    Welcome to 2016’s NaNoWriMo thread!

For those not in the know, National Novel Writing Month is a month-long assault of writing, where participants are asked to attempt a rather mammoth task — write 50,000 words within the 30 days of November. Although the official rules state that this must be for a brand-new story that you start writing on the 1st November, rules are made to be broken and many people use the month to continue an already started story or to write multiple stories at the one time. In the end, as long as you reach the 50,000 word minimum, then you’re a winner. Hooray!

You can sign up for NaNoWriMo through their website. Once you’ve created an account (or signed in, for those of us who are NaNoWriMo regulars) then it’s as simple as creating your novel and waiting until November 1st arrives so you can begin writing! The NaNoWriMo website will give you regular pep talks, updates and also gives you a way of validating your word count so that when November 30th comes around, you can check if you’ve managed to hit the target.

Although there are forums on the NaNo website itself, we always have a thread here on Mibba where you can discuss, plan and panic alongside other Mibbians who are participating. You can use this thread to get help, to participate in any word sprints that other users may want to start up, and also to just chat with people when the writing gets too much. Don’t forget to leave a link to your NaNo profile and the story you’ll be writing so that other can check it out!

Hi all! I'm currently undecided as to what I'll be writing this year -- I've got a few stories that I'd like to focus on but I'm not sure whether I'll be focusing on them all, or just choosing one and finishing it completely. At the moment, the biggest contender is Purify, which doesn't actually have a layout or a proper summary and has just been sitting festering in my brain for months now. I'd love to get it started and fleshed out well, but I'm not known for being a planner, ha.

If anybody wants to add me on the NaNo site, I'm on there under Mischief Managed. tehe

I've tried to do NaNoWriMo for a couple of years now, but always had something that messed up my plans. This year I am going to try it, and I am set to win. I added you on the NaNo website. My story's title is going to be Suffocate. It's a plot I had for a while now, but never had the opportunity to write, since I wanted to do it for this particular event. The genres are mystery and crime. tehe

I've set up my nano novel, but I'm not sure yet whether I'm going to participate. Due to the lack of a computer, I'm kinda rusty when it comes to my writing andNano is a big thing to take on.

My profile is The Alpha's Angel if anyone wants to add me.

I always used to have issues because November was always when my winter coursework was due for university, but now I've graduated the only thing I have is my job, so hopefully I'm going to try and win this year! tehe

I love crime! What's your story going to be about? Cute

    @ TheDevilsHalo;
It is a massive thing, for sure. If you were to write for it, what would you be writing about? Cute

It's about a female FBI agent following leads on a serial killer who ends his victims' lives by suffocating them. Not only is the agent trying to catch him because is her job, but also because the killer made it personal by killing someone close to her.

    What do you think? tehe

In my case was that November is usually the time where I have a lot of work to do, but this year I am taking things easy, since I am going to turn in my resignation to finish in December. I am moving to Arizona in January, so I don't need to have so much pressure at work like I used to. Mr. Green

It sounds interesting! tehe So she'd have double the motivation with it being part of her job and also partially a personal matter. I love stories like that, because you always see more of the true nature of a character when they're fighting for a loved one. XD

Ah, that's good then! My work have just given me an additional responsibility that actually launches in November so maybe it isn't the best idea, but either way I'm still determined. I've had my story idea sitting for way too long, it needs to be nurtured!

    @ Khloe Kardash
No problem! I'll add your deets to the first post just now. tehe

I really want to write a decent Teen Wolf story that's a little different. My idea is in my head, so even if I don't do nano, it'll be something that I will work on once I'm back on Mibba properly :)

Hello guys tehe I've done NaNo every year since 2011 and I've only gotten close to winning once. I'm not sure how well I'll do this year because of school, but I'm going to give it a go anyways, I think.

My NaNo profile is losing control. and I think I'm gong to focus my attention on Real. I have the direction of the story mostly planned out, but I want to try and plan out all of the little details so I know how I want everything to go.

Last year I attempted to write a sci-fi story and it didn't end well, so I think sticking to romance and drama with just a hint of scifi-ish stuff will be much better lmfao

So I'm going to be writing an original fiction. The page is: In Love With You

The main character is bisexual, and seventeen years old. He has sex with an older guy, and doesn't wear a condom. The guy leaves his ass, and then starts to date his best friend that's a girl.

Hello! I've written for NaNoWriMo once in 2013, and didn't get over halfway. So this year I'm really gonna try!

I have no story yet, but I'm currently planning one. I'll update when I make a story page. Hopefully I can do it this year!

I'm sheepcat; (throwback haha) over on NaNo, and hopefully I'll have enough time around exams to participate!
I have no idea what I'm writing, but I'm sure I'll think of something. I'd really like to win this year.

Hi, hello, ciao and all that groovy stuff~ I've participated in NaNo the past...five years? Though I never make much progress with the stories I choose to write because for two years in a row, I wrote the same story because there's always plot holes and it's a disaster but I never work on it after November. lmfao And chances are, I'm going to rewrite last year's story this year. I also want to focus on another version of Like This, You Keep Them Alive but that won't meet 50k words at all and I hate trying to focus on more than on story during NaNo so I don't know if I'm going to try to write any of that. Annnd I'm ranting again. Facepalm

I am elegance but I swear, I've added like half of Mibba over the years. ~~

Hey guys, you've all inspired me to go out and tackle this NaNo again. Last time was in 2012, which is 4 years ago and I don't believe my writing has much improved since than. Anyway, I still have to figure out what I want to do and with who, my main characters always seem to fall a bit flat.

You can find me here: leonie and I'll see you on the flip side. I hope, if I don't drown.

Though I've attempted nano in the past, this is the first year where I have most of November free (as far as I'm aware) so if I get my ass into gear, I should be able to reach 50k. I contemplated focusing on one story but because I get bored of writing only one story, I'm going to focus on two and hope that I reach my goal that way. The stories I will be focusing on are:
    - Alice's Coffee Shop (teen romance comedy drama)
    - The Fuckers (teen drama comedy lil bit of romance)

Pretty confident I can reach over 25k with TF, but with Alice's Coffee Shop I'm not too sure. I don't envision that story to be long (30+ chapters) but we'll see how it goes? Totally going to be writing a nano log sometime soon.

OH AND ALSO kinda wanna write a new story and just go HAM but I really shouldn't but I really wanna Facepalm

Hey, everyone! I've participated in NaNo since 2012. I think I get a bit better as the years go. 2012 I finished with just over 54,000 words, and 2015 I finished with just over 67,000 words. OMFG I mostly just write and then toward the end of November I submit whatever I have and hope that it meets the 50,000 word mark. I've gotten lucky thus far, so here's hoping this year goes the same!

I haven't quite finished the story page of my NaNo novel, so when I do, I'll come back and link it for whoever is interested. Cute

I'm miss zombie. over on NaNo, and I've probably added half of my Mibba friends there already but feel free to add me if I haven't!

My first time participating was last year, I didn't even get close to the goal due to the very little time I had and just lack of interest in the story I was writing. I can't quite recall my word count, but I really want to participate again this year since I have much more free time.

I haven't decided on whether rebooting my old NaNo story or start a brand new one, I'm undecided at the moment.

I'm over at gravel soul in case you wanna be my friend over there.
