Bat Country

"Who's Nathan," Zack asked. "Your boss?" If the man was he was sure he could knock him down a few pegs. If there was one thing Zack hated it was a human who was overly cocky. Before the laws had become more strict about vampire and human interactions those were the people he didn't hesitate to rip limb from limb as a lesson to others.

"What do you do for a living," Rachel asked. "I don't mean to be so forward but I don't know many places that allow so many visible tattoos or a mohawk." The only places she could think of were tattoo and piercing shops but he didn't give off that type of vibe to her even if he did look the part.

"I work at a record label," he said to her smiling a little, "Mostly working with some friends of mine but sometimes I help in the studio," he told her as he looked at her.

"Is there a dream job you want?" he asked her curiously, he oddly enough wanted to know more about her so he was going to milk ever second of her time that he could.

She nodded a little, "I think he thinks I'm going for his position but I don't want his shitty job, I want to have my own section of the build and be above him," she grinned a little, "So I mean I guess he has reason to worry but he has the ego the size of china its ridiculous," she muttered.

Ever since she'd turned Nathan down on a date he'd been a dick to her, and it was seriously getting out of hand. She knew if she didn't talk to someone from HR soon it might end up in her getting fired instead of the man who was the issue.

"Have you talked to your HR people about him," Zacky questioned. "If I were you I'd make sure he's not making lies up about you to get you fired." People like the guy Nathan that Rosalie was talking about were always spineless cowards who had other people do their dirty work. He wouldn't be surprised if the dirt bag wasn't trying to turn the whole office against the brunette because of something stupid or petty.

"For a long time I wanted to go back to school and get my degree so I could work with animals," Rachel admitted. "But after my mom died and my dad got sick all the money and plans went away and I ended up here." She poured herself a glass of water, quickly serving another person at the bar before she went back over to Johnny and stood in front of him again.

"I plan on it, I'm just plain tired of being used to be honest, I like my job but at this rate I'll end up getting demoted for something ridiculous," she muttered as she took a large gulp of her beer, "I better stop drinking or I won't be able to drive," she murmured as she finished off her fries.

"Well if all else fails, I can become a model, " she grinned a bit as she looked at him to let him know she was definitely joking.

He nodded a little, "I see, well I know things will work out for you - I mean, all things happen for a reason even if they seen wrong or stupid they always have a reason," he told her as he looked up at her.

"Do you have any questions about my state of being? Usually people have tons of questions," he said as he looked at her.

"You really could," Zack agreed. "You're the right height and body type." He knew she was joking but in a subtle way he wanted her to know just how beautiful he thought she was. She could model a trash bag and make it look good in his opinion. "I can always pay for a cab to take you home if you want," he offered.

"Do you mean about being a vampire," Rachel asked. She simply shrugged and took a drink of her glass of water. "If you wanted to tell me something I'm sure you would." She rested her elbows on the bar and leaned her chin on her hands. "What do people normally ask you?"

He snorted a little as he sighed, "What do I eat, how often, and how do I know when I'm hungry," he said snorting a little at the main questions and how stupid they were. "Do we mate for life, and do we have attachments to our makers," he said as he looked at her.

"Some of them are quite.. stupid," he muttered. "But there are a few good questions like the last one, which we kind of do but some of us actually hate them,."

She smiled a little, "Thank you," she said to him, "I do appreciate the offer, but getting drunk isn't going to do me well for tomorrow. I have to be up early for lunch with a friend," she told him lightly as she looked at him.

Zack nodded. "I understand," he replied. "Friends and hangovers never mix." He knew that for a fact especially with how rowdy his friends got if they weren't hungover and you were.

"It makes sense that you have an attachment," Rachel replied. "They made you what you are. Just like most people have an attachment to their actual parents because they helped make them." She looked at the clock behind Johnny on the wall and bit down on her lip as she tried to think of how to word what she wanted to say next. "I like talking to you," she stated. "I get off in like five minutes. Can we keep talking after that?"

Rosalie smiled a little, "I had a good time talking to you tonight, " she admitted, "But I think I'm going to head home for the night, maybe I'll see you here again soon?" she offered as she tipped the bartender. Truth be told - she didn't want to leave, in fact she could have probably talked with Zacky easily for another couple of hours, but she needed to get some sleep before it was time to get up. Her friend was ruthless when it came to being on time, so there was no room for being late.

He nodded, "Sure, I 'd like that a lot actually," he smiled at her, "Maybe I can buy you something to eat at a diner near by?" he offered as he looked at her.

"I'll be here again tomorrow night if you want to see me again," Zacky spoke. He honestly wanted to see her again. Something about Rosalie felt relaxing and soothing for him.

"They have good food there," Rachel smiled. "Owners aren't too found of vampires though." She bit down on the inside of her cheek before she decided to make a knee jerk decision. "How about we just go back to my place," she suggested. "That way I can eat and we can talk more."

He looked at her, "If you're sure you want me in your home ,then thats fine," he said to her smiling a little as he looked at her. He was kind of curious about what her place looked like - he could see a sense of style from her clothes but he didn't know what to expect of her home.

She nodded, "I'll come by around six or seven then," she said to him smiling a little as she stood up, "It was really nice meeting you tonight," she smiled at him as she gathered her things up.

