Exhausted. That could accurately describe the feeling that was coursing through Daenerys' body. She had just gotten off a shift that felt like it had gone on for days -- rather than the actual six hours that it had been. Probably because prior to her shift, she had been in class for nearly four hours between the two classes she'd had that day.

Daenerys was focused on going somewhere in life. She had no idea where exactly she was going but she wanted to conquer her own little part of the world. She had decided to take school on to become a veterinarian, in hopes that animals could be her focus. Maybe she would make enough money that she could help her bastard of a brother out with his ongoing financial woes.

The thought was thrown out the window as Dany drove home, tapping her leg to the beat of the song playing in the background. She drove a shitty little punch buggy that was probably going to break down any day now. She was far too stubborn to go look into buying a new vehicle - not when this one was still working just fine.

Dany pulled to a stop outside of the house her brother had inherited when their parents had passed away. It was one blessing - they didn't have to worry about a roof over their heads. Killing the engine, Dany made her way up the sidewalk, intent on making it inside and going right to sleep. Food didn't really matter - it would take more effort to make than was worth it.

"Vick, I'm home," she called out as was customary. Most of the time, Dany got no answer. Vick would be out doing something that he probably shouldn't have been and she would retire to her childhood bedroom where she would make quick work of passing out.

Drogo was sat in the middle of a low sofa, spreading his size across it as he stared down the boy before him. Some self-entitled brat grown too used to his late parents money. Like most spoilt brats he'd fallen in with the wrong crowd, tangled with drugs and in too deep. So it seemed he was just going deeper, scrambling for a loan to pay his drug debt and not reliable enough for something legitimate.

He would have been curious about who the boy got his name from, but then this wasn't exactly a rare occurrence. He'd been listening to the boy rant about his inheritance, how it was only a matter of time before he'd get the money back, promising Drogo a generous interest on the loan. But he had no interest in it, he watched as the boys ranting got more passionate, almost insane, and was ready to deny his request and leave when a young woman's voice rang out calling for Vick.

Vick, he supposed the boys name was, jerked his head in the direction of the voice and smiled, desperation creeping at the edges.

"My sister," the boy explained. "She's pretty, she can clean. She works hard." A flicker passed over the boys face as an idea struck. "Perhaps you'd like her? Security, down payment if you will?"

Drogo raised an impassive eyebrow, almost alarmed that the boy would sink to such means, but then on the other hand, not surprised at all.

He kept his silence as the boy called his sister into the room, watching the girl as she entered.

Dany was already in the kitchen, pouring herself a glass of milk. By the time she finished the glass, she would have been wound down and ready for to go straight to sleep. She jumped, her head shooting up when she heard her brother. Sighing, she placed the jug of milk back into the fridge and turned to head toward where the voice.

Sipping at the milk as she entered the room, her attention had been focused on her brother. An uneasy feeling settled in the pit of her stomach at the look on his face, her gaze moving around the room before it settled on Drogo.

Her eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. As small as she was, Drogo had a good bit of height on her. If she were were to venture a guess, he probably weighed twice as much as she did, soaking wet. He was a massive man and that was enough to cement the feeling in the pit of her stomach. It wasn't that she was scared so much - so long as you weren't hurting others, she didn't much care what you did with your life.

Dany swallowed the lump in her throat, turning back to her brother with narrowed eyes. "What the hell did you get yourself into this time, Vick?" The question came out sounding a lot less angry than the words alone let on.

She glanced back to Drogo, inching backward. "I don't want any part in whatever stupid decision you made this time."

Drogo stared impassively at the girl in the doorway, watching her expressions change. She was small, petite, with startlingly fair hair that flowed to her waist. She didn't appear to be impressed by her brothers dealings, by the way she turned on him, and he imagined she'd be almost passionate in her anger, had she not been so weary.

To place such a girl with this wretched scrap of a boy, it was ridiculous, their colouring may well have been the only hint that they were related, for she seemed proud where her brother... well, her brother was clearly not as he came crawling for money.

He rose from his seat, nodding at Vick as he did so. It wasn't the sort of deal he'd ever gone for, he dealt cash and interest only, never drugs, certainly never people. But to let the girl sit and rot in this house, dead as it seemed, with her half-mad brother.

