Shadow on the Moon at Night

Leah ran her hands through her dirty blonde hair. She needed a shower or something after the people who had kidnapped her had tossed her into the dark smelly room for the past three days. The doors opened suddenly and her eyes widened when she saw handcuffs in one of her captors hands.

"Time to take you to your new master now," he stated.

Leah glared at the man, too weak to fight him when he chained her wrists because they had deprived her of both food and water for those three days. The man was not gentle at all as he tightened the handcuffs tighter than necessary and dragged her from the room, a soft grunt escaping her lips as he tossed to the ground at someone's feet.

Brian sat on his couch, relaxing with a beer in his hand while he watched whatever random football game played on ESPN. He had just gotten the new from his father he was going to be forced to follow through with an arranged marriage contract his grandfather had made with a pack of shapeshifters to keep piece between their two tribes.

It honestly pissed the werewolf off that he had to marry a shapeshifter when honestly every shapeshifter he had met was rude and just horrible to be around.

Zacky looked down at the girl in front of his feet, biting his lip. She was beautiful, that was true. She looked awfully pale, and he figured they must have been treating her pretty poorly. He really didn't want this anymore than she did, but he'd been forced into this life by his father, to follow in his footsteps. He'd always wanted a different life, but he wanted to make his father proud too. He felt like he owed it to him because he was the reason his mother had died. She'd died giving birth to him and now he felt like it was his responsibility to make his father proud.

Kiera looked at herself in the mirror, sighing softly. She hated dressing up like this, but she had no choice in the matter today. Her mother and father were forcing her to go meet the man she was to marry. She didn't want to get married, not yet at least, and certainly not to someone she didn't know. She was still young, she still had plenty of time ahead of her to get married if she wanted. But now she had no choice. She walked downstairs when she was finished getting ready, rolling her eyes when her mother started going on about how beautiful she was. She walked out to the car and got in, just wanting this to be over already.

Leah looked up at the man in front of her, tears forming in her eyes when she realized what was happening. She could tell by how pale he was the man in front of her was a vampire. She knew enough about his kind to know she was likely being sold to him as a living blood bag or to be some sort of slave that answered to his every neck and call. She quickly looked down again, refusing to cry in front of the vampire, gripping the skirt of her now tattered and torn dress in her fists. What had she ever done to deserve what was happening to her?

Brian looked at the time that displayed near the score board on the bottom of the screen. He had to get ready to meet his future bride. He finished the rest of his beer, shutting off his tv and went upstairs to go make himself look presentable. As much as he didn't want to marry some strange shapeshifter he refused to look horrible because of it. He was known for his good looks and he planned to keep it that way.

Zacky looked at her, extending his hand out and reaching up to wipe the tears from her cheeks. "Don't cry," he said. "I'm going to take good care of you." He looked up at the men who had brought her in, waving his hand so they would leave. He wanted to be alone with her. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, slowly exhaling. He could do this. He opened his eyes and walked around her, looking her over. "Banshee." He pulled her hair over her shoulder and leaned in to smell her neck. "Your blood is sweet." He moved away from her neck, licking over his lips and moving in front of her again. "I don't want to hurt you."

Kiera stared out of the window the whole ride to this man's house, half tempted to jump out of the moving vehicle, even if it meant death. Her life was being taken from her, so what was the point anymore? She looked up when the car stopped, looking at the house before her. It was actually pretty big. She climbed out of the car, smoothing out her dress and sighing softly. She followed her parents to the front door, folding her arms across her chest and staring off aimlessly. Her mother grabbed her arms and shoved them by her sides, hissing at her to look like a lady. She huffed, looking forward as her father rang the doorbell.

"I don't believe you," Leah spoke. Her voice was shaky as she looked directly into the vampire's eyes. "Vampires only use other creatures like me for breeding or blood bags and I'd rather die than be either for you or any other vampire." Her kind had killed multiple members of her family and even more had been enslaved and forced to have their vampire master's spawn since femal vampires were completely sterile. "If you have any humanity left in your soul please just let me go," she pleaded. "Let me go or you enslaving me ensures I die young."

Brian walked to his front door, taking a deep breath before he let the shapeshifters in. His father and step mother had already arrived for the first meeting of him and his new arranged bride so he was already beyond annoyed by his father's teasing and Suzy's fussing. "Welcome," he stated. "My father is in the living room waiting for us all."

