Ember walked into her house after having been working at the merchant stand all day. She worked there to help support her aunt who took care of her and her sister though she didn't need to. She was feeling like she wanted to burn something but that was wrong. Ember opened the door to their little cabin and was nearly knocked over as her little sister hugged her. Ember laughed and kissed her head of tangled brown hair, hugging her tightly. "Hey little Drop." Ember said softly using her sister's nickname. Brooke smiled. "Ember! You're home! Can we play?" she asked pulling away and jumping around like a frog. Ember laughed feeling calmer seeing her sister. "Little Drop I am tired." she said and sat down in one of the arm chairs in the living room. "Maybe we can play Mancala." she said watching Brooke think about it and brighten with joy before popping up from the ground and running out of the room. Ember chuckled and pulled the little table closer to her chair and waited for Brooke to return with the game.
She smiled thinking about how her sister was so young and free when her aunt walked into the cabin. She looked around and then looked relieved seeing Ember. "Ember into your room." she said and closed the front door. Ember stood and frowned. "Aunt Lucille?" she asked standing. Lucille looked at her pointedly. "Now." she said. Ember frowned and moved into her room closing the door behind her. Brooke came out and Lucille pulled her close telling her to remember their drills. There was a knock on the door and then Lucille was talking to a man. Ember paced by her window and bit her lip. Another surprise inspection? This was the third time this month. Ember carefully opened her window and slipped out. She ran over the hill and down the old dirt path. She rounded a corner headed into the hills. Ember ran up another hill and down the other side before stopping in front of a cave. Ember walked down the side of the hill wall until she got to a river. She hopped from rock to rock until she was standing on the big bolder in the middle of the raging water. She paced and cried out in aggravation. She tossed a fire ball at a pile of rocks watching them tumble into the river seared from her flames and making the water steam just a little from the heat. She hated having to hide what was so natural inside of her. Ember ran a hand through her hair and sat on a bolder her head hanging down. She would stay here until she felt in control again, as she always did on inspection days. Ember was tired of this life. She felt the tears threatening to slip out as she thought of her mother and father. She missed them so much, and she still blamed herself. She had to control herself. This behavior was dangerous and childish, she would not put her family at risk anymore. Ember was so upset she felt like she could cry but that was not a good idea either. She sat down and pulled her knees to her chest hugging them tightly kidding her face in his knees.

Issac picked his way along the bank of the river, catching tendrils of the breeze and guiding it through his hair. He was hot, slightly sweaty from his impromptu run out of the latest town he'd been through. He rolled his shirt sleeves above his elbows to feel the wind on his skin better and breathed deep. Out here everything felt free, in the midst of nature where the world was strong and crisp and fresh, not crowded and muffled and scared as most inhabited areas tended to be. Especially after the raids. Even Normals were set on edge by the raids, the Rising Tide had that effect on people, making them feel like they were about to abruptly shoot fire from their fingers in their presence, despite never showing any sign of being an Elemental in their life.

The thought fresh in his mind, Issac startled when a ball of fire struck the rocks on the other side of the river. For a bewildering moment Issac thought he'd managed to summon the power just by thought, power over two elements?! Surely that was unheard of, if the old wives tales were anything to go by. But... no. It had come from a different direction.

Issac watched steam from the water dissipate. In his momentary panic he'd lost grip of his breezes, and his hair lay still. Everything seemed still, besides a slight shuffle among the rocks just a few steps ahead. The source of the fire, perhaps?

Cautiously Issac made his way over, adjusting the winds ever so slightly to carry his scent away behind him, in case of a unfortunate encounter with some wild animal. He crept as quietly as possible over the rocks until he spotted a girl sat on a boulder. She had pulled herself into a ball, and didn't appear to be paying any attention to her surroundings. Continuing his quiet approach, Issac made his way onto the boulder. The Elementals he knew had never been hostile, but he supposed there was always room for caution. If the girl was the source of the fire, then perhaps being in closer quarters would be safer, less room for many fireballs to be unleashed.

Issac crouched behind the girl and gently touched the slight dip between her shoulder blades.

"Hey," he said. "Was that you with the fireworks?"

