Camilla ran through the castle looking for her sister. She stopped looking out the window to the maze. "Of course." She said realizing her sister would be smart enough to be at the center. It was her last few hours in the castle before she would be shipped off to some prince. Camilla lifted her dress up as she ran out the castle doors and into the maze carefully navigating the twists and turns of the maze. Camilla burst from the maze into the center were the lovely garden and pond lay. She looked around seeing her sister sitting beneath a tree on the bench. Camilla walked over and sat beside her sister tossing herself into Charlotte's arms. Charlotte had always been her comfort in times like these and now she feared without her sister she would not make it through the months to come in a foreign land. Camilla looked up at her sister knowing time was valuable but she remembered the countless times they had come into the maze, from the time their nanny had first walked them into the maze until they were quickly loosing the tutors and governesses inside, all that time until now. This was the last she would perhaps ever see the maze and her sister as well. "You sent for me?" she asked her sister. Camilla had been overlooking the packing of her her things and her dowery when she got her sisters cryptic letter. Now here Camilla sat looking at her sister with worry wishing she could somehow make this all better like she had done everything else.
Felix paced infant of his father's door awaiting the end of the secret meeting which only enough he had not been invited to. Felix had been in every meeting since he had been old enough to sit still and pay attention. Once the doors burst open Felix strolled into his father's court and watched as the doors were closed behind him. Felix turned to his father and waited for the man who had taught him everything he knew about ruling to speak. "You are well aware that the union between your mother and I had been arranged?" he asked and Felix nodded not waisting time with words. His father's voice rang out in the room commanding attention and respect. Felix greatly admired his father's leadership and could only hope that his own reign would be as great. "You're mother and I have arranged the marriage of the country in which we have been striving against for so long. This will not only keep the people of their country from raising up against up but also give you a chance to reign over more than just the land you know. The country is bountiful in resources and once Princess Charlotte becomes queen you will be able to access these resources. "Charlotte Eavenly is a strong princess and will make an excellent queen who will rule at your side. I expect your full acceptance of this matter and for you to make it work." he said and Felix nodded yet again though he was already calculating the amount of undesirable outcomes that could arise from this situation if he was unsuccessful in winning over who he was sure would be a reluctant bride.

Princess Charlotte held Camilla firmly in her arms. She raised her hand to the crown of her sister's head and started to softly stroke though her long curly hair. Charlotte wanted to be a comfort for Camilla, and to ensure her that it would be okay, telling her such a lie would not benefit her or their country. They were both being sent to countries that their own father had fought against for so long. Their people had been slaughtered, as well as slaughtered thousands to where they were being sent. It was expected that they would not be treated with the dignitiy that they deserved from the commoners, even less so by nobles or their fiancees. At least Camilla had a slightly better chance than her since she was being sent to an enemy by alliance, rather than a true enemy like she was. Though that chance was still slim, at least there was a small one.
"I did send for you." Charlotte said eerily calmly. Her hands slipped from Camilla's hair and softly onto her cheeks. "I have a rather large favor to ask of you. And I understand if you refuse but I ask of you to consider it." She stopped talking for a moment, considering how to phrase what she wanted to say. "I know this was not the path that you would have picked. We both should have stayed in our country. With me ruling here, and you happily married to one of our nobles. Though we have both are being shipped off to some arrogant men who think us prizes." Charlotte let go of her sister's cheeks. "But we are leaving. And when you get there, you will be busy. You'll have to try and keep yourself safe, as well as learn how to rule over a country when you were never expected to...They will surely be trying to keep their eyes on you and I'm afraid that I won't be able to protect you there. And what I'm going to ask will put you in more danger, but it would help me, and father and our home, Aldannia. When you do get to Vieana, would you be willing to spy on them?"
Prince Nicholas was pacing around his room, thinking about the news that he had been told. There was no good to come out of having Princess Camilla as his wife. Once she was here, it was unlikely she would follow any of the rules or customs. It was even more likely that Camilla would fight them all the whole way through the engagement, maybe even through most of their marriage. And there was no reason why she shouldn't! They had allied with her enemies, forced her country into surrender and now they were expecting her to come to Vieana and marry him willingly?! Every royal excepts an arranged marriage, but certainly not to this degree. Also, Nicholas saw very little to gain from this alliance, some resources that they could probably get through trade. They will receive no land since Camilla is not the eldest. Also their alliance with Aldannia was still going to be shaky. While Camilla and her sister were probably close, who was to say that they country would still want to work with them when Charlotte became queen? Plus it would take Camilla years to learn all of the laws and traditions of Vieana. After all it had taken him years to learn it all, and he cared about Vieana! Prince Nicholas rubbed his face before pressing his head into the cool tiles. His father had doomed him to an unhappy marriage, and unhappy soon to be Queen, just to move Vieana a half a step forward.

