The Science of Politics

When Leo returned, he set down a tray of food in front of both of them before sitting down in the chair across from her. He was rather surprised that Lennox did not try to run. Though perhaps it was only because she was lost. Either way, he decided that the best course of action would be for both of them to eat. He was rather hungry, and he knew that he would need to feed her anyways. After a few bites, Leo pulled out a small notepad. "Who would you say is your father's closest friends or allies?"

"I would have to be a heartless, cruel, wanting to see the world burn psychopath to join your group of crazies!" She yelled back at him. "Have you not looked at your members? Maybe some of this buy into the idea of your 'perfect world' but most are just destruction seekers! They don't want to see your better society, or the peace that you so greatly mapped out. They just want to burn, and rape and kill." She hissed at him, jumping a little in her seat. "Your society will be filled of criminals who will just continue what they are doing now for another, a different 'just' cause when it fits them."

Lennox watched as he set the food down and ate with him. She shrugged when he asked about her dad's friends. "I don't really know any of them. My dad kept most of that stuff a secret." She explained. "I only know of Brian Rogers." She said, as she took a sip of the water he gave her. God it was good to have really good water. "I'm pretty sure he is dead though." She told him. "I'm sorry i don't know more. I didn't talk to my dad much. We didn't get along." She explained.

Raine shook his head, "Trust me that is not what they want. Anyone who becomes a threat to the group is killed. These people are the same people who fought peacefully for justice for years. You know what peaceful protest got us nowhere. People are paying attention now." He explained. "Don't tell me that they are all crazy. They are normal people who's voices were never heard!" He snapped. "Isn't there something you hated about the government that you hated that you wanted changed. They would have never listened to you." He said.

Leo let out a small sigh before putting away his notebook. "I will just have to ransom you to the politicians that your father was allied with most." He then went back to eating his food. "Why did you not get along with him?" By the way she was talking about her father, Leo was thinking that he may be able to turn her to their way of thinking.

"Actually, yes, I wish there was something that they had changed. I wished that they had gotten better security!" Roselyn snapped at him. "And the only reason people are paying attention to you all now is because they are afraid for their lives! You are something to be feared, not embraced." She leaned back into her chair, beginning to get tired of this argument. Honestly, she was in a lot pain and her jaw was tensing in pain from the beating and from the yelling she had been doing. By now almost all of her face showed the black and blue that proved the hard beating she had gotten. All she wanted to do was lay down and sleep.

Lennox looked at him, "My dad was involved in a lot of political murders that were claimed to have been done by terrorist groups. That was before any of this happened." She explained. "I did not want to be involved with him. He actually helped blow up a children's hospital for insurance reasons." She said, shaking her head. She took another bite of his food. "Then when all this started to happen i ran away from him and he literally hunted me down." She said.

Raine shook his head, "You will learn one day." He said as he walked towards the door. "Have a nice night." He said. He shut the door and relaxed in his room. He returned the next day, smiling when he saw her. "Good morning." He said as he began to lay out some knives he brought with him. "Today you are going to give me answers. I just know it." He said, smiling.

Leo shook his head at Lennox's words. "This is the exact thing that my group is fighting against. You would be surprised at how many politicians are corrupted, and so many do worse than your father. It is something that we simply can't stand for anymore." He let out a sigh, as he looked up into her eyes. He was trying to get a sense for how she felt about what he was saying. There was a chance he could turn her, but he wasn't sure.

Roselyn was laying on the ground when the man came back in. She was still stuck to the chair, but she figured that it was at least nice to be on her side. When he walked in though and started to lay out the knives, she let out a small sigh. This was not something she was looking forward to. "Before you start using thoses, you should at least tell me your name." Roselyn just wanted to know who she should be cursing through this whole ordeal.

Lennox shook her head, "What you do is wrong too. You are killing innocent people as well. How are you any different?" She asked him. "And don't tell me you don't because i watched someone from your group kill a child." She said. Lennox took a sip of her water and leaned back against her seat. He had spared her though and she was thankful for that. She looked down at her empty plate then looked at him. "How big is this place?" She asked, looking around them.

Raine smirked and walked over, sitting her chair up. "My name is Raine." He told her. He smiled as he held the small knife up to her. "Last chance to tell me the rest of your leaders names. Don't make me hurt you." He explained. Raine frowned as he watched her. He could tell she wasn't going to tell him anything.

