Not The Life it Seems

She nodded a little and smiled, "I'm sure she'll be excited about that," she said to him as she folded her hands in front of her, "I had a nice day today as well," she said to him smiling a little. "I have my car at the building so you can drop me off there,"she said as she brushed some hair out of her face.

He smiled a little, "What did he want?" he asked curiously, "You know you can move in as soon as tomorrow," he told her, "I don't know what kind of man he is but I can swear to you I'd never do this to our kids," he told her.

Nodding his head Gregory smiled at her, "Alright." He said helping her into the car. He got in himself and told the driver where to go. He lent back into the seat as he bit on his lip, "Lucille." He began as he looked at her. "Would you like to go on a date?" He asked her. He was kind of nervous on asking her and all.

She smiled lightly hearing his words. It was an offer she was tempted to not refuse. "He's just a real ass." She began shrugging her shoulders. "He thinks if he isn't in control then it isn't any other way than his. And that's how it's always been." She said looking down at her folded hands in her laps. "The moving in is something I am considering on taking you up." She said truthfully. "Just to get out of that damn prison that is supposed to be home." She muttered lightly.

She smiled a little and nodded,"Sure," she said to him as she looked at him then licked her lips - she didn't know why he liked her so much but she hadn't been on a date in so long that it was kind of nice to have a guy holding a steady conversation. The guys her age seemed to me increasingly less and less mature so maybe this would take a turn for the better.

"You can do whatever you want, I do require monogamy though, but thats it," he said shrugging a little, "I'm pretty chill for the most part,"Terran said to her with a small smile

Gregory couldn't help the smile that formed into his lips. "That's great." He said as he saw the building coming into view. "How about I pick you up around eight then?" He asked her and smiled as his car stopped outside of the building. He took and got out and held a hand out to help her out.

She smiled at him as she nodded, "So am I, and I require the same." She said to him and smiled. She couldn't believe how sweet and caring he was. Maybe something good came out of the contract her father had made years ago.

She nodded,"I'll be ready then," she said as she took his hand and stepped out of the car - she gave him her address and smiled, "Don't be late," she teased him smiling a little as she thanked him for the day out.

He nodded,"I can do that," he said to her smiling a little - the last thing he would do is cheat unless they both were okay with being open he didn't plan on seeing anyone else, and besides he liked being with her - why would he want anyone else.

He smiled nodding his head, "I won't be." He told her as he put the address into his pocket. He smiled at her getting in his car as he told the driver to take him home. He enjoyed his time with her. He took and called his lawyer checking on the adoption process of Ariel. He then made reservations for his date with Lucille. He smiled to himself on some what of cloud nine.

She returned the smile and nodded her head. "I guess it's settled then." She said lightly leaning into the table. "Are you truly sure about this though? I mean moving in with you. I know we have to some time and another, but... Are you sure?" She asked him lightly.

Lucia walk to her car and then climbing into the the driver seat - she had had a good time with Gregory but at the same time she was worried that this would get in the way of her career. Sighing she started her car then begin the drive home - the one thing she needed to do right now was finished deciding which project she's going to work on and now with the day gone she know she be working well on to the night considering she had a date. The topic of dating alone scared her, she knew she had to dress up because her father would probably Lynch her if she didn't.

"Yeah I'm sure" Terran he said as he looked at her with a smile he was more than positive that he wanted her around. And the best way to get to know her would be to move her into his home

Once Gregory arrived home. First thing he done was took and called the restaurant he'd planned on going for the date. He then contacted his lawyer checking on everything with the adoption of Ariel. Once he finished up he headed into his office and began doing some work that he needed to do.

She smiled nodding her head. She couldn't wait to do this. Maybe things would get better in her life.

She went home and showered, she curled her hair slightly then pulled on a robe before working for a bit so she could get something done before it was time rto get ready.

Terran smiled at her and licked his lips, "So you done?" he asked motioning to her food, "We can play those games now,"

Lydia smiled at Terran and nodded her head, "I am." She replied to him and smiled pushing her plate away. "The food was good, thank you." She thanked him for the meal and smiled. She was finding herself more so happy than she'd ever been in the longest time she could remember.

Gregory grinned a little to himself as he took and had some flowers sent to Lucille. He smirked to himself after he was done with his shower and began to get ready. He didn't have much longer till their date. He truly couldn't wait. He could see himself being with her. She was truly amazing, and just over all a really great person inside and out.