"I accept the proposal," Drogo said. "The money will be delivered in the morning, I'll take the girl then."

He didn't glance at Dany as he spoke of her, eyes on Vick. Give him the illusion of being in charge in his own home, when he was anything but.

"Have her ready," were his parting words as he left the room, moving past Dany to duck through the doorway, expecting Vick's desperation to lead him to agree. Without so much as a glance back Drogo made his way from the house, already contacting those he would need as he sat astride his bike.

Dany's mouth opened and closed repeatedly as she watched Drogo stand, making his exit. She stepped out of the way to allow him all the room he would need to pass through the doorway before she turned her attention back to her brother. She was furious. Beyond, in fact.

"What does he mean, he'll take the girl?!" Her voice was filled with barely contained rage.

"Dany, do you forget who is eldest here?" Vick smirked as Dany narrowed her eyes, stepping forward. "I am. I owe that brute of a man more than I'd like to admit. You're to go wth him as an insurance policy."

Dany was sure she had been angry before but now? Now she was outright livid. She brought her hand back, moving to slap him. Vick caught her wrist, shaking his head. To bruise the girl could lead to an unhappy Drogo, that was the only thing keeping him from striking her. "Darling Dany, you'll be back with me on no time," he murmured as he tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. Unsure of anything at the moment, Dany did the only thing she could. She nodded, leaning into his touch. As angry as Vick made her a lot of the time, he was her only family.
The next morning, Dany had been woken by a desperate Vick. She needed to shower and prepare herself for the coming day. After showering, Dany pulled on a tight fitting lace cocktail dress. Vick had picked the outfit himself, confident that the final product would make Drogo happy. Hair had been pulled back into a loose braid. She sat on the couch, a bag of clothing packed by her side. A second bag, the one carrying her schoolbooks, sat at her feet. She tried her best to ignore her brother who was pacing back and forth, growing more and more antsy as the minutes ticked by.

Drogo rapped firmly at the door the next morning, an envelope, plump with notes, was tucked into his jacket pocket and a helmet swung from his fingers. He'd had to borrow the thing off a friends sister, unused to the petite sizes needed, and he only hoped it would suffice for the short journey to his home.

Vick opened the door, mouth running as soon as they laid eyes on each other. He suspected the boy did nothing but talk.

"My sister, she's ready and waiting, do you have the-"

Drogo pressed the envelope to Vick's chest as he strode past, barely acknowledging the less than tactful plea for money.

"I hope she's to your liking," the boy was still trailing along, yapping in his ear. "She really is very beautiful, better when she dresses up."

Through the door, Drogo found the girl in question. Done up in a flimsy dress, hair braided back in a style not unlike his own. It was the fabric of the dress that concerned him, though. Short and thin, offering little protection to the cool air that whipped around when they rode.

He shrugged off his jacket, placing the too large garment next to Dany in exchange for her bags.

"You will be cold," he offered by way of explanation. "Helmet, too," he indicated the item in his hand.

Dany's heart was racing so hard that when she glanced down, she could both see and feel the heartbeat. She swallowed, wringing her hands together. Vick's pacing wasn't actually helping her in the least, if anything, it was making everything so much worse. "Would yo-" before she could finish, a knock at the door interrupted her words.

This was... Well, it wasn't it that she was about to go off to her death but Dany was still afraid. Put on a brave face. she kept repeating the words to herself, over and over. Throwing a tantrum wouldn't make any of them happy.

Dany's breathe hitched as Drogo came to a stop just beside her. She stared at his boot clad feet. If she hadn't been so concerned over what the future held, she probably would have laughed. Even Drogo's feet could dwarf her in comparison.

She looked up to him, brows knit together in confusion when he laid his jacket beside her. Before she could ask, Drogo pointed out the helmet. At least she hadn't asked a stupid question yet. For a moment, Dany had wanted to ask to change but she opted not to.

Slipping the jacket onto her arms, Dany's face scrunched. The thing almost fell to where the dress did, just a bit of lace peeking out. She began to follow him outside, not bothering to offer Vick so much as a glance backward. Taking longer than necessary as she fought against the jacket's bull, Dany finally clicked the helmet shut. She turned to him, a small frown on her lips.