"Sometimes doing the wrong thing is the only way to chance something for the better." Leo told her. Though he was not going to continue the conversation. While there was still a chance to convince her, it normally did no good to press anyone too hard. It was something that would take a little bit of time. "The place is actually pretty big. Most of it is underground so even I am not entirely sure how large it is."

Roselyn closed her eyes, deciding that she did not want to see the knife coming when it did happen. She gripped onto the back of the chair tightly, knowing that what was going to come next would be painful. "I will not tell you a single thing." Roselyn said firmly before gritting her teeth.

Lennox looked at him, "You're not important enough to know everything?" She asked him. She wasn't surprised that he was just part of the group that killed people. It hit her that he was one of the few that they selected to be the assassins. Lennox looked away, "Can i see it?" She asked him. She was kind of curious to see what he was aloud to know about. She figured he would have some things he had to do anyway. She was sure he didn't want to be constantly babysitting her.

Raine sighed, "Oh i wish you would change your mind." He said as he stabbed her leg. He made sure not to stab her where it would cause her to die. "Change your mind yet?" He asked as he twisted the knife. He pulled the knife out and wiped it off with a towel. He looked down at her, "Anything?" He asked.

"I am afraid that knowing everything is kept for a very limited amount of people." Leo said as he finished off his food. When he was done, he pushed his plate to the side before standing up. "Well I guess that you can see a few things, but I am not bringing you around on a whole trip of the place."

Roselyn bit down hard on her teeth before beginning to scream out. The pain was horrible. It spread up and down her whole leg. Though still she refused to tell Raine a thing. "If you don't want to do it, then just don't." She shouted at him as he pulled the knife out of her leg. Roselyn was breathing hard as tears steamed down her face. No matter what, she could not budge.

Lennox stood up and nodded, "Okay." She said. She walked with him out of the cafeteria then walked down the hallway. Lennox looked at him, "Why did you tell that guy that i was yours?" She asked him. She was curious to what would have happened had Leo not came into the room then. Lennox made sure to stay near him because she didn't know where she was going. She had so many questions, but she didn't want to keep asking. Lennox stopped in the hall when she saw pictures of the people who had died for this group. Lennox's eyes moved to the one guy, frowning. She felt Leo staring at her, "Jake was my boyfriend." She whispered. He was one of the first bombers that started it all. Lennox felt a slap in the face seeing it here.

Raine frowned, "That's not how it works around here." He said as he stabbed her again, "Tell me what you know!" He yelled at her. He stabbed her again and looked at her, wiping the tears from her face. "Tell me." He said, glaring at her. He knew once she opened up he could make her start to work for his group. It would take time and a tab bit of brainwashing. The politicians made sure to make their protectors loyal.

Leo glanced over at Lennox when he asked her that question. He thought that the situation was obvious, but it seemed it was not that way. "He probably would have taken you for himself...if you understand what I mean." Leo said as she stopped walking. He stopped too, looking back at her before glancing up at the picture that was on the wall. His eyes fell on the man in the photo, taking in what she said for a moment. He knew of their sacrifice well. "Was he still your boyfriend at the time?"

Roselyn screamed out again as the knife went back into her flesh. Her breathing was becoming much quicker. So quick that Roselyn was no longer sure if she was even breathing at all. Now her nails was digging into the back of the chair, leaving nail marks. "NO!" She screeched before throwing her head down. It was almost all too much to bear.

Lennox nodded, "That's why i ran. I didn't know he was involved in this and he left me a note. Along with some weapons and a well thought about plan to get me out of the town. That building they blew up released a bunch of poison gas. I was long gone before it happened. I lived in the woods for weeks with his friend. My dad caught me in New York before they attacked there." She explained. She looked at him, then looked away. She had moved on from this, but the picture caught her off guard.

Raine looked at her and stabbed her again, "Tell me!" He screamed. "God dammit say something!" He yelled. Raine frowned as he pulled the knife away. "Got anything to say yet?" He asked. "I'm only just starting so go ahead and speak while you still can." He threatened. He got in her face and wiped her tears again, "Go on tell me." He said.

"I understand that this may be hard to here. But he died, fighting for a cause that he believed in. That is admiral. Leo said before he moved his hand against her back. Slowly, he started to lead Lennox away from the picture. He doubted that it did her any good to keep looking at it.

Roselyn could feel herself fading in and out of consciousness. Though she could also feel Raine's warm hands on her face as he wiped away her tears. She could barely keep herself upright. Her eyes began to flutter before she became to mumble. "Henry Gils." Roselyn lied to him. God she was only hoping to make it stop for a while, but she was unsure if it would work or not.