Ember nearly jumped into the river when his hand touched her back. She turned around scrambling to get him infant of her as fast as she could. Her wide hazel eyes had a spark int hem that she quickly hid. "What? No!" she shook her head. "What are you doing here?" she asked looking scared and looking around for others. She had never seen another elemental before and didn't know how to spot one out. This boy in front of her was cute and there was something about him she just didn't know what it was but she wasn't running like she should be. If he told a peacekeeper she would be put to death and probably her family with her just to be safe. She could see the knowing look in his eyes. She shook her head. "Please no..." she begged though she could see he knew. She looked down feeling the stinging behind her eyes she forced back. "Please don't tell anyone. I have to protect my sister." she said and looked up at him sinking into the rock beneath her with surrender. Ember looked back up at the boy and bit her lip. He didn't look afraid which most normals where. She wondered if he might not be a normal. She shook her head. No it wasn't possible for another elemental to have seen her. She wouldn't believe him without seeing it. And if there was another elemental she doubted she would ever meet another like her. After all fire was the first of the elementals to be hunted down and executed. All the elementals that might be like her and live probably where in permanent hiding and she honestly couldn't blame them for it.

Now that she looked the boy over again he looked tired and slightly like he hadn't had a good meal in some time. She also wondered when was the last time he got anything but a river bath. and cleaned his cloths. It was obvious that he had been traveling for quiet some time. Why would anyone be traveling in days like these? Normals didn't do it, they where to afraid to and the Elementals headed toward the more secluded area.

Issac's brows jumped up in surprise as the girl cowered away, did he really look that threatening? But then, he supposed everything is threatening as an Elemental, everything and everyone poses a potential threat.

"Here now," he said, raising his hands up in a sign of peace. "Chill."

He waved a hand, unnecessarily, to try to convey he was the source of the wind he filtered through the girls hair, letting it billow out around her head before letting the breeze free on it's way so her hair could settle back.

He quirked his lips in what he hoped was a vaguely reassuring grin, "I'm not telling on you, I reckon I'd get into trouble myself if I did that, huh? Your secrets safe with me."

Issac crouched down in front of the girl, folding his arms atop his knees.

"How's about you tell me what that little display was for? It's not often I bump into one of you firey lot."

Ember gasped as she felt the wind pick up and it played with her hair as his fingers moved. She knew he didn't need to do that but he was trying to convince her. "No way." she said in disbelief. There was someone like her out here. She couldn't believe her luck. If anyone saw it was him and he wasn't going to turn her in. "Wow." she said her mind racing as she thought. She looked at the boy and bit her lip. "I was angry. The peacekeepers are doing house checks again this week." she said and shook her head. "But I haven't even gotten your name." she said and held out her hand. It would be just like an air type to forget things and bounce around to something else. "My name is Ember." she said and smiled as she shook his hand. She shivered lightly but not from being cold. There was so much that happened with skin contact between elementals. First it was hard to completely hid the power with in. But what really surprised her was the shock there like nothing she had felt before. It was just like electricity ran through her and back to him but not because of an elemental gift that would feel different than this.

Ember carefully took her hand back sitting with it in her lap as she looked at him. "You've been traveling... Where are you from? And where are you going?" she asked watching him. Her life was boring. She didn't want to talk about how she suppressed her powers but sometimes couldn't control them and how she knew overtime they came to search their house that they where looking for signs of her but her worst fear was that Brooke would show signs of being like her and they would catch her. Ember at least had lots of practice controlling her powers. Ember wondered what this boy in front of her saw when he looked at her. She assumed it had to be some scared girl sitting on a rock where she won't burn anything. Who knows he might even think her dangerous and unstable like her Aunt Lucille saw her.

"Ember..." Issac repeated, idly scratching at his palm from the shock of strange power that had run through from the girl. No, not the girl. Ember. He'd met a reasonable amount of Elementals throughout his life, enough to know that was different. Issac wasn't sure if he should be worried or not.

But still, Ember looked so unsure of herself still that Issac grinned again instead. "That's a pretty fitting name then! I'm Issac."

"I've been travelling," he replied with a nod. "From other there," he waved a hand vaguely in the direction he'd been walking from, "And going over there." He nodded in the opposite direction, then shrugged. "There's no where really safe to settle, Peacekeepers everywhere, like you said."

He paused, briefly unsure of himself. How much should he tell Ember? Surely she wouldn't pose to much of a threat, here hiding from the Peacekeepers. And such a display of raw power, could it be she didn't have control over it? No training at all... she'd be more a threat to herself than others, if it came to it. She looked so small though, there on the rock. Dark hair framed her sad and pale face and he thought he saw something familiar in her dark eyes, some resigned emotion of despair, the same look in the eyes of his sister and friend when they were separated in the raid. He wondered if he had the look too, is all Elementals did.

