Giselle sat on her bed quietly reading, she had just had a busy day at work, it had been Fuckhead Friday at the grocery store, there were more rude customers then there were nice. She was over it. five years in the job was way too long but she knew she had to stay in it until she could get a full time job, one that pays well. She is studying to become a teacher, english teacher, to be exact but due to her work things aren't happening as fast as she would like them to. She was doing it online due to university not working out for her.
As she sat there her mobile phone vibrated next to her, pulling her head from the pages she looked down at the caller id. It was an unregistered number, the option to let it ring out was strong but instead she did the right thing and picked up.

    "Hello Giselle speaking."

"Miss Holmes," it was a female voice on the other line. "Yes hello, this is Catherine Michaels from the Cupid's Arrow office. You filled out a questionnaire for us not too long ago in regards to finding love."

"Oh yes, hello, wow that was quick," she began to blab instantly feeling excited for the phone call and instantly patting herself on the back for answering.

"Yes, we do tend to get the information processed as quickly as possible. And I am happy to inform you that we have found a match for you. Your date will meet you at the Bluebird Cafe tomorrow at six thirty. We do hope you have a great time and hope Cupid's Arrow has worked it's magic. We will talk to you again soon Miss Holmes goodbye."

"Oh yes, thank you. Goodbye," with that she ended the call and fell back on the bed. A wide smile spreading across her face. This was the most exciting news she had heard for a while.
"YO! Micah you got a phone call."

"Who is it?" Micah called from underneath the car he was working on, grease smeared his skin as he worked at the underside of an old valiant car.

"A Catherine Michaels from Cupid's Arrow." Quickly Micah had rolled out from underneath the vehicle and was wiping his hands on a rag before grabbing the phone of his mate. Not missing the confused look spread across his face.

    "Yes hello this is Micah,"

"Hello Mister Lewis," the woman's voice came clearly from the other line. "This is Catherine Michaels from the Cupid's Arrow office. You filled out a questionnaire for us not too long ago in regards to finding love."

"Yeah, I remember," he answered a small smile spreading across his face. He hoped this phone call was good news otherwise he was going to be in a pretty shitty mood for the rest of the day.

"Well I am happy to inform you that we have found a match for you."

"Really?" he couldn't hide the excitement in his tone.

"Really, in fact your lovely date will be meeting you tomorrow at the Baggie's Bar at six thirty. We do hope you have a great time and hope Cupid's Arrow has worked it's magic. We will talk to you again soon Mister Lewis goodbye."

"Oh yeah, thanks for that. Bye." with that he ended the call and went back to the car his was working on not saying a word to his befuddled friend simply rolling back under the valiant and getting to work.

  • Henry's workday was coming to an end and he packed up his things so that he could leave the highschool and head home. It had been a long day, but he loved teaching. Knowing that he helped students accomplish goals and learn more made him happy - and seeing how happy they were when their grades grew higher was one of the best sights Henry had ever even knew of.

Just as he was walking out and to his car, he heard his cell phone ring. Blinking with mild surprise, he went to retrieve it from his pocket, though he didn't recognize the caller ID. Regardless, he answered it.

    "Hello?" he asked.

"Hello, is this Mister Wilkins?" the voice on the other line spoke.

Well, at least it didn't seem like a wrong number. Still, Henry nodded. "Yes, it is," he confirmed.

"Hello, this is Catherine Michaels from the Cupid's Arrow office. You filled out a questionnaire for us not too long ago in regards to finding love," the voice announced, though it took a moment for Henry to recall that he had filled it out.

It wasn't too surprising, considering how much paperwork he often filled out. "Oh, that," he said with a nod, "Yeah, I remember doing that now." He hadn't been expecting much of it, though. For the most part, he had just filled it out because he was curious.

