Creating characters can be the best part of writing a story, but it's also something that many people don't give much thought to. The goal of this contest is to write one-shots or stories that involve complex, developed characters.
• Follow all of Mibba’s Story Guidelines. Failure to do so will result in disqualification
• Minimum of 1,000 words, no maximum
• Chaptered entries do not need to be finished for the deadline
• Any rating goes, but please no incest, m-preg or rape!
• Pre-writes are NOT accepted
• Fan-fiction is NOT accepted unless you ask for an exclusion
• Readable layouts, please — this means black/dark text on a white/pale background

• A character who lives in "The Bible Belt" but doesn't believe in God
• A character that has many visible scars*

• A character with PTSD that is not active military or a veteran
• A character dealing with the repercussions of saying/doing something offensive
• A character before and while hiding out during a big storm*
• A character working hard to have a shining college application
• A character who is a sex worker
• A character who outed a friend in a series of drunk texts*
• A character who is in a relationship with a teacher
• A character who gets detained at an airport
• A character that wakes up a century (or more) into the future
• A character accused of major crime(s) after waking up from a coma
• A character who can see dead people
* By realistically I just mean a character who doesn't bump into some celeb they're obsessed with and fall in love. A character who is just like us - most likely none of which are going to have a spicy romance with a hot celebrity.
* Not self-harm scars. I want these character choices to really challenge you.
