This was going to be a great start to a new year, she could already feel it. Small nerves ran through her body as she sat her desk before class hours. She was one of the newest and youngest professors at Hogwarts and she was rather anxious for what would lie ahead. Making sure everything was set for her classes, Victoria hummed lightly to herself as she magically placed a book at each desk for the students. She then turned to the chalkboard and magically wrote down the assignment for today as well as the small, easy amount of homework they were going to have that night. Once she felt like everything was in order, Victoria glanced over to the clock seeing she still had time to kill before classes started. "What to do now..." She thought aloud to herself as she smoothed out her black robe that she had opened, revealing a dark blue dress with black heels. Brushing some hair out of her face, Victoria settled on taking a nice little stroll around the castle.

Draco Malfoy smiled to himself as he reconnected with friends that he hadn't seen all break. It was crazy for him to think that he was going to be in his last year soon, which meant he would be done with this school soon. Listening to Crabbe go on about something he did over the break. Draco just nodded as he listened to the story, but was not interested for some reason. All he wanted to do was get his things together for class today and just enjoy this school year. No more playing around. No more ridiculousness. "Crabbe that sounds great, if you don't mind I need to go get my belongings for class from my room." He said before making his way back to the Slytherin Quarters. Grabbing his books and bag, Draco started walking back towards his friends, casually saying hello to some of the professors he passes as he walked by.

Looking through his things, Sirius let a small sigh escape from his lips his lines on his face showing he was older than he may look the majority of his days. Shaking his head, he was determined to make this year great considering he had gotten out of Azkaban and he had Harry to be proud of since his godson would soon be graduating, so the muggles say, Hogwarts. Shaking his head he smiled to himself a little wishing he had been there more for Harry. He was just glad Dumbledore had offered him this job. He was more than willing to be the new professor for Denfese Against The Dark Arts. He knew more about that than he would like to tell people, but more than anything he simply wanted to help children Harry's age be able to defend themselves instead of paralyzing in front of the enemy. Yawning, he simply set the things out in his classroom before sitting down in his chair and waiting for the school day to begin. They had already had the feast last night and now just needed them to get their schedules and go to their classes. He wasn't going to assign any homework since it was the first day of school. He felt it a bit too much since they had just gotten back. He wanted them to get used to school before having to worry and stress too much. Looking up, he saw professors walking in the hallways and he stood up gently smoothing his robes down as he made his way into the hallway where he saw a bunch of other professors. It was going to be very crazy on the first day of school, and he simply hoped he was ready for it.

Looking around, Alyssa pushed on the bridge of her glasses to push them up on her face so they covered her eyes more. Yawning, Alyssa pulled on her Ravenclaw robe on before pulling her brown hair into a braid at the side of her hair and over her left shoulder. Smoothing her robes down, she grabbed her books, which she seemed to have too many, and grabbed her bookbag and pulled it over her shoulder. As she walked down the hallways she noticed people saying hello to her and she nodded giving a greeting back in answer. She even gave a few smiles along with her hello. She wasn't a social butterfly like the majority of the kids here. She sighed seeing a bunch of her friends in a corner, and went over to say hello and ask how everyone's day was. While she was fond of school, Alyssa didn't want to overload herself with studies. She didn't want to be a Hermione Granger. She just didn't want to be, it was too tiring. She admired her for being able to do it, but she felt as if it were too much. Her and Hermione were on par, however. In scores at least. She didn't care that much. She knew she was intelligent, she just didn't care about school, though. Pulling herself away from her friends, Alyssa walked down the hallway a bit more, knowing that soon they all would have to get their schedules and she would have to be in class with other people. Finding a quiet spot away from people, she set her things down before pulling her sketch book out and starting to trace a picture slightly cursing to herself realizing she hadn't brought any colors, all she had was a charcoal pencil and she felt like pictures didn't hold any kind of dimension without color.

