    Summer was over, and it was back to hell. Christian walked into the school building with his black sunglasses still perched on his nose. He was slightly hung over, just a tad. His head throbbed, and his eyes were sore. He may have stayed up drinking the night before. His excuse? He was celebrating the beginning of Senior year. Pfft, yea right. With his backpack slung over one shoulder he slowly made his way down the crowded hall to his locker, colliding into shoulders, walking without any worry for others. He just needed to get to his locker, take some ibuprofen and get to class so he could sleep.

    Christian had spent summer break at the beach, drinking and smoking, with his best friend Jase. Last night of course was spent alone, in his room. Just him and his guitar and a bottle of Jack, his second best friend. Christian leaned against the locker next to his as he fumbled with the lock before pulling it open. He shoved his bag in, not bothering to take out any paper or a pen. He never took notes, the supplies was just for show. He wasn’t worried about school, he planned on leaving directly after they graduated anyway.

    “Does it have to be so goddamn loud in here?” He was mumbling to himself as he searched for the half empty bottle of ibuprofen he kept hidden in his locker. The sounds of running, and loud chatter from the kids around him was causing his head to throb, and the nausea to rear its ugly head once more. Once he was able to find the pills he swallowed them dry, closing his locker he leaned against it, and waited for the dull ache in the back of his head to stop or at least lessen.

    Rae was ready for the first semester of senior year. She had done great for Junior year, but that was all thanks to Gwen and her wonderful ability to tutor. Rae had spent her break lounging by her parent’s pool and spending nights with Gwen and a few other girls down at the beach. It was relaxing and she was refreshed for the new semester. They graduated soon, and she was anticipating college. She wanted to be a history major.

    She walked down the hall way, rolling her eyes at a clearly hung over Christian as she passed by, her locker next to Gwen’s only a few down from his own. She hadn’t seen her best friend all morning and was wondering where she was. She unlocked her locker and dug through her backpack for her binder and pencils. Her first class was with Gwen,
    Christian and his best friend Jase. Rae groaned at the thought of Jase. She had seen him at the beach, hooking up with other girls, laughing and drinking. She wouldn’t admit it, but it had made her slightly jealous, nothing he needed to know of course.

    Rae shook her head and shoved her backpack into her locker, checking her small mirror she had attached to the locker door, running her fingers through her loose hair. It was senior year, a brand new start. She hoped she could steer clear of any trouble. She slammed her locker closed and leaned against it, she'd wait for Gwen.

    Gwen yawned as she woke up, pulling her glasses on over her eyes and pushing them up on the bridge of her nose. She stretched before getting up and brushing her hair and putting it into a lazy bun at the top of her had. She pulled on her outfit before heading out. She grabbed her apple on the way out eating it as she hurried towards the school. She finished and dropped her apple core in the trash can before moving past everyone. She stood really short at a good 5'1. She yawned for a moment before going towards her locker. She passed Christian really hoping he didn't say anything to her. She got to her locker and sighed in relief before catching Rae staring at Jase. She snapped her finger in her face and laughed. Her body was quite tanned from the time she had spent on the beach with Rae. She smiled knowing they had seen a lot of Christian and Jase over the summer because they had been at the beach as well.

    Gwen shook her head before saying, "You're quite hopeless." She teased her with a grin before getting her AP books out of her locker. They all had first period together and the other ones she didn't think she had with all of them. She forgot though. She yawned before looking in the mirror and fixing her eyeliner real fast before shutting her locker. Her shirt showed just a little bit of her stomach and Gwen couldn't of cared less at that moment. She was just glad she had made it to school on time. She had a bad habit of waking up late and making it to school just as the bell rang. She normally didn't care, but with it being Senior year, she knew she had to get to school earlier this year. She smiled chatting with Rae for a few minutes before starting to walk to class. She picked a seat in the middle of the class.

    Gwen didn't mind sitting in the front but Rae did, so she normally sat in the middle to make it easier on her. Sighing, Gwen pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose once more getting tired of having to do that. Normally, it didn't bother her, but she had to get a new pair of glasses or maybe contacts, but she wanted to stick to her glasses, quite liking them. Her mother however wanted her to try contacts. She would accomodate her mother's wishes and try them and then more than likely switch back to glasses. She took out a book before turning around and smiling at Rae. "Sorry, I was trying to tame my hair this morning." She laughed.

    Jase yawned knowing Christian was going to have one hell of a fucking hangover. He was going to make his life hell just because he had rejected hanging out with him last night. He smirked as he parked his caddy in the parking lot. He grabbed his bag before heading inside sure enough finding Christian trying to work his way through the crowd with his sunglasses on. Jase wore a white shirt that showed off his tattoos and just a pair of jeans and sneaker. He came up next to him before patting him on the shoulder and saying pretty loudly, "Hey Chris!! Wonderful morning!" He knew he was an asshole. He laughed. His summer had been pretty good. He had gotten a bunch of girls and flirted a lot, secrelty just trying to piss Rae off.