Camilla looked at her sister as she asked her question. Camilla wanted nothing more than to help her sister and her country but this man even if he was as cruel as her sister believed would still be her husband and just as she expected him not to betray her she didn't want to betray him and she would become a queen whether she liked it or not. That responsibility was still hers. But Charlotte was asking her as her sister and as the future queen. Camilla could not take this lightly. As much as she hated that she was leaving her home and her sister to go live with strangers were she would have to learn things she had never had to before. Camilla was simply thankful they spoke the same language. "Spy? What possibly could I learn sister? And even if I was to learn something of importance how would I tell you such a thing? I have never been a strategist like you sister. I have always simply been the kindness to our country and the strength for many soldiers." she said knowing her beauty and availability made many noble men go to war hoping to earn her heart. "You know I would do anything for you and Aldannia but I do not how to do this." she said looking at her sister with such concern. She knew it would be war if those that she had her sister were going to be wed into were to kill them but treason would surely not go unpunished even in their delicate situation. Camilla looked back at Charlotte with their mother's face and eyes. Camilla was the spitting image of their mother her hair that of their father's though. Her curly dark hair revealed highlights of red as the sun shown down on them. Camilla looked at her sister considering everything she was explaining to her. She realized how dangerous it was to be leaving home and she nodded. "Alright. I will do as you have asked sister." Camilla said in a whisper fear in her eyes as Charlotte finished speaking. "I will do everything in my power to help you restore Aldannia to it's former glory and prestige." Camilla frowned and looked down at the flowers their mother had planted herself before her death when they were still young children. Camilla picked one and tucked it behind her sister's hair. "I wish upon you nothing but happiness and blessings sister no matter in which way that may come. Please be safe." she said and kissed her sister's hair and picked a flower for herself holding it tenderly in her hands. She had to be strong now.

Upon Camilla's agreement, Charlotte felt a great relief and fear. She feared for Camilla's safety, hoping that she would never get caught. And if she did, it was someone willing to keep her secret. Though she felt relief for her country and her future reign. If Charlotte could gather enough intelligence on both enemies, then when she became Queen she could tear them down and bring both herself and her sister back home. She could make her country stronger, and ensure that they would need to fear no one. Standing up, Charlotte hugged her sister tightly. "Thank you Camilla. With enough intelligence I may be able to bring us both home, for I will be attempting the same thing at Embernia. Even with what I have asked you, remember that no piece of information is worth you life. Be careful when learning as much as you can. Surely you will hear and be told things just from being there." Charlotte let go of her sister and handed her an envelope. "This has everything in it about contacting with information safety. Once you have read it, burn it all." Once Camilla hid it in her dress, Charlotte took her sister's hand and started to head back to the castle. "Now, most importantly, be kind to their people, to the nobles and to the Caringtons. I know it will be difficult, but if you are half as strong and kind as you are here, you may be able to win their hearts and have less to fear. When you get settled, start studying their traditions and laws, learn strategy, and anything else you will need to rule. Make sure you continue to make an effort when it is pointless. Ensure that everyone sees how hard you are willing to work for their country and they will hopefully will see you as part of them. Make allies, but never tell them too much. You'll need someone to trust but always remember that anyone can be bargained and there are some things you have to keep to yourself. And if you can, make friends with those who guard you. They will make more of an effort to protect you and lie to you when you need it. Oh and always carry enough money on you to bribe with. You never know when you might need it."

Camilla took the envelope and put it in her dress were she knew it wouldn't be found. Upon her departure she would begin reading it and once she was finished she would burn it. Camilla walked with her sister listening as she spoke. How much was it to bribe someone to betray their country? Camilla didn't understand that but she would keep enough on her to do so. She hated how she would have to act like she would fit into the castle when all she wanted and all she would wait for would be to go home. "It may be years yet until we are able to return no?" she asked realizing she would be well married by then and perhaps with child depending on her husbands drive for a son. Camilla frowned not knowing how she would deal with bedding a man that she did not feel for as it was unlikely she would find any feelings for him.
Camilla reached the castle with Charlotte and hugged her sister again tears threatening in her eyes but she blinked them away and pulled back looking at her sister. "I love you." she said and then ran off before the tears could resurface. Camilla ran to her chambers and looked around at the emptiness of the place. At sunset she was to depart as she had farther to travel than her sister. Camilla sighed and wondered down to her father's chambers. He looked so tired and fragile. Nothing like the man she remembered from her childhood but then again after her mother had passed her father had little strength to him. It amazed her how a woman could hold up a man or tear him up. Camilla hugged and kissed her father saying her fair wells, but Camilla knew she had never been his favorite it was Charlotte whom he would miss and who he was broken over now. Camilla walked out of her father's chambers and down to the kitchen to eat something before she went though she had no appetite.
When everything was said and done Camilla walked to the piers saying goodbye to her people. She stood at the bottom of the boat hoping for one last goodbye from her sister.

Charlotte watched her sister run off before she could say another word. She wished she could rain Camilla for everything she would need to know about ruling. While Charlotte did not have the experience her father had, at least she had been trained since birth. Though there was nothing she could do for Camilla now. It was time for her to grow up and be her own strength. Especially since it was now that Charlotte needed her help, and she was afraid the favor she asked would get her killed. Though if all went right, it would be the thing to save them from their current faiths and be returned home before they were old.
Once her sister disappeared, Charlotte headed her own way. There was a lot she needed to finish before she left at dawn.
    The letter:

