Moxie took what she needed and paid for the vegetables then moved onto the next table, which was meat, and eggs - there were other vendors but these were ones she trusted the most. She picked out what she needed for the week, one pound of beef in different types; half a pound ground and a quarter cubed the rest in the form of a steak. Half a pound of ground chicken, then two chicken breasts - this would last her well into next week if she portioned correctly. Of course she knew this luxury was nice, even if the meat wasn't super high quality it was better than most people could afford, and usually people her age were having kids but until she felt the air was cleaner she wouldn't have kids. "Thanks Molly, you always sell the best," she said as she loaded fourteen eggs into her reusable carton she'd made - it was easier than using the stuff they had, and it saved money as they were a dollar a piece. Once she finished her shopping she walked into the small restaurant and smiled, "Good afternoon, Riley!" she said and hugged the older man,"I'm here for those avocados you promised me," she smiled a little, "I know they were hard to get so I'm willing to pay a pretty penny for them,"
To say she was excited about them was an understatement - they were her favorite topping for every her toast in the morning - which she made herself because store bought bread was over four dollars, and she had the means to make her own for a lot cheaper. "Of course, I got six of them just for you at three dollars a piece it should be a steal,"
"That is a steal, are you sure about the price?" she asked him softly, not wanting to pay less than he paid for them, but he always looked after her; kind of like a father figure.
"I'm sure, Mox, just take'em for what I'm offering," he playfully scolded her and she handed him the money.
Moxie smile a little, excited to have fresh avocado instead of the already mashed stuff from the market, "If you need anything let me know, you know where to find me,"
Dane had been working at his desk for hours now, and he knew if he didn't move soon his legs were going to cramp up and even if that was the least of his worries he knew that his father would kill him if he spent all day behind the desk instead of checking on the prototypes like he'd promised. Despite living in one of the tallest buildings he found himself underwhelmed with where he was, he was privileged and he wasn't ignorant to that fact but he didn't really know what to compare this life to. He looked up and walked over to the girl who walked in, "You sure came in here a mess, hope you didn't get oil on the carpets - so these are the prototypes then?" he asked as he looked at them picking them up and nodding.
"They look good, how soon can you have them installed?" he asked.
