"Stop the car. " Scott McCall spoke. Stiles looked to his friend with a raised eyebrow before chuckling some in a sarcastic manner, continuing his actions. The pair was returning home after an out of town lacrosse game. "I can't just stop the car in the middle of rush hour, Scott. " Stiles replied. It was midday, and the duo were following behind the team bus. Apparently, something felt off to Scott, as he became determined for Stiles to stop driving his jeep. After brief banter, the human complied, and they ended up in the parking lot of a motel.
Stiles looked between his friend, and the motel before him. Scott briefly explained why he asked Stiles to change course so abruptly. Reaching into his backpack on the back seat, Stiles took out a pencil and held it before Scott. "You see this? This is you now. " He started. A sharp crack was then heard as Stiles broke the pencil. "And this is you after getting your ass kicked by a pack of killer Alphas. " He finished.
After a few moments of silence, Scott stepped out of the car. Stiles rolled his eyes as he placed his hand on his forehead. "Why do I even - Scott!" He called out in a hushed whisper before stepping out of his jeep and following suit.
Stiles stood, leaning against the stair railing looking towards Scott as he attempted to slow his heart rate. "My friend has officially lost his mind. " Stiles mumbled to himself before looking at Scott ; who was currently going door to door, searching for the scent.
Hunters. A word that was feared amongst the supernatural residents of Beacon Hills. Some followed the rules, others didn't. But there was a new kind of hunters on the horizon. One that was rare, and went against the traditional views. Instead of hunting for safety or sport, this group was set on protecting the supernatural, feeling it would be more productive to be allies instead of enemies. That group was the Hayes family. The family had become known to Beacon Hills for their normalcy, and their reputation. The father, was a doctor. Providing medical care to those who couldn't afford it. The mother, a lawyer who would only work probono, and lastly was their daughter, Payton, who had just graduated before they left town.
Some years later, the family has returned. The town had been in the news recently, airing about numerous deaths that had been happening frequently. Due to their knowledge of the town, they had to come back to investigate. Payton didn't mind that fact, as she would be able to get reacquainted with old friends. They just couldn't know her reasoning for coming back.
'Finally.' The young woman thought to herself after she finished unpacking the last box. She found it amazing, that with all the supernatural beings in this town, there wasn't a spell or at least an easier way for unpacking. Looking at her watch, Payton decided to go grab a bite before she started her training, however that idea was quickly vanquished as a knock was heard at the door.
With a raised eyebrow, Payton padded towards the front door. She found it odd that someone was visiting. Her family purposely lived closer to the preserve so that they would be able to keep an eye on things, but also not draw attention of the human kind. With a light creek, the front door opened. The sight before her had her a bit taken aback,
he was the last person she'd expect to see, especially so soon. "Derek? " She said, it coming out as a question however, as she stepped outside of the house.