    He glanced over and saw her look at him, and gave her a grin, "Yo Rae, looking hot!" He laughed knowing she would hate him later for that. He was pretty much a straightfoward guy and was easy going. No matter how many looks he got for his tattoos he didn't give a fuck. His nose ring glinted in the light, while his shaggy black hair swung down into his pretty eyes. He smirked at Christian before lowering his voice, "Just fucking with you. You drank too much didn't you?" He grinned shaking his hair before saying, "Here." He felt around in his pocket before giving him some medicine.

    "I figured you'd be pretty fucking hungover, so I got ya this." Jase laughed before handing him an orange juice. "It usually helps me with hangovers." He smirked. Looking around, he let his back lean against the locker behind him a large yawn taking over his features as he shook his head. He hadn't gotten much sleep last night but he had drank a monster before he had come to school. He'd probably pass the fuck out in second period. He didn't mind. He looked at Christian before seeing Gwen walk in and smirked at Christian before laughing like he always did when he saw him watching her. He couldn't help it. He slapped him on the back as a guesture of good will before starting to walk towards their first period with him.

    Christian had noticed the minute Gwen had walked in. On any normal day he would have followed behind her, asking some irritating question about how her night was. "Did you dream about me last night? Was it hot?" today though his head just hurt way to much. He'd make up for it when the pain died down. When he heard Jase he groaned. He was still pissed at his friend for ditching him the night before.

    "Dude,shut the fuck up." He held his hand up to Jase's face. He watched out of the corner of his eye, behind his glasses as Gwen and Rae talked. Rae was hopeless, her and Jase should just hurry up and fuck already. The tension was annoying.

    When Jase yelled again Christian hit his arm "Hangover, Assshole!" He pointed to his head and pushed off the lockers.

    Christian snatched the orange juice from Jase and sipped at it angrily as they walked to class. He needed a nap, when he got to the room he slid into his chair at the back. He was in the row catty-corner to Gwen, it made it easier for him to stare at her. He was a creep, but she wasn't answering to any of his normal advances, and it was ticking him off.

    He rolled the sleeves of his button down shirt up to his elbows and laid his head on his hands. He had pushed the sunglasses up to his head and was watching Gwen. She was way out of his league. She was smart and gorgeous, and way too sweet. The pain in his head was dulling, and he was starting to see clearer.