"Well, we're happy to let you know that we've found you a match," Catherine announced from the other line, though Henry could hear the smile in her voice. "Your lovely date will meet you at the Bluebird Cafe tomorrow at six thirty. We do hope you have a great time and hope Cupid's Arrow has worked it's magic. We will talk to you again soon Mister Wilkins, goodbye."

For a moment, Henry wasn't sure how to reply. But, the thought of having a date had him a little giddy. Moreover, he was glad Cupid's Arrow had already set up the place and time of the date, because he would have been at a complete loss. "Thank you," he said immediately, though he grinned slightly when the call ended.

Moving to his car, he climbed in to head home, though he added the date to his phone's schedule so that he wouldn't forget. At least he had a day to prepare, which was relieving as well.
It was a slow day at The Little Florist, but that was nothing new to Amelia. The busiest days were usually Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. The only other time they got calls were for funerals. Flowers for couples were a lot rarer now than they once were, aside from the occasionally "apology bouquet" or bouquets for anniversaries or parties. Because of this, most days were simple.

That's why, when Amelia heard the florist shop's phone ring, she was mildly surprised. Regardless, she grabbed a notecard and pen so that she could get the information needed for whatever flower arrangement was being called in.

When she answered the phone with the usual, "Hello! This is The Little Flower Shop! How can our services help you today?" though, the last thing she expected was for the person on the other line to say, "Hello, is Amelia Thorne there?"

Blinking, it took a moment for Amelia to register that she was personally being asked for, and she didn't recognize the voice. "Speaking," she said, "Is there something I can help you with?"

"Oh, no. This is Catherine Michaels from the Cupid's Arrow office. You filled out a questionnaire for us not too long ago in regards to finding love," the voice on the other line mentioned.

This surprised Amelia quite a bit. "Oh, wow. I only filled that out, what, last week?" she mentioned, though she hoped she wasn't causing distractions in the phone call. She hadn't expected a call so soon, though part of her worried that such a thing meant that no match could be found for her.

"That's right. And we've found you a match. Your date will be meeting you tomorrow at the Baggie's Bar at six thirty. We do hope you have a great time and hope Cupid's Arrow has worked it's magic. We will talk to you again soon Miss Thorne, goodbye," Catherine answered, though there was a smile in her voice.

"Oh, ah, thank you!" Amelia quickly said after she recovered from the shock that came with hearing Catherine's words. The call ended and she put the phone aside after writing down the information Catherine had given her.

Giselle just finished putting her Choker on and looked over herself in her floor length mirror. Her blonde hair fell down her back in loose waves. Her stomach was in tight knots with nerves she only had an hour to go before she knew she had to leave for her date. She had been hanging all day waiting for the time to leave. She had spent all morning sorting out the outfit she was going to wear. Giselle finally decided on a black and green colour scheme once she had gone through every other colour combination she could think off.

Doing a small turn in front of her mirror she felt like she was totally pulling it off and she had done her best to conceal the dark rings around her eyes and add colour to her tired face. She looked like herself again and not the tired workaholic she had become.
Her phone began to ring, it was an alarm she had set for herself to tell her that she needed to get going if she wanted to be on time, she wasn't sure what the traffic was going to be like on the way to the Bluebird. She hoped not hectic.

However knowing her luck recently she would be stuck behind every car and his every red light. She prayed that it wasn't the case and that she wouldn't make a bad first impression.
Grabbing her keys she exited her two bedroom flat and jumped in her car. All day her thoughts had been about her date and what he would be like. Would he be nice? Would he be tattooed? Would he like literature as much as she did? That was the one thing she hoped for the most. That he two of them could bond over their mutual love for literature and the English language.

"You got this Giselle," she told herself. Psyching herself up before heading off toward the cafe where she would meet her date.
Micah pulls his leather jacket over his shoulders and runs his fingers through his black curls. Any trace of grease or grime gone. He had made sure to scrub his skin till it felt like he had taken it off. Looking at the watch on his wrist he saw he had half an hour left. Cursing he grabbed his keys and ran out his flat slamming the door behind him. He jumped in his car and started his engine revving his engine before speeding off.