    My dearest sister,

I thank you with the deepest sincerity for what you have agreed upon, and I urge you to continue with the up most caution for what you are about to do. It is not an easy task, but it may be one to save us, and those who matter most. It is our of concern for our futures and our people in which we do this. Here is what I have set up for you:
In two weeks time, a lord from home will arrive to Vieana in order to trade rare goods with the nobles, as well as the king and queen to trade valuable goods with the nation as a sign of peace. During his stay, he shall invite you to afternoon tea and you will accept. During tea, the lord will hand you over information on how to created coded messages in which you and I will message with. I would have given it to you before, but it is likely your items will be searched secretly once you arrive.
The code you will receive will be yours to keep in order to create and understand messages we will be giving back and forth. In this messages, you will never refer to personal or identifying information of either of us or our homeland.
These messages will be sporadic, and I do not expect consistent messages. Only send when the information is important and the timing is safe.
When sending messages, you will give them to a two merchants, Harold Fings and Julian Bitherwith, who are consistently traveling between our two countries. They are born and raised Aldannians and are being paid handsomely for their disgression. They do not know what the letters contain, but understand the importance of secrecy.
Most importantly, keep the codebook and the letters in a secret place.

    Be safe,
    Your loving sister

Camilla moved to her coasters on the boat for her voyage and she opened the letter from her sister in the dead of night. Once she had read it she opened the window and placed the letter over the fire until she burned down to as far as she could handle then she set it on a dish and watched it burn to cinders which she sent out into the wind and sighed taking to memory the two names of traders she would need. Camilla laid back upon the bed and closed her eyes. Sleep would not come easily but she would try after all in a few days she would be meeting with her husband to be and she was determined not to arrive in total upheaval as if this journey had taken such a toll on her despite it actually doing so. Camilla sighed and thought of her sister and her home. She stole another glance at the book were she had pressed her home flower before she drifted off to sleep.
The days passed slowly and for that she was both thankful and annoyed. Thankful because she got time to herself to take in all that was happening all to quickly and annoyed because as each day brought her closer to Vieana her anxiety about meeting her groom increased. She had no idea of the man that would be waiting for her just off the boat or the people of the kingdom but she would believe they could not be truly bad and were probably similar to those in her own home.
When the boat docked Camilla was ready. She waited upon the deck looking out at the ocean and saying her last goodbye to the life she had known. "Princess Camilla." the captain called. Camilla turned and walked over to him. "Thank you Captain for your safe passage over the sea." she said and touched his arm kindly earning her a smile. Camilla walked off the ship her eyes landing on the welcoming committee. Camilla smiled warmly and walked down looking at those around her and waited for someone to approach her.

Aldannia's Vieane ambassador step forward when he saw Camilla walk off of the ship. He bowed respectfully before taking her hand and kissing the back of it. As he stood up straight, the ambassador, Samuel, fixed his shirt. "Welcome to Vieane, princess." He smiled at her warmly before leading her to the carriage that would bring them to the castle. "The Carington's, including their son, are waiting to welcome you to the castle. I am sure you had a long voyage, so I maybe I can ease your mind by assuring you the ride is short." Due to Camilla having never met any of the Carington's, it would have been improper for any of them to meet her at the boat. Though, it is an unusual situation that the Aldannia noble, would have to introduce her to her fiancee rather than her father.
As Samuel opened up the carriage door and assisted her inside, the others were loading up the other carriage and horses with her items. "When we arrive, I have the honor of introducing you to the King, Queen and their son." He said as he moved inside and sat across from her. The carriage took off, bringing them away from the ocean and towards the fields and hills. The castle was a speck in the distance. Though the fact that they could see it meant that they were close.
When dawn hit, Charlotte walked out to the front of the castle. The staff, the nobles and her father were all there to see her off. it was only right since she was the heir to the throne. Once she reached her carriage, everyone bowed. Her father stepped forward, hugged her, and gave her a kiss on the forehead before moving to the side. One of the nobles stepped forward, and bowed before gifting her a dagger, so that she may 'protect herself from those bloody bastards'. Charlotte gave the noble a small smile, and her gratitude before heading into the carriage. It road out of the gates, leaving her to herself. Luckily, Charlotte did not have to cross any water, but it would be three days until she reached the Crosslake's castle. Finally, with nothing to set up, with no one to take care of, and no one to see, Charlotte was finally able to break down into tears and mourn over her future.
Three days had passed and now Charlotte was able to see the castle in the distance. Before they had left, she had assured to wear one of her best dresses. She knew that they were going to stare and judge her, so she might as well give them something to look at. Though Charlotte was hoping her beauty might also stun them enough to be kind for a while... Though she did not expect much of it. She was sure they would play their part as the kind and welcoming hosts but she doubted it would last long in private. In fact, she was expecting by the end of day two they would have already asked her for something...
Charlotte gave a little sigh before looking at the window to the castle. She was nervous and fearful, though she wouldn't let it show. Today she was going to be unbreakable.

