Martha's job was complicated. The blonde could never stay in one place for too long, consequently moving around the world at an uneven pace. She couldn't make relationships either - she didn't have time for friendships, but she makes the odd acquaintance here and there. Her mind was set on one thing..

    Making the world safe.

Being a hunter had its perks, she had to admit. It made Martha cautious, and never would she be distracted by everyday life. Also, she'd get paid for her services - which helps with the hotel rooms and the quick disappearances. Now, Martha was driving to a scene where she expected a clan of pesky creatures lived - and she planned to put a stop to it. Soon, her car pulled up to the small seemingly abandoned warehouse, as she carefully climbed out her car. Opening the boot, she pulled out her equipment - a crossbow which she carried on her shoulder, a gun now hoisted into her belt, and a knife which she placed into her boot. Now, she was ready to kick some supernatural ass.

Walking into the warehouse, she paused. Martha couldn't hear anything... She wasn't going to let her guard down, she knew that was what the monsters wanted... But when she looked into a small room to the side, she frowned. There was about twenty bodies, and they all had the common signs of being a vampire - unnatural long rows of sharp teeth, veins in the side of their head and neck, and the rest. The weird thing is that they were all killed beautifully - someone was here before her.

Turning around she investigated the warehouse. The person who killed these creatures probably left, but it wouldn't harm to check.

    Right?

Ivan's clan had been spotted by a group of hunters. And he knew that there was no getting out of it. He had left to ty and track the hunters that were coming for him. By the time he returned his second in command had killed all of the clan, furious Ivan killed him, but made it to look like a hunter had done it all. Fastened with a gun on his hip and knives around his waist Ivan heard someone approach. As he heard the Hunter walking around the warehouse he silently stalked her, he could tell that if he really wanted to he could have killed her right then and there. But instead he decided to save his own ass. He pulled his gun before quietly apparoaching. "You're here for the same reason?" He asked in his thick Russian accent. It was the one thing he hadn't learned to hide about his identity. The rest he could. He looked fairly human. Just an extremely attractive, pale, Russian immigrant he tried to play off as. "Looks like someone beat us to it." He commented, still fun ready incase she came after him. "How long have you been hunting?" He asked.

Ivan walked around the room with his dead comrades, looking over each of their faces. He kept his emotions hidden. Knowing no Hunter would feel sympathy for vampires. But it was his clan and now he was alone. He didn't know what to do. Probaby return to Russia. But he glanced around and at Martha and shrugged his shoulders. "Never seen a clan killed this cleanly."

    ((don't worry~!!))

Martha turned around quickly when she heard a thick Russian voice, and she raised her crossbow high. Her eyes studied the man, a brow raised quizzically. When he spoke about hunting, she felt her shoulders relax - her guard was still high, but she felt a bit eased that this man claimed to be a hunter. "12 years I've hunted for, and this is... Well, it's a brutal but well planned massacre." The blonde commented with a sad smile, as she looked over at the bodies. "I'm trying not to feel sympathetic, but... I think it's overkill, if I'm honest."

Her gaze lingered on a few faces, before she looked back at the man. "I'm Martha - the hunter with a soft side." With a chuckle, she stuck out a hand, intending on the other to shake. His hand was fairly warm, which calmed her even more. Only elite vampires could fake warmth from their body, as most of them are stone cold - so she was convinced this man was a human.

She walked into the room containing the bodies, and crouched down over a small body. Placing her hand over the small child's eyes, she slowly dragged it down, closing the boy's eyes. "I'm the type of hunter that will only hurt the ones who have hurt others - children, however, regardless of what they are..." Standing up, she stepped out of the room cutting herself short of her words, and looked up to him because of the height difference.

"I don't know about you, but I'm starving. I'm going to the local diner, if you wanted to... Y'know, tag along? It's been a while since I've met another hunter." She offered with a dimpled smile. He was... Well, a nice looking man - but she tried to ignore his looks... Even though they were flawless.

Ivan watched as Martha had her crossbow at him, gun trained on her. He smirked slightly as her guard was lowered only slightly, though easily hid it again. "I've got Ya beat, 15 for me." He chuckled and showed her a badge that he had stolen from a 15 year Hunter that he had killed to protect his clan. He had saved it for a case like this where he needed to survive. But he thought it would be to save his clan, not his own ass. This Hunter was quite a pretty girl, he thought, why not? When she introduced herself he could help but chuckle. "Hope you're not too easy on the soft side. That'll get you killed. But I'm sure with 12 years you know that." He commented. Ivan was one of the highest ranking vampires in the entire community of them. He easily ran clans and could manage to disguise himself to live in society for years at a time. He had mastered everything about the life and surviving with people trying to kill him.

"They may be innocent as children. But vampire Holstein are very unpredictable. And very powerful. It's crazy huh?" He commented and knelt down raises another, closing her eyes as well. He sighed softly as he looked at her, she was his nephew. When she looked up at him he looked down and flashed a grin. "Food? Sounds great, I'm starved." He said. Ivan had even been able to digest small amounts of human food, even more if it was a rare steak. But he was starved and needed some blood. He figured he would do that later, hopefully before bloodlust set in and his eyes turned red. "You got a vehicle? I walked out here. Not my brightest idea."
He said chuckling. Following Martha out to her car. He slowly slid into the passengers seat and watched ahead of them as she drove. "So tell me about yourself?" He asked casually, hand tapping lightly on his knee

As Martha watched Ivan, she noticed how... Well, attractive he was. Of course, she pushed that aside - she couldn't be thinking like that, not when there were potential threats out there. "I only have a soft spot for the children. I always hesitate with the little assholes." She joked, before looking at Ivan. "Yeah, I have a vehicle - my car's just outside."