"Don't be late Micah," he cursed at himself his foot was sitting on the speed limit, he lived fifteen minutes from the bar but as it was a Friday night he knew it was going to be difficult to get in. Every man and his dog would be there for dinner or a drink at least. He ran several yellow lights instead of slowing he sped up several horns blared at him but at that point and time he really didn't care. He didn't want to make a bad impression on his date.

A breath of relief fell from his lips when he pulled into a spare park. Looking at his watch he saw that he had ten minutes to spare. Jumping out of his vehicle he headed toward the door.

"Hello sir." the clerk greeted him.

"Hi, hello yes. I have a table booked for six-thirty."

"Micah Lewis is it?" he nodded his head. "Follow me please," the two walked into the bar weaving between other bodies and tables before she stopped before a table of two "have a good evening sir." with that she walked away leaving him sitting alone and waiting for his date to arrive.

  • Though Henry was anxious about this date, he was also fairly excited. He wondered, for a moment, if he was this excited because he hadn't been on a date in so long or if it was because Cupid's Arrow seemed so confident about their successful matching skills. If they'd managed to properly match him, he wondered what all had made it possible to match him with somebody.

As he stared at himself in his mirror, he wasn't sure whether dressing the way he was was appropriate. Did he look too dressy? He smoothed his hands over his shirt and let out a sigh. It was just a date at a cafe, so maybe this wasn't the best choice. Regardless, he didn't have enough time to change before he'd have to go to the cafe, so he gathered his keys and headed out.

Heading to his car, he went to his car and unlocked it before he opened it and got in. Starting it, he checked the time again, but tried not to think about it as he began the drive to the cafe. He'd left with enough time to get there, though he knew he was likely cutting it close. He hoped that wouldn't be the case, though.

It didn't take too long to get to the cafe, thankfully, and he checked the time once more. He still had a few minutes, which meant that he wasn't late. Hopefully, he wouldn't have ended up making his date wait too long for him to arrive, if she had ended up arriving early.

Getting out of his car, he made his way inside and looked around for a moment. His curious expression must have caught one of the waitresses' attention, because she moved over.

"Hello, are you Henry Wilkins?" she asked, though her question surprised him. Regardless, he nodded and she smiled. "Thought so. A woman from Cupid's Arrow let us know you were coming. She sends people here sometimes, so." She shrugged slightly. "You can wait at a table for your date to arrive, if you want."

Henry blinked but offered a smile and nodded. "Thanks," he said, his tone genuine before he glanced around. Eventually, he settled on a table and moved to sit down, his eyes on the door while he waited for his date to show up.
Time seemed to pass exponentially slowly that day. Amelia had been allowed to leave work early so that she could get ready for her date, but it felt like forever had passed before it had been time for her to leave. And, once she got home, time seemed to move even slower - which, she supposed was best, considering how indecisive she was when it came to what she should wear.

At first, she'd thought about wearing a dress or maybe a shirt and skirt, but she usually only wore outfits like that for work. At the same time, she didn't want to seem like she was trying too hard to look nice. If she seemed overwhelming, things might be really awkward. Eventually, she settled on a simple outfit, figuring it looked nice enough.

Satisfied with her appearance, she decided to walk to the bar. It was close enough and she had enough time; plus, if she felt the need to drink too much, she wouldn't have to worry about the possibility of having to drive home with alcohol in her system. Grabbing the keys to her home, she left and headed to the bar.

It didn't take too long to get there and she got there five minutes before it was time for the date. At least she wasn't late. She paused in her steps when a woman approached. "Hello, may I help you?" the woman asked with a smile.

For a moment, Amelia wondered how exactly she was supposed to go about this. Eventually, she settled on saying, "Oh, um, I'm supposed to meet somebody here?"