Camilla smiled at Samuel and walked with him to the carriage. "Thank you." she said and climbed inside. She sighed resting back once she was a lone. She looked around her kind of disappointed that the ocean was even further away. Though at least the smell of salt would be in the air. It was a comfort to her. Camila laid her head back resting as the cart moved. She heard a rasp on the window and looked out the window to see Samuel pointing towards the castle. She hadn't meant to fall asleep. Perhaps the journey had taken more out of her than she had realized. Camilla straightened herself out and sat up as they entered the castle walls.
Camilla was situated in a room allowed to freshen up and to familiarize herself with what would be her room until the wedding. It wasn't more then twenty minutes until there was a knock on the door. Camilla walked over answering the door. Samuel told her it was time and she nodded once. "Please lead on." she said real to face the royal family. Camilla was entirely nervous and felt completely unprepared. She walked with him until they came to the big wooden double does. Camilla stood there hearing her name announced. She walked in as the doors opened looking around casually maintaining her composure. Camilla's eyes met the eyes of a man next to whom she could only assume was the king. She smiled brightly at those around her.
Felix looked down from his thrown beside his father at the woman that was to become his wife. He could already see the stubbornness in her shoulders and as she walked with such grace and composure the stubbornness in her eyes. Felix smiled softly welcoming his bride to be. When she was close enough all the noblemen looked at her eyes greedily taking in her beauty. He had been told of the beauty of the women in Aldannia but it was only right that their princess would be the most beautiful. He would not let that fool him of the woman beneath the beauty. He was sure she had as much in her head as she had beauty. Charlotte was introduced and he stood and formally welcomed her to his country. "Princess Charlotte it is a pleasure to have you join our family and we all welcome you to Embernia." Felix then went through the most important introductions meaning him and his father and mother. "This is Queen Aziza. King Servius and I am your prince Felix." he said and bowed deeply. When he stood again his eyes met with hers. Servius stood as Felix walked to Charlotte offering his hand for her to take. "Let me take your hand my princess." he said softly with great skill. It was obvious he had dealings with both being strict and with being gentle and with Charlotte he was being gentle not because she needed it but because it was perhaps more unexpected more than anything for him to reach out like that. The king smiled as Felix brought Charlotte to him.

Samuel walked before Camilla when her name was called. When they reached the royal family, Samuel bowed before moving to the side so Camilla could walk closer to them. The family consisted of two adults, those being the king and Queen, their two children. Both were male, but one was around Camilla's age, and the other was still a child. "May I introduce Princess Camilla of Aldannia." He said strongly. "Princess, may I introduce, King Robert and Queen Roslyn and their children, Prince Nicolas and Prince Killian."
When Prince Nicolas' name was called, he walked towards Camilla. When he got to her, he bowed his head. "Princess Camilla, it is a pleasure to meet you." He looked up at her, and smiled. She certainly did not seem like the troublemaker that he was expecting. Instead she seemed...trustworthy, and kind. The fact that she had given, what he believed, to be a true smile had given him some hope for their relationship. Plus the fact that she was undeniably beautiful did help. Though while he was staring at her, he suddenly became aware of all those who were staring. Straighting back up, he turned turn to the nobles and staff present. "Everyone, please welcome my fiancée and may you all show her the respect that she deserves." Those around them bowed to Camilla as Nicolas lightly took her hand and brought her closer to his father. The King and Queen both smiled at her, but it was the king who spoke. "Welcome to our home, Princess Camilla. We hope you find everything to your liking."
The 6 year old who was by the Queen's side, stared up at Camilla in awe.
Princess Charlotte didn't even bother to look at the nobleman and woman that were there. Instead she kept her eyes focused completely on the royal family, mostly Prince Felix. When he introduced his family, Charlotte curtsied slightly to the King and Queen out of respect and expectation. She also did the same when Felix bowed to her. As expected, they were welcoming her with open arms. Though she was quite surprised when Prince Felix offered her his hand - not that she showed it. Why would he do such a thing when she was his enemy? Epecislly since she was part of the stragety meetings that killed thousands of his men. She was part of the reason peopled died, and yet they still wanted her in their home, and he still offered his hand. Though if they thought she would forget so easily on the sacrifices she made by being kind, they would be in for a surprise.
But nothenless she was not to be moved today. Without hesitation, Princess Charlotte took his hand and put on a polite smile for him and his family. "It is an honor to meet you all and be welcomed into your home. And, I must say, that your country is truly beautiful. I had the pleasure to see just a small part during my ride here." As much as she wanted to only give her attention to her fiancee, she focused mainly on the king. If she wanted to be treated well for a while she would need to get into his good graces quickly. She would have time later to really look at Prince Felix and figure out what type of man he was.