Zacky wanted to tell her so badly what his situation was, but he knew he couldn't. "I can't let you go," he said. "But I can promise you that no harm will come to you or anyone you love." He reached down and grabbed her hand, leading her to his bedroom. He opened his closet. "You need something better to wear. Pick out anything you like." He backed away from the closet, hoping she'd just do what he wanted. She could make this much easier on herself if she just complied and did what he wanted her to do.

Kiera's parents walked in past Brian, which allowed her to get a good look at him now. He was a handsome man, she would admit that, but that didn't make this any easier for her. She looked down as she followed her parents inside, really hoping that this was just short and sweet and that she didn't have to do anything uncomfortable. She sat down on the couch between her mother and father, staring down at her hands.

Leah hesitated to step into the closet at all because of how expensive all his clothes looked. She glanced back at him before she finally settled on a long dress shirt and a pair of what looked like pajama bottoms. Since he didn't have any girls clothes on the closet she figured what she had picked would work for now. "Am I allowed to shower before I change," she asked timidly. "They had me locked up for three days with just the clothes I'm wearing."

Brian eyed the girl he was supposed to marry. Yeah she was hot but he didn't want to only be able to have sex with her for the rest of his life. He liked being a bit of a whore and having sex with whatever pretty girls he wanted whenever he wanted. He had no shame in fucking strangers in public. He didn't even care if they got caught. When Brian got horny he got sex. It was that simple to him.

Zacky nodded his head. He gently placed his hand on her shoulder and led her to his bathroom, opening the door and letting her in. He showed her how to turn the shower on, grabbing her a towel and a washcloth as well. "I'll get you something to eat while you shower," he said. "I trust that you won't try and escape." He backed out of the bathroom and shut the door, heading downstairs to have his cook make something to eat for the girl. He didn't need to eat since he was a vampire, but he'd hired a chef a while ago anyways since he had so many visitors that actually had to eat unlike him.

Kiera frowned when her mother told her to sit up straight and cross her legs, doing as she told her. She looked across the room at the man's parents, hoping that they'd change their minds or something. Anything. She was desperate. She forced a smile and introduced herself when her mother nudged her in the ribs. "I'm Kiera," she finally spoke. "It's nice to meet you." Right now, all she wanted to do was shift into a mouse and scurry away. It was how she'd gotten out of situations before with her parents, which she guessed was why they were so harsh on her now.

Leah locked the bathroom door before she stripped naked and turned on the shower. She let the water warm up, climbing into the shower after she did. She let her body soak under the water, moaning out from how good it felt to start feeling clean again. She grabbed the body wash and began lathering her body with it. She was happy she got to be clean again.

"I don't care about her being a lady," Brian stated to Kiera's mother. "I don't even want to marry your daughter. This marriage is a useless way to keep a treaty good." He looked at Keira and smirked. "I can tell she agrees with me too." He walked out of the room and went straight for the hard liquor he had stashed in his pantry.

Zacky leaned against the counter in the kitchen as his chef went to work, cooking a steak for Leah. He knew his father would be visiting soon, which meant he'd have to make things look like Leah was an actual slave to him. He'd have to buy her some ratty clothes, make sure she knew that she had to do what he told her. He didn't want to disappoint his father, so this was what had to happen, as much as he'd just like to let her go.

Kiera frowned, standing up and turning to look at her parents. "I'm leaving," she said. "Don't bother looking for me." She walked out of the house, shifting into a tiger and taking off. She knew she'd be naked when she shifted back, so she'd need to get somewhere safe in order to do so. That was the one downside of being a shifter. Every time you shifted back, your clothes were gone. But she guessed it made sense.

Leah washed her body multiple times with the body wash before she began washing her hair. She wanted to feed absolutely squeaky clean before she started feeling filthy because of whatever degrading and demeaning task or job the vampire ended up giving her.

Brian sat outside in his backyard by his pool, an entire bottle of whiskey by his side. He planned on getting absolutely trashed and falling asleep by his pool or maybe if he was lucky he would fall in the pool and drown while he slept.

Once the meal was finished cooking, Zacky went back upstairs to check on Leah. He stopped outside the bathroom door and knocked on it. "Are you done?" he called, biting his lip as he waited for an answer. "Your dinner is ready if you want to come eat. I know you must be hungry by now. It's steak."

As Kiera passed by the backyard on her way to hop the fence, she stopped when she saw the man drinking by the pool. She watched him for a second, seeing how absolutely miserable he was, even if he didn't really want to show it. She thought for a second before walking over to him, sitting by his feet and looking up at him. She didn't know why she felt sorry for him, he was clearly a douche to some extent, but she was extremely empathetic towards people.