    "Psst, Gwen." He whispered across the room, his head still resting on his hand. He waited for her to turn.
    ~~~~~
    Rae sighed in frustration at Gwen's words. "He's such a dick." She was still glancing at him. She heard Gwens excuse for being late and only nodded, smiling halfheartedly at her friend. When Jase called to her Rae glared and threw him the middle finger before following Gwen to class. She held her skirt against her thighs as she slid into a seat in the back. Rae rested her head against the wall of the classroom and waited for the teacher.
    She shook her head as she watched Christian try and get Gwens attention. If anyone was hopeless it was him. Gwen was way to good for him, he was an asshole who drank to much. Gwen was going places. Rae tapped her pen on the paper in front of her. She was anxious all the time. She hated sitting for long hours, and was often caught shaking her leg in anticipation to leave.
    She watched Jase enter the room and rolled her eyes, sticking her foot out for him to trip over as he walked by. She smirked and stuck her tongue out at him. It's what he got for calling her out in the hallway. A back and forth game they played every day. One of them would screw with the other and the he or she retaliated. It was an endless game they had been playing since freshman year.
    Gwen smiled at Rae and laughed and said, "Yeah but he's yours and the whole school knows it, Rae."She singsonged the words with a small smile on her face only teasing but she was serious about it. She figured those two would go out one day and then that'd be it. They'd be perfect for each other if only they admitted it. She smiled sitting in class and saw that the board said they only had to write a paragraph about themselves. She sighed shaking her head.
    Gwen couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up when Rae tripped Jase. She held her hand over her mouth shaking her head. She sighed and said, "Why do you two do this every day?" She asked with an amused smile on her lips. She grinned before turning back to face the board. She smiled to herself. She hummed gently letting her legs rest on the chair in front of her knowing no one wanted to sit in front of her because she would always ask them to move so she could see the board.
    Gwen finished her about me paragraph before turning it in. She went back to her seat sitting down gently, before putting her binder and her pens away into her white backpack. She sighed now bored that she didn't have anything else to do. She heard someone say her name and sighed before turning around to look at Christian. He tried too hard, he really did and she had told him she wasn't allowed to date before. Her dad was pretty strict on that rule. Until she graduated she could not date. She raised an eyebrow waiting to see what he wanted.
    Gwen couldn't the thought that he didn't look too bad today, but she was sure that was just because he could actually find clean clothing. He wore a plaid shirt and some jeans along with sunglasses. She then whispered, "Nice hangover." She smiled before waiting for what he was going to say. She didn't want to be mean, she never did like being mean. She shook her head gently before hearing someone else call her. She turned her head seeing another boy trying to get her attention. She raised an eyebrow in confusion as he tried to pass her a note. She glanced at Rae concerned. The poor kid looked like a sophomore and was blushing hardcore. She hoped Christian didn't see, knowing it'd be bad for the kid.
    Jase saw her flip him off and blew her a kiss with a grin. He turned back to Christian and laughed and said, "I know dude, that was the point and I'm not yelling anymore." He told him smirking. He noticed him looking at Gwen and rolled his eyes, "Dude how many years has it been now?" He asked him sighing shaking his head. His boy needed to move on. It was obvious she didn't want him, or at least the excuse she gave was her parents and from what he had heard from Rae they were pretty damn strict.
    Jase laughed as Christian hit his arm and said, "Ouch." He smirked when he snatched the orange juice. "A thank you would be cool too." He muttered under his breath. He sighed before getting some water from the fountain. He let Christian chill out before he followed. He didn't even think to look at his feet. He stumbled a bit seeing Rae smirking and her tongue out. He smirked before leaning down and whispering, "I'm so gonna get you for that." He grinned before sitting down beside Christian. He flung paper at her from the back knowing she was going to get pissed soon.
    He didn't mind. It made it more enjoyable for both of them if they got pissed. He was pretty interested at the fact that she was tapping her pen on her paper. He laughed gently before stretching setting his head on his desk. He opened his eyes to hear Christian calling Gwen. He snickered into his desk knowing he was going to get hit. He blinked when Gwen actually turned around and then saw her turn back around and saw a kid handing her a note. He bumped Christian's arm gently before nodding his head at the kid, knowing he had just fucked up. He sat back and let his hands fold behind his head as he waited for the show. He always enjoyed Christian getting really defensive with Gwen. It was the funniest shit ever. He smirked.
    Christian had seen the assignment on the board when he had walked in. He wasn't going to do it, it was an idiotic assignment for freshman. He could think of a thousand better things to write about than an "about me".He had heard her question Jase and Rae and he wondered the same thing.
    "You guys should really just get it over with already." He spoke to them. It was inevitable, at some point they'd end up together. He could only hope for the same when it came to Gwen.Christian had been trying to get Gwen to date him since freshman year. He'd tried everything. He'd tried hitting on her, he'd tried trying to make her jealous with other girls (he had assumed she'd get just as upset as Rae did with Jase.) She had shown no interest. He wasn't sure he believed her story about her strict parents. Jase had heard from Rae that it was true.
    When she turned around for him and noticed his hang over her growled and glared at her. "I'm not hungover." He mumbled towards her. "I wanted to know...." She had turned away from him, Christian was in disbelief, she had ignored him completely. When he felt the bump to his arm and followed the nod that Jase gave him, Christian only got pissed off.
    "What the fuck is this little shit trying to do?" He whispered to Jase. Everyone in the school knew that Gwen was his, even if she didn't. Up until this point no one had many any other advances after that incident sophomore year when Christian beat the shit out of Adam Lockner for asking Gwen out on a date. All he had to do was look at Adam now and the boy flinched.
    Christian stood from his seat and stalked over to the boy as he passed the note, Christian snatched it before Gwen could take it and stood over the younger boy. "Fuck off..." It was a warning. He'd take pity on this pore defenseless soul, he obviously hadn't gotten the memo that the rest of the school had.
    ~~~~~~~~
    Rae smirked "I'm looking forward to it." She had snorted out loud when Jase had stumbled,when he had whispered in her ear her heart had stopped for just a moment. But, when the paper balls began to hit her back she grew irritated. She turned and reached over her seat to try and smack at him .

    "Fucking stop!" She hissed from between her teeth, she was leaning far over trying to stop him from balling up more paper. She reached down to the floor, picking up some of the paper that had fallen she began throwing it back at him.

    "You..are....such...a...dick." She said in between throws. She stopped when she noticed everyone staring at Gwen, and sighed.

    "Oh god..." Rae shook her head and silently prayed for the younger boy who had just committed treason against Christian. She slid back into her chair and crossed her arms to watch the horror unfold.

    When he stood over the boy and spoke to him she rolled her eyes "Christian, sit down and stop being an asshole." Rae whispered. "You're going to get into trouble." Christian only glared at her, she didn't falter with her own stare. She wasn't afraid of Christian.

    She wasn't sure how, but the teacher had managed to all but ignore everything that went on. Possibly because he had his nose stuck in some book, his feet on the desk, reclined in his own chair. She shook her head, this was going to be a long year.

    Gwen raised an eyebrow at his glare and said, "Don't growl at me just because I said the truth. That's rude!" She exclaimed frowning at him disappointed that he had growled at her. She heard his question and felt bad that she had looked over when her name was called. She heard Christian get up and sighed shaking her head. She tried to get the note but Christian managed to snatch it. "That's not yours!" She standing up, not even coming up to his chin. She glared up at him.

    Gwen held her hand out expectantly her other hand on her hip. She didn't appreciate him scaring away everyone. "I can handle myself, thank you Christian." She said cooly her green eyes staring up into his brown ones. She waited for him to hand her her paper back. She sighed shaking her head and said, "Don't do this today, Christian. It's the first day of school and he's a sophomore." She sighed shaking her head. She looked at the kid apologetically.

