Lily ran her fingers through her long red hair as she looked around the flat full of boxes. Honestly, she had no idea where to even start when it came to unpacking everything, there was just so much stuff it almost seemed impossible to get everything done even with magic. Though she did kind of refuse to use magic for most things, not because it wasn't helpful because it was. But because Lily would always be a muggle at heart and one of the many things she always cherished was the memories she made with her family and her muggle friends, she'd see them over the summers before leaving for Hogwarts, unpacking boxes. It was either helping someone move into a new house, helping her parents set up the Christmas tree or just helping someone redecorate. And all these things she'd done without magic. So even now as an adult who could actually do magic without getting into any trouble, as long of course as she used it properly and didn't use it in front of any muggles, didn't want to wave her wand to get things done when she was perfectly capable of doing it. Plus they'd all miss out on the memories.
"So where are we starting with this stuff?" Sirius asked as he walked into the flat with the last box of things the newlyweds owned. "And I hope to God you two don't have any more stuff because I feel like I've just spent half my life bringing in boxes," he told them knowing that wasn't true. They'd only been unpacking boxes for maybe like an hour or so. Which wasn't that bad, he assumed it wasn't that bad anyways. Really he'd never unpacked boxes before. Though really he'd never actually had enough stuff to really need boxes to pack it all into. When he'd moved in with James back in 6th year he'd kind of just showed up leaving the majority of his things at his parents home. He'd then, of course, had to buy all new things, and really he didn't accumulate that much more stuff before they'd graduated from Hogwarts and he and Emma moved in together. Which they'd bought what they needed usually as they needed it so there had never been too much to moving in for him. Which thinking about made him a little upset because there were things that he remembered having as a child that he would've loved to still have but it wasn't likely that he'd ever see that stuff again.

[ again I am so sorry this took me forever to get out! And I would've had it out sooner but well I just had a super long day! I didn't forget though which is what matters! Hope it was good!! tehe ]

Emma rolled her eyes as she followed behind Sirius, carrying a box labeled KITCHEN. "Oh, shut up, it wasn't that bad. We started at nine and it's nearly noon." She stuck her tongue out before heading in the direction of the kitchen, placing the box on the kitchen table. The petite brunette quickly threw her hair up in a ponytail, looking across the kitchen at her best friend. "I say we start in here and work our way out? Knowing James and how he eats, I feel like you'll be spending the most time in here." Emma looked out to where James and Sirius were currently going through boxes, a sigh leaving her lips. She and Sirius had moved in together pretty much right after they graduated from Hogwarts, leaving right from Kings Cross to pick up the keys for their flat. They'd been together for ages, so long so that their group of friends forgot how they'd gotten together. And as happy as Emma was for Lily and James, she was somewhat jealous. It seemed like serious would NEVER end up asking that one special question.

    --

"Come off it," James laughed, setting the box that he had been carrying down on the sofa. He had to admit that his friend was right, they did have a ton of stuff-- they had been showered with gifts from their friends and various family members. James felt like his family had overdone things, but they did so to try and help Lily forget the fact that her family didn't show up. Good riddance, thought James. He'd never heard of such a bunch of tossers in his life. "But then again, when you and Emma got that flat in Avex, you only had three boxes and a suitcase." James spoke in a teasing manner. He opened the box in front of him, which was filled with framed photographs of he and Lily with various friends throughout the years.

    (it's totally fine!!)

"That's three hours Emma," Sirius said rolling his eyes playfully. He knew it hadn't really been that difficult bringing in all the boxes and all, but he liked to play around with his friends. And he took full advantage of all chances he was given. "And those three boxes and suitcase had everything we needed at the time in them," Sirius said matter of factly. Though he supposed maybe Lily and James needed a lot more stuff because they'd gotten married or something. Honestly, he had no idea. As far as he knew he and Emma had everything they needed even now because when they needed something they went out and bought it. People hadn't really given them gifts. Of course, they did move in together right after Hogwarts, and he'd kind of been disowned from his family since he was 16 so not getting anything didn't come as much of a shock to him.
Lily agreed that it would be a good idea to start from the kitchen and work their way out. Not because she felt like she'd spend a lot more time in the kitchen than any other part of the house, but because they were already in the kitchen so it made sense. And honestly, right now all she wanted was to get things out of boxes and put away. She'd worry about organizing everything and making sure she actually liked where things were or that everything was set up in a way that made sense another time. After all, the sooner they got things out of boxes and put away the sooner the four of them could just sit back and relax. It also meant once Emma and Sirius left she and James could just enjoy one another's company rather than still be stressing out about unpacking boxes.

Emma nodded her head, opening the box in front of her to see what the contents were-- a bunch of pots and pans. "Where do you want these, Lil?" Emma called to her friend, nodding her head when Lily responded. She headed over to the designated cupboard and began to put the cookware away, humming a little song under her head. Emma could see why Lily liked to do this without magic, although it was a long process it was actually quite soothing. Plus it was entertaining to watch James try and drive the moving van without crashing. After about ten minutes or so, the cupboard was full and Emma moved onto the next box.

    --

James rolled his eyes and started to put the pictures on top of the mantle. "Plus, you got that pretty cool oven from Lily and I. Not that you can cook... but at least Emma knows how to use it." The fellow wizard teased, running a hand through his hair as he tried to fit the last few pictures on the mantle. He eventually finished and put the empty box by the door for recycling, trying to figure out what to unpack next.

Sirius rolled his eyes and flipped James the bird before going to open one of the many boxes labelled kitchen so he could start putting things away so they could get done sooner. Because as much as he loved helping his friends move in he was kind of ready to just hang out with them doing something magical. "For your information Prongs, I can cook some things. I mean I never claimed that I was a fancy cook but I know how to make some things," he said knowing that honestly, it was mostly Emma in the kitchen making sure they were both fed. However, in the last few years Sirius had figured out a lot and cooking, for the most part, was one of those things. And honestly what made him happiest about knowing he could cook certain things really well was the fact that he'd figured it out without help from his family.
"James you can't really cook either," Lily teased deciding she wanted to be a part of the conversation going on right now. It was true though James couldn't exactly cook. She didn't blame him for that though because it wasn't really his fault. His parents had just kind of pampered him his entire life and they'd had a house elf who did all of the cooking in their house. And it wasn't like Hogwarts taught classes on how to cook. So James had just never really learned. Lily knew how though because she lived a muggle life until eleven and even then she still lived a muggle life over the summer when she was away from Hogwarts. There had been no house elves in her home. She'd learned how to cook from her mother who she used to help in the kitchen whenever she got the chance. It kind of just went to show how much different their lives had been growing up.
