Harley shivered as she stood outside. It was dark, cold, and just a bit too quiet. Normally her brother Justin would be the one to score for her but he was in jail and her stash ran out. Her long red hair blew in the chilly Chicago wind as her phone beeped. She looked down and bit her lip, ignoring the call.

Adam sat at his desk, twirling his phone in his hand. Erin was in Voights office, both of them with on their phones. He looked over at Jay who was on his computer. "Hey what do you think they're doing in there? You think we got a case?"

Erin sighed softly as she slid her phone back into her pocket, “Harley still isn’t answering. She hasn’t spoken to me since Justin was arrested,” She told Hank as she rested her hand on her hip, she was close to all the Voight siblings as she grew up with them. But things did become strained when Justin got Harley hooked on his way of life, that was something Erin couldn’t forgive as she had been in that life once and hadn’t looked back. She wanted to help Harley, but she knew if she pushed Harley or pressured her than that would only make things worse.

Grace on the other hand had stayed away from the drinking and drugs, which Erin was thankful for. “I’ve heard whispers already, are you sure Grace is up to working here?” She asked knowing that Hank had put a transfer in for his daughter, Erin knew Grace wanted to come back home after she graduated from the Academy in New York City.
Jay glanced away from his computer screen as he was finishing off writing up a case file, his eyes moved to where he could see Voight and Erin. “When it comes to those two, when do we ever know what’s going on? If they had a case, they’d be out here talking to us.” Jay had observed enough to know that when Erin was in Voight’s office, they weren’t talking about work or the next case. It never bothered Jay, it wasn’t any of his business and he knew the history between the two. As long as it didn’t affect the work or put him in danger, he was fine not knowing what they were talking about.

“Have you guys heard the latest gossip?” Jay asked as he couldn’t stand gossip in a workplace, but this was did interest him. “About Grace joining us?” He had only met Voight’s daughter once, but it was enough for him to know that she was a good person and with who her father was she’d be one hell of a police officer. He hasn’t met the other two siblings, and Hank never really mentioned them.
Grace climbed out of her parked car, pulling her coat closer to her body as she hurried across the street. She had already seen a man lurking around the corner, Justin’s dealer. But her brother wasn’t the one who was waiting, it was her younger twin sister. “What are you doing, Harley?” She spoke in a hushed voice, not that there were many people about. It was too cold for them to be walking along the streets, looking at her sister Grace felt guilty for letting Harley get involved in this life. She was supposed to protect her sister and keep her safe, so far she’s done a shit job at that.

“Let’s go home, it’s too cold to be out here.” Grace’s guard was up, she wouldn’t let the dealer know she was a rookie cop. She didn’t have a badge or handcuffs or a gun yet, she couldn’t do anything to arrest the smug that was praying on her siblings. But she did have her dad on speed dial if anything got out of hand.

Harley bit her lip as she looked at her sister. They were twins, technically fraternal twins because they weren't identical, but they shared the same blue eyes and blonde hair. At least... naturally blonde. Harley had dyed hers red a while back and she loved it. What you could clearly tell, was how their personalities clashe'd. Grace was a little bit more.... feminine was the word maybe? Sure she was a cop like their dad but still... she was what you'd expect the popular girl in school to be. Harley on the other hand was what you'd expect from the drop outs. Dark, heavy makeup, dark clothes, bright red hair, tattoos scattered about, and a few extra piercings. Nothing extreme... the nose... two on each ear and an industrial on her left ear.... and as an extra bonus, she was as hooked on drinking and drugs as her brother was.

Harley sighed, muttering to the dealer she'd have to catch him later. No matter what she never let her sister see her buy or do a any drugs... not because of her being a cop either... but because she didn't want Grace to see her that way. "I guess... Lindsay called me again." She stated, turning away from the man.
"Grace will do just fine. It's Harley I'm worried about. She hasn't spoken to me in months, Justin was the one who was keeping tabs on her. Since he's been gone I haven't heard a word." Hank sighed, rubbing his head

Looking down at his phone he shook his head, and spoke quietly. "Keep trying. I think if I can get her here... with one of you... we might be able to turn her around... i just don't know who."
Adam looked up from his desk, eyebrow cocked. "Wait Grace? Isn't she the one who was in tight with Justin? How'd she become a cop? He questioned, confused on how the girl he remembered who came out of Voights office yelling and screaming was now a cop.

"Unless I'm thinking of the wrong person... petite girl... blue eyes, red hair? Am I wrong?" He asked. Now, Adam knew hank had three kids, but he only ever saw one of them. The redhead.