    Gwen glanced at Christian choosing her words carefully, "Even if I was interested, i'm a senior." She told him gently knowing the disappointed look on his face said it all. She turned to Christian her skirt flapping from the wind of her spinning to look at him. "Note." She said holding her hand out. When she finally got it she sighed and said, "Be nicer." She shook her head before crossing her arms over her chest and throwing the note away. She came back and said, "What did you want Christian?" She raised an eyebrow and saw him glare at Rae she sighed sitting down not even wanting to do this at the moment. She didn't understand him sometimes.

    Gwen wasn't even quite sure why he liked her to be honest. They were so different and all last year he only dated the skanks and all of the girls that had tattoos and such and looked like the would beat someone up for just looking at them wrong. Gwen wasn't any of that. She sighed knowing this might be the very year he stands underneath her window and blasts a love song from her terrace. She would actually film that just because he would be cute. She smiled to herself gently. She shook it away before glancing back up at him knowing he might sit down beside her.
    Jase snickered knowing he had an affect on her. Wish she would just admit it though. That would make it easier. Far easier than doing this every fucking day. He heard Christian and shot him his own glare and said, "Mind your own business." He grinned though knowing the both of them were pretty much fucked and wrapped around the girls' fingers. He hated it most of the time feeling as if he would do anything for her.

    He grinned once more his white teeth glistening in the light. He laughed when she threw it back as she got aggravated. He laughed and said, "You're not wrong." He commented when she called him a dick. He loved irritating her. It was so funny to watch her try and retaliate. She just didn't retaliate as he hoped usually. He smirked and sighed looking over at Gwen and Christian.

    Jase grimaced knowing this was when Christian got up. He sighed when he commented to him and said, "Maybe he's new here, dude." He laughed when he got up and went over and shook his head. He smiled when he told the kid to fuck off and then heard Rae and blinked when Gwen told him to hand the note over.

    Jase sighed watching, he knew Gwen was the only one in the entire school that could make him behave and even then he still wasn't that good at following the rules. He had a knack for just making anyone give him what he wanted. Jase didn't understand how. He didn't say anything as he glared at Rae. He knew better. He gave an apologetic look towards her before sighing.

    This was going to be quite a long year from the looks of it. It didn't help that Gwen was no longer just the cute geeky kid. She had grown up from her baby face and her little glasses. He shook his head yawning. He knew from the moment she had turned Christian down that Christian would want her, just for the sole fact that she had said no, and then it turned into Christian adoring her and then she just kept saying no. He wondered what her dad was like if he was so strict.

    He rolled his eyes as Jase told him to mind his own business. “Well isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black.” Jase almost never stayed out of other people’s business. His best friend was as nosey as they came, and he knew way too much about people. He could gauge how someone would react to a situation before it even happened, and it was slightly eerie. He often used it to his advantage when it came to Rae. A girl with a temper, someone who couldn’t control her own emotions. Though she seemed to be doing pretty well at denying the way she felt about Jase.

    Christian felt slightly guilty for his growl. It wasn’t intentional and had come out on its own. He knew he was hungover, did she have to point it out? The boy he now stood over was cowering, Christian felt a slight sense of pride. He was scared? Good, he should be.

    Christian had dated plenty of girls, none for any other reason other than to get the attention of the small girl standing up to him now. They were all the same, tattooed and short skirted. Not what he wanted. No what he wanted was the short girl with glasses and a beautiful smile. Granted it was never aimed at him, but he could still admire it from afar.

    Christian looked down at Gwen as she spoke to him with a tinge of annoyance. He smirked down at her and patted her head. “Sophomore or not Gwen…” He leaned in close to her ear, his breath just inches away. “He has to know you’re mine.” Christian slid the paper into her palm and kissed her cheek.