But Ember had mentioned her own sister, so she'd probably understand.

"I'm looking for people," he told her. "My sister and my... a friend. We got separated before, in a raid."

Ember grinned softly as he said his name. She grinned. "Hi Issac. Yeah my parents had a way with words... or so I was told." she said and shrugged looking from where repointed he was from to where he said he was going. She frowned and crinkled her eyebrows. That was really unspecific. She nodded knowingly at what he said. "My aunt has been good to me and kept me safe. They would have passed our house by now. For some reason she wanted to ask him to come back to her place and rest before he continued but she didn't not yet. There was just something about him she recognized and she did't know what it was. That was when he mentioned who he was looking for and she frowned even more looking down. "I'm sorry... I don't know what I would do if I lost my sister." she said and looked up at him. It made sense that loosing people you love even if it was just a little while made you connect to those who could understand. She bit her lip. "Issac how long have you been trying to find them? You look like you have been out here a long time..." she said softly and looked at him still looking sad. She had that same sad look on her that never lifted into that dazzling smile that could be there. Ember ran a hand through her hair moving it to the side. She hardly knew this boy and she wondered how he could do what he was doing? She was sure it had to be ten times as dangerous out here than it was staying even in a town populated by mostly peacekeepers.

"A couple of weeks, maybe months?" Issac replied with a shrug. "It's hard to keep track. I've been following rumors, which aren't the most reliable of maps." He gave a rueful grin. "Was it my clothes that gave it away? I swear I was going to wash them the last time I stopped, but the Peacekeepers and all... you know how it goes."

He ran a hand through his own hair, subconsciously mirroring Ember's movements.

"I, uh, it's not so bad, you know? It's pretty quiet, but the air is clear and fresh out here, and every town I stop at the rumors get more promising." He nodded confidently. "I'm getting closer to them, I'm sure of it."

Issac's brow creased into a slight frown, "my sister, she's the same as... you know," he waggled his fingers, "just not as strong. But sometimes I think I can feel her in the breeze..." Issac gave a short laugh, "but that sounds kind of stupid, huh? Want me to see you back to your town? Peacekeepers should have finished their stomping by now."

Ember chuckled and gave a little smile. "Yeah and the hair." she said almost teasingly. She felt so bad for him but he was so positive that he would find them. "No it's not stupid." she said softly and touched his arm carefully not letting their skin come into contact again. She wasn't sure what the feeling was when it happened and until she understood it she didn't want to cause them both to feel it again. "Yeah I should see Brooke, She always worries. She's 11 and a half." Ember smiled even more speaking about her sister. "You can stay with us while you're passing through. "You should be able to clean up and have dinner at least." she said thanking her aunt would allow that if he was as sweet a talker to Aunt Lucille as Issac had been with her. Ember stood gracefully and hopped from stone to stone back to the land. Ember looked back smiling carefully. There was a bit o pride there maybe because she had fallen in the river before doing that. Ember had been going here since she was 8 and could sneak out. She had spent more of her life with her aunt then she had with her parents and she was being to forget them. She knew that Brooke didn't know their parents only her and Aunt Lucille. Ember waited for Issac and then started on the dirt path back into town. "So Issac how did you find out what you where?" she asked.

Issac clambered across the rocks after Ember, considerably less gainly than the girl had been. He caught himself upright when his feet finally met the earth again, and began to follow Ember down the path.

"I wouldn't say no to a meal," he admitted, "If you're sure it would be okay with your family."

He fell into step with her and considered her question.

"How did I find out?" he repeated thoughtfully, "I can't quite remember... I've just always known. My parents, my sister, all of us. I grew up in a town where near everyone was an Elemental, it was just how it was." He gave a shrug. "When I was little I didn't realise you could be anything but." His tone became bitter and his expression hard. "We didn't have to hide it back then, not until the Rising Tide outlawed us. Like it was perfectly fine to deny us our nature!" the wind around him picked up a little as he became more agitated. "My town was one of the first to go, an obvious target I guess, there being so many of us in such a small space. We all escaped after that raid, but then all it was was running after that. Even if we settled somewhere for a few months we knew a time would come to run again."

Issac realised what he was doing. The wind abruptly dropped and he rubbed the back of his head with a self-concious laugh.

"But I guess it's not all bad?" he went for a lighthearted tone, and flashed a grin. "Sometimes I get to meet pretty girls on my travels."