Erin looked at the older man in front of her, “Maybe now that Grace is back. She might be able to get through to her, you remember how torn Grace was to leave Harley.” She spoke before listening to what Hank was saying, “You want one of us to help her? It could work, but I’ve already tried.” She glanced back over her shoulder, looking through the glass wall of Voight’s office her eyes moved over the team.

None of them really stood out to her, Antonio has enough on his plate and Olinsky would probably be too hard on Harley. Erin believed the feisty redhead needed tough love, but she felt Olinsky would unknowingly push her too far. Ruzek didn’t have that much experience dealing with addiction so that really only left Jay, “What about Jay? I trust him,” Erin looked back to Hank.
Jay chuckled softly as he shook his head, “Wrong daughter. That’s Harley… I think,” He wasn’t certain if that was her name or not, he had only briefly heard Erin mention the youngest Voight child a few times and he never asked about her because he didn’t want Hank to kill him. “The older twin is the cop,” He did know the girls were twins and that Justin was the oldest, but that’s really all he knew. He never had a reason to ask about Hank’s children until now, he just hoped that Grace wasn’t exactly like her father.
“Yeah, because we’re worried about you. You haven’t returned any of Dad’s calls, he’s worried.” Grace told her sister as she watched the dealer hurry away from them, “You know I could arrest him. I can do that now,” Every time she saw a drug dealer she wanted to take them down, it reminded her that she hadn’t been able to keep her siblings safe and away from the temptations that were out there in the world.

“How about we go see Dad now? He’s still at work and I’ll get to see where I’ll be working now,” She looked at her sister as they headed across the street to her parked car, quickly climbing in and blasting the heat so they wouldn’t stay cold. “I’ve missed you,” Grace had hated being in New York, she loved the city and training there but she hated being away from her family. Away from her twin who needed her support, but it had been Harley who had convinced her to go.

"Grace no... I don't want to see dad. You can go but I'm not going inside." Harley shook her head stubbornly. On the ride to the station she stayed silent, staring out the window. She had once been just like Grace... but after their mother had passed away she fell in too deep with Justin and his friends. Before it had been out of grief... now it was addiction, mixed with grief.

Harley knew her sister wouldn't let her just sit in the car but she had to at least try. Sure it'd be nice to see Erin again, but the last time she had seen her father she said some not so nice things to him. She went to him for money, he refused knowing what she'd use it for, she called him every name in the book and told him she wished it had been him instead. She didn't specify but then again she didn't have to. He knew.
Hank pursed his lips, looking out the window at Jay who was tapping away at his computer. She had a point. He trusted Al more but he'd be too hard on Harley.... he might push her too far. Adam couldn't handle it, Antonio had enough on his plate, and Erin had already tried.

"Alright you got a point. Let's get her here first. Then I will talk to Halstead." He nodded, glancing down at his phone. Grace was supposed to be stopping by but he wasn't sure when.
"Wait hold up, Voight has twins? How did I not here about this??" Adam questioned. Sure he was still the new guy but honestly twins were hot, no matter who their father was, and he was shocked no one had mentioned it yet.

"Don't get any bright ideas. You won't get within 5 feet of either. If Voight doesn't kill you... Erin will." Olinsky piped up from his desk, hidden away in the corner.

Erin nodded her head, she really hoped this worked. With Justin in jail, there wasn’t anyone that could watch over Harley on a regular basis. She was worried that Harley would either get in too deep with a dealer she didn’t know or she’d be sold bad drugs, so many things could happen and Erin knew that first hand. But would Jay even agree to this? It would be hard on him if he did agree to at least try to help get Harley clean, but she knew him and knew the type of guy he was.

Her phone buzzed causing her to pull it back out, this time a smile spread across her face at the text message she received. “Grace is here,” Was all she said before she was briskly walking out of the room, she rushed downstairs to the foyer but stopped in her tracks when she saw the familiar red hair. “You’re both here, it’s so good to see you.” Erin gushed as she wrapped her arms around both the twins at the same time, she didn’t care if the twins were getting looks from the other officers. She was just happy to see them again, “Come on.” She smiled as she took the twins upstairs, but stopped Harley outside in the hallway. “Are you really okay?” Erin asked with concern in her eyes.
Jay laughed softly at Olinsky’s comment but it was true, “And I’ve seen Erin on a bad day. She’s scary when she’s in a mood,” He grinned as he finished the report he was writing, he saved it before he sent the document to the printer. Leaning back in his chair he watched as Erin rushed off somewhere, his eyes moved over to Hank and he swore he saw a smile on his face.