    He stood up straight and coughed “I wanted to know if you could help me with physics this year?” Not that Christian gave two shits about physics, but he was going to need it to graduate and he sucked at anything that had to do with calculating any sort of math. He slid into the empty seat in front of her, turning around he rested his arms on the back of the chair as he waited for her response.
    ~~~~
    Rae scoffed at Jase, he was entirely too arrogant. For good reason, he was absolutely gorgeous. She was still seething from witnessing him at the beach with all those girls. Half of them didn’t even go to their school, and she was sure some of them were way too old for him. Rae looked down at her skirt, smoothing out the wrinkles. He had probably done it on purpose. She had caught him watching her a few times when they were at the beach. It only pissed her off more. She’d need to get him back big time this year, he couldn’t get away with acting that way.
    Rae turned in her seat to a boy they all had gone to school with since elementary school. He was absolutely in love with Rae, he wasn’t too bad looking either. He wasn’t her type, she wasn’t into the blonde hair blue eyed guy. But he was perfect for her plan. “Hey Luke, I was thinking of going out this weekend, did you want to come with?” He had looked over at her immediately at hearing his name. Luke looked from Rae to Jase and then back to Rae again and nodded. He was slightly flush as he talked with Rae, and was well aware of how close Jase was. But he had never laid claim over Rae like Christian had to Gwen.
    “Yea, I’m down.” He was smirking at Jase, and Rae flashed Luke a bright smile before turning in her seat .
    “Great, I’m excited.” She ignored Jase for the rest of the class, and when the bell rang she stood up to gather her stuff. She was slightly shaking from speaking with Luke with Jase right next to her. But she was sticking to her plan. He needed to know how she had felt over the summer. With her back turned to Jase she leaned against the desk and waited for Gwen to pack up. She was unsure of who she had classes with next.
    Gwen looked up at him her eyes in a type of frown as she looked up at him. She felt him pat her hand and grabbed his hand before he had patted her twice and said, "Do not pat me like a dog. I'm not your dog." She hissed unable to control the anger she suddenly felt. She dropped his hand the singe of hot from his warm hand on her freezing one made her bite her lip. She listened to him before feeling him lean down close to her. She sighed shaking her head. She felt him give her the paper before kissing her cheek. Her cheeks flushed in irritation as she shook her head once more.
    Gwen sat down grumbling gently before looking at the note. She sighed before throwing it away tearing it up first so Christian wouldn't get it out of the trash and read it. She really wanted to tell the kid yes just to make Christian angry, but knew even if she wanted to she couldn't. She sighed before shaking her head rubbing at her neck feeling like she was in a kind of war zone here between everyone. She hated it at times but knew it wasn't a good thing to hate something. She pushed her glasses up on the bridge of her nose onc more before turning her eyes to him her green eyes electrifying at that moment.
    Gwen said, "Well, i'm not yours and that's what everyone knows." She said it loudly so the kid kind of just hid his face a goofy smile on his face from this. She sighed hearing him ask her a question. She nodded wearily and said, "Depends. Would you actually study if I'm there?" She questioned letting her head lean on her hand as she looked up at him, the glare from the glasses making her eyes appear brighter than they actually were. Her eyes were a kind of dark jade color along with small whisps of gold intertwined from the pupil. "I have physics next actually, granted I've already taken the calss. I'm supposed to be in AP physics, but they had too many people." She pouted gently sighing.
    Gwen heard Rae and turned around wide eyed hearing her ask Luke out. She turned back around to Christian mouthing, "What is she doing?" She bit her lip carefully, knowing better than to look over at Jase. She knew this wasn't going to end well at all. She shook her head gently and whispered, "If either of them ask us to do something, we both agree to keep out of it." She looked back once more seeing Luke smirking at Jase and said, "Oh, dear." She knew what was going to happen before she even heard the shuffle of steps.
    Jase laughed seeing her scoff and grinned gently. He yawned. He had been purposely trying to get her jealous, granted she had never shown him he feelings and it pissed him off. He just kept doing it after that to piss ehr off. When she left, he would always tell the girls he wasn't interested. Christian was the only one who knew that. He yawned for a moment before stretching his back cracking. He turned his neck to the side cracking it and then to the other yawning. While, he wasn't the big bad boy that Christian was, he was the easygoing one, it wasn't in anyone benefit to piss him off.
    Jase heard Rae say Luke's name and looked up almost immediately his eyes narrowing suddenly. His brown eyes glared holes at her as he watched what she was doing. He heard her and sucked in a deep breath his eyes going into slits. The fucking asshole better now even fucking dare to say yes. Jase sat up gently, leaning forward to look Luke dead in the eyes. He shook his head at him before he answered. When he did, Jase sat back mouthing to the fucker, You're Dead. He meant it too.
    Jase wasn't going to start a commotion in class, but knew full well he had Luke in his next period and it just so happened to be PE. He glared holes through him. He sat back before looking out the window his good mood having evaporated. He heard the bell ring and walked right past Rae not even giving her a second look. He didn't even stop to look at Christian. He went straight to gym before dropping his shit down and sitting down in the bleachers. He needed a smoke. He cut class for about 15 minutes to go smoke a cigarette in the restroom. He knew it was a bad habit, but when he got pissed he needed one. He went back to class before knowing exactly where he was going after school. He was going to go to the gym where he practiced boxing.
    Christian was only slightly surprised at her reaction to being patted on the head. She reminded him of a Chihuahua, small but mighty. He smirked to himself at the thought. She’d kill him if she heard that. Her skin was so soft, he closed his eyes for a brief moment to savor the feel. His calloused fingers from playing hours of guitar, felt drastically different from the smooth skin of her hand. This girl had been playing with his emotions since she had first turned him down. It was slowly killing him, he could feel it in his heart. His cocky disposition was breaking at the seems every time she denied him.