Ember smiled and nodded. "Good." she said and started to walk back towards home. "I don't bring people home often enough to find out." she said and smiled daringly. This was a risk for her but for some reason she felt she could trust Issac. She day dreamed as he spoke. What would it have been like to live like he had. She dreamed of a place where she wouldn't have had to run but could have found out what really happened to her parents. What would it have been like to learn from others how to control her powers instead of cowering from them. She looked at him as the wind started to pick up and she listened to him talk. What would it feel like to believe completely that this power inside of her was a real part of her and was natural instead of it making her feel like a freak. What would it be like then to have all of that ripped from your hands loosing not only the people you loved but also the feeling of being normal. She wanted to reach out and comfort him but then the wind stopped and so did she. She looked up at him. He was taller than her. By quite a bit actually. "I'm really sorry to hear about that Issac. I didn't mean to make you remember all that I just noticed how comfortable you are showing that you are... well how you are and I just wondered." she said and bit her lip. Then he broke from the weight they had been under and it was like he was almost flirting with her. She giggled softly and smiled under a blush. "Oh well then that makes things easier." she said and bumped his shoulder lightly with hers and started to walk again.

Ember became even more skittish and tense the closer they got to town until she almost seemed like an entirely different girl as they came to her house. She moved around to the front of the little cabin and walked in. "Aunt Lucille I brought someone back for dinner." she called and Brooke came barreling down the halls and tossed herself into Ember's arms. Ember smiled and stooped down hugging her sister her face smashing into the girls hair and breathing her in. "Ember you came back." she said. It broke Ember's heart that overtime Brooke saw her it was like a surprise that she returned again. Ember looked down at her cupped her cheek. "I will always find you little Drop... always." she said and kissed her head and then put her arm around her shoulder as Lucille came around the corner from the kitchen and crossed her arms. "Well this isn't much notice. I will have to add more potatoes." she said and sighed. "Go take your friend and clean up. Then you can help me in the kitchen Ember." she said and turned disappearing. Ember blushed and smiled nervously at Issac. "I think she will allow it." she said and took his hand again shocked by the buzz there between their hands. She pulled him into the washroom and started to pump water into the basin letting go of his hand to do so. She put some water on the heater to warm it up. Brooke floated in and out of the room now and again. She was curious about the man that Ember brought home. She would stare up at him but when he looked at her she would make a squeak and rush from the room. Ember grabbed two cloths and dipped them in the warmed water and handed one to Issac before taking her own and cleaning up herself in the mirror next to the window. "Tell me more about something... Something you can say safely that is." she said and looked at him using the mirror to meet his eyes before returning to wash her face and her hands. She was hoping that she made it obvious not to talk about the elemental part of himself or her here. It was to dangerous even in privet.

Issac smiled at Brooke, who kept squeaking and darting away every time he did. He laughed softly, the girl reminded him so much of his sister when she was that age.

He took the damp cloth from Ember, and started washing his face. If he stood behind the girl he could easily see himself in the mirror, over her head.

"You're sure your aunt is okay with this?" he asked her. "It's really no issue if she'd rather not..."

He rubbed at his cheeks and for the first time in a while, realised how grubby he'd gotten, he laughed a little, "it looks like you dragged me in from the streets."

He thought for a moment, about her request. Tell her something. But really what was there to tell? What would a girl like Ember find interesting about him or his life? Aside his Elemental ability, but he was air and she was fire, with even a little training it was more than likely she'd surpass him quickly, as strong as he was, fire was the more powerful element.

"Is there anything in particular you want to know?" he asked, unsure. "I've seen a lot on my travels, heard all sorts of things... but I don't-" he cut off with a shrug of one shoulder. "I'm sorry, it's been a while since I've had a chance to talk... normally... with someone."