Camilla blushed feeling the warmth of Nicolas's hand. She had not been expecting that and in her country touching was very intimate and without being asked it was even more so. It instantly made her feel more like his fiancee than a stranger in a strange palace. Whens he moved closer to the king and queen she looked envious between Killian and his mother. She had wished to be sitting as he had longer with her mother. He looked at her and she smiled wanting to hug the small boy. The king spoke and she remembered her place. She had to pay attention. She was no longer the young princess allowed with dazing off and privileges she was a queen in training. Camilla curtsied as the king finished welcoming her. "Thank you, your majesty, I pleased to be here." she said and then stood again and smiled at the old man making him smile back at her. She was perfectly aware of the power she had and the lack of it were she was but if she could gain some of it back by being warm and kind then it was no hard chore for her.
When the introductions wee finished she took a seat by Nicolas and she waited for the proceedings to go on as normal. She was amazed to find they had all gathered simply to greet her. Once they were released into the ballroom for the feast for the engagement announcement and her welcoming she found herself relaxing more. she knew how to handle feasts better. Though she knew her sister would rather her gather more information and to use this time to make allies all Camilla could do at the moment was relax and let the music take her away. Normally music made her spring to her feet but she couldn't seem to do so in the crowd of strangers though she smiled easily as she listened to the conversation around her.
Camilla looked over at Nicolas beside her. "This is very kind of you all." she said softly wishing she could just make small talk without all the fancy words but it was not her place and she was trying so hard to do what she thought might make her sister proud to say she was a princess of Aldannia. Camilla looked upon his face. He had a very handsome face. He might not be the toughest looking of men but it pleased her that he wasn't. It made her feel more at ease that he had kind features. His eyes though they were calculating like her sisters they also held hope and pleasure. It surprised and delighted her.
Servius smiled as Charlotte flattered him. She was quite skilled and would make an excellent queen for his son. "Aww the pleasure is ours Princess. Please sit among us as our princess." he said and Felix displayed her to all the nobles and the present staff. "As Prince to Embernia I here by decree that Princess Charlotte is a princess of Embernia and is to be treated and respected as such." He said and the nobles responded. "Here Here, long live Princess Charlotte of Embernia." Felix offered her the seat next to him and waited until she sat then sat beside her. The priest of the country came up to announce formally the engagement of Prince Felix to Princess Charlotte and then the king and queen led the way out of the court to the banquet hall. Felix stood with Charlotte and escorted er out taking her hand and placing it upon his arm as he put his hand on hers walking to the hall after is parents everyone else following afterwards. "I am sure you had a tiring journey. If you would like to freshen up your maids will attend to you." he said not mentioning the privet guard that would be accompanying her. It was both for her safety as well as for those in the castle. Felix sat at the table with his parents and Charlotte as King Servius made the opening toast and then Felix turned back to Charlotte. "Please do not hesitate to inform me or your maid of anything that you require or desire for." he said his eyes on her. Felix wanted to know how soon she would start to fight him. He was hoping to avoid it for at least a week. He could tell Charlotte was strong and collected but that did not mean she wouldn't fight back. He could tell she had been a part of the siege laid out against his men only a month ago.

As Camilla listened to the music, Prince Nicolas spoke softly to his brother. Killian was curious about Camilla, and he was trying to answer his brother's questions without upsetting or alarming Camilla. He was worried that too much talk of the engagement would unease the princess. And currently she seemed satisfied. Perhaps Nicholas has been worried over nothing. She did not seem upset with she situation. It did not seem like she held any animosity towards them. At most Princess Camilla was nervous, but so was he.
When she began to speak to Nicolas, he turned his head to speak to his fiancée. "We wanted to ensure that you felt welcome. After all this is your home now and soon this will be your family. And please so inform me if you require anything." Nicolas smiled at her once again. "Would you like to dance with me?" He asked. Nicholas had noticed her listening intensely and he was hoping he understood what she wanted to do. He did not want to disappoint Camilla. Also, it was expected of them considering their engagement was just officially announced. He hoped she would agree.
Though what he really wanted to do was begin having private conversations with her. Nicholas wanted to ensure she had no ill intention as well as get to know his future bride. They knew so little about each other. However, it was doubtful that they would have the time to be along tonight. And tomorrow she would probably be busy with getting settled and setting up her classes.
Charlotte was pleased when the king seemed to appreciate her words. At least she was able to start on a good note with him. How long it lasted though would probably depend on how long she was able to keep her mouth shut. Once the engagement was announced, Charlotte wrapped her arm around Prince Felix's and followed him out. She continued to look about their nobles and peasants faces. That was something she was not quite ready for. During the toast she smiled and nodded to both the King and a Queen. She really needed them to like her for as long as she could keep up the act.
Though when Prince Felix began speaking only to her, Princess Charlotte lifted her head a bit higher. She now felt it more approperiate to really look at him. Prince Felix was a handsome man. That was something she hated to admit but on the same coin, she was relieved he wasn't some hideous monster. Instead he was a handsome monster. Though there was something in the way he looked at her that knotted up her stomach. It was something close to 'sizing her up' but that didn't feel exactly on the nose. Maybe it was the fact he probably didn't trust her, or that he was waiting for something to happen. Either way Charlotte felt uneasy.
"Thank you Prince Felix, that is very kind of you." Charlotte said, continuing to keep up with name formalities. "It was a long journey but I shall like to stay down here for a bit longer." Charlotte thought it rude if she were to leave the celebration so quickly.
She moved her eyes off of him and looked out at the center of the room as nobles started to dance. At first her eyes followed the smooth movements of the nobles before her eyes slowly trailed off to the others in the room. Most of the eyes were on her, which was not surprising. She was often used to that. Though she was not prepared looks she was getting. Some men had their greedy eyes on her, like they were already trying to undress her. Some of the woman looked at her with jealousy, probably disappointed that she was the one to marry their price. These, while somewhat disturbing were normal. Though the ones that caused her true discomfort were those who looked at her with pure hatred. They were ready to make her life a living hell before killing her off for the atrosicites she caused in their country. Charlotte's demenour cracked as her body grew stiff. This reaction was only noticeable from up close, but it was not something she was wanting Felix and his family to see. Just because she had been expecting this, did not mean she was truly ready for the reality. At that point Charlotte set her napkin down and stood from her seat. "I shall go freshen up, it had been a long ride."

