Charlie's shoulders sagged as she looked up, watching as Matt retreated up the stairs. Her bottom lip started to wobble and before she even knew what was happening, she was crying. She pulled her knees to her chest, covering her face with her hands as she squeezed her eyes shut. Matt hadn't exactly told her that he wasn't done with his work the way she had hoped but there was a sneaking suspicion that she couldn't shake. If Matt had truly been done, she felt like he would have been more open to the idea of moving. She rolled over onto her side, settling down on the couch with her hand resting on her stomach.
She wanted to go upstairs and reason with Matt but all she could picture was just how angry he was. She swallowed the lump that formed in her throat, trying to quiet herself down. Charlie found that she was exhausted once she had calmed down completely. Sighing, Charlie reached out and turned the television off before she pulled the blanket off of the back of the couch. She wasn't going to join Matt so she decided it was just best if she took a nap downstairs.