Ember looked at him again through the mirror her eyes stubborn. "This is my home too." she said. Ember chuckled at what he said next. "Yeah it does." she said having finished cleaning up and she turns looking up at him. "You have been many places?" she asked dunking her cloth in water and wringing it out then dunking it once more and stepped closer to him. She blushed lightly before she pressed the cloth to his neck and carefully wiping away the dirt. "Is it beautiful out there?" she asked. Her heart was free even if she was caged. Her eyes shown bright with the possibilities. She would love to travel and find out herself. She would even love to learn to not be afraid of her gifts though she doubted that would ever really happen. She finished with the front of his neck and she walked around him having to stand on her tip toes to look over his shoulder but her eyes met his in the mirror as she then cleaned the back of his neck and the brushed off the left over ground that was on his cloths back there. "Really anything you tell me would be interesting." she said just not sure if she was ready for a long silence with someone she could really talk to. Ember dropped out of view behind his shoulders. She looked at him from behind thinking how strong he looked. She also had the strong desire to hug him from there and hide her head on his shoulder. He looked comfortable in that way and she blushed turning back to the bucket and cleaned it out. She should really leave him to clean up but she wanted to hear stories from him. She looked over as Brooke snuck in and she smiled at her sister who obviously really liked him. It was something about him then and it wasn't just her. Ember looked back at Issac looking at him through the mirror. It was easier than looking someone directly in the eyes really. There was something about the eyes that revealed so much and took even more.

Issac's nerves calmed as Ember wiped his neck, and he stilled as she moved around his body. She seemed so small next to him, so petite, someone he could sweep up in his arms and tuck close. Her head would probably fit just under his chin, he thought, then ducked his head in embarrassment at the thought. She was quite literally dusting him of dirt, who would want anyone like that.

When Ember had finished, he met her eyes again in the mirror, considering.

"It's big," he said, then gave a small laugh. "Not that that's descriptive, but it's the first word that comes to mind. There's so much out there, and it's so different. At home... at my first town, I mean, it was cold and everything was crisp. Your breath would hang in the air and the grass would get all spiky with frost, then at night there were lights in the sky, all different colours, blues and greens, sometimes purples, over the mountains."

    He turned to face her.

"It's been a long time since then, though. We traveled south after that, we heard it was safer," he smiled, "it's certainly warmer! There's more colour too, with the sky as bright as it is. A few days back, I don't know, maybe a week, I passed by a lake and the water was so clear you could see straight to the bottom..."

He paused for a moment as he thought, "I could take you one day, if you wanted maybe? After I've found my sister, and my friend, I mean. Only if you'd like. You don't have to."

Ember listened enjoying thinking about other places. She looked lost with the wonder. She nodded as he said the moved south. It would be warmer. She looked at the water in the bucket then dumped it out. "Really?" she asked wondering what that would be like to go swimming there. "It sounds amazing and beautiful." she said. He offered to take her someday and she turned red and looked down. "I don't think I could leave my sister." she said and looked up at him. "But maybe one day." she said and touched his hand kindly. She kind of liked the spark there that it caused in her and it made her sad to know he would leave and very soon. She felt like she had so much more to hear about from him. "You should come back though sometime... just to say hi." she said and bit her lip. "Now come on let's get you some food." she said and looked him over. "I think you've cleaned up really nicely." she said that tint of color still on her cheeks. She took his hand and moved them out of the bathroom and down the hall a little before she stopped and dropped his hand. "You can relax in the living room. It shouldn't be to much longer for dinner." she said and then smiled showing him the living room and leaving him to go to the kitchen where Lucille was waiting to tell her how dangerous this was and that she expected better from her and finally she told Ember not to do it again. Ember nodded knowing that she never could. No one would be like Issac. He was different and she knew he was special.

Brooke peeked into the living room and giggled seeing Issac. She watched him for a while before sneaking up on him and pouncing onto him playfully. "Rawr!" she said and then broke out into giggles. She looked up at him before she stood again. "You come to take Ember away?" she asked softly almost sadly but there was also joy in her eyes. It seemed Brooke knew Ember wasn't meant to stay. "Can I tell you a secret?" she asked and took his hand. The energy she gave off was much different but still it was not like a normal. She pulled him back into her room where she had a fish bowl by the window she sat infant of. She was quiet for a long time. "You can't tell anyone. Ember is to scared. But I have been practicing." she said and smiled.

Issac trailed after Ember, waiting in the living room as instructed. He looked awkwardly at the furniture for a moment, wondering how welcome the aunt really would be if he relaxed as Ember had suggested.

He was saved from answering when Brooke pounced at him, startling him briefly with a playful roar before turning serious. Then taking his hand. His eyes widened a little at the energy he felt within and he was briefly too speechless to protest as she led him into her room.

"Practicing?" he asked eventually, "on your own?"

Issac grew worried, the girl was so young, and it was clear she had no one to guide her. It could be dangerous, especially with the amount of Peacekeepers there seemed to be in this town.

"It's dangerous," he said, a concerned expression on his face. "I won't tell, but... I don't know. I won't mention it to Ember, but perhaps you could, maybe she could help, or..." Issac trailed off and ran a hand through his hair. "You need to stay safe, that's the most important thing, you hear?"