She heard a knock at her door and got up and opened it, "Oh, thank you," she said to the man who handed her flowers and told her to have a nice day," she shut the door and locked it before walking to the kitchen and setting the vase down. Her phone and rang and she picked it up.

"Hey daddy, yeah I'm just getting ready for a date.." she said to him as she walked into the bathroom.

"With Gregory right?" he said and she could hear the uneasiness in his voice.

"Yeah...why" she asked and began to spray the mist on her face prepping for makeup.

"Good, good - it's just our business is going to florish because of the deal we made today," he said to her excitely.

"just know I did this because I knew you'd never marry on your own- "

"What the hell are you talking about?" she asked him confused.

"The contract bind our companies but only so long as you marry him - he seemed so excited to meet you, that is why I called you over" he said to her.

"Oh," she said softly as she stood there,"so you signed me over to a man for money? Guess I should have known you'd try to pull something like this," she scowled and hung up.

He smiled, "No problem," he said to her, "I can never deny a pretty girl good food," he told her shrugging a bit.

Seeing the building that Lucille had given to him in the directions. He parked on the side and turned the BMW off and climbed out. He took and held the small bouquet of flowers in his hand and headed up to her place. Once he got there he smiled gently knocking on the door and waiting till she came out.

Grinning ear to ear, Lydia just nodded her head. She smiled as she walked out of the place with Terran and got back in the car. She slid her sweater off and lent back into the seat. She glanced at him and smiled, "Earlier you mentioned you were in a band. How come it didn't take off?" She asked him.

She opened the door and I led a little,"when we're you going to tell me I was your property?" She asked hom, her voice was wavering as she looked at him. She quickly out her handson on her hips and looked at him. She was a little more than upset but she wasn't going to yell," was this all a game to you?"

"Well my dad disapproved and we never got signed," he said to her shrugging a bit.

He looked at her, his eyes were furrowed but he kept his cool. He shook his head as he looked at her, "You're not my property. So he said I could have your hand in marriage." He began as he stared at her. "I am glad he did. And no it's no game. I want to get to know you. And whatever leads after that, I want." He assured her.

She frowned as she placed her hand over his, "I am sure you guys were amazing." She tried to assure him as she kept her hand over his. She already could tell she wouldn't like his father. He sounded like a prick, who kept downing Terran for stuff he loved to do.

She stared at him and fought back her laugh before letting out a sigh,"when you don't get to have a choice over a decision making an impact on your life...you're no longer in control of your life. Your decisions belong in the hands of someone you don't know. ..if you had just asked me..I would have done it, I'm not stupid, I'm never going to get married otherwise."she said to him seriously, she was too full of ambition for the men who would try to take her out. Lucille wanted more than a white picket fence: she wanted a legacy.

Arranged marriage was the best option for her.

He smiled as he looked at Lydia,"Thanks babe," he said as he drove to his house. He liked how supportive she was n of everything he truly liked, it wasn't often that someone did this for him.

Gregory stared at her a moment and listened to her. He sighed dropping his head. He felt bad about all this now. He looked up at her and cleared her throat lightly. "Lucille I am truly sorry. I know I should've asked and all." He said as he took and looked at her. "Mind if try to do this over? Since you know now." He said to her and looked at her.

She smiled and nodded her head. She'd support him anything. That was just who she was. She lent back and kept her hand over his. She looked out the window remaining quiet.

She stared at him unsure, she felt betrayed by her father and a man who she thought might be the one, but she nodded she didn't have a choice anymore. ..so she might as well get used to it."let's go then it'd be good not to be late," she said to him softly.

He amiled,"Here we are," he said to her smiling a little.

He nodded his head to her and handed her the flowers as they headed down to the car. He got in and started it up as they took and headed for the restaurant. He took and frowned knowing he'd hurt her. And knew it'd probably take a whole lot to get her trust back more than likely.

Lydia turned her head towards Terran and smiled at him nodding. She glanced up at the home and gaped a little, "This is....big." She said lightly.

"So when's the wedding? My father will probably throw an engagement palrt," she said as she looked at her hands, she felt a little sick but she knew her father would guilt her into it eventually.

He smiled a little,"this is home," he said as he turned the car off.

Lydia smiled at him as she took and looked back at the home. "It's gorgeous." She complimented.
