Forbidden Apples

Abigail sat at the end of the bar, sipping on her drink. Her friends were suppose to meet her here and they were running late. She bit her bottom lip lightly when a drink was set in front of her. She looked over at the man that the bartender had pointed out to her. He was definitely older, but he was really attractive. Abby smiled at him, giving him a small wave. She knew she should go talk to him, but part of her was shy. She looked hot tonight though so why not go flirt a little. Abby moved over to him, "Hi." She said softly, looking at him. He was even hotter up close, "Thanks for the drink." She said, giving him a small smile. He seemed to well put together and she liked that in a guy. All the guys her age were still "finding" themselves and Abby had always wanted to settle down early. "I'm Abby." She said, setting her drink down and offering him her hand. She took a sip of her drink, actually liking the taste of it. She knew that she needed to be careful because she was not one to drink much. Abby had been sneaking to bar since she was in high school and she was glad she didn't have to do that anymore.

Jake walked up to his friends house and knocked on the door. They were suppose to be meeting here to head out to eat. He smirked when he saw Harley open the door, "Hey." He said, "Is your brother home?" He asked. His friend had been out of town for awhile and had moved back recently. Jake had missed his best friend and he was surprised by how much Harley had grown. He stepped inside when he was let in then waited by the door. "How have you been Harley?" He asked. He looked over as his friend joined them. "You ready?" He asked him.

Harley bounced down the stairs, her hair flowing behind her, as she made her way to the door. Her body adorned in a simple pair of black yoga pants, mismatched ankle socks, and her favorite marbled sports bra. She opened the door and a smiled flashed across her face as she realized who was standing before her.

"Oh hey Jake, it's been a while." She looked back into the house, calling out for her brother. "Liam! Jake is here, get your ass out here ya lazy fucker." Turning back towards Jake she flashed him a grin. " I'm good, how've you been?"

William let a smile sit on his face as he watched the bartender set the drink in front of the cute blonde girl. He had decided to go out for a drink after a rough day at the office and he couldn't help but take notice of her sitting on her own across the bar. He gave her a nod as she waved, congratulating himself mentally as she made her way to where he was sitting.

"William. It's a pleasure Abby." He nodded towards her, raising his drink towards her before taking a sip. "What brings you to this wonderfully riveting bar?"

Jake looked at her, "I'm doing alright." He said. He hadn't seen her in so long. It was weird to see her again. He watched as Liam came down the stairs and looked at Harley. "We are going to eat you should come along." He suggested. Liam shot him a look, not liking to have his little sister tagging along. Jake figured since he hadn't seen either of them in awhile that it would be a good idea to invite her.

Abby smiled, "I'm just meeting a few friends who are running late." She said, shrugging. She sat with him, then glanced at the tv. She looked back at him, seeing that he was looking her over. Abby had always liked that guys liked the way she looked. She took a time to make sure she looked nice all the time. "So are you here alone?" She asked him softly. It seemed odd to see someone like him out without a date. Then again some people preferred to be alone. She took a sip of her drink then looked at him as he spoke.

"No... no I wouldn't want to over-step. It's been a while since you guys have seen each other." Harley flushed, smiling slightly as she looked between her brothers annoyed expression and Jake's welcoming one. "Besides I'd have to go change and I doubt you'd wanna wait for me." She shrugged. Of course she wanted to go, she'd be stupid to not want to go. She had always gone out of her way to spend time with him, but it was different now. She wasnt the same little kid as before and the last thing she wanted to do was seem desperate.

"Friends? Of the boy or girl variety?" William gave her a half smile as he nodded to her inquiry. He was indeed alone, as per usual. "I am. I needed a drink after my day in the office. It's been a long day." He stated, taking a sip before setting his glass back onto the bar. "Though it has gotten exponentially better since I got here." He glanced down, taking in her clothing (and body) rather casually.

Jake nodded, "Alright, well another time then yea?" He asked her. He had always liked spending time with her even though they were pretty far apart in age. She certainly wasn't a little girl anymore and she looked amazing. Jake smiled as his friend pulled him out the door, "See ya." He said, waving at her before they walked out to his car and headed to the restaurant. He couldn't get the thought of her out of his head.

Abby smiled as he spoke, "Girls." She assured him. She nodded when he mentioned needed a drink after work. "Where do you work?" She asked as she sat with him. She knew that she probably shouldn't be trying to get with a guy right now. She had just broken up with her boyfriend about a month ago and she had sworn off men for awhile. This guy seemed different though. He was older and seemed to have his life together.