The woman seemed to understand, because she nodded. "I see. Well, since we only have one reservation for tonight, I'm assuming you're Amelia Thorne?" she mentioned, to which Amelia nodded. "Your date's already here, in that case. Follow me, then."

As the woman began to lead the way, Amelia hesitated only for a moment before she began to follow.

Giselle got out of her car and saw that she had five minutes left, God I am cutting it fine! she thought to herself as she walked into the cafe. She walked up to the counter where she was greeted by a young brown haired woman.

"Hello," a kind smile spread across her face.

"Uh, yes, hello. I am here for dinner, six thirty. Cupid's Arrow set it up," she was flustered and needed a drink to calm herself down but that wasn't going to happen until she was seated and talking with her date.

"Ah yes, Giselle Holmes, right this way. Your date is waiting for you," with that the female led her to where she would be seated. So many thoughts were racing through her mind. That was until she saw her date. He was sitting patiently waiting for her dressed in a maroon button down shirt. Neatly presented. Very attractive.

"Thank you," she thanked the female before walking toward the table hoping that she didn't trip and fall on her face, she was clumsy like that. Thankfully she made it to the table and into her seat with no trouble. "Hello there, sorry I am late." even though she wasn't late she had this automatic reflex to apologise if she kept someone waiting. "Hi, I'm Giselle," she introduced holding out her hand and waiting for him.
Micah sat at the table his eyes scanning the room and taking everything in, the small families having dinner to the couples having a romantic evening out. His eyes wandered over to the bar where he saw several men and woman standing laughing and joking holding a bottle of beer or some kind of spirit.

He turned his attention back and saw that the female that had led him to his table was coming back this time with a female following behind. A stunning female, long black hair and dressed in jeans and a really pretty dress shirt. Quickly he got up and pulled her seat out when he realised it was in fact his date. He thanked the woman and she walked off.

"Hi there," he began. "I'm Micah pleasure to meet you." he extended his hand in a welcoming gesture.

  • As the time passed, Henry began to wonder if something had happened to his date. Had she gotten injured? Had something come up? He tried not to think about it, but he was worried. Then again, maybe she was just as nervous as he had been and she was running late because the nerves were getting to her. Who could really know?

He looked up when he heard footsteps approaching, his eyes settling on the waitress from earlier before they settled on the young woman next to her. And, she was gorgeous. Her blonde locks framed her face well, bringing out her features, and Henry wondered how the company had paired him with somebody this attractive.

Realizing he was staring, he offered a small, apologetic smile as he moved to pull out her seat. "Hello. Oh, you're not late, don't worry," he assured as he took her hand and gave it a gentle shake, "It's wonderful to meet you, I'm Henry."
At first, Amelia wasn't sure what she expected of this date at all. There was a lot that could go wrong with it. Maybe her date would take one look at her and immediately be disinterested. Maybe he'd think she didn't look nice enough for a date. Or maybe he was a drunkard who was only interested in the beer the bar offered.

But, when she was greeted by the man, most of her worries washed away. He wasn't ignoring her and he was even being gentlemanly. He was really attractive, too, though that was a plus more than it was a necessity.

"Hi," she breathed before she offered a smile and nodded while she placed her hand in his. "Amelia. It's nice to meet you." She nodded once more with a quick, "Thank you" regarding the chair and moved to sit down. "You haven't been waiting long, have you? I'm sorry if you have."

Giselle felt her cheeks heat at how much of a gentleman he was being pulling out her chair for her. Who said chivalry was dead? she thought to herself as she sat in her seat she watched as he walked back around to his sitting down.

"Hello Henry. I love your name," the words tumbled from her lips before she could think about what she was really saying. "the pleasure is all mine," she quickly tried to cover her slip up. He probably thought she was a little weird now. "So the cafe seems cosy," she pointed out her eyes quickly scanning the room taking in the homeyness of it and how close the tables were, she wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing. By the end of the night she would know.

