Taylor sat in the cramped, dirty cage as he awaited his fate. The hunters had come to his family's farm and killed all but him, his two brothers, and one sister. They were the only ones deemed useful and able to sell. On the monster black market there were plenty of rich folk willing to buy werewolves, usually for protection, so they had to be the biggest, most fit, and best looking. When the auction arrived it irritated Taylor even more, he wasn't some type of pet to be sold, he was something with feelings and emotions just like the rest of them. He knew it was inevitable. His idea was to push his luck the first week or so, see how much he can get away with with his masters, and use that weakness against them, use it to get away. He hoped it was a sane family, not a phsycotic one or one wanting to experiment in him. About half way through the auction was when Taylor was brought out to be bought.

Thornhill Manor was where Evelyn called home. A grand house for a grand family, as it were. Her father had inherited a long-lasting business, and thus inherited the wealth along with it. Today, Evelyn awaited her father's return. He had left for a business some weeks back, and had promised her a gift on his way back. Being the only child, Evelyn's father was concerned for a well-being as well as her mental health. Despite being a particularly stern man, he was quite vacant from his daughter's life and worried that she might become depressed from loneliness. And so, he had decided that the perfect gift would be a werewolf. A little more ambitious than a dog, but much more reliable as protection.

The father stood among the black market audience, and when Taylor was brought out, his gaze fixated. He hoped to find one that did not put up much of a fight on the stand, and this one seemed to fit the bill. Perfect. He placed his payments, and called his daughter.

"Evelyn, would you mind taking those boxes out of the far spare room?" he asked, "I have a gift."

Evelyn did as she was told, but pondered; why the spare room? Her father was on his way home now, and she anticipated his return. Closer to the time of arrival, she opened the front doors, and waited, perching on the doorstep in eager curiosity.

Taylor was cramped in the back seat of the car, in a cage much too small for his liking. Every so often he would let out a deep growl that rose from his chest. He had refused to change into his human form, As a wolf his stature was massive. He was much larger than a normal wolf, and could be much more aggressive. After about an hour of the ride he gave up trying to intimidate and scare her father. Deciding to lay down and sleep.

When they arrived at the manor, the small bump into the driveway woke him, as well as the can be in acceleration. He jumped up in the cage as much as he could, his tail wagging a bit. Taylor was excited to get out of the cage. He didn't care at the moment as long as he got out of the cage. When the car stopped and the back of the car was opened he let out a series of small barks, pawing at the cage door to be let out. I wanna be let out, I don't care what he's gonna have me for, just let me out man. he thought to himself. When Taylor took a couple sniffs in the air he pondered where they might be. Smells fake. I smell perfume, and clean clothing. I small trees too, but not old, they seem well kept from the few I can see. When he was finally out of the cage Taylor jumped up on her father, licking his face.

As the car pulled up, Evelyn stood from her perch, going on her tiptoes to try and peer into the windows. She greeted her father with a hug, and after a brief hello she stood and waited as he opened the boot of the car.

Evelyn's eyes widened as a cage was dragged out from the boot and onto the floor. Inside, was a wolf? She took a couple of steps back from the cage, distancing herself in slight wariness. "Fath--- is that...?" she was interrupted as the creature jumped up at her father, and she took another startled step back. It almost gave her a slight sense of relief, as the face-licking suggested to Evelyn that the wolf was friendlier than it looked (or perhaps she was mistaken). "I don't understand, this is what you've bought me? I..."

"For protection," her father said, sounding slightly frustrated as he shoved the beast off of him. "I'm not particularly fond of leaving you alone, but I'm sure a tamed beast will put my mind at rest."
Evelyn's expression remained bewildered, even as she was handed a chain leash. "Come, take him to the room, then."
She nodded once, giving the chain a gentle pull. "Um... come on, doggy." she stammered, unsure of what to think. She followed her father to the spare room.

"Why are we keeping him in the far bedroom? What about the kennels that were built?"
"Trust me Evelyn, I'm sure he'd prefer this room."
    "Oh... What's his name?"
    "Why don't you ask him?"

And with that, her father left to return his belongings from his car. Evelynn remained blank, her thoughts a complete mess. She didn't expect anything like this. She looked at the creature and remained slightly on edge; she had always been wary around dogs, but this... She assumed him to be just a wolf, but he was huge. Wolves weren't usually this big, were they? "I... I suppose this is uncomfortable." She reached out slowly, and carefully, attempted to remove the choke chain from around the wolf's neck.

Taylor didn't put up much of a fight as the two led him into a bedroom. He pawed around the room, sniffing each corner, crack, and crevice. Taylor didn't like not knowing about his surrounding, so he settled for his high sense of smell to let him learn. When Evelyn went to take his chain off he bowed his head, once again not resisting. Why would he? That thing was a pain, and it would come off if he turned anyway.