Victoria was walking throughout the castle, admiring the beauty it held. Sure she had went her as a student, but never truly admired what beauty the castle contained until she got older. Seeing Professor Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts, she stopped for a moment to have a quick chat with him. They conversation mainly consisted of how thrilled he was to have her at Hogwarts as a teacher and that he truly hoped she enjoyed her time here as a teacher. Knowing that she would, Victoria quickly responded with a sincere smile and a huge thank you, thanking the Headmaster for letting her come back as a teacher. Once their small conversation was finished, Dumbledore excused himself and Victoria went on her way with her walk. While she was walking, she couldn't help but notice the other new professor...Sirius Black. From all the stories that she had heard about that man, Victoria knew that he was always an innocent man, and when the news came from the Ministry that his name was cleared, Victoria was even more thrilled for the man. Seeing Sirius on what seemed like a casual walk himself, Victoria walked over to the man. "Hello Sir." She smiled, walking up to him.

Draco had found a spot in the courtyard to sit in while he waited for the first class of the day to begin. Looking over his schedule one more time, Draco smirked to himself. First class of the year was going to be Transformation with Professor M. McGonagall. That was going to be a little confusing for him now since there were two Professor McGonagalls, but he knew in time, it wouldn't be. Looking over to some of his friends, Draco had to ask to see everyone's schedules. He was very curious now to see what classes he would be taking with who. Nodding to himself as he read the different schedules, Draco just smirked. He didn't mind his friends and fellow housemates, it was just some times he wanted to get better acquainted with other students, those students not necessarily being in the same house as him. The one class he knew he was looking forward to be in was Defense Against the Dark Arts, which he figured everyone was looking forward to see. Being taught by the infamous Sirius Black...definitely a class worth being a part of. Glancing at the nearest clock in the courtyard, Draco waited patiently for the first class bell to ring.

Sirius saw Mrs. McGonagall and spoke to her for a little bit knowing that her daughter was here as a teacher as well was a big thing and smiled at her telling her how proud she must be and he was happy for her and all the teacher's here at Hogwarts. He left Snape out on purpose. He had always hated the little runt and so had the rest of his group when they were still alive. Lily had told James he was alright and such and that he was just jealous and all that and Sirius had told him it wasn't a good idea. He sighed thinking back on such things was never a good thing. Raising his hand up to his chin, he stroked his mustache for a moment while walking down the hallway knowing once McGonagall had every schedule passed out all the children would be ushered into their classes. Shaking his head, he waved at Dumbledore then saw Harry and gave him a hug before carrying on a small sort of smile on his face. He hadn't felt this content in years. Seeing Victoria walk over, he blinked before smiling softly and said, "Hello, Victoria. You do know you don't have to call me sir." He told her with a small wink, always the charming dog he was. He wished he could just transfigure right now and go on a walk. He had always preferred being a dog to a human. Things were far less complicated.

Alyssa smiled going over to Professor McGonagall and asking for her schedule before nodding and saying a quick thank you and she was looking forward to her transfiguration class with her like always. Walking away, she made a quick note seeing her first class she shared with some Slytherine kids. The majority of her classes were with Slytherines this year instead of Hufflepuffs. She noticed also that her classes had a lot of Gryfindors. Sighing, Alyssa stuffed her schedule into her book bag knowing where her first class was and how to get there. Alyssa stood at a short five foot and her hair lined her heart shaped face. Sighing once more, she stretched before putting her sketch book away and hearing a bell sound and making her way to her class. Finding it, she found she sat in a small desk almost towards the front. Once more, she pushed her glasses up glancing a little at the other kids with her emerald green eyes. She saw Draco and bit her lip sighing before looking down at her papers and knew this was going to be a horrific class considering it was Draco and Harry and Ron all in the same class - not to mention it was Snape's potions class. She also knew he always assigned cauldron partners and knew he wasn't fond of keeping the kids in the same houses together. She groaned before sighing and taking out a rag to wipe her glasses clean. Her wand was stored away in a pocket in her robes with held the Sigil of her house.

Victoria smiled at Sirius, and nodded. "Sorry, Sirius...it's just a small habit." She explained as she stood there with him. Looking over him with her eyes, she made a mental note of how well Sirius looked as a professor. She had never not seen Sirius looking tip top shape, from his clothes to his own curled hair, and that was something she had admired about him; that was something she would never tell anyone though. Considering the fact that she was engaged to be married to someone she had graduated Hogwarts with. They had been dating for a good year and he felt it was the perfect time to take the next step and become husband and wife. "Are you ready for your students today?" She asked curiously as she snapped back into reality.

