Hiya! And happy early Halloween. I thought I would make this thread for those who are planning on entering NaNoWriMo this year (like me) because as we all know, after Halloween, NaNoWriMo starts.

For those of you who are new to NaNoWriMo, NaNoWriMo is a month long event that takes place in November. The full name is National Novel Writing Month. But everyone calls it NaNoWriMo for short. From November 1 til November 30th, participants try writing 50,000 words in 30 days. For more information, you can go to the site here.

It's not a competition, just a fun thing to do and to get you motivated to write and keep on a deadline. Some people might call it a practice run for becoming a real writer but it's just nothing more than a fun thing to do. The site itself has loads of stuff to help you in this month of Nano Planning. So sharpen your pencils, boot up your computers, and dust off those notebooks that you've been filling with ideas for the past year and get to planning!

Here, you can leave the title of your novels (Links if you're posting it on Mibba or another site) and leave a link to your Nano account so you can get some Nano buddies. ^^

So what story are you using as your novel?

I know I should edit the original post but the original post is long enough as it is with my rambling so I decided on entering my Nano info in this second post.

Anyways, hi, I'm Hina and my Nano name on the Nano site is Tygra’s Kitten Kori. Feel free to add me as a writing buddy. I've done Nanowrimo for the past three or four years and I won both 2012 and 2014 with my longest running story:
    Last Life

I honestly don't know what story idea I'm gonna use but I am planning out a few stories just in case I actually do enter NaNoWriMo or come into it a bit late. God knows I might switch out stories constantly like i did for the last two years in a row. lmfao

So maybe anyone in this thread can help me choose?
    Last Life (A ThunderCats fanfic)
Starlight (Sirius-centered Marauder era Harry Potter fanfic)
Ashes of the Phoenix (An original fantasy coming of age story)
Frozen Eclipse (Another coming of age fantasy story)

Hm... I'll most probably start off with a story I've been planning for quite some time. It's called Brothers. (:

Hi! I'm Bo, I'm a novice when it comes to NaNoWriMo, since this will be my first year participating! I'm excited nonetheless. My nano user is gravel road and the story that I'll be writing is No Rest For the Wicked. It's kind of an idea that I've had for a while that I'm so exciting to start writing.

I've done NaNoWriMo 2012, 13, 14, and I hope to do it this year as well. I've won every year I've participated (and even got to 76,000) last year, and I'd really like to do it again. I just have no idea what to write, though. I've been watching a lot of Game of Thrones so I really wanna write a High Fantasy, but I am completely blank on any ideas for it. I still have a month though.

Hi, I'm Raveena! I've only done NaNo once (I think it was in 2013?) and I failed miserably, but I'm really thinking about doing it this year just for fun, even if I don't win, because why not? My only problem is school and the fact that I have 10 billion other stories that may have to be put on the backburner if I do this. Shifty But here's my profile if anyone wants to be buddies Cute

Hey guys! I'm Sadie and this is my 3rd November NaNo but I've done Camp every year since 2011. If anyone wants to add me here is my profile and this is the story I'm working on. I'm probably going to finish this year since in addition to NaNo, the novel I'm writing is for a school assignment.

What novel/story did you get that many words with? :O The most I ever got was around 60k but that's because i was doing two stories at once. XD

That's cool you won one year. ITs' always a nice feeling to win at least once. <3

It was one I called "Smoke Season"; I wrote the first ~65,000 in like the first two weeks of NaNo, then I proceeded to edit the draft and halfway through editing I hit the 76,000 mark. I also hit a point where I realized there were too many plot holes to cure the story, but I'm super glad I got that much that soon! I didn't reach 76,000 until around day 23 though. I'm hoping to get 100,000 words this year.

Hey friends, my name's Lizz and I wasn't originally planning to do NaNo this year because school tends to get in the way, but due to some circumstances that came up I've decided I need to immerse myself in something, so NaNo it is. I've done NaNo three (I think? Or four?) times before, and I've never won, but I've gotten at least one good story out of it and that's really all I care about. I'm not really looking to win this year, because I find I get too stressed out if I try insanely hard to reach the word count. I just want to use it to motivate me to actually write something, and if I end up getting close to 50,000, that'd be super cool.

I'm thinking that I might go with a sci-fi story that I'm writing for a contest, but have been wanting to write for a long time. It's going to take some planning though, so hopefully I can get that all sorted out before November.

ANYWAYS. If you want to be buddies, my profile is here!

    Hiya guys!

I've been doing NaNo since 2005 (I was only nine?? What the heck, I am a super nerd) and I always make the word count but I never finish the stories. Blah, I'm so bad at finishing things. Anyway, I'm really excited to participate again this year because it's always so much fun for me, and a great way to relieve stress. It should go really well since I'm also really planning it this time around; I already have my characters and setting picked, but I have no clue what to do with my plot yet. Oops.

Anyway, I think I've added everyone that's already posted. But in case I missed you, here I am! Feel free to add me and hit me up, because I love the encouragement and the friendships that come from NaNo Cute

That's a pretty good feate! And that story title sounds poetic. ^^ Do you think you'll ever go back to the story someday and just maybe revise it to fix the plotholes for good? I'm also aiming for that much since the story I'm using for Last Life is already at 52k (give or take a few words) so I'm hoping to add another 50k or so it.

    @ finn collins.
Hi Liz, I'm Hina. How're you doing? Cute That's good. It's always best to not stress out about meeting the word count and do as much as you can in the manner you're most comfortable with. As a matter of fact, I think a lot of the pep talks you'll get will mention not to force yourself to do too much at one time or you'll burn out too soon. At least, I got a peptalk pm on the site that said last year. :)

A scifi story sounds great. It's rare that we get to see/read a scifi story on here. ^^

    @ sindie synclayre
Hiya! Wow, you've done Nanowrimo since you're nine? Cheese I've only been doing it since I was 21 (mainly because i didn't know what nanowrimo was before then XD). I have the same problem of not being able to finish a story. As a matter of fact, my current Nano novel is the same one I've used for the past two or three years and it's only half way done.

I'll add you as a Nanowrimo buddy (if i hadn't already) in a second. Cute What kind of setting do you have picked for your novel?

I think I'm late to the party, but I'm Nikki, and I just decided I was doing Nano this year since my ego took a blow with it last year. (I'm Nikki_Richardson on the Nano website btw.)

This will be my fourth or fifth year participating I believe and I currently don't know what I'm going to be working on. I usually decide within the last 2 weeks of October.