"Hello," a male voice came, "My name is Richie and I will be your waiter tonight, can I start you off with any drinks?" Richie had hair the colour of a ravens wing and eyes a bright green he looked to be late twenties, maybe early thirties.

"Yes... Can I please get a bottle of coke," she felt a little strange asking for a bottle of fizzy and not a glass of wine or something but she wasn't much of a drinker. Alcohol always tasted terrible to her no matter how sweet it was meant to be.

"Of course," he jotted down her order on his pad before turning his attention to the male across from her.
"No, not long at all," Micah assured pushing her chair in before returning to his seat. "So..." he began not sure what to say or do so he started with what came naturally. "What do you do for a living?" as soon as he said it he wanted to hit himself. It was a good question but this early on in the date. Not so good.

His attention was fully on the brunette as she seemed to be thinking over her answer. Now that he was across from her he could take in all the finer details of her face. Her eyes that were dark, the softness of her features and her lips that had a natural pout to it. She was gorgeous there was no denying. The people at Cupid's Arrow knew how to pick gorgeous people but he wasn't sure how they would bond over anything. She didn't seem like the type interested in mechanics.

  • Hearing her words brought warmth to his cheeks but Henry grinned nonetheless. "Thank you. I think your name is absolutely wonderful," he said firmly, though it was much easier to ease into the conversation than he really expected. She seemed like a nice person so far and he wondered if her personality was as wonderful as her appearance was. So far, he was definitely impressed.

When the waiter came, he offered a small nod in acknowledgment and smiled. "I'll just have a glass of water, if that's okay," he said before adding, "Thank you." His attention, however, was easily regained by Giselle and his expression softened, reflecting the kindness within him.

"It does seem cozy," he agreed, "I think the company went through a lot to make sure that we enjoy ourselves, which is a relief. I don't think I would have been able to come up with an appropriate place to have this date, honestly."
Amelia couldn't help the small grin that formed on her features when she heard his question and she ducked her head a bit as she thought over how to answer. "I work at a florist shop," she told him with a small nod, "A bunch of people think flowers are overrated, though, so we don't get much business anymore. It's nice either way, being able to take care of the flowers."

It was something she loved being able to do: being able to put so much effort into something and watching it develop into a final product. She supposed she got it from her dad, because he loved cars and loved putting them together from scratch just as much as he loved fixing them.

"What about you, though? I don't imagine you're really a flower type of guy," she joked lightly as she offered a smile.

Giselle blushed at his compliment. She normally got comments about her name but they were normally 'Oh you don't hear Giselle anymore!' 'Oh Giselle is such an old name.' 'Did your parents name you after this Disney Princess' the last one normally came from small children. Not many people complimented her name let alone called it wonderful. Giselle noticed that the male wasn't drinking alcohol either but she decided to keep that little bit to herself.

"Oh I know... I am exactly the same! I am terrible with that kind of stuff, plus work makes it a little difficult. Being in retail can really kill your nights," she spilled, which was true even though she hadn't dated for a while she remembered what it was like with her ex. So many dates had to be cancelled due to her strange working hours. When she worked he didn't and when he did she didn't it was a nightmare. She wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason the two broke up. "So what do you do for a living? I am sure it is something much more exciting then being a checkout operator." she admitted leaning forward a little in her seat waiting to hear what he was going to say.

Giselle really couldn't get over how attractive he was, he dressed nicely. Tick, he had a beautiful smile, tick, he seemed genuinely interested in her, tick. Tick, tick, tick. Sure she had only barely scratched the surface but so far she liked what she got.
Micah listened as she told him what she did for a living. When she said florist he could instantly see it, her working with heaps of beautiful coloured blossoms arranging them into bouquets for people to by.