But he couldn’t be certain because he’s never seen Hank smile, “You better keep your hands to yourself buddy.” He grinned over at Adam, Jay was just starting to like the guy. He didn’t want to get a new rookie on the team, as Adam was beginning to prove himself that this is where he belonged and wanted to be.
Grace parked her car and looked at her sister, “Just come in. You can see Erin and I’ll keep Dad distracted, besides I’m not leaving my car running so it’s going to get cold in here.” She told Harley before she climbed out, she tried to hide her smile when her sister following. Walking into the station together, Grace sent Erin a quick text to say that she had arrived and a minute later she was taking them upstairs to the room where her new team was. Grace was nervous, this was her first actual police job and she didn’t want to mess up. Grace gave Harley’s hand a reassuring squeeze before she walked through the doors, her eyes scanned over Olinsky and Antonio first. She already knew them really well and couldn’t wait to work with them, she saw Jay next and remembered meeting him once but Erin trusted him.

Then there was another guy, she didn’t know him but he was hot. She smiled as she made her way over to her dad, she wrapped her arms around him tightly. “Hi Dad,” She whispered as she held onto him, she had always been a daddy’s girl while Harley was closer to their mom. It felt right being there, back with her family and the city she loved.

Harley sighed, pouting to herself as she gave in. She should've known better than to suggest staying outside in the car. Grace acted as though she were the older of the two, even though it was actually Harley. Harley was born 34 minutes before her sister, making her the technical middle child. Dispite this, she had always been the closest with their mother. When their mom passed away, Harley took it the hardest. She blamed the doctors, blamed her father, even her mother, but she never once blamed her siblings. To her, they lost a mother too.

When Erin approached the two girls she couldn't help but feel some joy inside seeing Erin. Harley looked down when Erin asked if she was alright... how did she answer that? Less than thirty minutes ago she was alone in the cold with a drug dealer. "Yea I'm alright... just a bit chilly I guess." She shrugged
Adam's eyes widened as a blonde girl passed by. He watched as she sized up the room, she looked confident but nervous all at the same time. She walked straight into Voights office and Adam noticed immediately the joy on Voights facr. It was quite unusual seeing him so happy.

"So THAT'S Grace?" He questioned, looking over at the other men in the room. The girl that passed by was gorgeous, but moments later Lindsay walked in with a second girl with bright red hair who looked like hell.
"Hey baby girl, you were supposed to call me when you got in!" Hank smiled as he engulfed his daughter in a hug. He was glad to have his little girl back. Not only could he keep better care of her, but she could keep an eye on Harley. And then he'd have both of his girls back.

"Have you seen your sister today?" He questioned. He hated that he was turning all attention to Harley so quickly, but he couldn't help but worry.

Erin knew the look in Harley’s eyes perfectly, and she could only imagine what the redhead had been doing before her sister found her. “You know I’m always here for you,” Erin assured her as she gave Harley another hug, the twins were family to her. The entire Voight family were Erin’s family, she’d do anything for them. “Come inside, Antonio and Olinsky would love to see you again.” She smiled softly knowing better than to bring up her dad, she remembered the fight they had the last time they saw each other.

Hopefully there wouldn’t be another repeat of that day, this was meant to be a good night. Grace was back home and was starting her new job with them tomorrow, she just wanted things to run smoothly. Walking into the room with Harley, she made sure to keep an eye on her.
Jay shook his head as he grabbed the report from the printer and leaned against his desk, “That’s Grace and if I were you. I still wouldn’t bother getting any ideas,” He warned Adam before he looked over when Erin came into the room, a girl was beside her and she looked like shit. If he hadn’t known she was Grace’s twin, he wouldn’t have guessed it. Until he noticed her eyes which she shared with her sister, but the red hair was pretty out there but did suit her.

“Hey, you must be Harley. I’m Jay,” He introduced himself to her as she looked uncomfortable standing there, he also wanted to get in first in case anything got out of hand between the Voight family.
“I know but I wanted to surprise you,” Grace smiled as she felt safe in her dad’s arms, she always felt safe when he was there and she missed that while she was away. She nodded lightly to his question, “Yeah. She’s out there with Erin,” She told him as she knew he worried about Harley, but Grace would never admit to anyone that she often felt jealousy towards her siblings. They always had their father’s attention, even if it wasn’t for a good reason. Grace knew it was stupid to think and feel like that, but she couldn’t help it. He was always trying to help Justin and Harley, get them clean and to a good place in their lives.