Leah jumped when she heard a knock on the bathroom door. When she heard Zack's voice she quickly finished up, scared she would upset him if she didn't. She towel dried herself as quickly as she could before she brushed out her hair and pulled on the clothes he had let her pick out. She unlocked the bathroom door, letting out a shaky breath before she opened it. "What do you plan on having me do here for you," she asked.

Brian felt a presence nearby, extremely confused when he smelled Kiera again. He looked up at her, stunned by how beautiful she looked as a tiger. "You know if I had any say in this you could be off with whoever you actually wanted to be with," he stated.

Zacky looked her over. "We'll discuss that at the table," he said. He grabbed her hand and led her downstairs to the dining room that he rarely used unless he had a guest over, the chef coming over and setting the plate down in front of her. He made her a glass of water as well before he left her and Zacky alone. He watched her, biting his lip gently. "Look, I don't want you here anymore than you want to be here, okay? This wasn't my choice. Well, it was, but I didn't want to make it."

Kiera tilted her head, wondering if he actually meant that. Clearly, he didn't want to be with her, but did he really care enough that he'd wish her to be with someone else? She didn't know, but it didn't matter. She thought for a moment, shifting herself into a beautiful white horse before nudging his hand with her snout. She didn't want to leave him alone out here to drink himself to death. So if she was leaving, then he was coming with.

"Then let me go," Leah snapped. "You own this place. You could wave your hand and let me go." She didn't understand why he made her situation so complicated. He needed to uncomplicated it because he was honestly confusing the hell out of her at the moment. "What makes letting me go such a hard thing? Are you going to use me to breed or something?"

"You want me to ride you out of here," Brian questioned. "Wouldn't that piss your uptight mother off?" He could tell her mother was upright and probably a frigid bitch. He honestly didn't want her to be his mother in law more than he didn't want to marry Kiera. "You know it's really your mom that's the deal breaker for marrying you," he joked. He lifted the bottle of whiskey to his lips again and took a generous swig of it.

"No, I don't want to breed," Zacky said. "Or feed off you, although your blood does smell sweet." He shook his head. That wasn't the point. "I need you here for the sake of my family, or what's left of it. My mother is dead, it's my fault. I need to impress my father, that's why you're here. I can give you anything you want. You can live the life you want to here, but you can't leave. I just need you to take orders when I give them to you."

Kiera rolled her eyes. She didn't care what her mother thought right now. She just wanted to get out of here, go somewhere far away. She nudged his hand again, moving so he had access to her side. She nickered at him, looking back to see if he was coming or not. If he didn't hurry up, she was going to turn into a bird and peck the shit out of him. Not really, but she'd really love to do that to her mother right now.

"So I'm your prisoner because your family life is dysfunction," she questioned. "What about my family I was taken away fro," she exclaimed. "I have a little sister I take care off because my mother and parents are older. She only has two parents in their sixties that make her miserable!" She shoved the plate of food away and angrily swatted away the tears that fell down her face. "I was supposed to pick her up from school when your men grabbed me. She'll think I abandoned her now!"

Brian climbed onto Kiera, making sure he had a good grip on his booze before he gave her neck a gentle pay to let her know he was ready to go. He wanted to be as far from home as he could possible get at the moment. He hated his obligations as the pack leader's son. He always thought it was massive bullshit.

"I will make sure she stays safe," Zacky said. "I'm not joking with you, okay? If you ever wish to see your family again, you will do as I ask." He stood up and left the room, sighing heavily and rubbing his face. He hated this, so much. He just wanted to toss her back out on the street. Why couldn't they have just picked up a prostitute or something? Why did they have to grab someone that was only going to cause him trouble?

Kiera began galloping away from the house, taking him to the beach. She trotted over to a spot that was empty, coming to a stop so that he could hop off. She wasn't sure what she was going to do when she shifted back. Maybe he would be kind enough to offer her his shirt or something. She really didn't want to be naked out in public, but she couldn't talk to him if she was an animal.

Leah felt tears fall down her face, grabbing the glass of water in front of her and threw it at the wall. She let out an animalistic scream of against before she slumped down to the ground and began to sob. She wanted to be back with her family where she felt safe and loved especially with her her little sister.

Brian looked at Kiera, realizing what was going on and took off his shirt. He placed it on the ground in front of her and turned his back to her so she could shift and get dressed. It was the one thing he knew about shapeshifters, they always shifted back to humans naked.
