Jim had spent several years alone now, his wife had left him and he had no one but his work. It was for the best it didn't put his family in any danger and he had less distractions to worry about. He vowed to protect and clean Gotham with the help of the Batman and he was going to do it. Even if it took him years, they would make this city come alive again at least that was his hope. Most people have given up on Gotham but things had gotten better since the Bat had arrived and hopefully it would move forward.

Another night waiting on the roof top drinking coffee and waiting on the Batman for any news of more mafia crimes. He leaned back for a moment and watched the bright bat signal in the night sky, most people saw it as a signal of hope for this city and criminals feared it. Jim knew that people outside of Gotham who lived in other cities like Metropolis, Central, or Star city didn't understand the concept of this vigilante. They had heroes of their own who worked with the police but Bat got a lot more done alone and Jim respected that.

Harley Quinn was a sweet and caring gal, she loved animals and circus themed clothing. She was also a maniac and loved causing chaos and annoying the Batman. She and her best friend Poison Ivy had brought so much chaos to Gotham and she loved it. Before Ivy there was her puddin' she has loved that crazy clown so much and he hurt her every time. She showed him so much love and affection and what did he do? Abused her in the worst of ways, he almost left her for dead when she almost drowned sinking with his purple Lamborghini. That was until the Bat saved her.

Harley owned that stinking Bat her life and she knew this and as much as she hated him she couldn't kill him. Also knowing that Joker wouldn't let her, she always came back crawling to him. They would make up and make out for hours and then the cycle would start all over again, until one day she snapped, something that the Batman had said to Harley had finally gotten to her. So she packed her bags and left and now she lived with Poison Ivy who took care of Harley's wounds and even came her antidotes for her toxins, that's how great of friends they were.

(Sorry it took me so long I was brain storming!)

Katie sighed softly to herself as she spend another late night in the office. She was truly devoted to her work, or as her husband would put it, she was a workaholic. Glancing up at the clock, she took a moment for looking at the several files to just rest her eyes. At this point, Katie looked around the office to see that she was one of the only people in the office. Quickly getting up from her chair, she walked across the office to go make fresh coffee, when she noticed that a freshly brewed pot was already made. Who could be here that would also be drinking coffee late at night? Her eyes scanned the room till they stopped on one particular person's office. The lights were on, which meant he was still here. Smirking to herself, she made her cup of coffee before walking up to the rooftop, knowing where HE was.

When she walked out onto the rooftop, Katie couldn't help but smile a little more. Seeing Commissioner Gordon standing there looking up to the night time sky, she knew he was waiting on one thing...The Batman. Taking a sip of her coffee, Katie quietly made her way over to Jim and placed her coffee down on a little table they had out there. "Another late night, I see." She said as she walked over to him. "Jim why don't you go home?" She asked, knowing good and well that he would ask her the same thing.

The Joker, one of, if not the most well-known villain in Gotham smiled as he watched his men handle some minor business. Once that was said and done, he headed back to his place, knowing that The Batman would be out looking for him...he always was. But the good thing the Joke always liked was he rarely got caught by the Batman, and even when he did, he always managed to escape.

When he got back to his place, Joker sighed to himself. Sure, he was causing more chaos within the streets of Gotham, but it just wasn't the same. He needed someone, someone he loved dearly. He needed his girl, Harley Quinn. This time when she walked out, he was truly beside himself, and it had actually gotten worse because he had no clue where she was. He had heard on the streets that Harley was with Poison Ivy, but he wasn't quite ready to go find out. Looking at his men, he instructed them to go spy to see if the rumors were true about where his Harley was. He was going to get her back...somehow, some way.

(Sorry it took me awhile to reply I've been kinda busy. Also gonna see suicide squad tonight so just a heads up.)

Jim had spent countless nights helping the Batman catch criminals or as the Capr Crusader would say he was helping Gordon lock up criminals. Jim felt the Bat did more to help then the cops around here. Of course he wouldn't admit that to anyone. He knew how busy the Dark Knight's nights were, especially now that the Joker had broken out of Arkham and his lover causing trouble with the redhead bombshell Poison Ivy. How did Gotham attract so many crazy villains?