"Absolutely. Another time." Harley smiled, watching as Liam practically dragged Jake to the car. She sigh, snacking herself in the head as she close the door behind them. "Idiot." She muttered to herself.

"Dude. What was that back there.?" Liam questioned, his eyes locked onto his best friend. "Please do not tell me you're into my sister." He questioned his friend, disgusted at the thought.

"Well it seems as though your friends are late." William raised his eyebrows
This girl was pretty, a lot prettier than he was used to meeting. He could tell she was younger but for the time being, that didnt seem to matter. Besides, she couldn't be THAT much younger than him. "Oh it's boring stuff you wouldn't be interested in my work." He shook his head "I'm not even interested in my work, but it makes me the big bucks so."

Jake looked over at his friend then back at the road, "What? No. I was just being nice. You should try it sometime." He teased his friend. He knew that he couldn't admit to Liam that he kind of liked Harley. He also knew that she had changed so much that he probably needed to lean more about her again. Jake pulled up to the restaurant, getting out of his car. He walked inside with Liam and sat down, getting a beer with his food. He shook his head as Liam ordered them shots, "You realize i'm driving right?" He asked. He nodded when Liam mentioned Harley coming to get them if they needed her to.

Abby nodded, "Yea they really are, but that just means you have me all to yourself for now." She teased him. She laughed softly when he said he didn't like his job. "Pretty sure they always say you should enjoy your job if you plan to work there for a long time." She said. "Not many people like work though so I guess we were lied to." She joked.

"I get nice. I am nice. But she was TWELVE the last time you saw her." Liam chuckled, shutting up about the topic. After ordering their food, drinks, and shots, things had finally settled into conversation. "So come on man. Catch me up. Hows life been treating you?"

"Well then cheers to your friends and being late." William chuckled, raising his glass. "Well tell me about you. What do you do for a living?" He questioned, honestly curious on what she did, but at the same time trying to figure her out.

Jake smirked, "Well, You know i have just been looking for a job in town now that i am back." He said. "I have an interview at the hospital this week so fingers crossed your friend will be a real doctor not just on paper." He said, laughing. He took a sip of his beer and watched his friend. "Other than that I have just been unpacking at my house." He said.

Abby took a sip of her drink, "Me? I'm a teacher." She said. She knew she still had some school to do to get her Master's degree but she was happy with her job now. Abby glanced across the bar, seeing some guy staring at her. She looked back at William and smiled. She learned to ignore a lot of guys that looked at her.

"Well that would be cool man." Liam nodded "Harley works at the hospital.. don't ask me what she does, cause I don't to a fucking clue. I just know she's always there when she's not studying. " he explained. His sister was a sophomore in college and much farther along than she should've been. She was able to test out of almost all her prerequisites and what trying to get into the surgical program. He had to admit he was proud of his sister.

"A teacher? Really. That must be interesting." William smiled, a four year program so she was at least 21. "Do you mind my asking what grade? Primary or secondary?" He inquired, glancing over at the man staring at Abby from across the bar. "Do you know him?"

Jake smiled, "That's cool." He said. He thought it was a good thing that they could possibly work at the same place. He was glad when his food came. "What have you been up to?" He asked as he began to eat. He hadn't eaten much all day so he was pretty hungry.

Abby looked at him, "Primary." She replied. When he asked about the guy across the bar she shook her head. "No i just don't some random guy." She said, laughing softly. She wasnt intereested in him at all

"Honestly not much of anything. You can't imagine how difficult it has been keeping all these vultures away from Harley. She's just not my same baby sister. It'll be nice having you back to help." Liam joked "Seriously though, I've just been working and chilling at home."

"I would be more than happy to make him go away." William smirked slightly, his face soft and he glanced over at the man again. He was younger, clearly closer to her age, but that didnt stop William from shooting his a look that read 'back off'.

Jake laughed, "I'm sure you can fight them off pretty well." He teased his friend. He ate a few more of his fries, "I'm pretty sure we have all just kind of been working and hanging out at home." He said. He knew that is mostly what he had done expect for unpacking. After they finished eating they ordered a few more rounds of shots. Jake sat there drinking his beer as Jake called Harley. He chuckled when he heard her lecture him. "You are in trouble." He teased him, leaning back against his chair once he finished his beer. He ordered one more because he knew it would take a bit to get to the bar that they were at. He looked over at Harley when she arrived, "Hey." He said, finishing his last beer.

Abby smiled at him, "Thanks." she said once the guy left them alone. Abby sat with him, "So what do you do when you aren't working or here?" She asked him. She was really curious about this guy. He seemed really nice and she wanted to get to know him better.
