    (I hope this is okay!)

It never felt safe anymore. No matter how distance she put between herself and her alpha, Amelia still felt on edge and afraid. The alpha had been turning children for years and several hadn't survived the bite. Moreover, he'd become more and more abusive over the years and it drove Amelia to fear for her own life. She'd fled and had tried to convince others to do the same, but most of the other members of the pack blindly followed the alpha, having immense loyalty for him because he saved them from the streets and orphanages.

Part of her wished that she had never agreed to becoming part of his family back then, especially since she hadn't known what it entailed. Being a werewolf in a pack full of unstable members and a cruel alpha wasn't something she ever imagined for her life. It was another reason she had fled: she wanted to get away from that life and start anew.

It was how she found herself in Beacon Hills, but she could smell that it was full of other werewolves as well. That would either work in or against her favor, but she hoped it wouldn't cause too many problems.

Looking around, she made her way back to the motel she was staying in, though she hoped to avoid catching any attention. Slipping into her room, she set the snacks she'd bought down and started eating.
The threat of the alpha pack had Derek tense and on edge, his nerves making it difficult to focus on much aside from training his pack. He didn't want them to fall to the alpha pack, nor did he want the alpha pack to think that they were invincible. His pack wasn't weak and he refused to think that the alpha pack would get whatever they wanted. Sighing, he rubbed the back of his neck and rolled his shoulders in an attempt to work out the kinks from the stress he felt. He'd likely meet with his pack later to get back to training, but it still bothered him.

For now, he left his loft to wander around, though he mostly thought about what to do about the pack. He'd recently heard a rumor that the Hayes family had returned or was returning to Beacon Hills, but he didn't know whether it was true or not. In the past, he'd been good friends with Payton, so he was admittedly curious as to whether it was true.

Before he even realized what he was doing, his attention had fallen on searching for any member of the Hayes family's scent. It hadn't taken long to recognize one and it surprised him but he was quick to begin to follow the scent.

He wasn't sure how long he had walked for, but he soon came to a stop at a house. Staring at it, he eyed it for a moment before he made his way to the door and knocked on it. To think that the Hayes family really was back felt surreal, so he wasn't sure how to feel about this.

"Stop the car. " Scott McCall spoke. Stiles looked to his friend with a raised eyebrow before chuckling some in a sarcastic manner, continuing his actions. The pair was returning home after an out of town lacrosse game. "I can't just stop the car in the middle of rush hour, Scott. " Stiles replied. It was midday, and the duo were following behind the team bus. Apparently, something felt off to Scott, as he became determined for Stiles to stop driving his jeep. After brief banter, the human complied, and they ended up in the parking lot of a motel.

Stiles looked between his friend, and the motel before him. Scott briefly explained why he asked Stiles to change course so abruptly. Reaching into his backpack on the back seat, Stiles took out a pencil and held it before Scott. "You see this? This is you now. " He started. A sharp crack was then heard as Stiles broke the pencil. "And this is you after getting your ass kicked by a pack of killer Alphas. " He finished.

After a few moments of silence, Scott stepped out of the car. Stiles rolled his eyes as he placed his hand on his forehead. "Why do I even - Scott!" He called out in a hushed whisper before stepping out of his jeep and following suit.

Stiles stood, leaning against the stair railing looking towards Scott as he attempted to slow his heart rate. "My friend has officially lost his mind. " Stiles mumbled to himself before looking at Scott ; who was currently going door to door, searching for the scent.

Hunters. A word that was feared amongst the supernatural residents of Beacon Hills. Some followed the rules, others didn't. But there was a new kind of hunters on the horizon. One that was rare, and went against the traditional views. Instead of hunting for safety or sport, this group was set on protecting the supernatural, feeling it would be more productive to be allies instead of enemies. That group was the Hayes family. The family had become known to Beacon Hills for their normalcy, and their reputation. The father, was a doctor. Providing medical care to those who couldn't afford it. The mother, a lawyer who would only work probono, and lastly was their daughter, Payton, who had just graduated before they left town.

Some years later, the family has returned. The town had been in the news recently, airing about numerous deaths that had been happening frequently. Due to their knowledge of the town, they had to come back to investigate. Payton didn't mind that fact, as she would be able to get reacquainted with old friends. They just couldn't know her reasoning for coming back.

'Finally.' The young woman thought to herself after she finished unpacking the last box. She found it amazing, that with all the supernatural beings in this town, there wasn't a spell or at least an easier way for unpacking. Looking at her watch, Payton decided to go grab a bite before she started her training, however that idea was quickly vanquished as a knock was heard at the door.

With a raised eyebrow, Payton padded towards the front door. She found it odd that someone was visiting. Her family purposely lived closer to the preserve so that they would be able to keep an eye on things, but also not draw attention of the human kind. With a light creek, the front door opened. The sight before her had her a bit taken aback, he was the last person she'd expect to see, especially so soon. "Derek? " She said, it coming out as a question however, as she stepped outside of the house.