Jim rubbed his temples, as he thought how Batman could possibly do this alone and then found out he had a few sidekicks. Made sense he guessed, he was late more so than usual and Jim knew why, the loss of a partner was hard and Jim more than anyone knew that. Looking up when someone talked he smiled softly, "he's running late tonight, understandable." Jim shook his head, "I can't until I find out what information he has and e always has something, why are you still here? It's late "

Harley was lying on her back in her underwear and her legs in the air as she chewed gum, thinking back this was the best decision she has ever done. Poison Ivy had been so good to her and she was glad she had someone to rub to when thinks with the prince of crime were bad. "Hey Red, you think my puddin' is thinkin' bout me?" She asked innocently, ivy whipped her head around and sighed. "No, I don't sweet pea, he's an awful person who cares about nobody but himself. You are too good for that fool" ivy sat next to her.

Harley couldn't woo it though she spent so many years with the Joker she loved him and she gave herself to him and he tormented her mentally and physically. Tears fell down her pale face, "oh Harl don't cry he doesn't deserve you.. " Harley crawled on top of ivy's lap as the red headed petted the blonde gymnast ex psychiatrist.

Katie smirked a little to herself once more when he acknowledged her presence. "Of course he's running late..." She thought to herself as she stood there. She brought her attention back to Jim when he asked she was still there and making the comment that it was late. She sighed, knowing that he was right. "I know..but I couldn't leave you here by yourself to deal with this work...it wouldn't be right." She spoke as she picked up her coffee cup. "There is so much that has been going on lately, I want to make sure I am always right behind you." She added before taking a sip of her coffee.

She then placed her cup back down on the small table and looked back to Jim. She could tell that he was tired, mentally and physically. "Commissioner." She said addressing him. "You are worn down, and don't say you're not. You look exhausted as hell and I'm sure if you look exhausted then your mind must be feeling the same, if not worse." She noted. She moved a little closer to him to give him a stern look on her face when she heard her phone go off. She sighed, knowing right away who it was. Who would always call her this late...her husband, Derek. She didn't say another word to Jim as she pulled her iPhone out of her back pocket and answered it, stepping away from the Commissioner for a moment.

When she came back, she had that look of annoyance on her face. "I wish he'd understand better." She mumbled to herself as she picked up her coffee once again. She then looked to Jim, putting a smile back on her face. "You ready to go back inside yet?"

Joker waited impatiently for his men to return with some information or even whereabouts with Harley. He was practically dying to see her, and would do just about anything and everything it would take to get her back. To this day he still didn't understand why she needed to leave like she did. Sure, he could be a hard man to work with some time, but in the end of the day, he loved her and that should be the only thing that mattered.

He continued to pace across the room of his place, waiting and waiting. Usually when it came to things like this, he would keep himself preoccupied or find something to tinker with until his men came back. However when it came to Harley Quinn, that was certainly a different story. That was his Baby Girl. He's Sweetheart. He's Cupcake. He's Girl. And to have her leave like she did, for what seemed like permanently, The Joker was NOT okay with that.

While he impatiently waited for some of his men to come back, another one of his men walked in giving him a quick update on Batman. "Well just make sure he doesn't find us here." He instructed them before going back to pacing the room.

Jim finished up his cup and looked at Katie who was still talking and he always wondered why she stuck around. More than even his best cops she was always there and it confused him, shouldn't she be visiting her husband? He probably doesn't see her much, with Katie always being here. Of course Jim wasn't about to meddle in something that didn't concern him, he wasn't that type. "I appreciate it but doesn't your husband miss you? He's called a few times asking for you," he looked out at the night sky as he talked.