Taylor wanted to speak with her, he's sure it would surprise her to just transform here. So he waited. He nudged her a bit, waiting until she faced the other way. Taylor then walked to the small bed and turned himself, back in his human form. He grabbed the sheet off the bed and wrapped it around his waist. "Taylor. My name is Taylor." He said with a grin. Taylor was just over six feet tall. He had a broad, stocky build. His body was toned with muscle, and had a farmers tan. He ran a strong hand through his hair to fluff it up a bit, it always seed thicker after he turned back. Taylor winked at Evenlyn and grinned like a fool at the surprise on her face

Evelyn draped the chain onto the floor, not breaking her eye contact with the wolf. She moved very carefully, worried that she might provoke the beast. She backed up a little, hoping to leave the room and ask her father some questions, but shortly after she turned, she jumped at the sound of a voice.

Turning quickly, she yelped and stumbled backwards at the sight of a man. "Y-y-you... you're human?" she pressed her back against the wall in shock, thoughts rushing through her head. She had heard tales of the black market and their beasts before, but she had never seen one. "No... werewolf?" her voice had been reduced to that of a small whimper, as she struggled to gather the words to speak. She took a few deep breaths, and relaxed herself slightly. "Father bought me... a werewolf..." she whispered to herself. It took her a few moments to suddenly realise that Taylor lacked clothes because of his transformation, and even with the bedsheets, she found herself seering red with embarrassment and averted her gaze to stare at the wall to her left.

Taylor let out a deep laugh. Her embarrassment was clear, and it was quite cute to be honest. "Yup. Part wolf part man." He said and took a step towards her. "Please don't be scared of me, I'm not an evil beast. And I'm hoping your father will give me some clothing, because this doesn't seem to be cutting it with you." He said and laughed again.

Taylor looked down at himself and laughed again. "I mean I can stay in my wolf form, but then we can't communicate well. Although I'm sure your father wouldn't want that." He said and rolled his eyes. "Wouldn't want his oh so precious daughter communicating with a hideous beast like me, right? I'm just here to protect you from suitors." He said gruffly. His emotion had changed dramatically from a peppy, excited guy, to a bit angry and depressed. His family had been his life before he had been bought and sold to other rich men. Many had him as a guard, and when they caught him associating with other family members. He was sold back. Taylor just wanted to feel normal, and he never could if he could, not communicate and make connections with people.

"I.. I'm not scared." Evelyn lied, still refusing to look his way. A frown formed slightly on her expression as his tone darkened. "Protect me from suitors? I'm quite capable, I'll have you know." she said defensively, "Besides, no one can hurt me, no one would dare... I don't think..." she added with a tone of uncertainty. Whilst she was an overly nice person, it was difficult to ignore how sheltered she was. Having lived an overly protected and spoilt life, she had almost convinced herself that no harm could ever come her way, not by the hands of people, at least. Not if they knew who her father was.

"Oh... And yes, clothes," she began, shifting towards the door. "I-- I'll see what I can find." She backed out of the door and shut it behind her, taking a second to breathe deeply. She was still struggling to fathom what had happened in such a short period of time. She wandered down the corridors to the other spare room, where clothes were kept for the occasions where her cousins visited. She carried an assorted pile of clothing back with her; t-shirts, shirts, trousers, jeans, whatever she could find, and knocked gently on the door upon returning. Why was she knocking? This was her house. She puffed her chest out a little in a feeble attempt at showing authority; after all, her father had bought him. "I... Here, I don't know if they'll fit you, but I'm sure we can get some others if they don't."

She had forgotten about his clotheless condition, and made brief eye contact with him before turning away quickly in embarassment. "I'll leave you to it, then..." she began, "There's a sitting room two rooms down the hall... I'll be in there, when you're done." she turned and left again, sighing gently as she closed the door. He was incredibly tall, and handsome. She shook the thoughts from her head, she shouldn't be thinking such things.

Taylor laughed as she left the room, this girl certainly was not able to hide her embarrassment, and other emotions well. He thought it was cute. As Taylor waited for her to return, with his clothing, he wandered around the room again, checking it out with his human senses this time around. He realized it was very basic, had the minimum living conditions for which he would need. There was a small fridge with some basic food and water, a small bed, and a table with a drawer for his clothing.

When Evelyn returned he jumped slightly, taking the clothing from her. "Sweetheart." He snickered. "Im a wolf, I know dominance poses, and how to be a dominant figure." He walked over and took the clothes from her hands, a grin on his face. He puffed out his chest too, and used his height. "Don't worry though, I'll let you think you're in charge." He said with a wink.