Draco walked into his potions class and quickly took a seat. By now this class was a walk in the park, a piece of cake, so he knew he had nothing to lose with this class. Plus with Professor Snape teaching this class, he knew this would be an easy passed class for himself. When Ron and Harry walked into the room, Draco nodded a friendly hello; a lot had changed in the last year with them and now it was kind of nice to be able to socialize easier with them. Looking at Professor Snape as he entered the room, curiosity struck the young Malfoy boy as he waited to see who was going to be paired up with him this year for Potions. Glancing around the room, Draco noticed all the students and what houses they represented.

Sirius simply just smiled nodding his head towards her in a polite manner and said, "It's alright." He told her after a moment and said, "Old habits die hard, right?" He stretched his arms out gently before sighing seeing the hallways fill with children between ages of eleven and seventeen. Nodding his head once more to Victoria he said, "As ready as I'll ever be. Just glad I can help them learn to defend themselves. Excuse me, the flourish of children has appeared once more before us." He laughed softly at his wording before saying, "I'll talk to you later then." Nodding his head once more, he dipped his head before going back to his classroom putting a new face on. This face was all business so he could make sure the kids knew they couldn't run all over him. He would be kind, but wasn't about to have people act out just because they thought they could.

Alyssa finished wiping her glasses off, putting them back on and blinking a bit. Sadly, she could no see much without her glasses. It was all blurry. She could make out shapes but it wasn't focused at all. "Williams you're with Malfoy." Looking up, Alyssa blinked not understanding for a moment before sighing and understanding before getting up along with all the other children and stood by her cauldron having her bag by her legs and a text book out on top of the desk. She already knew how this year was going to go. Looking down, Alyssa fumbled with her hair before tugging the braid out and then letting her hair flow around her shoulders and down her back. Glancing over at Draco, she made sure to note that he didn't seem to be as mean as she once remembered. She looked over seeing one of her friends give her a sympathetic look and she simply sighed shaking her head. She knew she'd be going to the library in her free time just so she could have a quiet place to draw or something. "I'm Alyssa." She murmured to Draco her voice light and sweet.

Victoria smiled as she excused herself when the children started rushing to their classrooms. She was nervous as can be, first year as at Hogwarts as a teacher...and the youngest teacher at that. Walking in, she greeted everyone with a sincere smile. "Alright class, welcome to Charms. I'm Professor Victoria McGonagall, and before any of you ask....yes I am related to Minerva McGonagall." She smiled as she saw a couple of faces from the class look slightly confused the minute she introduced herself. Quickly picking up her book from her desk, Victoria began writing down some things on the chalkboard before turning back to the class once again. "Okay today is going to be a easy day, but not a 100% simple." She said as she looked around the classroom to each student. "Go ahead and get into a group of two as we're going to work on the following charms." She instructed the class as she began walking back to her own desk and sat down, watching the class as they began working.

Draco looked over at Alyssa when Snape assigned her with him. He just smirked a little to himself, finding it kind of interesting that he was working with a person outside of the Slytherin Household. The moment she sat down, Draco just looked at her and smiled a little. He could tell just by her body language that she was a little nervous about being partnered up with him. "I'm Draco he said with the same smirk spread across his face as he looked at him. He didn't say anything else though as he turned his face down to open up his potions book. He then looked up to Alyssa once more and said "So, how are you with potions?" He asked, trying to make small conversation with her. Draco knew that in the past, a lot of people didn't particularly like him, however, he wanted to prove that he was different...he was nicer.

Sirius sighed when they all asked questions about Azkaban and all of that junk and he shook his head and said, "We will not be talking about my past, as interesting it may seem to all of you. We will be talking and discussing the nature of the Dark Arts and how many people have lost their lives to it. I'm here to teach you how to defend yourself. By no means should any of you go looking for trouble." He told them trying to keep the smile from his face remembering when he was in Hogwarts Peter, Lupus, James, and himself had all but kept out of trouble. They were the most troublesome Hogwarts had ever seen. Then James met Lily and the adventure continued, but in a new manner. Less time spent looking for adventures and more exploring the adventures they had already found. While the other guys, except for Peter, had found someone, Sirius had no time for such pleasantries. Sirius made a point to show them how to disarm someone and block and then wrote different things on the chalkboard, diagrams and all of that. He showed them how to protect themselves from different spells.

