now on, we'll make sure you always have someone around." Isaac offered, and Scott had to agree that was a good idea. "Yeah, so your cousin can't hurt you. You share classes with most of us anyway- so it's not a big deal. At least until things get a little more settled between you and your family." Scott agreed, leaning back in his seat and taking a bite of the apple he'd snagged from Lydia. "I think it's a good idea." Even Jackson chimed in, and Scott couldn't help the pride that burned in his veins for his pack. "We don't want to overstep Charlotte, but we don't want you to get hurt again either. Would you mind if one of us walked you to and from classes? If it's too much I understand."

If that was the case, he'd just watch Elijah directly. Who cared if that made him late to class. Lunch came and went and then it was time for Scott to go about the rest of his day normally. Mostly just the two electives that he wasn't looking forward to. Stiles and Allison were in his last classes though no one did very much talking. Their minds were busy. Probably wondering what exactly they were stepping into this time- and if they could Scott wanted to keep the two humans far away from the Ramos pack's personal business as much as possible. Finally when the bell rang signaling the end of the day, Scott left class and gathered his things. He wanted to go home and just veg out tonight and finish his homework he was falling behind in. However, Coach Finstock held him an extra thirty minutes to discuss some upcoming game, and to congratulate him on keeping his grades up this year. By the time he finally got out the door- all sorts of tired he was surprised to see Charlotte waiting out front alone. "Lyra not here?" He called, as he jogged over, his backpack rustling. "If you want I can give you a ride home on my bike." Scott offered kindly.

Lyra Ramos | The Outcast Heir

    Image

Lyra grinned a wild thing, sunlight pouring down her skin, illuminating it giving the appearance of a golden glow. "If anyone else had seen me, I would of given them a concession." She counters, sounding impish and amused all at once. Sensing his hesitation Lyra paused, her face falling into something more serious. "Among other things of my family, I'm one of the only ones who's inherited a penchant for exploration. My father thinks it's dangerous if we stray too far from the home, so you don't need to worry about anyone else coming by here. Maybe Charlotte." She promised, shrugging. If nothing else the Ramon's shouldn't be trespassing on a dead pack's land. There was a chill in the air, a promise of autumn blew in the wind, beneath the lingering California heat. She was comfortable around Derek- not something that happened often. At home she often felt smothered beneath Sterling's stern hand, and the oft' hostile attitudes of her cousins and aunts. So out here, next to the Hale beta Lyra felt more relaxed than she had in a long time.

“To be honest with you, I’ve never seen a hyena before. I grew up with wolves, seeing you is a nice change and one that I don’t think you should be hiding.” The woman didn't react for a little bit, a sort of sorrow tinging her lips. Finally she sighed a heavy downtrodden sound. "Can I be honest with you?" Her sea-green gaze had turned their stormy depths onto his, and Lyra frowned before continuing. "I don't even want to lead the pack that badly." She admitted, her voice soft. "It's always been tension in my family, since my sister and I were born. I wasn't born right according to my family, and my sister lost most her wolf genes." The old wood was warm beneath her legs as she sat. "If I had it my way, I wouldn't be the next alpha. But if I don't do this- Elijah will become the next alpha. Under his reign my family will either be excommunicated, or killed. I have to protect Charlotte. It's always been that way." She sighed, gaze darkening.

"If I wasn't a Ramos then no one would care what my shift looked like. Including me." Lyra admitted tucking a soft curl of blonde behind her ear. They chatted and eventually the conversation moved away from Ramos and Ramos troubles, for which she was thankful. After all, Lyra wasn't one who liked to wallow in her own self-pity. “I’m trying to. It was about time to start rebuilding, but it’s not going as well as I had hoped. Considering everything that has happened here lately, I’ve been pretty busy.” It made sense. From the many channels the Ramos had, she heard there were many disturbances recently in Beacon Hills. Alpha packs, a murderous uncle- yes the Beacon Hills pack had more than their fair share of troubles. "I hope things quiet down now for your pack. They seem so young to have gone through everything they've already faced." She sighed, trouble tinging her lips. Lyra hoped that her own pack's discord wouldn't affect Scott's.

“How are you finding the town? You can be honest with me, I know it’s completely different to what you’ve grown up with but it really isn’t that bad here.” Lyra did miss the ancestral home in upstate New York. That was where she was born and raised, and where Charlotte had been born and until recently raised. The land was plentiful apart from other packs or omegas coming to pay homage while passing through their territory- it was quiet. But it had been a lonely life. Everyone knew what she was back home, and she had few allies save for Charlotte. Thus why the sisters were so close. "Well..." She began, her brows wrinkled, "I miss it. New York- but only because I spent so much of my life there. But here?" Lyra grinned brightly at Derek. "I think it's starting to grow on me. And Charlotte, she seems to get on pretty well with Scott." She suggested, holding back a few snorts of laughter.