She felt like her family sometimes forgot that she was still there. “Please go easy on her, Dad.” She begged as she looked at him, she didn’t want to deal with another argument. She hated when her family fought and there was nothing that she could do, but try to calm them all down.

"Grace, I'm not gonna fight with your sister. I promise." Hank said. He was telling the truth - he didn't have it in him to fight with Harley, he was too scared she'd run off again and this time he'd never see her again. He looked up just as Erik walked in, with Harley trailing behind her. Seeing his daughter looking like that made him feel like he had just been punched in the gut.

"You wanna set up your new desk tonight? I can introduce you to everyone." He stated, raising his hand towards the door. Hank watched as Jay introduced himself to Harley and nodded to himself. Jay would be the one to help her.
Adam's stood, moving forward to shake the girls hand. "Hey, I'm Adam." He gave her a smile, moving back to his seat, letting Antonio and Olinsky give the girl hugs. He wasn't too interested in her... despite the fact that she was his bosses daughter, she seemed like the type who wouldn't be around for long.

His smile grew as Voight walked out of his office with the other girl, Grace. He couldn't stop himself from thinking about how gorgeous she was. Her blonde hair flowed behind her, and her eyes were an icy blue. If she was going to be working with them, he wouldn't be putting up too much of a fight.
Harley gave Jay a small smile, thankful he didn't just ignore her. Of course now she was self conscious of how she looked... probably like hell considering she'd be jonesing for about a week before she had been able to find someone willing to sell to her. She knew her father had contacts all over town that were stopping her. She didn't acknowledge Adam as much, just shook his hand and nodded. Al and Antonio hugged her, finally someone she knew. Al had been like an uncle for most of her life, seeing him again felt comfortable.

But as Grace walked out of the office with their father Harley froze, chewing on her lip as she had been earlier. Neither of the two moved, just staring each other down... assessing the situation. Finally Hank moved towards his daughter, engulfing her in a hug. Harley's arms wrapped around her father tightly as she tried to keep her tears at bay. She didn't want to cry in front of all these people.

Jay watched as everything unfolded before him, he sent a smile over to Grace as a greeting. He wasn’t overly surprised when Hank took his daughter into his arms and just held her, from the looks of things it must have been a while since the two saw each other. Straightening up he moved over to the pot of coffee and poured a cup, he carried the steaming mug over to Harley and looked at her. “Thought you might like this,” He told her as she looked like she needed it, she did look rough but he wasn’t going to say anything about it. She didn’t look all that comfortable being there with Adam and himself, which he understood as she didn’t know either of them.

Setting the mug down on Al’s desk as that was where she was standing, he glanced at Hank as Jay hadn’t seen his boss like this before. He had seen Hank get protective over Erin, but this was different. This was his own daughter, it was more special or so Jay assumed. “Are you hungry? We could order something in,” He suggested as he took a step back, he didn’t want to crowd around the redhead and make her any more uncomfortable.
Grace smiled at Erin when her dad and sister embraced each other, her smile widened when Antonio and Al hugged her tightly. She had missed them, especially Al. She had grown up with him always being in her life, he was family to her. Al showed her over to her desk which was in between Erin’s and the guy she didn’t know, so she placed her handbag down onto the desk which just made it all seem real. She was excited to start her new job tomorrow, she couldn’t wait until she could start helping the team take down criminals. But before she could she wanted to know everyone on her team, so she stepped over to the guy who she found attractive.

“Hi, I’m Grace.” She looked at him as she held her hand out for him to shake, she was interested in getting to know him more. And Jay, she wanted to talk to him as well. But right now he was trying to make her sister comfortable being there, although their dad had helped when he had hugged her and didn’t yell at her.

“Jay why don’t you take Harley to get something to eat and then come back, my treat.” Hank stated, noticing immediately that Jay was taking to his daughter. He could tell that he was trying to make her feel comfortable, which made him feel satisfied with his decision to have him get her clean. “Harls, go get something to eat and we’ll talk when you get back okay? I wanna help Grace get her stuff together.” He stated, kissing his daughter’s forehead, handing her a hundred-dollar bill.

