Lost On Emotions

Elianna carried her box through the double doors, heading into the B.A.U.'s main office. She had heard about them and dreamt about joining and now she finally could. She was so excited, but she kept her expression neutral, knowing that jumping around was far from professional, and Agent Hotchner-- Her new boss-- May not take well to it. She was more than qualified to be here, and she was excited to show them why.

"Welcome to the B.A.U.," Hotch said, shaking her hand briefly and gesturing with the other toward the nest. "Agent Morgan can show you to your desk, the empty one across from his." He said seriously, nodding in the direction.

"Thank you, sir." She said, nodding to him and getting her box, heading down into the nest. "Agent Morgan? I'm Elianna Dalton, new to the B.A.U." She said, setting her box down and holding her hand out to shake his as well.

"Uh, I'm Dr. Spencer Reid," Another man said, standing and shaking her hand as well. "So are you new to the B.A.U.? I heard we were getting a new Agent."

"Myself and one other," She nodded to him, looking around the room.

"Did you know that 34% of new employees struggle under the weight of a new job and it leaves a significant mark on their career history for the rest of their lives?" Spencer said with a small shrug from his cubicle.

"Uh... Thanks." She smiled a little weakly, not having a real response. "Well, I'm not going to be a part of that statistic but thanks for sharing."

Callie walked into the office her purse on her shoulder and her go bag she was going to keep under her desk in her hand. She had been waiting for this day for so long, she couldn't even begin to place her emotions right now. She looked around and smiled when she saw her new boss, "Hi, it's nice to finally be here," she said to him.

"The other new Agent just got here as well - you'll be across from Dr. Reid just there," he smiled, "If you need anything let me know, Gideon said he saw you scores and recommended you for the job - we're happy to have you as part of our team,"

She nodded, "Of course, thank you so much for the opportunity - Agent Gideon is the reason why I wanted to join the FBI," she said to him.

Morgan smiled a little, "Don't mind him, he just likes scarin' people with his big brain," he snorted as he shook his head, "I'm Derek, so where are you from?" he asked.

"I'm from Lawrenceville, Virginia." She said, unpacking her stuff and sitting down. "I graduated about a year ago and have been working a desk job until now."

Spencer smiled a little and shrugged, going back to playing with his rubix cube.

"So itmust be true, with his photographic memory and all." She asked curiously.

"I can hear you!" He said, not looking up from the puzzle and shaking his head.

"Sorry, It's just interesting is all." She murmured with a small smile.

Callie smiled as she set her things down and pushed a hand through her hair before setting up her desk. "There," she murmured softly. She had finally been able to put the nightmares that haunted her to rest, the memory was there but they didn't haunt her dreams anymore and now she felt like she could actually start living her life the way it was meant to be lived.

"Yeah his memory is good, better than anyone in this room or in the tristate area probably," Derek smiled a little as he looked at the two new girls. He knew that this job could put a lot of weight on the shoulders of new Agents - but he had learned a lot about them from Garcia so he had no doubt that they would be able to handle it.

Elianna stood, moving so she could introduce herself to the other new girl as well. "I'm excited to be working with you," She smiled a little.

"I'm Dr. Spencer Reid," Spencer said as he walked over to the new girl's desk. "What made you transfer to the B.A.U?"

"Gideon," she smiled a little, "He is kind of like my childhood role model," she said to him smiling, "I was working in the Chicago PD till I finished my degree then put in my resume," she said smiling a little.

"I've always wanted to do a job with a lot of importance," she said lightly as she looked at him, "And I kind of wanted to make my parents proud," she smiled.

He smiled a little, "Well, we're happy to have you as part of the team," he said to her nodding, "It's a little tough, but as hard as it is there are times hwen it is rewarding,"

"Well I'm excited that I can bring a fresh pair of eyes to the team." She said, looking up as Agent Hotch came out of his office.

"Briefing in five," He said into the nest, heading inside of the conference room.

Spencer nodded a little. "Gideon has a way of bringing everyone in," He smiled, standing to head into the conference room.

She looked up and nodded ,"He does, he is a good man, I don't know where I'd be right now without him," she murmured as she picked up her notebook and a pen. "So, does this mean we have a case?" she asked him curiously.

Morgan nodded,"It's always a good thing, they see somethings differently than we do,"

"It does," Spencer said, grabbing a notepad and standing. "J.J. usually takes care of the cases coming in and decides which one we take, and when she's decided, we meet to be briefed and then fly out." He said, taking a seat around the table and waiting for everyone to file in.