"Among other things of my family, I'm one of the only ones who's inherited a penchant for exploration. My father thinks it's dangerous if we stray too far from the home, so you don't need to worry about anyone else coming by here. Maybe Charlotte." Lyra spoke in her silky smooth voice, a voice that he could get used to listening to. “Charlotte is more than welcome to come here, I don’t mind if she does.” Derek mentioned to her as he didn’t mind if the younger Ramos sibling did want to explore and happened to find his old family house, but he just didn’t want her extended family to come snooping around his territory. He glanced over at her and watched the cooling breeze move her blonde locks slightly, he was comfortable spending time with her and that hasn’t happened to him in a very long time. But it did feel nice to have someone there that he could trust, even if he hadn’t known her for all that long. It did surprise him how quickly he warmed up to Lyra, the only people this has happened to before was his family.

"I don't even want to lead the pack that badly. It's always been tension in my family, since my sister and I were born. I wasn't born right according to my family, and my sister lost most her wolf genes. If I had it my way, I wouldn't be the next alpha.” The blonde beauty opened up to him and he listened intently to what she was telling him, he did feel bad for her as this was being thrown upon her and she didn’t really have a choice. If she didn’t accept being the next Alpha then it would be given to her cousin, and if she didn’t trust her cousin then neither did he. But there wasn’t anything he could do about that, it was all up to Lyra and by the sound of things she was going to become the next Alpha so she could keep her little sister safe and protected. Which he completely understood as he was the same way, his family had always been the most important thing to him and he’d do whatever he could to keep his entire family safe. Apart from when he got involved with Kate.

“And who’s there protecting you?” Derek looked over at her, who was protecting Lyra through all of this? He was certain that Charlotte was doing all she could to protect her older sister, but there was only so much a human could do against a pack of werewolves. But that was the last he mentioned anything of it, unless she brought it up again as he really didn’t want to upset her. "I hope things quiet down now for your pack. They seem so young to have gone through everything they've already faced." She told him which he did really appreciate as he hoped things would settle down for the pack as well, but he had a feeling in his gut that told him things were going getting started with her family. Which he did try to ignore as he didn’t want his bad thoughts to affect things between Lyra and himself, he really liked her and wanted to spend more time with her.

“They are young, but they’ve all grown up quickly since all of this started. I wish I could take it all back for them, they deserve to have a life that isn’t constantly in danger.” But that was never going to happen for any of them, once someone was born or turned into a werewolf it couldn’t be taken back. Derek felt a small smile form on his face as he looked at Lyra sitting beside him, “I’m actually glad you did make the journey here. As you can probably see, I’m not really surrounded by people my own age so this is nice.” He admitted to her which he usually wouldn’t ever do, he did chuckle when she mentioned Scott. “They have seemed to have taken a liking to each other, which is surprising really. I remember when Scott used to be so shy and awkward around girls he found pretty,” He knew exactly what he was doing, he doubted that Lyra wanted to hear that a boy was crushing on her little sister but it was damn obvious to him that Scott was. He also knew that Lyra probably knew that Scott was a good guy and wouldn’t do anything to hurt Charlotte.

Charlotte felt bad for making Scott worry about her, maybe she should tell Lyra what happened with Elijah. It would make her sister worry more especially when they were alone together at school, but he had hit her and threatened her. “And you will protect me, this wasn’t your fault. Please don’t blame yourself,” She didn’t want that, Elijah had dragged her outside and he would have done it if she had been with her new friends or not. She looked into his dark eyes and waited until he had calmed down, then they walked off with Stiles into the lunch room. Sitting down at the table, she smiled warmly when the pack took her side over what her cousin did to her and they were willing to help her. “This means a lot to me, thank you.” She didn’t know what else to say to the group other than thank you, though she meant it with all her heart.

"We don't want to overstep Charlotte, but we don't want you to get hurt again either. Would you mind if one of us walked you to and from classes? If it's too much I understand." Scott spoke to her and she didn’t mind it at all, it would make her feel safer until things calmed down in her family and that was something that could take time. “No, that would make me feel better. But I also don’t want to become a burden, or make any of you late to classes.” She wouldn’t allow them to be late to class just because they wanted to walk her to class, she would make sure that didn’t happen because she could still make her way around the school on her own. When lunch was finished she headed off to the rest of her classes which went by quick enough.

Hearing the bell ring, she walked to her locker and gathered everything she would need for her homework before making her way outside to the front of the school. She sat down on a bench to wait for her sister arrive, however she waited longer than she usually had to and soon all the other students had left the car park and she was sitting there alone. Charlotte wasn’t worried about it as Lyra probably just got caught up with something, but then a voice behind her caught her attention. Looking over her shoulder a sweet smile formed across her face when her baby blue eyes landed on Scott, "Lyra not here? If you want I can give you a ride home on my bike." Scott offered her kindly and she bit down onto her full bottom lip as she thought his offer through, “That would be really nice actually.” Standing up she sent a quick text to her sister saying that she was with Scott and was getting a lift with him.

“But I still haven’t really explored the town yet, if you don’t have anything to do then we could do something together.” Charlotte suggested as she didn’t really want to go home just yet, she wanted to spend more time with him and get to know him better. “I’ve never been on a bike before though,” She warned him as she wasn’t sure how well she was going to on a bike, she was fine in a car but a bike was completely different.