Harley nodded, slightly surprised her dad was so willing to give her money like that. Especially after the last time she had asked for some. Harley looked over at the man that introduced himself as Jay… for some reason she felt comfortable around him…. He calmed her somehow. “If that’s okay with you?” she questioned, looking him in the eyes
Adam looked up at Grace, shocked she had come up to him and introduced herself. “Hey, I’m Adam. Adam Ruzek.” He smiled at her, shaking her hand. “I hear you’re the newbie now. It’s nice not to have that title anymore.” He joked. Something about this girl made him want to get to know her. Things with his fiancée hadn’t worked out and they spilt up a few weeks ago, what he didn’t want was for everyone to think he was trying to hook up with every girl he laid eyes on.

Adam noticed as Al leaned forward, and immediately braced himself for the smartass comment coming from the older man. “Actually Ruzek, she’s known everyone here except Halstead for ages. You’re still the newbie.” He smirked and Adam rolled his eyes “Fine, how about rookie.” He recanted, shaking his head.

Jay looked at Harley after Hank moved away from them, “Of course it’s okay with me. Hank’s never shouted me anything,” He grinned as he grabbed his jacket from his desk and pulled it on, “There’s a good diner down the road.” He suggested as he was a little shocked that Hank had so easily given him permission to take his daughter out to grab some food, he had been expecting Hank to be the over protective father that he always thought he would be. Maybe he was and for some reason he trusted Jay, although he wasn’t certain that was it.

Once Harley nodded her head, Jay guided her back downstairs and out of the station. He walked with her over to his car because it was too cold for them to walk to the diner, climbing into his car he started the engine and turned the heating on before pulling out onto the street. “I reckon we should take full advantage of Hank’s offer, and buy all the food we can eat.” He chuckled softly as this never happened, at least not to him so he wasn’t going to waste it.
Grace smiled at Al’s comment, “I’m fine with being the rookie.” She looked at Adam, deep down she knew better than to date someone on the team but she couldn’t help but find Adam hot. “But if it’ll make you feel better, then I can be the newbie.” She smiled at Adam as she didn’t care if she had a title, she was just happy to be on the team and doing something that made a difference in the city she loved. She glanced over her shoulder in time to see that Halstead was taking Harley away, she wasn’t sure where they were going and Grace wasn’t sure how she felt about it as she wanted to spend more time with her twin sister.

Grace looked over at her Dad when he walked over, “Everything okay with Harley?” She asked him as she was tempted to follow her sister, just to make sure she was okay. She knew that if Erin trusted Halstead than so could she, but she still didn’t know the guy and Harley meant the world to her. She needed her twin sister more than anything, they were parts of each other.

Adam smiled at the girl as he sat on the corner of his desk. He watched as Jay and Harley walled out the door and his eyebrows raised. Hadn't Jay just warned him about messing with Voight's daughters? What was he thinking. Though it did give him a bit of reassurance that maybe Grace was SO FAR out of his league.

Hank smiled slightly, nodding at his daughter. He loved how protective of Harley Grace was. “Yea, everything is fine. Jay took your sister to get something to eat. She looked starving. And to be 100% honest with you… I trust Jay. I think hanging around him will help clean her up.” He explained, careful to keep quiet. If this was gonna work he had to keep it quiet- no one could find out. Not even Jay. If he knew then he'd push and he can't push.
Harley bit her lip as she walked out the door with Jay, who opened the door for her. She was shocked but she smiled and thanked him, getting into his car. As he spoke, Harley couldn't help but feel self conscious about how she looked. Jay was very well put together and she knew she looked like she'd been through the ringer a time or two. To be far she wasn't planning on going to eat... she was planning on scoring and going home.

"My dad is footing the bill... don't you think we should bring back food for him and Grace? Erin too... I'm sure they're hungry." Harley rambled on as he drove, picking at her nails.

Jay grinned as he drove his car, if she wanted to bring food back for her family then he was fine with that. “We can take back whatever food they’ll like,” He agreed with her as he glanced over at her, she seemed even more uncomfortable now that they were alone. “I hope I’m not making you too uncomfortable, we don’t even have to talk if you don’t want to. We can just eat and head back to the station,” He suggested to Harley as he had no idea what was going through her mind, and he honestly didn’t want to. Women still confused the heck out of him, but he hated when people felt like they couldn’t be themselves around him.

Once he parked his car in front of the diner, he climbed back out into the cold and locked his car once Harley had climbed out as well. He hurried towards the front door of the diner and held the door open for the red head, he had been raised to be a gentleman by his parents and it was something that just stuck with him. “It’s so cold tonight,” He followed Harley into the diner and allowed her to pick out which booth she wanted to sit at.
Grace gave her dad a very unimpressed look, “Dad. Are you sure about this? I don’t know him, what if he can’t be trusted?” She was pretty sure that she Jay worked with her dad and Erin, then he was probably a decent guy. But she still didn’t know the guy, so she wasn’t going to agree with her dad’s plan until she knew for certain that her twin sister would be safe while Jay was around her. She signed softly when her dad just assured her that it would work out before he changed the subject onto her new desk, “I’ve only brought a few things with me. I wasn’t really sure what I should bring with me,” A smile formed on her lips as she moved over to her new desk, she pulled out two small photo frames from her bag.