Brooke smiled. "Don't worry like Ember. I am sure to stay safe. No one knows... not even auntie." she said and smiled proudly.

Ember called for Issac and Brooke having not seen either of them in the living room. "Dinner time!" she said and slowly walked down the hall. Once Brooke came hopping out of her room and Issac followed she smiled at him. "She's taken with you." Ember said and thought it was a wonder how quickly Issac had grown on both of them.

Ember had no idea what had just happened between Brooke and Issac. "I hope you're hungry. Aunt Lucille had more than she thought she did." she said and chuckled walking into the dinning room and sat down across from her aunt so that Issac didn't have to.

The food was served and they all started to eat. "So Issac." Aunt Lucille started and Ember gave her a look of worry. Lucille smiled slyly. "Where are you from?" she asked noticing that he did clean up well. Ember easily saw within people, for the most part that was. She had been that way since she was a kid but Lucille knew she was trusted by Ember for one reason... Brooke.

Ember blushed looking at Issac knowing that if he answered her truthfully his identity as an elemental would be revealed. After all he said he had come from one of the more well known air tribes. She did wonder though which one it was.

Issac sat at the table, eating as neatly as he knew how, and applying all his best manners his mother had taught him.

He swallowed his food and smiled at Ember's aunt.

"I lived in a small hamlet near the big city in the north," he replied easily, "we were too small to have a name, six houses with families, and two that were used if people passed through, 'else they stood empty. The nearest merchant's was a half hours walk to the town. But they were an air tribe, so when they got raided by the Rising Tide they stomped all through us, and when they were done we didn't have a merchant anymore," Issac shrugged a shoulder, "so me, mother and Bethan packed up and moved."

He looked down at his plate, then back at Lucille.

"Thank you for letting me stay for dinner though," he smiled at her. "It's been a while since I've eaten something cooked properly, my mother was alright, but then anything me and Bethan touched turned to a waste of food."

Ember smiled softly but also kind of sadly. She wanted to reach over and take his hand and tell him that he would find his sister and his friend. But here was not the place nor the time. They went through dinner and Lucille was pretty quiet. She had lost that round and she knew it.

Once dinner was finished Ember stood to help clear the table. Suddenly there was a bang on the door several times. Lucille looked up at Ember it couldn't possibly be another check. The door was opened and the guard came in. "Everyone out and to the town center." He yelled and left.

Ember looked worriedly at Issac. She moved over to her sister and helped her pull her shoes on then her cloak. Ember did the same and took her sisters hand feeling so nervous. They all walked out and where escorted down to the city center.

Up one the stage was a girl about 10 years of age tied to a pole. It seemed to be the age here the elemental so where revealed because their powers where just coming out. The earth trembled the closer to the stage anyone got and the girl was crying. Ember looked at Issac knowingly. This girl was an earth elemental and she wasn't tied to that pole just to be shamed. They all stood there looking up at the poor girl.

A guard walked onto the stage a sword at his side. "This girl has been found an elemental. Therefore she is dangerous and has been sentenced to death!" He said and removed his sword.

Ember shook angerly beside Issac. How could she just stand there this was wrong. She kneed and pulled Brooke to her. She hugged her and whispered to her. "No matter what I will find you. When ever you are last do you remember where I told you to go? She asked and Booke nodded.

Ember stood and let go of her sister not knowing what she was going to do but this was wrong. It was then that she saw Issac act. She had never thought he could get angry but he was. Issac attacked and the guards started to move to fight him. He was way out numbered and one guard moved in to sneak attack him. Ember ran up the stage looking at the guard and Issac. How did he not see it? "No! Issac behind you!" She yelled.

Fire rained down from the stage barely missing Issac and dropped the guard instantly burned and unable to move. Tears streamed down Embers face as she grabbed the girl onstage and ran. She ran only looking back once to hear Issac telling her not to look back. She held the girl to her as she ran. The girl clung to her arms and legs wrapped around her but now it was Ember who was crying not the girl.

She ran until Issac moved in front of her and stopped her. She slowed down then stopped setting the girl down and turning to the nearest thing to hold onto. She felt like she was going to be sick but only tears came out in silent. She clung to the thing holding her up.The girl looked at her sadly and sat there on the ground. She knew she was safe but her savior was the one that needed to be comforted and the girl didn't understand why.
