We Get So Disconnected

Alice climbed out of her brother's car with a sigh. In truth, she wasn't really looking forward to this vacation - mostly because it would be spent with her overprotective older brother. Well, most of it, anyways. Her parents would be coming soon, perhaps in a couple of days. Her parents never really were good at keeping proper schedules when it came to spending time with their children - they were usually too occupied with keeping up with their work schedules instead. It honestly was tiresome, but Alice had gotten used to the lack of her parents' presence a long time ago. Shaking the thought away, she followed her brother inside to verify their arrival so that they could be shown to where they would be staying.

Even though he and his friends would be working, Mikey was beyond excited to be where they were. Plus, they would be getting good money for the work they'd be doing, so it was worth it - especially given how cool everything looked. Having just dealt with orientation that provided a basic rundown of the various things that they'd be doing, they were sent out to get started. Though he wasn't entirely sure what he was supposed to be doing right now, he supposed he could wander around until somebody asked him to do something - or until he ran into the manager and could properly ask what he should be doing. But, then, that might not seem like the best idea, given that he might seem incompetent. Shrugging the thought aside, he turned his attention ahead.

Nora sighed as she pulled up at the country club that her dad owned. He had forgotten his wallet again and her mother had asked her to bring it to him. It was her last summer at home until college started and she wanted to do stuff with her summer. Not be wasting time at the country club she basically grew up at. She sighed again as she walked to her dad's office. She stopped when she noticed a boy with blonde hair wondering around and looking like he didn't have a clue in the world. Nora laughed to herself before deciding she would give him something to do, "Excuse me do you work here?" She asked him, "Because if so I could really use your help. I'm trying to find Grayson Steele's office. He's the owner."

Ashton finished orientation with the lads and he was sent to help the guest check in to where they would be staying at the country club. He noticed a girl about his age and a guy walk in with some bags. Ashton quickly walked over to them, "Hi welcome to the Steele Country Club. I'm Ashton. I can check you both in and show you to your temporary house for however long you will be staying with us." Ashton said as he walked over to the check in desk, "I just need a last name to check you both in under."

Cole, Alice's brother, frowned deeply at the guy's greeting and stared at him. "We're regulars here. Everybody knows that," he said bluntly, a low scoff passing his lips. Sighing, Alice offered an apologetic smile to the boy. "Sorry, you're probably new, but I'm sure you'll get used to my brother's horribly rude personality," she said before tilting her head, "We should have the same temporary house as usual. It's under Martin." She ignored the slightly rough nudge from her brother - who was probably insulted that she called him rude.

It took a moment for Mikey to realize that the girl was talking to him. Blinking, he thought over if he knew where the office was - they had been shown where it was, of course, but he had learned quite a bit about how to help the guests since then. "Mr. Steele's office?" he repeated before nodding as he remembered. "I can show you the way," he told her with a small grin before he turned and began leading the way. "Have you been here before? I only just started today, but I assume you're a guest or something, right?" Or he could be wrong, he wasn't sure.

Nora smiled at the boy, looking to his nametag. Michael. It fit him really well. "I guess you say I'm sort of a guest." she replied as they walked towards her father's office. It wasn't a lie persay. She basically grew up in the country club. So she technically was a guest there, "I'm Nora by the way." she stated. They neared her dad's office. She knocked before the door opened, "Nora! What are you doing here?" her dad questioned. "You forgot your wallet this morning." She replied. He smiled and shook his head, "I swear if it wasn't for you I would forget where I put my head before realizing it was screwed in on. Thank you Nora." he said. She smiled, "Welcome dad." she replied before glancing over at Michael.

Ashton was a bit taken back by the guys words before he smiled at the girl, "Yeah sorry. It's my first day." He admitted before he searched the last name and nodded before checking them in. "Alright you are all checked in. I can bring you a cart for your luggage if you would like" He suggested, more to the girl because she seemed nicer and less likely to yell at him.

A small, mischievous smile pulled at Alice's lips and she tilted her head. "Wouldn't it be more fun to just make him carry it all?" she asked, her tone joking. She was pretty sure it earned her a glare from Cole, though. "Alice," his tone was a warning, but she knew that he wouldn't actually do anything except possibly lecture her later - or complain, really. Sighing, she relented. "Fine, fine. Yes, a cart would be wonderful, thank you," she hummed out before turning to look at Cole, who was watching her with a stern expression.

Michael found himself in utter shock with the revelation. He tried not to stare, though his eyes had widened in the slightest with the new knowledge that this girl was his boss' daughter. If that wasn't bad enough, he was pretty sure that it would have seemed like he was slacking. Was that why the girl asked him to show her the way? To give him something to do, because he hadn't been doing anything in the first place? He couldn't bring himself to talk at the moment and instead tried to avoid gaping.

Nora smiled at her dad before she noticed that he was looking, discretely, at Michael. Nora could already feel the judgment coming from her dad. Nora rolled her eyes slightly. Her dad was so judgmental sometimes about other guys that Nora might talk to. If the kid didn't look perfect her dad was going to judge him. Nora smiled again, "Well I'm going to be off then. I will see you later at home, Dad. Love you." She said quickly before she hugged her dad and then turned away, looking at Michael, "Hi." She said with a smile. She wouldn't admit this aloud but he was really good looking.

Ashton had to bite his cheek not to laugh at Alice's words, "I will go fetch you a cart." He said with a smile before he walked away and grabbed a cart, wheeling it over to the two and started putting their luggage on it. He smiled again at Alice, trying not to focus on her brother. Ashton felt like he could get on well with Alice. She seemed very down to earth and someone that he could be friends with.