"It was nice meeting you too Rosalie," Zack admitted. It really was for him too. She seemed like first genuine women he had met in a very very long time. He just hoped when the time came for him to tell her he was a vampire she didn't freak out on him or change around him because of it.

"You don't give off that vibe like you plan on killing me so I don't mind," Rachel replied. "We can even stop by the groccery store and get some AB- for you if you want."

She smiled and walked out to her car, she pulled her keys out of her purse and began to unlock her car. She heard something behind her but before she could turn around she was shoved flat against her car and pain shot through her body - she screamed as it was the only defense she had in her current position.

He smiled a little, "Aright, sounds good," he said to her smiling a little, "I'll wait here for you let me know when you're ready," he said to her. Johnny's head turned quickly when he heard a scream.

Zack quickly stood up when he heard the scream, panic filling him when he smelt blood, her blood. He knew something had happened to Rosalie and quickly rushed to find her. He found her quickly, pressed against her car with a vampires fangs in her neck. The dark haired vampire quickly killed the feeding vampire before biting his wrist and forced some of his own blood into her mouth. Zack knew his blood could heal her while the scent of her own blood was making his fangs throb painfully in his mouth.

Rachel frowned, watching as a man quickly left the bar and could tell the whole atmosphere of the bar went back to normal for the most part a few moments later. No one at the bar ever did anything to stop violence unless it was in the bar and it was vampires. The brunette decided to clock out a few minutes early, letting her boss know before she grabbed all her things.

"I'm ready whenever you," she stated.

He nodded a little, "I'm just going to see what was going on real quick," he said, "Then we can go," he smiled a little as he got up onto his feet and walked to the front door looking around, "Shit Zack what happened?" he asked seeing the other male pressing his wrist to the girls mouth - she must have lost a lot of blood - he only hoped zack could hold out. He knew it'd be ages since he had real blood.

Rosalie choked down the blood that was forced down her throat and suddenly the paid was gone, she felt her eyes slowly open and she was met with the face of Zacky - she hadn't even realized he was a vampire. It wasn't that she had anything against them, but she'd never met one before.

"Another vampire attacked her," Zack stated. "I couldn't just let her die." His eyes clenched shut as the smell of blood continued to cause his fans to throb. He took his free hand, collecting some of her blood on his fingers and sucked the red liquid off his fingers. "I'm sorry," Zacky mumbled. He sank his fangs into Rosalie's neck and began drinking her blood.

Rachael bit down on her bottom lip as she felt a few pairs of eyes on her. She quickly slid on her jacket and walked out of the bar, her eyes widening at what she saw. She quickly grabbed a rock and tossed it at the vampire's head. "Stop," she exclaimed. "You'll kill her."

Rosalie gasped as he bit into her and her eyes slammed shut - the pain for some reason was minimal this time. Her body leaned back into him as she felt her eyes growing heavy.

"Zack, man STOP!" he said to the older vampire, the last thing they needed was a dead girl on their hands. He pulled him off her and caught the girl in his arms before she hit the ground. He checked to make sure she wasn't still bleeding then sighed a little as he looked at Rachel.

"Are you okay?" her asked her softly.

Zacky's eyes widened as he quickly realized what he had done. He looked from Johnny to Rosalie and then to the unknown brunette who had thrown a rock at him. "I'm sorry," he mumbled again. "I didn't mean to." He truly meant his apology, he had never lost control like that before and he was extremely embarrassed he had.

Rachel looked from both the vampires to the brunette covered in blood. "We need to get all three of you out of here before someone sees this," she spoke. She quickly unlocked her car which was just two cars away from where the stood, getting into it and moved it to block anyone's few of the scene. She opened her back door, helping the dark haired light eyes vampire get into the back with the unconscious girl. "Do we need to take her to a hospital," Rachael asked Johnny.

"Nah she'll be fine," he said lightly, "A little weak and tired but she should be fine," he told her as he climbed into the passenger seat, "We can take her to Zack's she'll be fine there - did you still want me to come over?" he asked her as he smiled weakly.

"No offense to your friend but I'd rather keep her with me," Rachel replied. She began driving to her place, parking in her driveway and turned the engine off. She looked at the vampire and the brunette in the back seat, biting down on her lip as she thought of what to do. "I have a basement where no light ever gets in. You two can sleep there if you need to." She opened the car door, quickly unlocking her front door before she invited both vampires in.

Zacky carried Rosalie inside the home and carefully placed her on the couch. Her wounds were now all healed thanks to his blood and she still had a heart beat even if it was a faint sounding one. Rosalie would live to see another day.

Johnny nodded a little as he walked into the apartment he took a look around before taking a seat, "When she wakes up she is going to be hungry, like really hungry," he said to her lightly, "and we have five hours till sunrise," he said to her lightly.

He couldn't believe that his friend had lost control like that - he'd never seen him act that way, but he supposed it came with how long he'd been without tasting real blood. When vampires came out of the coffin so to speak - lots of them were happy for the non-human alternative so he understood it but he still had a human meal once a week or so to keep his thirst in check. Then there were vampires like Zacky who he could even remember when they'd had their last sip of human blood.