One was a family photo and the other was a portrait of her mom, then she pulled out some pens and a journal in case she needed to take notes. That was all she brought with her as she’s never had a desk before so she didn’t know what else she would need, “I’m guessing you haven’t worked here for long. Are you enjoying it?” She asked Adam as she looked at him, she hoped that he wouldn’t distract her too much while on the job.

Adam nodded, looking over the things she had out. "I've been in here for a few months, not many. But it's nice, the people in the unit are great and you're nothing without your team. You're dads great to work for too." He smiled, throwing a hockey sack like ball in the air and catching it. He repeated the action a few times before catching it and tossing it over to Antonio, who caught it with ease.

"What about you. How long have you been a cop?" He questioned, smiling at her. Voight chuckled, raising his eyebrows "You don't have to suck up just cause shes my daughter Ruzek." He stated, catching the balland tossing it back to Ruzek, who looked at his boss in shock.
Harley felt bad once he asked her about feeling uncomfortable, knowing exactly why it seemed that way. "No no, it's not you. To be 100% honest it's cause I know how horrible I look.... i look like a mess...." She stated, biting her lip. She followed him inside and picked a booth near the back, where there weren't a lot of other people.

"I'll be right back." She stated, gesturing to the bathroom not too far from wheren they sat. She walked in and searched through her purse, thankful she still had the stupid compact brush she got when she was younger. Grace had insisted she'd need it and has much as Harley hated to admit it, her sister was right. It came in handy.

Harley quickly brushed the knots out of her hair and pulled it off her face as she washed the old makeup off. Looking in the bathroom mirror, Harley bit her lip again, reapplying eyeliner and her lipstick. She could go out without the full face... but she felt naked without those two.Glancing at her appearance, Harley nodded, she looked much more like herself... just with bags under her eyes. She had grabbed her brothers oversized jacket so she pulled that off to reveal much nicer fitting clothes, with a top that hugged all the right places and had a well placed v neck that left just enough to the imagination. She still looked off, but at least she was presentable now. Once satisfied with how she looked, Harley grabbed her bag and her coat and walked back into the booth, sliding in across from Jay.

Jay grinned to himself as he watched Harley leave so she could use the bathroom, she was uncomfortable because she thought she looked rough. It made him grin because he had seen much worse and he hadn’t even noticed, sure she looked tired and looked like she wanted another high and her hair was a mess. But that didn’t change how beautiful she was. So he just waited until she returned and he couldn’t help but let his eyes move down to the cleavage that her shirt was now showing, but he caught himself and quickly looked away before she noticed where he was staring.

“You honestly didn’t even look that bad before, you were pretty then and you’re pretty now.” Yes, Voight would kill him for calling his daughter pretty but she was and he highly doubted Harley would run back to her father and tell him. He handed her a menu as he was already looking through his, “The burgers sound really good.” He spoke as his eyes moved over all the meals that the diner was offering, he’d probably just stick with a burger and fries and a soda as no one could go wrong with that. “What do you think you’ll get?” He asked as he wanted to keep a conversation going with Harley, not because she was Voight’s daughter but because he actually wanted to get to know her.
Grace smiled at her dad’s comment, “He’s being nice. Maybe you should try being nice once and a while,” She smiled at him as she knew what he could be like while on the job, he was tough but he always got the job done. Looking back at Adam she smiled, “I know what a pain he can be. You can say it, everyone knows he is.” She chuckled softly as she never wanted the team to treat her differently because her surname was Voight, she was just another cop while she was at work. She didn’t want special treatment, which is many why she decided to move away to do her training. And it worked until word spread about who her father was, then the other recruits either never wanted to work with her or they treated her like shit.

“I’m still fresh out of the academy, this is my first job in the police.” She wanted to be honest, she only got the job because her dad made it happen. She would have been happy to start from the bottom and work her way up, but she couldn’t refuse the position that her dad was handing to her. “And please don’t treat me differently,” She looked at Adam and he didn’t seem like the type of guy that would, but she wanted to ask him anyway in case he thought he had to because her dad was the boss.