    He snorted, she thought ripping up the paper would stop him from reading it? Cute. This was senior year, he was losing time. His intentions had evolved from simply just trying to attain something he couldn’t have, to genuinely being interested and wanting to be Gwen’s, and having Gwen be his. Somewhere along the line Christian had caught feelings, and he was still trying to figure them out. All he knew was that he was becoming desperate.
    Christian decided to ignore her words and instead guided his glare to the sophomore who was grinning.
    “Check yourself.” He pointed at the boy, who instantly dropped his smile and turned away. Christian turned back to Gwen and nodded, the top two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned and he rubbed the back of his tattooed neck as he answered,
    “Yea, I need to pass to graduate.” His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, he was fighting not to tell her he didn’t care about her AP struggles. Her pout was adorable though, and he was forcing himself to not stare directly into her golden eyes. His were a boring caramel color, hers were bright.
    Sitting up straight, Christian looked over Gwens head. “Jesus Christ, what is she doing?” If anyone had a temper it was Jase. His usually calm cool and collected friend was a whirl wind of anger when he was antagonized, and Rae had definitely antagonized. Christian shrugged his shoulders, and shook his head to answer Gwen.
    “No idea...” He was still watching the conversation between Luke and Rae and he could see Jase about to burst.
    “Agreed, they need to handle their own shit.” When the bell rang Christian stood, and pushed his glasses back down over his eyes.
    “So, you’ll help me? It’ll be a great way to stay out of their way.” He motioned with his thumb to Jase and Rae. He was reluctantly going to his next class. He had been given an ultimatum by his parents. “Graduate or get the fuck out.” Not that Christian planned on living home for long, but the idea of getting kicked out bothered him.
    Rae heard Jase walk past her and let a deep breath out. She had been holding it in since she first said Luke’s name. The blonde was waiting for her at the door, she smiled and waved for him to go onto his next class. When he left she threw her head back in frustration.
    All Jase had to do was not be an asshole and just make the first move. She kicked the leg of her desk and groaned. She hadn’t expected him to get as angry as he did, she could practically feel him glaring a hole in her back when she was asking Luke to hang out. They had been playing this childish game for too long, but neither of them wanted to admit it to the other. She was getting irritated. This was their last year of high school, if something didn’t happen soon, they’d be lost. It saddened her, but she couldn’t work up the courage to tell Jase. He had countless women and girls lining up to be with him, what made her so special?
    She needed her own cigarette, she decided to leave Gwen. Rae pushed off of her desk and stalked out of the classroom. She made her way down the hallway,knocking into other students violently, ignoring there complaints. When she got to her locker she began shuffling through it for her pack of cigarettes. When she found them she slammed the door closed and made her way out of the school and around to a hidden spot. She leaned against the brick wall and lit her cigarette, blowing the sweet release into the air, closing her eyes and resting her head back.
    “He deserved it…” She whispered to herself as she raised the cigarette to her lips once more. No one knew she smoked, not even Gwen. She could just hear the parental like nagging she’d get if Gwen found out. She dropped the cigarette to the ground and snuffed it out with her boot. She looked to the sky , it looked like rain. Maybe she’d skip her next class, and just sit outside and enjoy the rain. She heard the thunder rolling in the distance, and dragged her back down the wall till she sat on the ground, her legs in front of her.
    Rae contemplated lighting another cigarette, but decided not too. Instead she sat under her hidden spot and watched the rain clouds roll in. She could hardly imagine the shit storm that was heading for Luke.
    Luke had known exactly what he was doing. He hated Jase and Christian with a very deep rooted passion. They were both arrogant and for no good reason, and extremely loud. Gwen had never caught his attention like the spit fire that Rae was. He had been trying to get Rae to go out with him since eighth grade. He had almost gotten there too, till Rae recognized Jase.
    Luke knew Rae was using him to retaliate against Jase for some unknown reason, and honestly he didn't really care. Any chance to piss off Jase was a moment he would savor. So he'd hang out with Rae, if only to get under the other kids skin. He made his way down to the gym, his bag thrown over his shoulder. He kicked the gym doors open and waved to his own group of friends as he made his way over. He looked around, no Jase in sight. Luke shrugged.
    Gwen saw from his eyes that he was surprised at her anger. She didn't care what anyone thought, she wasn't some pet and she didn't really appreciate being patted on the head like some trained animal. She wasn't an animal and would never be. She had noticed his hands had been calloused. She wanted to know what from, but was a little bit scared to ask. She knew he played guitar, but it couldn't be from that? Whenever she saw him he was hanging with some other girl. She raised an eyebrow seeing him snort before getting the paper from the trash can and then putting it into her pocket. "Fine." She told him with a raised an eyebrow. She sighed before seeing him tell the kid to check himself. "Oh leave him alone. You were just like that Freshman year." She told him distractedly as she reached into her backpack to pull her book out. She pushed her glasses up once more before hearing him saying he needed it to graduate. "Alright. When? It has to be at my house because of my dad, though." She told him with a sigh while she brushed her hair out of her face. "When do you have physics?" She tilted her head to the side. She looked back hearing him ask what he was doing. She shook her head and whispered, "She's playing the game and it seems to me that she's the one losing." She sighed before turning back to Christian seeing he wasn't all that worried. "Not going to help Luke?" She questioned, already knowing the question. She sighed before muttered, "You know they aren't going to listen to anything we say anyways."