Camilla smiled at Nicolas as he asked her to dance. "Yes please!" She exclaimed light glinting in her eyes as she took his hand standing and pulling him up. She was so excited to dance she didn't even care if she didn't know the dances. Camilla giggled as they made it out to the dance floor. She placed her other hand in his and started to dance following his movements. She smiled brightly dancing happily to the music. Her laugh as Nicolas spun her made many people look up and smile. More people joined them on the dance floor. Unknown to Camilla this was perhaps the most active these courts had ever been. Camilla motivated people in ways she didn't even notice but the king did and he smiled knowing she would make a great queen as long as they protected her. The king was pleased with this arrangement now all he could hope for was that his son would see the benefits now.
Camilla laughed as they sat down panting a little from all the dancing. Camilla took a long drink and looked at Nicolas. "That was fun." she said and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Thank you." she said glad Nicolas was already starting to spend time with her and was being kind to her. Camilla smiled as she took a bite of the food. Everything was so strongly fascinating here. The feast went long on into the night. Killian was put to bed long before the feast started to wind down. Camilla yawned covering her mouth knowing she was about ready for bed. "Prince Nicolas thank you and your family for this wonderful night but I believe I must retire." she said softly. She hoped that the next day amongst all the things that had to be done she hoped to spend some time with Nicolas.
Felix looked at Charlotte and nodded. He stood and pointed to a guard and gestured for him to come over. "Escort Princess Charlotte to her room and see that she is taken care of." he said and took Charlotte's hand. "I know this is difficult but please let me know if there is anything I can do to smooth the transition. You rest and return to the feast when you are ready." Felix smiled knowing she would have to return to the feast for appearances some time tonight anyways. Felix watched her go and sighed sitting down with his family watching the band.

Prince Nicolas was enjoying the night immensely. Princess Camilla had been lovey company and she had somehow managed to create a more likely party. When they headed back to their seats, he looked out of the dance floor, seeing many of the nobles did swirling around. It made him smile to see what Camilla could do. Even his little brother had been taken out to dance a little before being sent off to bed. He hoped that later this week he would be able to introduce his brother less formally to Camilla. After all, Killian was curious about her and he hoped that camilla would enjoy children.
When the Princess started to speak, Nicolas turned his attention back to her. "Yes, of course. It is getting rather late." Nicholas waved down one of the guards, having him step forward to them. "This is guard Finns, and he will be escorting you back tonight." Finns bowed to her. "If you need anything tonight, Finns shall be able to help you." Nicholas would have preferred to escort her back himself, but there were several people he needed to talk to at the party before heading out himself. Besides Finns was going to need to guard Princess Camilla. "I hope-if there is time tomorrow- that you would join me for afternoon tea?" Nicholas hoped she would agree. He wanted to learn more about his mysterious princess.
Charlotte waited for Felix to finish speaking before removing her hand from his. She did not really believe that he had a desire to smooth the transition for her, but now that he said it, she may be able to make him keep his word. She stepped away from him, and headed out of the banquet room, the crowd moving out of the way for her and the guard. The eyes of the nobles continued to follow her until she was out of sight. Though she still had the guard in front of her. Charlotte wasn't surprise that it was a guard that was put into place to lead her. They were just trying to assure that she wouldn't cause any trouble. Once Charlotte had gotten to her room and sent the maid away, she started to pace around the room, looking at her belongings and the items the Crosslake's had placed in there. Everything was just filling her with rage. This was not her home! This was not where she belonged when her country needed her most! And it was wrong that she was surrounded by subjects that clearly had no desire for her to be there. At home she was loved and admired. At home they respected her and truly wished her a long reign. That simply wasn't the case here. Charlotte knew she fought against this decision as much as she could, and while she was still a princess she only had so much power.
After an hour of convincing herself not to burn down her room, Charlotte walked out of it. As much as did not want to, she was expected back downstairs. The guard had been waiting for her and lead her back to the ballroom. On the way down she wondered out how it would be until she could outsmart the guard. At some point she was going to need to lose him but she wasn't sure when that would be. Once she returned to the ballroom, Charlotte was re-annouced and went back to Felix's side. The banquet had been removed and it was now time for the entertainment. Still she received stares but it had lessen due to the drink and entertainment. Charlotte turned to Prince Felix and gave him a small nod. "Prince Felix." She greeted him.

Camilla smiled brightly. "I would very much enjoy to join you for tea tomorrow." she said and then stood. She curtsied to Nicolas and then to the king and queen who smiled warmly at her. All of this reminded her of a saying her father had told her once when she had been upset that she couldn't get people to listen to her like Charlotte. It is easier to catch flies with honey than with vinegar. Camilla stood and looked around smiling at those having fun and she said goodnight to a few of the nobles she passed. Perhaps she had made more progress than she had realized tonight. Camilla followed Finn towards her chambers. Once she arrived safely she thanked him and gave him a warm smile. He light up and she walked into her room. Camilla sighed as she made it into her room and took off her shoes. Camilla dressed for beds with the help of the maids and she thanked them as well before dismissing them for the night. Camilla sat on the bed brushing out her hair looking at the candle. She worried about her sister. Who would make her laugh and realize she was being to serious?Who would help Charlotte calm down when she got into a mood that was as dark and dangerous as the bottom of the ocean? Camilla set her brush down and laid back on the bed wishing her own bed had been brought here but then she realized how foolish that was because soon she would be sharing a bed with another. Camilla would make it a point tomorrow during tea to ask Nicolas if he knew the date of their wedding. Camilla was actually kind of excited for tomorrow nut also very nervous. She worried about what her sister had said and she wondered when what her sister spoke of would occur.
Felix smiled as Charlotte came back into the room. "Welcome back. Are you hungry? I can have a plate brought out for you." he said wanting her to feel that she was missed and was welcomed back. Felix smiled again watching Charlotte and hoping that despite everything she might learn to like him or at least respect him.
Once Charlotte was settled in he turned to her. "Tomorrow I know you probably have a lot you wish to do but I would like to take a little of your time and just go for a little walk? The weather will be nice and the gardens are beautiful. Perhaps we can get to know each other after all we will be married quite a long time." Felix smiled trying to lighten up the gloom he could see written over her face. Felix knew there was nothing he could really do now but perhaps he could coax a smile from her once and a while.