"I've never ridden a motorcycle before," Dany spoke, her voice unsure as she watched him securing her bags.

At Dany's words, Drogo frowned a little, looking from the girl to the bike, before shrugging a shoulder.

"You just hold on," he told her, indicating the bar that ran behind the seat and giving it a tug, showing it was secure. "The bar or me."

Vick was hovering about in the background and Drogo paid him no attention, he had little time for boys like him, so ready to sell out anything for their own gain. Instead he helped Dany onto the bike, making sure she was settled and comfortable, encouraging her wordlessly to test the bar for herself.

When she appeared to be settled, he got on in front of her, starting the engine and glancing back at the girl behind him. She probably resented him, but that wasn't his concern, his current priorities were getting the girl home, safe, and if she fell off due to some form of rebellion...

    "Ready?" he asked gruffly.

[sorry, blah. this is lousy. i found the moving / transition scene thing awkward]

"Obviously," Dany huffed in reply, only for a blush to creep onto her cheeks at the suggestion of holding onto him. She lowered her head and kicked at the ground in front of her, ignoring the butterflies that had seemed to make her stomach home.

Glancing behind them, to Vick, she gave an uneasy smile to her brother. As upset as she was over the whole arrangement, she saw no point in arguing. She had no say in the matter. Dany had always done her brother's bidding, if for no other reason than she didn't want to upset him.

Climbing atop the bike, Dany settled in. She shimmied as far back as she could, all while tugging at the bottom of her dress. Now that she was straddling the bike, it left little to the imagination. She was thankful when Drogo sat down, more or less blocking her from view.

"As ready as I can be," she answered quietly, fingers gripping at the bar behind her. At the first turn they had to take, her eyes widened as she slid forward. Her arms wrapped right around Drogo's torso then, figuring she would be more stable that way.

Drogo had expected Dany's arms to find their way around him, despite her attitude a first ride was always unsteady. Regardless, he hoped she'd get used to it soon enough. Whilst Drogo owned a car for practicality he greatly favoured his bike.

He kept his speed within the limit for the sake of the girl behind him, no roaring engines and flirting with the lights as they changed from green to red. He slowed to a crawl as he pulled up outside his shop, walking the bike in to the wide open door where his friends and employees tinkered.

Drogo dismounted and the other occupants of the workshop did nothing to hide their stares as Drogo unstrapped Dany's bags, hefting them over a shoulder.

"I live up here," Drogo said, glancing back at the girl once before climbing the stairs at the back.

His apartment was small, surfaces covered in either bike parts or ledgers related to his side business. There was a single bedroom, but Drogo found himself sleeping on the couch back down in the workshop more often than not anyway.

Dany had to admit she was enjoying the ride, once the initial nerves were sated. She had leaned her head against his back after a few moments, allowing herself to relax against him. Her head jerked up as they slowed, catching sight of Drogo's crew.

She couldn't hide the light blush that came to her cheeks as she climbed off of the bike. Dany once again found herself tugging at the bottom of her dress to cover as much skin as possible.

Dany followed him up the stairs, undoing her helmet as she reached the top. She clung to the helmet as if it was some sort of safety net, unsure of what was going to happen once she stepped through the door.

Dany looked uneasy as she set the helmet down so she could take off Drogo's coat. She shifted her weight from one foot to the next, her stomach twisting into a knot. Make him happy, Dany. He needs to be kept happy. Dany had no real clue what she was doing, or what Drogo would want from her but her brother's words kept running through her mind.

"What do you want me to do?" Her voice came out softer than she would have preferred. Dany swallowed, looking anywhere but at Drogo b

Drogo set Dany's bags down by his bedroom door and shrugged as he turned to face her.

"Clean, can you cook?" He asked, glancing round the room. "We need help, downstairs. Two extra hands is good."

He examined her face, searching for an idea of what she might be thinking. She was at the age where most girls in this country were still in education and she seemed to be the one working for Vick's petty cash to waste.

"You have a job?" He questioned. "Class? When those are done you can help us. Small hands are better sometimes."

