Elijah understood love, or, at least, he felt as if he did. And he was almost certain that his brother Nicklaus did not. His brother had proven time and time again that he was vengeful and that love made one weak. His words after all. So it shocked him greatly to know his brother had found someone he actually cared for. And a human no less. One that it was clear he'd protect from harms way, and most likely eventually tell the truth to. Of course, how she'd respond to the news of him being a hybrid and of the rest of his family being vampires but at least she'd know.
"So Nicklaus, did you have plans with Maisie tonight?" He asked figuring if his brother did plan on taking her out for the night that maybe the pair of them could join him later on in the evening. He actually had plans for a while later that evening. Ones he'd rather not share with anyone, at least not at the moment. When the time was right, however, he'd let it be known be that he'd become somewhat smitten with a werewolf girl he'd met. And maybe that would be over dinner or maybe not. He wasn't really sure yet because there was no way of really knowing how his siblings would take the news. Klaus was the one he was truly worried about, though. Not because he seeks their approval but because Klaus had a tendency to use the people he cared about and then claim it was because he didn't like them, and Elijah didn't want that this time around. So he needed to make sure that Klaus would like this girl and wouldn't be tempted to use her for some sick plot.
Maisie smiled at her friend who sat across from her at Casamento's, the hottest new place in town to grab a bite. They'd blocked off time out of their day and everything for this lunch date because well it was Maisie's twenty-third birthday and she'd made plans for later that night she wouldn't dare break, so this was the only time she had to meet up with her friend.
"So tell me again about this guy in your life, and why haven't I met him yet?" Her friend asked
Maisie shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know it's just never been the right time I guess," she replied not sure what was holding her back from introducing her friend to Klaus, but there was something she supposed. "And he's very charming. He got us tickets to the theater tonight, then we're supposed to go dancing afterward. How amazing is that? The theater and dancing." Maisie said thrilled about later that night. Because there was something amazing about the time she spent with Klaus. Even though she still didn't know a whole lot about him, she felt like she knew enough that they had a pretty strong bond. And with how much her mother had harped on about finding a nice man to settle down this it'd really put her at ease having Klaus in her life. Plus the few times she'd met his family they'd seemed like very interesting people.
[ so I totally just winged this and am hoping that it's good!
