So tell me what your best friend knows.

Marlene was filled with mixed emotions as she made her way onto platform nine and three-quarters for the last time. It didn't feel like it had been that long since she was making her way onto the platform with James by her side for the first time and now here she was seven years later James still by her side. But there were so many more friends by her side now as well, and they were friendships she'd been building for the last seven years. One of the things that stood out above everything else though was how anxious she was. And she knew it wasn't just the good anxious for a long train ride to Hogwarts where there would be lots of amazing conversations. But it was also the bad anxious because of what might happen with her and Sirius. Of course, she'd thought they were friends who told each other things and he hadn't even told her that he'd decided to leave home and live with James. Which she was glad that he was happy with his living situation for once in his life, but the fact that he never told her how bad his home had really gotten made her feel like he didn't really trust her as much as he said he did. Which of course caused a fight between the two of them. And she hated that because Sirius meant more to her than she could explain. Plus the fight had distracted her from the good news she'd had for James and Sirius, so she hadn't even told either of them about her plans to become an Auror after Hogwarts yet. Really before she could tell them though she knew things needed to be fixed between her and Sirius.

"So tell me again what you and Marls are fighting about this time? Because I'm not quite sure I understand," James said looking over at his best friend Sirius with a tad bit of confusion on his face. All he'd really gotten from the last week was that Marlene and Sirius had apparently gotten into some huge fight over something and it was kind of starting to get old. James hated when his friends fought, especially when it his two best friends fighting. And what he really hated about them fighting aside from him always being pulled into the middle was that they both clearly wanted to be more than friends but they weren't. So it was like every time they fought about something they fought about it like they were a couple even though they weren't. Honestly, it was times like these that made James want to set up some kind of elaborate scheme or something to get them together so maybe things would change. Of course, if that did happen he'd have to set up some rules for them to follow, like no making out in front of him. Because while they were his best friends and he wanted them to be happy, he also had always seen Marlene as a sister and Sirius as a brother so that'd be a little weird. Plus as much as he loved Sirius, Marlene had been a huge part of his life for so much longer that a lot of times he felt like he had to protect her from things. Even though she was more than capable of doing that on her own, and she three older brothers not including himself to protect her if she really needed them.