Commissioner Gordon looked at Katie and smiled, "it's something I'm used to, I've got two teenagers and a young adult girl in college I'm sure I can manage this better" he laughed. His children were ever the understanding they also lived with those mother, except for Barbara who chose to stay by his side, his pride and joy. She went to Gotham City University and was a brilliant student studying law. As soon as he heard a phone ring he looked up at Katie and then at his own that was now ringing. He picked up, "Barbara? It's late shouldn't you be sleeping?" He asked and chuckled later when she remarked about how there's no rest for the wicked. "I suppose you mean me as well, I'm fine I'm about to head home, Batman seems to have his hands full, all right sweetheart I'll see you in a couple days, I love you" he hung up.

Jim was confused as to what Katie was talking about but didn't say much he didn't want to be nosy. "I suppose so, my daughter just convinced me to go home so I have to" he chuckled. If there was one person who the commissioner really listened to was either the Bat or his eldest daughter,

Harley knew this was for the best, being away from that demented and. Riel clown. She didn't need that, she wanted to be free and here she was with her dearest friend Red as she called poison ivy. "All right Harley enough bouncing around we gotta go to sleep, long day of crime tomorrow" she purred in Harley's ear.

Harley and Ivy has a very special friendship they were really close, some may have said lovers. Of course Harley just saw it as being playful, though sometimes she took it too far. Harley was a flirt that's what she did best, she knew how to get we way around men. Yet, she loved kissing women more, they had soft skin and lips and their hair was beautiful.

Ivy looked at Harley who was giving her this "look" she rolled her eyes, "you're too much sometimes sweet pea" she whispered, Ivy was hovering over Harley now and leaned forward and captured her red lips with her green ones, a soft kiss soon turned into a passionate one. Ivy pulled away two minutes later, "there, you've got your lovin now let's sleep" Harley moaned in content and curled up against her favorited redhead, falling asleep I. Her arms. If Mistah J ever found out about her intimate relationship with Ivy he would do something crazy. Not that Harley would allow that, she adored her Red.

(Sorry for the late reply I've been really tired lately lkl anyway, i wanted to add that poison ivy Harley relationship that will drive joker crazy with jealous xD also it's very canon XD)

Katie looked at Jim and couldn't help but smile when he agreed to finally go inside. She picked up both coffee cups before walking back inside with Jim this time. When they walked back into the building, Katie smirked to herself seeing that they were the only ones left in the building. "Well it's just you and me now, Sir." She said with a small smile as she walked into the kitchen of the office to place their cups in the sink. She then walked back over to him and smiled. "Well I think it's time to close up shop and head home." She said as she looked at him. She quickly packed up her little bag, ready to leave. Anytime that they would work late like this, Katie and Jim always left at the same time...together.

Just as she was packing her things, Katie received another phone call. It was her husband wanting to know when she was seriously coming home. She was slightly aggravated that he kept calling. She knew he was concerned for her and her constant working, but when was enough enough with it. "Henry we will talk about this when I get home....even though we've talked about this before." She didn't want to fight, she just wanted to work. She wanted to catch the bad guys, help the Commissioner, and live her life.

When she hung up the phone this time, Katie had tears in her eyes. How could Henry not understand this? Why does he get some upset over her working late when he spends late nights with his guy friends once in a while. "This is getting absolutely ridiculous." She mumbled as she wiped away a single tear that managed to make its way down her cheek.

Joker sighed impatiently to himself once again as he waited and waited and waited for his men to return. He knew something had to be up since they had been gone a little while. The only thing he hoped was that nothing bad happened to his Harley. Yes they might have been in a little tiff but he never wanted anything bad to happen to her. She was his girl and he never wanted to see his girl hurt.

His mind filled with slight concern and wonder as he waited. Finally when his men arrived back, Joker was more than ready for some news about the whereabouts on his girl. Where was she? Was the rumors true? Was she staying with Poison Ivy?

No words came from the man's mouth. He just looked to one of his men as they gave him a full status report update on Little Miss Harley Quinn. A crooked smile crept onto his pale white face as he listened to his men. He had found her and now he was planning to get her back...one way or another.