    Gwen stood up, pushing her backpack up over her shoulder. She pondered the question before nodding reluctantly. "Here." She wrote her number down for him, having taken great care not to let him get her number. She hadn't even allowed Jase to get a hold of her number knowing he'd just give it to Christian. She put it into his hand gently. She then hurried to her class not wanting to look at his caramel eyes anymore. Sighing, she sat down in her physics class and looked at the board. She didn't know if Rae had anymore classes with her. After this class, she had her AP Calculus class and knew she didn't need any distractions in that. She yawned for a moment before pushing whisps of hair away from her face. Her hair was this nice mousy color that reminded you of a wooden table. She looked up hearing her name and saw the teacher and gave a gentle smile. Hearing her question why she was in this clas again, she explained her schedule issues. She then returned to her book, humming as she did so.
    Jase was upset. Why did she have to do shit like that? He was one hundred percent sure she did that fucking shit on purpose. He finished up his cigarette before blowing the smoke out of his nose. He watched the pitter patter of the rain before going inside to the gym. He sat down on the bleachers, his hands in his pockets. He then stood up his eyes only on Luke. He walked over before saying, "I need to talk to you." He told him motioning with his head to walk away from his group of friends. He knew this would get messy. He also knew none of his friends had a chance against him unless they were pussies and ganged up on him. He then pulled him aside and said, "You better fucking cancel dude. I'm not even joking. I'll fucking hurt you." He told him. The look on his face showed he wasn't kidding. He glared down at him, being at least four inches taller than the blonde male. Jase was pretty fit and was also taller than most. He was a good six foot five. He didn't care what anyone thought anymore about him.
    Jase knew for a fact the kid hated him just because Rae enjoyed his company more than she did his. He glared down at him for awhile before laughing hearing his response. "You're going to fucking regret that. Meet me at Marco's gym. See what fucking happens. If you don't show up you're the biggest pussy." He backed up before walking back over to his shit and grabbed his back pushing the doors open and walking out. He needed to chill. He could feel his blood pressure fucking rising from the fact that he was so angry. He shook his head before slamming the door open to the back of the building. He saw Rae before shaking his head in disgust. He walked past her without saying a word. He had a look in his eye that said he was out for blood. He knew he didn't normally get angry but when he did, it was bad. He walked to his car before throwing his shit into the car, not caring that he was ditching the first day of school. Running a hand through his hair, he hit his car, putting a large dent into it. He sighed looking down at his bruised knuckles. He then shook his head once more before running a hand throughout his black hair once more. He knew his tattoos made most people afraid of him, but not Rae. Rae had never seemed scared of him. He growled knowing everyone should probably be afraid of him. He acted stable, but he felt as if he were the least stable out of anyone he'd ever met. He got into his car before setting his head on his steering wheel.
    Christian had wiped his hands of the Jase and Rae issue a long time ago. They’d have to handle their shit themselves. He had his own problems to worry about. He had even threatened to punch Jase in the nose once because he wouldn’t shut the fuck up about Rae, and how she had gone to some concert alone. The boy was ridiculous, he couldn’t understand why he hadn’t just claimed Rae and gotten it over with. Maybe they liked the fighting? This wasn’t the first time that one or the other had done something to completely piss off the other, and it probably wouldn’t be the last. Even if they ended up together. They were both to tenacious. They had the ability to be a great relationship, he knew they’d have each other’s back, but when they fought the world shook. It could potentially be toxic or extremely passionate.
    He heard the word, “dad” and tensed up. He wasn’t good with parents. They took one look at his tattoos and instantly despised him. He had had only one good meeting and that was with Jase’s parents, who incidentally didn’t seem to care what their son did with his life. He began rubbing at the back of his neck again, a nervous habit. “Uh, Fridays after school alright? I have physics for third period.” It was right before lunch, which was going to make paying attention in class even more difficult.
    “No, they’re both losing.” Christian looked at Gwen with mock annoyance when she asked about helping Luke.
    “Nah, the kid has it coming. He knew what he was doing, they don’t listen to anyone Gwen, not even themselves.” Christian looked out of the window.
    “Looks like rain.” The clouds had darkened and thunder could be heard rolling closer. When Gwen handed him her number, Christian felt like he had just surpassed a giant feat. He had been trying to get her number for what seems like ever. He had even tried to get Rae to give it to him at one point. That hadn’t gone well, he had almost gotten kicked in the shins. Rae and Gwen were similar in that regards, tiny and fierce. It was just another reason he like Gwen so much. She wasn’t just sweet, she was willful. She wouldn’t be pushed around, not even by him. It was refreshing.
    Christian had walked to his next class in a slightly better mood. It was the most civil conversation he had had with Gwen, even if it was short. He had gotten her number, and he felt accomplished. His next class was History, he could feel himself throwing up on the inside. If there was a subject other than math that he hated it was History. He found himself a seat in the back, he didn’t have anyone worth talking to in the class with him. All he could do was try his best to keep his eyes open and on the board as the teach spoke. He couldn’t help the buzzing in his stomach. He was already thinking of things to say to Gwen when they talked next. When was lunch?
