Cyren Nielsen | Hellhound
She knew that Marlee had logic and point on her side, but Cyren was still embarrassed over it. But, today was a day she could just forget about everything. About Thomas and the trouble he'd caused this school. The constant worry she felt for Marlee, the stress of not being in her own room as nice as Finn's company had been, and about her slip up the previous night. "Once I get a decent coffee I'll feel much better." She quipped, straightening up a little. She knew that kids were already gathering near the gates to be sorted into groups and taken into town, though if the staff were smart they'd lump Cyren and Marlee together. "And if I want a coffee, and you want a dress- we'd best get a move on before we get left behind and I gotta convince one of the teachers who can drive to take us into town. Which the chances of that are slim and we may have to resort to shopping online." The normal lively tone had seeped back into Cyren's voice as her cerulean orbs sparkled with enthusiasm. It was about seven-thirty in the morning which meant they'd have a full day of shopping ahead. Normally 'Ren didn't get out very much. It was a privilege and unfortunately her impish nature often got the right to go out revoked. Not that she minded on days that most people went out she stayed back, exploring every nook and cranny of this dusty school.
"Anyway- how'd your night go?" She didn't expect much in the wayward of that. Cyren, the one who prided herself on her perception of others was convinced Daniel wouldn't cross that line with Marlee. Not while she was a student anyway. Cyren had high hopes they'd end up together after graduation or something. The hellhound could almost see the two spending vacations together while Cyren... Well she hadn't actually figured it out. There were plenty of things that the Hellhound hadn't figured out about what she'd do after high school- assuming she'd even graduate on time this year. She could join the human world, she was of age and it was her right- or she could stay in the supernatural community. Go to college with creatures like her, or go to college with humans. If she even wanted to go to college. Her parents while alive had formed a rather successful alchemy business. Selling ingredients of whatever your heart could desire to fae, witch, and whatever other reasons. When she graduated it was officially her's, if she wanted the business. Or, the Hellhound could travel. And that was what she was leaning towards. Cyren wanted to go explore the world. She wanted to reach out and find other's like her. She was looking to not feel so... alone.
But on the other hand, she didn't want to leave Marlee. It had been her job all these years to look after her friend- Cyren couldn't imagine ll that simply ending. It made her stomach twist with unease. And then there was the final option, if the conflict between the Rebellion and the Community became physical, she could help stop the rebels. That was the least desirable option to the young Hellhound. Absentmindedly she listened to Marlee as the pair made their way towards the gate, offering her small smiles and nods. "And how was Dan? He seemed pretty freaked out over the incident yesterday and I haven't had a chance to talk to him since." Perhaps it was because their rooms were so close but Cyren would swear she picked up his scent from inside Marlee's room. As the two made it outside to the front gates, Cyren paused ice filling her body for a moment. Flashes of memory, Marlee's hand wreathed with a silver aura while Thomas hovered meaninglessly just outside- the snapping of her bones and joints as it was pushed out of place when she landed poorly on her shoulder, And Finn... A delicate and subtle blush stained the brunette's cheekbones as she forced her mind away from that night. The surrounding town they were shopping in was a supernatural community. So if Cyren lost her cool somehow, it'd not be as bad.
A few Nephilim students were transporting people by groups, and unfortunately the line was rather long. She and Marlee would have plenty of waiting to do- which in turn irked the impatient tempered woman. "It would be faster for me to shift and you to just hitch a ride on me." Cyren remarked, somewhat petulantly. Of course that irritability made the woman a little more alert to the fact that from a few yards away Hamish was watching them. His face was blank and devoid, and chills prickled Cyren's forearms. Not wanting to upset Marlee, who's back was turned to the werewolf, Cyren allowed her gaze to bleed of blue, flashing instead her intimidating depths. If it weren't so crowded she'd be all to happy to choke the little bastard out again. However the headmaster had only let her off detentions because of what had happened with Thomas, and Cyren didn't want to spend her freetime from now until the end of the year cleaning desks. Hamish taking her not-so-subtle hint to fuck off scoured before turning and meshing into the crowd. Only when he was out of sight did Cyren relax. It took about a half hour, but eventually it was their turn to get zapped to town. She visibly tensed when the Nephilim's finger gently rested on her forehead, preparing to send her and Marlee on their merry way. It was the oddest sensation- and Cyren could never place it.
It was like getting squeezed and ironed all at once, like those rides at amusement parks that had you sticking to the wall by gravity. Not to mention side effects of being magically zapped included chills and disorientation. Thus was why the Hellhound when "landed" stumbled, catching herself on the side of the pub they'd landed in front of, near the shopping district. "I always hated that." She grumbled furiously rubbing her arms to warm herself up. "So, where you wanna go first? New Rok is open. Can get the dresses out of the way and if we have time grab some lunch or dinner." Cyren suggested, once her body had adjusted after being teleported to town. New Rok was her favorite store, vintage styles and quality clothing. She was beginning to regain some of her impishness, sparkling in her gaze as she glanced around eagerly. You could always go out into town on the weekends so long as you hadn't gotten in trouble- but this was by far the biggest town trip of the year. "I was thinking we get you something red. Or dark blue, to go nicely with your skin and stuff. Maybe a dark silver. But it can't be tacky. Silver and gold can be tacky colors." Marlee always looked nice, but Cyren was going to make positively sure that Daniel lost his fucking jaw when he saw her at the dance, as he was certainly going to be there.