Nicholas watched Camilla leave before beginning to attend to a few things. He talked to a few of the nobles before turning to bed himself. Though before doing that, he informed one of the kitchen staff to make sure to take special care of his afternoon tea with Princess Camilla. This was something that should be done with high standards since it would be their first time alone together. Once that was finished, Nicholas made it to his room and called it a night.
The next day, Nicholas found himself often thinking about tea with Camilla. His nervousness and excitement for it was visible. Camilla was so wonderfully infectious and he was hoping that it would continue that way. Though, he had no way of knowing whether or not it was all an act until tea. Once afternoon had finally struck, Nicholas made his way to Camilla's bedroom door, knocking before waiting for her to emerge.
Charlotte rejected the offer of being brought a plate. She wasn't feeling particularly hunger. Though she did turn to Prince Felix when he started to speak. She knew she had to look like she was at least trying to make an effort, while that wasn't really the case. Prince Felix was certainly doing better than her in that department. Charlotte forced out a small smile for him as she gave him a nod. "Yes, I think that shall be quite nice. Getting to know a little more about you would be good. Also I heard that the gardens here are beautiful." While she wasn't sure what they had planned for her tomorrow, Charlotte was sure she could push some time aside to speak with Prince Felix alone...Well as alone as she could be with her guard following her around.
"Also, Prince Felix, would you perhaps know someone who could show me around the castle tomorrow? I am sure that you will be too busy to do so, so who would you recommend?" Charlotte wanted to be able to get her bearings right quickly. She needed to know who everyone and where everything was. Soon she was going to have to be able to meet with her informants, nobles and her ambassadors in private. While she was no longer home, she did had responsibilities as the heir to her throne, which she rather keep private to the Crosslakes. And while she would have preferred to walk around by herself, or have her Embernia ambassador do it, she was afraid that would look suspicious.

Camilla woke in the morning and was swarmed with tutors and maids and people that were their to train her to be queen. She ate in her room as she studied. Camilla sighed when the tutor snapped at her for staring out the window. Camilla returned to her books until she heard a knock on her door. She stood and looked at herself in the mirror running a quick comb through her hair. She took a drink of her water and then opened the door relief flooding her seeing Nicolas. "Oh thank the heavens you're here." she said and waved to her tutor who looked at her as if she shouldn't waist time and should get back to studying. Camilla giggled and closed the door. "Can we have tea outside? I am simply going stir crazy!" she said and put her hand easily on Nicolas's arm and lead him down the hall like she was afraid that the tutor wold come after her and stop her if they didn't hurry.
Camilla smiled at Nicolas as they broke through the doors into the outside. She seemed to relax into herself more. "Aww this is wonderful." she said and looked around before looking back at him. "So Prince Nicolas how has your day gone? I am sure you were nothing but busy. I can't say on just a day but it seems your county is very aggressive when it comes to working on things." she said and laughed at her own whit. Camilla felt like she could talk for hours after having been quiet all morning. "I honestly haven't worked so hard since childhood." she said and chuckled listening to Nicolas. She hoped they could at least become friends and so far he had been nothing but easy to be around. Camilla had to remind herself not to become to attached to anyone here for she was going to help Charlotte to get them both home.
In the mean time though Camilla was simply delighted seeing the tea being set up out in the sun a little umbrella being set up. All she wanted to do was take off her shoes and roll in the grass but it was simply inappropriate and she was sure she had already pushed the limits of her behavior and did not want to scare off someone that could be a huge ally to her in the courts and with the nobles.
Felix frowned as she said he would be to busy. It was true with Charlotte's arrival had brought a lot of things that needed to be sorted out but he wanted to make sure she had everything she needed. He knew a tour of the castle could go one of two ways and since he didn't think it would be a sweet little tour down memory lane with Charlotte he thought through those he could trust to give Charlotte the knowledge she desired. "Princess are you ever anything but business?" he asked and looked around.
Felix called a guard to him and spoke in hushed tones to him. The guard left then returned to his post. Moments later a beautiful woman walked over and curtsied. "My Lord?" she then smiled at Charlotte. "Princess." she said and curtsied once more then retired her gaze to Felix. Felix smiled. "Persephone. Princess Charlotte need someone she can trust to guid her through the palace and to teach her the ropes." he said and smiled. Persephone smiled and nodded looking at a noble not to far away after Felix had and nodded. "Understood my lord. I will happily take on the lady in waiting role for Princess Charlotte but my lord I will not break her confidence anything that aspires between us will not be made known to you." she said and Felix nodded. "Indeed that is why I picked you." he said and looked at Charlotte. "Will this do in my absents?" he asked wanting her to have the final say upon the matter. "If not you may of course have your pick of the many woman in our kingdom but I have heard from my sister that there is no better lady than Persephone." he said. His sister had been married off many months ago and would perhaps get to make it down for the wedding but had not been able to make it down to welcome Charlotte.