Once inside the car, there was awkward silence before he broke the tension in the air. She cast a glance to him, before she smirked. "Myself? There's really not much to know - born into a family of hunters, I'm 24, and I used to have a dog. Seriously, that's as interesting as it gets." Letting out a small laugh, she pulled out of the space she was parked in and drove to the nearest diner. "What about yourself? If you don't want to talk about family, that's fine - I was pretty vague about mine. Tell me some of your hobbies or something."

Showing him a wide smile, she drove focusing on the road. She hasn't relaxed with someone else in a while, let alone another hunter.... Let alone a hot hunter.

Ivan nodded and chuckled softly as she called them little assholes, that really was what they were. He knew that well. Personally Ivan never had children, but he had many siblings who gave him nieces and nephews that were like children too him. "I was born in Russia, was one of the great hunters out there. Then was sent here to fight off the clans that begun immigrating from Russia to keep sharp. Fought and hunt since I was thirteen, twenty eight now.." He said and shrugged. "My parents live in Russia. Never settled down or nothing cause of this life." He said looking out the window again. Ivan thought he was doing fairly well at concealing his identity. He seemed like a real Russian immigrant he thought to himself. Ivan's was very bp vulnerable right now so if Martha found out his true identity she could easily take him out. As they approached the diner Ivan quckly hopped out, going as quickly, but not enough to show his inhuman speed, around to open the door for Martha.

Ivan offered his arm and headed into the diner with Martha. The hostess gave the, a booth and he sat across from her, opening the menu as his eyes scanned it. Even though Ivan had been in America for a while. He still had his accent and didn't know everything about it. So he sometimes came off as a confused immigrant, and living in the south was never good, as there were some very conservative assholes. They set him off and he just hoped he wouldn't meet one tonight, he would have a hard time containing himself. When the waitress came back he ordered a rare steak, and a water, with a side of fries. Then glanced across at Martha, when she ordered he handed his menu back. "Any plans for the night? Anymore hunting that you got assigned for?" He asked and ran a hand through his hair.

Martha stayed silent as she listened to Ivan, and just smiled and nodded in response to his words. When he opened the door, she felt a smile stretch her lips, and thanked him. Sitting down in the booth, she thanked the waitress for the menu, and then her bright eyes scanned the menu.

Occasionally she looked up, and saw Ivan seemingly confused - and she guessed it was because he was originally from Russia, and the American slang wasn't the most easy to understand. "How was Russia? I mean, I've always wanted to go... Is it worth visiting?" She offered to break the ice with her words, as she smiled softly. Then the waitress came, and she ordered the cheapest salad and some water.

"My plans for the night are packing my bags and going on a road trip to my next hunt. Sheriff of the town wants me to investigate another supposed vampire incident. What about you? Surely you've got something more interesting to do." A thought sparked into her mind, as Martha looked down and then back at Ivan.

"If you weren't busy, you could join me. Hunting, of course. It would be nice to have someone to actually chat to while driving for once."

As Ivan glanced around the place, thinking things through he looked across at Martha. "Sorry about all my confusion. This country is different than my home country. All the slang and language is different and all that." He commented as they waited for their food to arrive. "It's a nice,
Cold, big country. Lots of hearty men. Not that bad of a vampire anymore. Thanks to me. If I go back to it you're very welcome to come with me." He murmured.

The waitress brought their food and Ivan cut into the rare steak, blood still dropping from the meat as he ate it. "This is very good." He commented as he continued to eat. "That's the life." He chuckled. Ivan knew exactly what vampire problem she was talking about. He decided to warn a few of the members of the clan, only his family as not to make her suspicious by getting them all evacuated. He pulled his phone out, acting as if he was checking his schedule. Bht really sent a message to a cousin. "I have nothing planned for the next week or so." He said

When she brought up him tagging along he smiled slightly. Ivan didn't want to go back home and face what he would by losing his clas. She was quite attractive too, so he thought why not. "I would like that. It also would be safer for both of us to hve eah others backs." He commented as he finished his food and begun to pull money from his wallet, which he had stolen.

Martha ate her salad happily, as she listened to Ivan describe Russia. She let out a few chuckles here and there, but stayed silent as she listened to him. When he spoke about the hunt, she let out a small smile. "Yep, it would be safer." She agreed with a bigger smile.

When she finished her food, she paid for her half of it (refusing Ivan's offer for him to pay for her meal) and finished her water. "So... I'm staying at the hotel half way down the road. It's not the best accommodation, but it's alright for being free. I planned on leaving early in the morning to get to the hunt, and there's two beds in the room... So, like, did you wanna' stay the night? As in, like a sleep over - with different beds."

Letting out a nervous laugh, she walked out of the diner and looked over at Ivan. "Or if not, could I have your number so I could text you when I leave? I can drop you home if you want."

Ivan stood and smoothed his clothes down as he stood and followed Martha out of the diner and towards her car. "That sounds like a good offer." He murmured in his thick accent. "I stay fit by my walking to scenes and such, I don't live near here. And it'll be easier to just leave in the morning if I stay."
One thing Ivan didn't understand about humans was why things made them so awkward, nervous, and jittery, he simply raised an eyebrow at her before sliding into the passenger seat.

During the drive Ivan pulled out the phone he had and messaged a few other nearby vampires again. Ivan and a few other vampires were very good at fitting into society, which was why they ran the best clans. Ivan had never failed like this. He was disappointed and wasn't going to let another vampire go through it.

When the pair arrived at the motel Ivan followed Martha inside, he took off his coat and threw it into the bed he had. He looked out the window into the woods. Thinking to himself that the wildlife out there could sustain his bloodlust that night, he would just have to slip out while she was asleep.