Daniel Roberts | Vampire
“I hope she doesn’t stop trusting me, I care about her and I really want to help her. She will do so much in the world and I would hate to see her stay back for another year, just because no one has taught her how to control herself.” Daniel was relieved to see someone cared for Cyren. After years of being one of the only people to rally around the young Hellhound, it was relieving to him to have someone else worry about her. She wasn't a bad kid but like Marlee people had plenty of per-conceptions about her. And he'd admit he was one at first. But, he'd seen her gentler, side, knew how clever she was, and how important to Marlee she was- and vice versa. As for the trusting issue... Well it was Cyren's fatal flaw. Dan was pretty sure that she still didn't trust him, but that was fine by him. He wouldn't be utterly bothered by it like Finn seemed to be. "I think you'll learn pretty quickly that Cyren Nielsen, doesn't trust. And when she does give that to someone, it's not something given lightly. Since you seem to be physically in tact I'm guessing whatever happened will blow over. Don't stress about it." Daniel promised. He didn't know the nature of Finn and Cyren's relationship, and he didn't need to. He wanted to focus on him and Marlee. As long as Finn didn't hurt Cyren, and Cyren didn't hurt Finn- the vampire figured the two were adults and could handle themselves.
Absentmindedly tracing patterns on his mug the vampire instantly relaxed when Finn waved off his apology. “Honestly I was pissed when it all happened. But thanks to Marlee, nothing did come from it and I understand. I have a smaller group and yet some days I feel like I’m not controlling any of the students, they’re young and stupid so they will do risky things. Hopefully everyone has learnt from it, but it’s fine really.” The vampire would of felt terrible if something were to happen to anyone. While he wasn't as close with Cyren as he was with Marlee, or Cyren with Finn- the vampire still found her amusing. She was one of his better students and often found himself comparing her with his long since deceased sister. Not to mention those two vampires had been his responsibility. And he hadn't done a good enough job of keeping an eye on his group. "I'm just glad nothing happened." The vampire remarked, a little sullenly. Glancing up shaken out of his thoughts by Finn's next question Daniel chuckled at this. “Are you ready for the dance? Do I need to be warned about anything or anyone?” There were plenty of things to chaperon at these dances. Succubi could get seriously out of hand at these, and that was always awkward to break up. A few years ago a fae student had done something to the punch that had turned most of the teenagers into raging hormonal, supernatural drunkards. There were always the awkward student's asking staff to dance...
But, he was hoping for a quiet year. "I mean, I usually just stand there. I let the other teachers do the work. Breaking up grinding teenagers isn't exactly something I enjoy." Daniel stated with a sense of his normal dry humor. "Don't make eye contact with anyone for longer than five seconds or I swear they will ask you to dance." Chuckling a little at this he leaned back in his seat crossing his arms. This year he would be busy fighting the urge to dance with Marlee. Gods have mercy on him because Daniel was pretty sure that she was going to be a shining visage of elegance and beauty. "I mostly just step in if things get violent or if there are altercations. Last year a werewolf bit a vampire over a girl. But the kids are shaken up from the incident a few nights ago. I have a feeling they'll pretty much behave themselves. And if you don't like crappy DJ music, I suggest bringing your phone and some earbuds." Having done this dance nearly every year he taught at this school, Daniel was something of a pro. Callum joked he should write a guidebook for the newbies staffing. As they sat there, Daniel couldn't help but wonder what exactly his night would entail. Just pining after Marlee from the sidelines? He was pretty sure that Cyren wouldn't let anyone dance with the fae unless she wanted it... And Daniel was going to have to pretend like she wasn't the only thing he saw whenever they were in the same room together.
It brought him in an awkward position. On one hand he was really looking forward to seeing how Marlee dressed that night. And on the other, Daniel was going to have to wrestling with this beguiling sense of guilt that would be brewing in his stomach the entirety of the night. Glancing over at Finn saying nothing but studying his features for a moment the history was tempted to just come clean. Ask Finn that if what he was doing, what he was hiding about himself and Marlee was the right call. He opened his mouth, intent on asking but backed out at the last minute. "How's Marlee doing in her classes? I know she missed a couple, I don't want her to fall behind in senior year." He asked instead. Daniel already knew how she was doing- or at least how Marlee had told him she was doing. He'd helped her with a few of Finn's assignments a few days ago. They had been far more pleasant than the math and science had been. Daniel figured it would just be too messy to mention his real problem to Finn. It would just be another person that would know, and he had asked Marlee not to tell Cyren. It wouldn't exactly be fair for Finn to know and not the Hellhound. Of course Dan had his suspicions about Finn's interest in Cyren, but again that would be too messy if he knew for sure. "As long as I don't hurt Marlee, it'll be fine." The vampire told himself nodding along to Finn's update on Marlee's progress in his class.