When Evelyn left he dropped the sheets, and pulled on the clothes. The tee shirt he chose was tight fighting, showing his muscled form well. He couldn't find a fitting pair of pants, so he found some sweatpants that would do for now. They were tight on his legs too, and just a it short. He walked out into the room she had said, taking a seat besides Evelyn. "I'm back, and about as dressed as I can be."

Evelyn sat herself down in a slightly worse mood, seeing as she was somewhat being belittled by something her father had bought her. When he entered the room and sat down, her frown stayed the same, yet she still couldn't retain eye contact. "You're incredibly cocky, for a pet." she stated, being quite blunt with the insult. Even whilst sitting down, she found herself having to look up at him. As if she didn't feel inferior enough already, her height of 5'3 wasn't helping her situation. And with his overly confident attitude, she almost felt like the pet.

"My name is Evelyn," she eventually told him, pausing for a moment. "Or Eve, if you prefer." She looked at the opposite wall for a second as she thought. "But... Father doesn't like people calling me that..." She murmured, her voice fading off towards the end. Her sheltered and strict upbringing dictated that she must refer to her father as father, not dad, or any other 'common' alias. "I suppose he would want me to... Show you what your duties are, but I'm not really sure myself..." She wasn't much of a leader, but she could be quite pretentious when trying to verbally defend herself.

Taylor knew he had already gotten under her skin. He was enjoying it. Sure he had been bought, but to him it was his job to try and get out of this trade circus. "Pets can't feel cocky. Human's with feelings however can." He said and winked playfully again. Taylor knew she felt small compared to him, he was massive much due to his genes. He did however believe himself to be genetically superior, and that's why he wanted out of this so badly. When Eve tried looking up at him he laid back on the couch so they were eye level to one another.

Taylor grinned gently when she spoke that name. "That's a very pretty name." He said softly and genuinely. He raised an eyebrow when she said her father didn't like her being called Eve, and the fact she only called him father. "How come?" He asked, his facial expressions were the easiest way to tell how Taylor felt. The wolf in him was the cause of that. That's how wolves communicated, body language and expressions. When she spoke again Taylor shrugged. "He said something about me being your guard pet pretty much., he said and shrugged once more. "Not sure either. I mean I am a good home security system. But does he only want me I wolf, or an I allowed to keep a beautiful girl company?"

Evelyn couldn't help but smile, ever so slightly. She glanced out the window at the sound of a car engine; her father was probably running an errand. He was always out. "He says that Evelyn is a name of 'radiance,' or something," she began to explain. "And that 'Eve' taints it, as Eve was the name of The Whore of Babylon, Eve who took the apple, committed the first sin!" she frowned and made a mocking hand gesture, vaguely imitating her father. She sighed gently. "He's not even religious you know, I just don't think he likes the name Eve." She stared into space for a moment. Evelyn had a habit of babbling on and digressing from conversation, and more often than not, she would forget what she was even talking about. She reached up and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, still looking into space. She had never liked her hair being past her shoulders; too much work. It was incredibly thick and tangled easily, and would be much more of a mess if it were long.

She gave him a look of unsureness when he complimented her, worried that letting her guard down might lead her into a bit of trouble. She couldn't hide the tiny flush of pink on her cheeks, though. "I suppose father would like you as a guard dog, really..." she began, taking a moment to think. "But... If I had a human escort, he might be more lenient with me. He's not to fond of me going anywhere by myself, even when he's on business trips he insists that everything I need be delivered here." Evelyn's freedom of movement was restricted by her father's belief that everyone was out to get her. A trip to the corner shop seemed like a flight abroad to him.

Taylor chuckled as she mocked her father. He had only been acquainted with him for a short time, the way her father spoke to himself in the car had conveyed the same message to him that Eve was now. "Adam ate the apple too." He snickered and leaned back into the couch. "Although I don't really believe any of that, us werewolves have what would be considered a spirituality rather than a religion. It's really cool." He said and grinned at Evelyn once again. "Speaking of food, can I have some. I don't think I've eaten in the past three days." He said as if that was a casual, every day occupancy for people. With him it was. Ever since he had been brought into this trade circle Taylor had learned how to death with starvation for days.

Taylor raised an eyebrow when she spoke of how protective her father was over her. Then let out a deep, rumbling laugh. "You've gotta be kidding me. Not even my father was that protective, and he's a werewolf." He said and rolled his eyes. "God that man is crazy." He said and shook his head. "Ill be whatever I was bought to be. I'm sure I could make a good escort though. I'm a nice piece of arm candy. I'm pretty big and intimidating too." He said and chuckled. "Also the whole wolf strength thing could help out if anyone was actually after you."