    Luke had agreed to Jases ultimatum. Like hell he was a pussy. Jase may have been taller, but Luke was on the football team. He could take him. Though he lacked the support from his friends who had told him it was a bad idea to have said yes to Rae to begin with. Who the fuck cares? Jase wasn’t her boyfriend, Rae could hang out with him if she wanted. When the other boy had stormed out Luke had returned to his group of friends. The day was going to be a long one.
    Rae watched Jase storm by. The fact that he was as pissed as he was only served to anger her more. Like he had any right to be upset about anything. He had all but done the exact same thing to her over the summer and past school years. Rae was over his tantrums. He was a large child. She stood up from her spot on the ground and ignored the rain as it seemed to get heavier she made her way to Jase’s car.
    Jase wasn’t scary to her. He was more of an undomesticated cat. Full of testosterone and not enough love. He was tatted and pierced, he was rough around the edges and soft in the middle. Sometimes he had her back, more often than not though something like this always happened. It was starting to tire her out. When Rae reached his car she knocked on his window with her knuckles and leaned against the door with her arms crossed. “Open up asshole.” Her voice was soft, she was over yelling. “You have nothing to be this mad about.” She turned so her back was against his car, and she was looking up at the sky, the raindrops were big, but it hadn’t started pouring yet.
    She ran her fingers over the dent he had made in his car and shook her head "Your poor car." She mumbled to herself. Her hair was coming loose from it's bun and starting to fall over her shoulders. "Ugh, it took me forever to get it up like this." She ran her fingers through her hair and pulled out the tie holding it up, letting it tumble down her shoulders.
    Gwen sighed hearing him before shaking her head before looking out the window as well. She frowned seeing the rain and bit her lip for a moment before nodding hearing him. "Alright." She gave a simple smile before going off and going to her class. She sat down and sighed as she started to do her work. After third block was their lunch. She didn't want to sit through these classes. She was already starting to get hungry. She sighed before looking up as she waited for the class to be over.
    Gwen stood up with the rest of the kids when the bell rang. She went to her third block dodging out of people's way in the hallway. She sat back down once more pushing her glasses up before texting her dad saying she was helping a friend of hers with physics on fridays after school. She saw the text back and bit her lip before sending back that the person needed the class to graduate and she had already passed the class. He grudgingly agreed. She smiled before sending him a heart knowing her dad wanted the best for her.
    Gwen yawned before staring out the window watching as the pitter patter of the rain continued. She eventually slipped her eyes closed and rested her head against her arms. The sound of the bell awakened her. She stood once more, bringing her white backpack up on her right shoulder and then grabbing her lunchbox and heading to the cafeteria. She yawned before stretching. She looked around for Rae or Jase or Christian, knowing they usually ate lunch together. She sat down at their usual table before taking her sandwich out.
    Gwen looked up as a shadow cast over her and she blinked seeing Jonathon and his buddies. She waved before seeing him sit down. She raised an eyebrow at him before saying, "Yes?" He grinned at her and said, "Hey Gwen." She sighed before wearily saying Hey before looking back down at her food. She didn't feel comfortable. She packed her stuff up before getting up. "You coming to the games? Gonna cheer me on?" He grinned. "No, I'm helping someone on Friday's." She said. "Who?" he frowned. "None of your business." She responded cooly. He shrugged before grinning, "What if I gave you my jersey to wear?" Gwen sighed, "No, Jonathon, I'm not interested, and it would look like i'm your girlfriend then." She told him shaking her head once more.
    Jonathon sighed and said, "C'mon Gwen!" He begged giving her a puppy eye dog look. Gwen shook her head and said, "Sorry." She turned before feeling his hand close around her wrist as she tried to walk away. She winced turning and looking at him. "Oh come on now Gwen! We both know we're perfect for each other. You could be my little cheer leader!" Gwen shook her head, "Let go you're hurting me!" She told him, frowning. She tried to pull free but it was no use. She winced once more, because it actually was hurting her. She was smaller compared to him nad she didn't want him touching her. She looked around for help wincing once more as he pulled her closer to him. "Stop!" She said.
    Jase smirked when he had said yes, boy was he in for a rough fucking surprise. Football wasn't going to save his dumbass from his wrath when he fought him at the gym. He knew better than to challenge him to a race or anything along those lines, but a simple fist fight? Shit, he had that in the bad and his friends knew it too because they had looked at him like he was nuts when he told him yeah.
    Jase heard Rae before turning over to her. He got out slamming the door and walked over to her, towering over her, but not in a manner than he meant to hurt her, just standing over her. His head dripped down from the rain and the drops fell onto her face. He then said, "I do have something to mad about." He told her. "I didn't pick girls you knew. I didn't pick a girl you hated with everything in you."
    He set his arms on either side of her as he got close to her face, "But you picked Luke.." He told her, hurt flashing in his eyes. He then shook his head, "Fine, i've got nothing to be mad about." He turned to leave not wanting her to see the hurt or the anger he felt at the moment. He thought she looked beautiful. He didn't like Rae because she was just spitfire. He liked her soft moments too, whenever she had them.
    Jase then sighed before saying, "You smell like cigarette smoke." He tossed her a bottle of cologne and said, "Better than smelling like cigarettes." He took one out, lighting it up before giving it to Rae and lighting his own. He took a drag before blowing smoke out. "He agreed to fist fight me." He told her casually. Christian would've told him to not break his nose at least. He knew Luke would get a few hits in, but nothing like what Jase would do to him if he was going to be serious. "Don't worry, I won't fuck his face up that badly. I'll take body shots." he told her before stomping the cigarette out and blowing the smoke out. "Are you coming with or are you gonna stay?" He asked her. Even if she was pissed at him and he at her, they were still best friends.