"Perfect." He finally spoke with his crazed laugh filling the room. "By this time tomorrow night Harley Quinn will be mine again." He chuckled.

Jim looked at Katie and simply nodded as he grabbed some files and put them In his bag. Wondering if he had forgotten anything, he looked at the picture of his kids and his office and smiled. Even though his marriage failed he was still friends with his ex wife. She wanted out of Gotham and he wanted to stay things didn't work out. So they split, the kids were now old enough to understand and while two of them left with their mother, Barbara had stayed to keep we father company that and the fact she was a vigilante as well, of course he didn't know that. He would never know.

Jim turned off all the lights and began to lock the doors before looking up at the woman who was clearly stressed out. "Is everything all right Ma Jackson you loon like you've had quite tma stressful evening.." He didn't want to be invasive but she was obviously stressed out and he just wanted to help in any shape r form.

Ivy had always had a soft spot for Harley something about her just made her happy. Harley was curled up sleeping while ivy walked around checking on her plants. Her home was like a jungle covered with vines and flowers all around. She loved her babies and no one would ever come between them.

Harley stirred I her sleep whimpering every so often, crying out for her puddin' yet at the same time she wanted no part of their relationship. All she wanted was to be happy. Harley breathed softly dreaming about Joker and their future, would e always treat her this way? Sometimes he was real rough with her and sometimes he was gentle Harley was finally opening her eyes.

Katie looked at Jim when he asked if everything was aright. She sighed to herself, knowing she could lie to the Commissioner. To her, Jim and her seemed to have a rather good relationship. She looked up at him and sighed softly. "To be honest...no." She said as she walked with him to the door. "Henry is constantly on my case about working late, I just wish he'd understand how important my job is." She mumbled as she accidently brushed up against Jim as they walked.

Joker had made his way to his home bar, quickly making himself a drink as he ran through the ideas in his head. He had to find the perfect plan to get his Harley back. Sure there was going to be some fight to get her back, even from her, but the key thing is that he wanted her back.

Taking a sip of his drink, Joker looked at to one of his men who walked in. "Any ideas has to how we're going to get my Harley back?" He asked him. When the man didn't have an answer, He looked at him with a slightly evil grin before pulling out his gun and shot the man. He then placed the gun on the counter of the bar finishing his drink.

Jim watched the blonde woman as she spoke and they walked out of the offices. "Well, i think he's concerned for your well being, I know how much stress this job can have on a marriage it ruined mine and here I am divorced " he sighed. "I spent most of my life dedicated to my work and that's something no one should do, maybe you should take a break and spend some time with your family.. I don't mean to preach do as you'd like I just I know how it feels I was in your shoes once.."

Harley spent her days causing chaos with Ivy and they'd go out to movies like regular girls in disguise. Or they would go to carnivals but not often cause a lot of it reminded Harley of her "puddin' " not that she should think about that creep. She lied on the bed j. Her underwear and she looked at Ivy, "so what now red? "

Ivy looked at her lover with loving eyes and walked over to her standing in front f her, also in her underwear. Her green skin and bright red hair as she. Cupped Harley's cheek, "now we plan a vacation away from this place.. Just the two of us"

Katie looked at him and smiled, loving how he was concerned for her and spending time with her husband. "Thank you Jim, I love your concern. I'll think about taking some time off once we're done with this case." She said softly. She then looked at him. "I couldn't leave you by yourself to do all this work, and just be relaxing on my own." She smiled at him.

Jim looked at Katie and smiled politely at her, "I'm the considerate one? You've been staying over all this week, it's about time you went home and relaxed for once" he smiled widely.

Katie looked at him, smiled, and shook her head. "I'm not going to relax till you relax, and I know that won't be till this case is finished, so looks like I won't be relaxing yet." She said with a sweet smile.

(Sounds like a good plan. Batman and an intern...sounds like fun lol.)

Jim laughed out loud, something he barely did now a days and shook his head. "All right Ms. Jackson. Just as you know that most of or nights will be long," he waved goodbye as he got into his car.