"I disagree, I think flowers are beautiful. So much thought goes into a bouquet. The colours, the arrangements and sometimes even the meaning of the flowers that are bunched together. I'm no expert but I can appreciate them." chuckling he shook his head, "No my job isn't as bright or pretty as yours. I am a mechanic actually. Constantly covered in grease and bent over a car or under one. My dad was a mechanic and as a kid I grew up around cars which in turn caused me to have a fondness for them. Dad was constantly teaching me things about cars, by the time I was nine I was able to change a tyre, and check the oil and but twelve he had me driving and had me pulling apart engines just to have me put them back together again," Micah realised he had waffled on so quickly stopped talking.

"Sorry I really do love cars," he admitted bashfully, colour heating his neck in embarrassment. Lifting his head he saw a waiter walking toward the table.

"Good evening my name is Sarah and I am going to be your waiter tonight. Can I get you any drinks?" Sarah had blonde hair, blue eyes and a small stature but what she lacked in height she made up for with her smile.

"Uh yes, can I please get a beer."

"Certainly and for the lady?" her attention turned to Amelia.

  • Henry enjoyed hearing her talk, her voice was almost melodic and entrancing. Idly, he wondered what it'd be like to listen to her talk for hours without interruption; if he could listen to her talk as much as she so wished, he certainly would do so.

Smiling, he shook his head slightly. "I think you sell yourself short," he told her, "You have to start somewhere, even if it is something as simple as being a checkout operator. Even then, being a checkout operator has its exciting moments, I'm sure. You should take pride in it. It may not seem like much to you, but that experience will help you grow and it can help you in whatever job you decide on in the future."

Upon registering her question, though, he offered a small grin. "I'm a high school Lit teacher," he told her honestly, "But I'm dealing with uni classes online so that I can get a higher degree and become a professor at the local uni. Either way, the idea of teaching and seeing people's expressions when they learn something new is enough for me."
Amelia couldn't help but to visibly perk up when he mentioned cars. It was almost on reflex, as if she expected her father to step in any moment and ask her to join him in the garage so that she could watch him work on the cars or talk about them.

"Really?" she asked with wonder, "My father's a really big car buff. I mean, I don't know everything about cars, but I love watching people work on them and seeing them and hearing about them. I don't get to see him as much as I used to nowadays, so meeting people who love cars that much is the next best thing." She offered a small grin, though her attention got taken to the waitress as she thought over her answer.

"I think I'll have a beer, too," she decided with a nod. It wasn't really her favorite drink, but she figured she could enjoy it for the night. It wasn't like she'd complain about it either way and she really wanted to enjoy this date as much as she could, since it was already off to a good start, from what she could tell.

Giselle had never talk to her about her job like that, most of her family told her she had been in there too long and that it was a stepping stone, that she could so so much more, which in turn caused her to feel slightly bad about herself and how much she hadn't done with her life. Yet in a matter of moments Henry had made her feel better about where she works. It may not be much but at least it was something.

"Really?" she asked a wide smile spreading across her face, "I am studying to become a English teacher!" she was practically beaming when she told the male. There was something the two had in common and she had so many questions for him, however she didn't want to bombard him with them. "I take it you have a love for literature?" she asked. "Oh wow, this is so cool... How long have you been teaching for? Do you enjoy it?" the questions spitfire from her lips and she has to mentally stop and not drown the male in question but she was just so excited and happy.
Micah smiled before speaking, "You should bring your dad and come around the garage. He might be able to teach me a few things. And of course you are welcome to sit there and look pretty," he was flirting with the brunette, however he was being serious about her and her father coming to the work shop.

The dark haired male moved slightly as the woman placed their drinks down on the table. He grabbed the bottle and took a swig before speaking again. "So what made you take the survey?" he asked, "if you don't mind me asking." he hoped he wasn't being to bold with his question but he was genuinely interested as to why she had taken it. She was a beautiful woman and Micah was definitely surprised that she was in fact single.

  • Henry offered a small grin upon hearing her interest and curiosity. It made him feel better, knowing that she seemed genuine with the questions she was asking and with her excitement over the small details. Perhaps this really was something that could work out for them; they both seemed interested in each other and they could chat easily. The service certainly had done a great job in pairing them up together, because he couldn't normally talk so easily or freely with somebody like he was with Giselle.