Lennox sighed as she walked with him, "Yea tell that to his mom who went to his funeral alone because nobody wanted to go near his funeral." She muttered. She walked with him then looked at him, "So what are you showing me first?" She asked him, trying to change the mood. Lennox was starting to like Leo he seemed to actually care about people.

Raine smiled, "Well then i guess i will have my friends check that out. You better hope you aren't lying." He said as he set the knife down. He pulled away and cleaned her up some. "While i'm gone i have something to keep you entertained." He said. He turned on the a video they used to do brainwashing and walked away. "Have fun." He told her as he closed the door and walked to talk with his friends.

Leo let out a small sight at her words. If only his mother knew he was basically treated like a god here. He continued to lead her down the hallways. "Well it depends on what your interested in I guess. I was going to show you the gym."

With her wounds at least covered up, Roselyn felt safer to pass out now. She wasn't sure how much longer she could take so she was thankful for the break. Though she had no idea how long it would last for.

Lennox nodded, "Alright show me." She said. When they got to the gym she looked around with him. She bit her bottom lip lightly as the guys there stared at her. She hated when people stared at her. Lennox stayed next to Leo, "What else you got?" She asked him. "Something more appealing where i don't get looked at please." She said, smiling as she walked out of the gym with him. She was amazed at how far this group at came. She didn't think it was this evolved. "Can I ask who you plan to go after next?" She asked him.

Raine returned to her hours later with some food. "Here." He said, waking her up. "I brought you food, but i'm only going to untie you so you can eat if you promise not to fight with me. I would hate for you to get hurt." He said, smirking as he got her food ready. Raine had people outside that were ready if she tried anything as well. Raine walked over to her and untied her, stepping back. He turned off the tv and watched her.

"I plan on returning to my room after this." Leo glanced at Lennox, trying to think of where to bring here. There were only so many places that weren't about work there. Though, he was able to think of one place to bring here. He led her through the building and brought here to the farming area. There was only a few people there, but they were too busy to notice either of them. It was actually quite impressive that they had such a large farming area.

Roselyn rubbed her wrists softly when she was finally free from the handcuffs. And then she slowly leaned forwards and started to eat the food that she had been given. She was quiet, and for the most part Roselyn seemed kinda dazed. Though that should be expected with the injuries that she had. And there certaintly were no plans to escape. With her leg the way it was now, Roselyn knew she wouldn't even be able to walk.

Lennox nodded aa they walked into the farming room, "wow this place is amazing." She said as she looked around. It had been hard to grow this much variety lately. Lennox walked over to him, "So i guess you are going to take me back to that room?" She asked. She imagined she would be locked in there quite a lot. Lennox bit her bottom lip lightly as she looked around, "This is really neat." She said. She couldnt believe they had something like this.

Raine smiled as he watched her eat, "Im going to have one of our doctors come look at you today." He explained. He didnt need her dying due to torture wounds. "Then, we are going to talk some more." He said. He had found out she lied and his boss had said for him to go easy because they didnt need her shutting down on them. Raine watched as she finished eating then got rid of her plate, letting the doctor in. He stood there as the doctor stitched her up and checked her wounds. Raine watched as he left, "Now as you can tell i can help you or i can end you." He said.

"It really is rare to be able to farm like this now." Leo said as he walked around with here. There really were a lot of fruits Ana veggies being grown. Many of them most people haven't seen since the bombing. "And yes you will be brought back to your room. I also highly recommend you do not try to escape." If she actually got lose, Leo might be forced to kill her.

Roselyn held onto her wrists after the doctor had left. She understood why he had stitched up her wounds. It was just so she wouldn't die but it also allowed him to stab her in more places. Which is what she assumed would happen once Raine learned she lied to him. "I understand." She mumbled. She knew he was in charge of her. Roselyn also knew that all of this would lighten up once she gave them information. But she was still loyal to her people.

Lennox nodded, "Kind of hard to runaway in a placr like this." She said. She walked with him back to her room, "You could give me something with better scenery." She said, smiling at him. She walked into the room, hearing him close the door behind her. She sat on the bed that was in the corner and looked out the barred window. God she missed the way things use to be.

Raine looked at her, "I know you lied about that name. However the reason you are alive still is because my boss says you are just too important to kill right away." He said as he sat in front of her. "So how about we try again? Telling me who else is in your little group." He said as he leaned back against his chair. He had all day and he was going to use every second of it.