Eli grabbed her notebook and followed everyone in, taking a seat over on the side. She assumed they were getting ready for a case, and she was a nervous excitement. She knew that this was what she wanted, but each case was more and more grisly than the last.

She nodded a little as she sat down at the table and crossed her legs as JJ began to speak telling them about the eight murders. "I'm curious why they only contacted us now, there are eight murders that they know of is there something falling into place as a signature?" she asked as she looked at the file she was handed.

"She's right, they waited a long time to call for help, what changed?" he said asked

"They thought they could handle it on their own," J.J shrugged, pointing to the pictures on the screen. "This unsub goes after women, however there doesn't seem to be a sexual aspect about the way he kills. He kidnaps, tortures and mutuliates, before dumping the body at the bar they were last seen in. He also leaves notes, along with the bodies."

Eli nodded as she listened. "Notes could be a sign of remorse, or taunting depending on what's said."

"They could, but it seems like this unsub is neither apologetic or gloating," Spencer said to the room. "The way it's written is almost monotonic. Like he..."

"He's completely apathetic." Eli added, looking at th epictures.

"Wouldn't the torture and mutilation be signs of sexual sadism, there are cuts and lacerations all over their bodies; what if he is impotent that could be a factor in how he tortures and all these girls are extremely beautiful so maybe he was rejected," she murmured softly as she licked her lips.

Derek nodded, "This could be a sexual sadist, but there is no other sign of sexual assault - to cuts to the genitals or breast it looks like he completely avoided those parts of the body,"

Eli nodded a little at Callie. "That's true, that could be his stressor." She said, pointing to the bodies. "There has to be a connection between the bars. If you look, the first eight victims were all found at four different bars, two victims per bar. Maybe he was rejected at the bars he met the girls at."

"Rejection often is a stressor and can be what caused our guy to snap. All of these women were beautiful, so there has to be a connection there. Why these women, and why these bars." Spencer said, nodding as he looked through the pictures.

"Garcia," Spencer said, picking up the phone. "See if you can find any connection at all between the victims,"

"Of course, my liege." She said, typing away on her computer. "It seems all of the girls, ages 20-25 were all out celebrating with friends, but girls stay in packs, how was the unsub able to get her on her own?"

"She met a guy," Eli murmured. "That's the only reason I could think of leaving friends. "Which means he's also handsome because women wouldn't go with someone who wasn't, not immediately like that."

Callie nodded a little,"Makes sense, so he is good looking yet has a sense of insecurity when it comes to rejection - so maybe there is something wrong with him that made them reject him," she said to them lightly.

"What if he can get started but either can't stay aroused or finishes too soon, something that causes the women to upset him in some way," Morgan said to them with a furrowed brow.

"That could definitely be it, maybe because he is impotent in that case, that the sexual release he needs is in the torture of his victims." Eli murmured, looking at the pictures.

"Alright, plane leaves in an hour, we're meeting with the police chief at noon." Hotch said, grabbing his breifcase.

Spencer nodded, picking up his folder and his notepad, and heading back to the nest. "Is your bag packed?" He asked Callie as they walked.

She nodded,"Yep," she said to him smiling a little, "Gideon informed me of the go bag," she said to him as she grabbed her bag. "Weeks worth of clothes, full sized products I use on a daily basis even doubles of the makeup I use at home," she laughed a little.

"I'm never one to be ... under prepared," she said to him as she walked with him.

Derek sighed a little as he stretched then went to his desk to grab his go bag that he kept under his desk.

Eli grabbed grabbed her bag and stood, heading towards the landing strip. "So how often do you get cases like these?" She asked Derek as they walked towards the plane.

Spencer nodded a little. "That's good, being prepared makes it easier to adust so the only thing you arent ready for is whatever the unsub throws at you."

She nodded a little,"Exactly," she said to im smiling a little, "it gives me peace of mind too," she said to him.

He sighed a little,"Every week or so, depends on how quick we finish the current case,""

"I see," She nodded, walking towards the jet. "How did you get started at the B.A.U.?" She asked, climbing on board the plane.

"So you knew Agent Gideon? He's meeting us there, he had a meeting with someone nearby and just drove the rest of the way." He said nodding a little. "I saw your files, you're pretty impressive." He said. "So you'll be working on the boards with me."