Alyssa simply sighed gently not giving him a sideways glance anymore, having felt his eyes are her already. She didn't feel comfortable with someone constantly looking at her. It was rather uncomfortable. Hearing him say he was Draco she simply nodded. It wasn't that she was uncomfortable it was that she didn't like partners to begin with. She found that she worked best alone. Especially since she was what one would call antisocial. She preferred the company of books and sketch books to actual living and breathing wizards and witches. Hearing his questions, she turned her emerald eyes to his rather grey ones and murmured, "I'm fine at them." She didn't want to be persumptuous or anything of that nature. She was rather modest about her intelligence. Looking up once she heard Snape begin to speak about the potion they would be making today. She set her cauldron out before listening to the potion and sighing. She'd already made this potion. He said start and she was doing it and almost halfway done before 10 minutes had passed. Once finished, she took her book and bit at her soft pink lips before reading.

Victoria smiled as she began teaching the class a couple of charms. As she waited the students practice the charms, she just smiled remembering her days in this class. When attending Hogwarts, she had always dreamed of teaching at the school and here she was. Walking around the classroom, she just smiled seeing the enthusiasm is the students as they did the charms correctly. "Good Job!" She told the students as she walked past them. When the class period ended, she just smiled quickly giving the class easy homework. She then dismissed them before taking on another group of students. At the end of the day, Victoria was exhausted yet enjoyed it. She definitely had a variety of students, but she was 100% okay with that. Once the last of the students were out of her classroom, she quickly tidyed up her office space before walking out of the room. Nodding to a couple of professors she saw, Victoria wandered her way to the lake. It was such a peaceful place for herself to just relax after a rather busy day.

Draco watched her cautiously seeing that she was a rather quiet person, who kept to herself mainly. Not wanting to make things awkward between them, or more awkward than it slightly was, he simply began working on his own. As he and Alyssa both worked on their potions, separately, Draco would occasionally glance over to his partner's, making sure that he was doing it right. When he glanced over one more time, and noticed that she had finished, Draco's jaw couldn't help but drop. Looking down at his own work, he sighed, he was only halfway through. Looking over to her once more, Draco just smirked, rather impressed by her work. 'You know it takes a very special person to get through their potions assignment like it's nothing while their classmates are only halfway through or less." He smiled. "I'm very impressed." He commented, hoping she would take his comment as a compliment. He went back to doing his work, quickly finishing moments later. Since they were both done, Draco decided to take this time and get to know his fellow potions classmate more...that was if she would let him. "So Alyssa, is potions your favorite class?" He asked curiously.

Sirius did the same thing every class, except in a different level considering he taught everyone at a different level since they were all different grades. He knew he had the slytherines with the Gryfindors on Thursday because that was when Harry was going to be in his class. Looking around, he made sure they were all doing their work figuring tomorrow he would do a little bit of notetaking before practicing more spells once more. When the class was done with he sighed closing his door for the day and stretching. He was tired, but most of all happy that the majority of the students had not seemed bored. He had given points to houses and had not had to take points away. It made his day knowing he didn't have to take points away from houses because one person was stupid or being rude. He figured his first day had gone fairly well all things considering. When he turned around he was surprised when his body met someone else. Immediately his hand shot out to catch the person he had almost knocked down. Looking down he saw it was Victoria. "My apologies." He said gently putting her up right once more.

Engrossed in her book, Alyssa barely heard Draco when he spoke to her. Looking up with a kind of hazed expression on her face, she pursed her lips before, murmuring, "We did this potion at the end of last year." She gave a gentle shrug, not knowing what to respond hearing him say he was impressed. What that supposed to make her feel good? She just gave a gentle smile before returning to her book. She knew Snape never had anything bad to say about her work. He simply curled his lip and went to another person to make fun of. She kept to herself as well, never raising her hand to answer anything. Only answering a question when called on. She found it worked better that way. She didn't care too much about being the most intelligent person on the planet. It never occurred to her. Brushing her hair out of her face, she pushed her glasses up on the bride of her nose looking over once more hearing Draco speaking. "No, it's not. My favourite class is Alchemy. Granted, it's supposed to only be for sixth and seventh years." She murmured gently before giving another gentle smile before shrugging once more. "What is yours?" She asked simply to be polite and not seem like she was full of herself.

