The Kids Aren't Alright | Closed.

Matt leaned over and gently kissed Elizabeth’s cheek.

"Mommy you and daddy ever get married," Luna asked. "Aiden and Jacob wonder."

Elizabeth finished braiding Luna's hair, putting her favorite purple glitter hair tie on the end before she looked at Matt for an answer.

“I want to,” Matt said, looking over at Elizabeth. “But it’s a bit more complicated than a normal marriage.”

"Why," Rae asked. "You love each other."

Elizabeth began doing Rae's hair, unsure how to even talk to the girls about her and Matt's situation.

"Because, your mom is my sister," Matt said. "And everyone in the world thinks it's wrong to love your sister or brother the way we do."

"But I heard grandma say mommy is adopted," Rae argued. "That mean you can. Just tell them!"

"Rae it's not that simple," Elizabeth frowned.

Matt reached down and pulled Luna into his lap, kissing the top of her head. "I'm looking into it, Rae, but it's not easy," he said.

Rae frowned, upset because she didn't understand why it was so hard for them to be together.

Matt knew Rae was confused and upset, but he didn't know what else to tell her.

"Promise you won't go back to daddy," Rae pleaded.

Elizabeth finished braiding Rae's hair and hugged her tightly. "I love Matt and I hate your daddy," she stated.

Rae hugged her mother back, pleased by her answer.

Matt’s brows furrowed as he looked at Elizabeth. Was he missing something? He looked back down at the girls and smiled. “What do you guys want for dinner?” he asked.

"Pizza," Rae and Luna explained.

"What kind of pizza would you guys like," Elizabeth asked.

"Pineapple," Rae answered.

"Cheese," Luna stated.

"Pineapple on pizza?" Matt questioned. "You're so weird."

Rae glared at Matt. "You're weird," she argued.

"It's okay Rae," Elizabeth stated. "I like pineapple on pizza too."

Matt chuckled. "It's a good weird," he said.

Elizabeth pressed a kiss to Rae's forehead as the three year old hugged her tightly. "Do you want dominos or home made pizza," Elizabeth asked.

"We could all do homemade together," Matt said.

Rae nodded.

Elizabeth nodded, picking Rae up and carried her with her to the kitchen. Luna smiled at her dad and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Pizza daddy," she exclaimed.

Matt smiled and stood up, carrying Luna downstairs into the kitchen.

Elizabeth set Rae down on the counter besides her and began getting all the supplies together to make the pizza. Rae sat quietly, smiling as she watched her mom. "You have an owwie on your neck," Rae frowned. Elizabeth quickly moved her hair to hide it and pressed a kiss to her daughter's forehead. "I'm fine," she promised.