Prince Nicholas watched the way her eyes shone in the sun, and he couldn't help but smile at her. He really could not have been any luckier. He truly thought that this was all going miserably but she was a wonder to be around. As tea was being served to them, Nicholas laughed a little at her words. "I assure you that we are not normally so aggressive when it comes to work. While you may always be busy, your schedule should become a bit more bearable soon. It is just due to your arrival here. My father wants to make sure that you know the essentials. Though, if it helps, my day was also quite busy. I was actually talking to your ambassador."
Once the tea was served, Nicholas started to drink and eat the food that was made available to them. He cleared his throat, realizing that maybe he should not bring up his conversation with the ambassador. "How did tutor Yalen treat you? Did you learn anything interesting so far?"
Charlotte's eyes narrowed slightly and her lips pursed slightly at Prince Felix's question on her only being business. Oh she did not like question at all. After all, was she not engaged to him due to 'business'? It was the only reason she was here. And even if she was willing to give him a chance, Charlotte knew not of what she would talk to him about. Besides, while Charlotte knew she had to try and get along with him, what she needed most was to ensure to could continue working as the heir of her country. Let him try and be a female heir or rule in a male oriented world without being all business.
Though the moment Persephone walked over, Charlotte calmed down. She was surprised that a woman was chosen to show her around. And the way that the lady spoke to Felix seemed strange. Why would she keep secrets from her crowned prince? Though nonetheless Charlotte immediately decided she liked this one. While she was not positive she would actually keep any secrets, Charlotte was sure that Persephone would do just fine. "Yes, I am sure that Lady Persephone will be an excellent guide." Charlotte said to Prince Felix before smiling softly at Persephone. "I thank you for your time, Lady Persephone. Shall we meet up after breakfast tomorrow?"

Camilla smiled at Nicolas's laugh. She very much liked the sound of that. He told her comforting words and talked with her but when he stopped and cleared his throat she frowned and sat back. Camilla pulled her hair to one side and then took her cup and took a strong drink. She breathed in and then out as she set her glass down. Already it was bringing, the distrust. She crossed her leg as he attempted to change the subject. Camilla found it hard to focus on what he was saying when the obvious was like a cutting knife to her chest. Camilla waited until she could breath through the pain and sat forward. "I am not sure what you are afraid of about me Prince Nicolas, but I assure you that if you are than those around you will be as well. I understand I am new and have yet to be proven trustworthy despite having shown that quality. If you do not desire to share something that is understandable but do us both a favor and do not pretend that you are not trusting your instincts with me. Simply put I will not be handled and as your fiancee I expect to be treated as such in the future. Now I do not like confrontation very much, you see it has always been my sisters job but I am alone here and I had very much hoped to become your friend and someone you can trust in, seeing how we will eventually will be sharing the same bed." Camilla's eyes were dangerously calm with the hint of betrayal she felt. Camilla sat back and sipped her tea again and looked out at the garden and took another deep breath then continued on as if nothing had just happened. "Tutor Yalen I believe will be an exultant teacher but at the moment I am having trouble concentrating because it is simply beautiful outside and wistfully staring out at the sky is not studying." she chuckled remembering how Yalen had snapped at her. "None the less I am finding many fascinating things about your culture and the nature of how things are done here. It is very different from my home and yet reminds me so much of Charlotte." she said with a sad smile her eyes more guarded now. "I only wish I could actually see these things in person instead of simply reading about them but perhaps that will come later." she said. Camilla was light hearted and easy to please but she had a few things that made her burn inside and she was strong enough to be sure others knew about it and how to correct it.
Felix smiled at Charlotte's approval. He nodded and sat back. "I am pleased you see her potential as well." he said and left the two ladies to figure out their schedule. Persephone smiled at Charlotte and nodded. "Yes my lady I shall be happy to show you around after breakfast. May I ask were you will be taking your breakfast?" she asked wanting to be sure she could be at the right place at the right time. Persephone was delighted to be given a new role to a woman whom she expected to be the next Queen. It was defiantly a step up to her.
Felix watched the entertainment wondering if there was a way he might be able to get onto Charlotte's good side tomorrow while he tried to show her the wonder of his kingdom and perhaps sway her to give him a chance without judging him as quickly as she had been doing of late. Felix was so lost in thought that when his mother spoke to him she had to call his name several times before his head snapped to look at her. "Yes mother?" he asked softly with affection. Queen Aziza smiled softly at her son. "The night Jasmine is in bloom son." she said and Felix smiled remembering the story his mother had told him so many times as a child about how his father had won his mother over wit night Jasmine. It had taken him so long to figure out what it was that made her happy and the night Jasmine had reminded her of home and the memory of stories told to her by a father long passed. Felix looked over at Charlotte. Her beauty was hypnotizing and he watched her just because he could. His eyes were soft and more curious than anything.