"I'm sure you'll be a great teacher," he told her with a firm nod, though his smile remained in place as he started to answer her questions. "I do have a love of literature. I find that it helps ease my worries and it's always nice to have a chance to relax." His grin returned, though, when she asked about his teaching and he ducked his head just for a moment. "Just about two years. I really do enjoy it. I think what I enjoy most about it, though, is helping my students learn and seeing how happy they get when they understand something they were struggling to grasp."
Amelia's cheeks warmed slightly when she heard Micah flirting with her, but she couldn't really complain. Still, she smiled and arched a brow. "Do you say that because you assume I wouldn't be of any help in the garage?" she asked with curiosity, though she was mostly teasing him. She knew quite a bit when it came to cars, but it really shouldn't have been surprising, considering her father. But, then, she was sure that she could always prove herself if she had to, if only to spend time with Micah.

She blinked with surprise to his question and thought about how to answer it for a moment. "Well... It was mostly on a whim," she admitted after a moment before she reached to grab her bottle and took a sip of it. "But, I guess there was a huge part of me that was just tired of... I don't know, not finding somebody that I was actually compatible with? I wasn't really expecting the service to find somebody so quickly, really... When they called so soon, I honestly expected for them to say it was impossible to find a match."

"Thank you," a blush spread across the blondes face when Henry complimented her. She listened intently as he answered her questions. She noticed the way he lit up when he spoke about his work and what he did, he really did love it and that made Giselle's heart swell. He really was one of the sweetest men she had ever met?

"Yes, that must be very rewarding, and I bet you are a favourite among the students... Another question for you? What is your favourite Shakespearian play?" Giselle was genuinely interested in hearing about the plays others loved all of her friends liked Romeo and Juliet but she was curious to see if Henry's answer was going to be different.
"No, no of course not!" Micha spluttered quickly. "Just... uh..." it was then he realised she was teasing him and instantly a smile spread across his face, "Maybe you could, show off the skills you possess when it comes to working with a car."

Micha nodded his head as he listened, he understood what she was saying especially about not being able to find someone compatible, he had been struggling with that issue for years, never able to find someone that was willing to give as much as they took. There was no happy medium. Instead most of the women he had been in relationships with were all greedy, or wanting of him. They wanted his money but they didn't want him to have to work. They wanted him to themselves but they were able to flirt with others. In the end Micha decided to take a break for a while just to see what might happen next, and here he is.

  • Henry offered a smile and shook his head. "You don't have to thank me," he assured her. He was certain he was right, after all. As long as that was the case, there wasn't a reason to thank him. Generally, he figured it was only really necessary to be grateful if you were uncertain that what the person who complimented you was true or not or if you wholly believed that it was a lie.

He hummed quietly, thinking over what she had said. "Possibly. I guess it depends on the students. I don't know much about the rest of the teachers, either, so they could very well be just as invested in their students' futures as I am," he told her with a smile, though he arched an eyebrow to her question and though about which play of Shakespeare's he liked most. "Probably Hamlet," he decided, "It's a little dark, but... It's something that's hard to mimic in books or even movies. The story is unique."
Amelia smiled slightly and offered a small nod in response. "I'm sure I have a lot to learn, but I at least know enough to get by," she hummed out quietly before she took a sip of her drink and grinned. It was fairly easy to talk to Micah and she hadn't really expected that to be the case. She had expected a lot of awkwardness that generally came with first dates, but... This was nice.

Leaning forward so that her arms rested lightly on the table, she eyed him for a moment or so. "Since you now know why I took the survey, what about you? Why'd you take it?" she asked with curiosity. She couldn't see any reason why anybody wouldn't be with this man if it was so easy to talk to him. Plus, he was attractive and had a sense of humor. He seemed pretty much perfect to her. Because of this, she found it difficult to imagine a suitable reason as to why he'd have to take a survey to find somebody for himself.