Victoria was lost in her own little word when she was practically knocked off her feet. Trying to make sure she didn't fall, she was quickly surprised when she felt someone grab a hold of her making sure she didn't fall. Looking up at the person who saved her, Victoria instantly blushed seeing that it was Sirius. "Oh...it's okay." She said when she realized it was Sirius who knocked her down by pure accident. Sitting up straight, she looked to him, giving him a reassuring smile. "It's okay, really." She looked to him, mentally taking in how he looked. So nice, so well dressed, so handsome... She stopped herself as she thought more about this. She snapped out of her own little thoughts for a moment, looking to Sirius. "And what are you doing right now?" She asked, trying to create small talk with him.

Draco watched her and listened as Professor Snape commented on Alyssa's work. He went back to doing his work and listening to her tell him what her actual favorite class was. He couldn't figure it out but there was something about her that made him rather interested in her. "Alchemy...that's an interesting class. Not my favorite, but definitely one of the ones that I enjoy...at least I try to enjoy." He admitted as he looked to her. Thinking about his favorite class, or at least the one that interested him the most, Draco frowned a little to himself. What was his favorite class? Thinking a little bit more on it, he finally settled on Defense Against the Dark Arts. "I would have to say Defense Against the Dark Arts." He said with a slight smirk. "Just studying about all the different things in Dark Arts is cool, but learning how to handle the Dark Arts is awesome as well."

Sirius smiled at her apologetically. "I'm sorry." He said once more before she could get a word out of her mouth. He noticed her blush and bit his lip gently before running a hand throughout his hair. She was rather pretty. He shook his head knowing she was engaged. He didn't want to make problems, besides she would never want someone like him. He sighed before blinking he smiled seeing her smile and nodded before bringing his arms to his chest not sure how to hold himself in this type of situation. He blinked hearing her and said, "I was going to go get a butterbeer or something. I'm not sure." He gave a nervous laugh before looking up at her with his deep eyes and asked, "Would you like a butterbeer?" He gave a small grin that was just friendly. He wasn't trying to hint at anything just trying to be nice and such.

Alyssa watched him with her emerald eyes and gasped when her hair was suddenly not in a braid anymore and sighed seeing her last pony tail holder had broke. She sighed before shaking her head. Her pretty brown hair laid down on her shoulders and surrounded her face in waves. She looked back at him ignoring her hair issue and murmured, "I suppose so. Though, I don't quite agree with the majority of how they try to teach us. They should be realists about it." She was quite opinionated and didn't know how to keep the bluntness from her voice. She then sighed seeing none of the kids were anywhere done. She knew Snape hated Ravenclaws because most of them were all about wit and nothing else and it was quite embarassing. Why did the houses have to value one thing above all else? She didn't understand. She wanted to be brave, witful, ambitious, and patient. She didn't want to just be 'smart girl.' That wasn't her. She pulled herself from her thoughts to rest her eyes on Draco's pale blue ones. She always looked someone in the eyes when looking at them or speaking to them.

Victoria looked to the older professor and smiled. There was something about him that made her smile, but she knew she wasn't the only woman to have this happen to then. Word around the school was that Sirius Black was indeed a charmer and could make just about any woman...and boy they weren't lying. He definitely made her smile, even if it was just a friendly smile. When he asked her if she wanted to go get butterbeer, that same smile stayed placed on her lips. "I would like that." She said. "I'm not really doing anything at the moment, and was just walking around the castle."

Draco looked to the girl and nodded. With everyone that he first met, he tried to be as nice as possible. It gave him a sense to see what kind of person they were and if they were worth his time or not. He didn't say much as he listened to her go on about what he considered to be his favorite class and how they needed to be realistic and all. It was getting to the point where it seemed more like blah, blah, blah to him as she continued to speak. "Well...everyone has a favorite...I think the class is good enough...but it's clear for others it must seem almost like a joke." He explained. He then turned his attention back to Snape, quickly answering his question, before being successfully rewarded with 25 points to Slytherin for answering the question right. He then smirked, feeling very proud of himself.