(Every time I see a motorcycle, all I think about is Drogo now Facepalm )

Dany nodded as she glanced around the room. "If you can show me where the parts belong, I'll clean up," she supplied, chewing on her lip. She didn't exactly want to offend Drogo.

"I work usually during the evenings during the week. Class during the day. I can always help when I..." She trailed off, her gaze shooting to Drogo. Was he really about to let her continue with both? She hadn't expected it, not with what Vick had pressed upon her over the last day. "But that's up to you. I can switch around my schedule," she spoke up again, shrugging her shoulders. The idea wasn't exactly pleasing to Dany but Vick had made sure she understood quite well that Drogo's happiness mattered above hers.

"Whichever you'd prefer," Dany said, a bit of sadness leaking into her tone. While she had always listened to her brother, Dany mostly lived independently.

(I saw a guy riding a bike the other day, his bike was gorgeous, his leathers were lovely... no idea what he looked like or how old the dude was, never mind that I'm asexual, I would have jumped him. Which has little to do with Drogo, but bikes)

Drogo shook his head, frowning a little at why the girl thought he'd make her rearrange her life for him. He supposed, admittedly, he had been the one to uproot her, but then to get her out of a home where her brother thought she was a suitable method of payment...

"Work, learn," he told her. "They are important. If you work here, we can pay but- you like your job?"

He paused, then shook his head.

"No, no matter. You can settle first," he pointed to the bedroom. "The room is yours, there's a lock on the door if you want it. The bathroom, kitchen... well, it isn't big, here. Hard to get lost."

Drogo shrugged a shoulder, looking at Dany and then looking away again. What more was there to say, really? He wasn't sure what else to do with the girl and would rather retreat back downstairs into his workshop.

Dany still found herself looking around the small living room, wringing her hands together. She was nervous to say the least but when Drogo spoke, her gaze shot to him. Her eyebrows knit together in confusion as she studied his face. "I'm here to help you, you aren't meant to pay me."

She turned back to the room he motioned toward and took a few, short steps before glancing back to him.

"My brother told me to do anything you ask. Whatever you require of me, I will do," she said, standing a bit taller now. It was a horrible situation to be in but she took pride in knowing that she could complete whatever was asked of her.

Dany went into the bedroom after lowering her head and immediately began to tidy up that room, starting a load of laundry when she noticed Drogo had gone downstairs. She moved from room to room, cleaning up the best she could. She had found a large basket that she put bike parts into and once it was full, Dany peaked down the stairs from the top of the landing. Slowly, she started making her way downstairs, basket on her hip. Once she was at the bottom of the stairs, she sort of just stood there, her cheeks flushing bright red as people started to notice her there. She wasn't used to attention on her.

Drogo thought of the set in the girl's shoulders when she'd stood straight, proud but not defiant. He wiped down some parts from the engine he was working on and kept half an eye on the deal going on in the corner, content on letting another member of his crew go through the motions, only really paying attention in case his own push was needed.

The creak of the stairs caught his attention, but he kept his eye on the deal until he was satisfied before turning to spot Dany. He eyed the basket of parts she held, before going over to her and taking the basket from here.

"Here, they go here," Drogo told her, moving across the room to a large wall of drawers. "Most things match, see? Look the same..."

He removed one of the parts and found a drawer with similar pieces in, adding it in there.

"Anything you don't know leave. Not everything is useful," he shrugged a shoulder, casting an eye over the drawers and then at Dany. "Okay?"

Dany was relieved when Drogo approached her, her shoulders relaxing just a bit. She wasted no time in following after him, not unlike a lost puppy dog. She only looked up once they reached the wall, her eyes landing on him. Apprehension filled her features but she did her best to nod, attention turning to the drawers in front of her. Working through the basket, she put away as many pieces of she could find matches to.

Moving back over to Drogo that was working on an engine, Dany simply stared at the table the engine sat on until he looked up.

"I've cleaned upstairs as much as I could. I'll need to head to the store later to get some spray and stuff but.." she trailed off with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Did you want me to start something for lunch or? For," she paused, her face scrunching a bit as she tossed a glance over her shoulder. What was she supposed to call them? "for everyone?" The second question was posed as a follow up, not wanting to rustle any feathers.