"I am sure to majority of the female population you are their favourite teacher," He was handsome, friendly and an English teacher. If she had a teacher like him in her school years he would have most definitely been her favourite. Even though it would have been frowned upon, flirty would have been a daily occurrence.

"Really, Hamlet? Wow I never would have guessed that. Did you know Disney's The Lion King is a retelling of Hamlet?" she blurted suddenly regretting it. She most certainly sounded like a nerd now. "Ah yeah... that's true... See I have read both Hamlet, Macbeth and King Lear and out of all of them... I don't like any of them." she stated playfully. "Nor am I a fan of Romeo and Juliet... I mean it is okay... but... A Midsummer Nights Dream has to be my all time favourite!" She smiled. She loved the play and she loved the movie, had since high school where she was made to read the lines of Helena.

"Hello," Richie appeared beside the two. "Are you two ready to order?" Giselle had been so wrapped up in Henry that she hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu. Quickly she grabbed one of the menus and began scanning the meals.

"Can I please get a serving of your atlantic salmon please," it had been a while since she had even touched seafood and tonight was a special occasion so why not spoil herself, seeing as she had been spoiled with the company she had been given.

"Of course ma'am, and you sir?"
Micha quickly took a swig of his drink before clearing his throat, he had suddenly become shy and awkward. "Uh well..." he paused briefly before looking up at the dark haired female who was seated across from her, she was stunning and he found himself spilling out his reason with such ease.

"Mine is kinda the same reason as you, I entered not thinking I would ever get chosen. But I have had a hard time finding love. I just found that every relationship I had started with sort of fizzled out, we're both to blame sometimes I struggled to find a connection with her and her with me. The worst one though was when I started dating a girl but the only reason she dated me was to get with a friend of mine. So that hurt but I suppose you have to go through heartbreak before finding the right one hey?" he paused. "Plus I work a lot, my hours are long and I work five days so normally on the weekend I am not really up to partying, instead I just want to zone out with a few quiet drinks and a movie. I am not big on going out...But anyways that was why I signed up for this." he stated smiling.

"Hi guys, are you ready to order?" Sarah appeared a pad in her hands and a kind smile spread across her face.

"Oh yeah that's right. Food. Just a sec," grabbing the menu he began to scan the meals. "Can I get a serving of your porterhouse stake, can I get it medium-well done please,"

"Of course you can, and for you?" her attention turned to Amelia the smile never leaving her lips.

  • (Since I have no idea what they should order, I'm just going to generalize their orders, aha.)

Henry chuckled at the mention of it and shrugged slightly. "Well, if that's the case, they're at least subtle about it. I'm sure they gossip just as any girl their ages would," he said simply, because he found it difficult to believe any of his students would show unnecessary interest in him. It would cause problems for him if that were the case.

"I did know that," he confirmed with a nod. "A Midsummer Night's Dream is an interesting choice. It shows a different side to Shakespeare's writing, compared to his other, more angst-filled works. It definitely allows a comedic relief, which makes it an important piece." He smiled slightly, figuring that it made sense that she would like it; it was definitely different.

When he was asked to order, he wasted little time in ordering what he wanted, though he returned his attention to her. "What about A Midsummer Night's Dream draws you to it?" he asked her.
Amelia smiled slightly and nodded in understanding. "I guess that's life, then?" she mentioned after a moment. "It takes a lot for you to be able to find somebody that you can find a genuine connection with. At least the opportunity is always available, though, so there's always a next in life until you find the last."

She was surprised that he had opened up so much, but, honestly, it made him more attractive to her. They could actually converse with each other, it seemed. And, beyond that, if things worked out, she wouldn't have to worry about telling him any of her concerns and he hopefully wouldn't, either.

Ah, she was getting ahead of herself. Shaking the thought away, she smiled and went ahead to order her own meal.
