Reckless Abandon

Daya stood in the dance studio lined up for the dance class she was taking. She fixed her hat and adjusted her hoodie, watching as the professor adjusted the stereo. She was excited to be taking a dance class for her minor, and it had been a while since she got to dance for a grade. She looked up as the professor assigned them partners for duo work, and she listened for her name. When she saw who she was partnered with she walked over, smiling and waving. "Hey, I'm Daya," She said, softly to not disrupt the others finding their partners.

Lily walked into the class and plopped down at the computer then set her bag down by her feet huffing a little, she pulled her glasses out of her bag pocket then put them on before logging onto the computer system. Opening up the program they had used several times before she wet her lips opening the assignment on the board before waiting for futher instruction, pulling her book out she chewed on the inside of her cheek continuing her reading.

Yugyeom looked at her then smiled, he'd gotten there a bit earlier than the rest of the class to stretch since he knew that the usual stretching was never enough for him, he bowed slightly then nodded. "Hi, I'm yugyeom," he said to her with a shy smile curving his lips before looking at her, "So did you have an idea for the dance, we could figure out a song first?"

She nodded, sitting down next to him. "Sure, what kind of dance do you do normally?" She asked curiously. "Maybe we can find a middle ground we're both comfortable with and then find a song in that genre?" She suggested.

Bambam walked into the class and sighed, sitting down by a computer and logging in. He set his bag onto the chair next to him, not wanting to put it onto the floor before drumming his fingers along the desk. He looked over at the girl next to him and smiled a little, before leaning over. "I'm Bambam, aren't you in my other class on thursdays?"

Lily jumped a little when she heard him talk then looked at him, she definitely recognized him then nodded, "Mhm, I recognize your hair," she murmured as she fixed her glasses then looked down for a moment, "I'm lily," her voice was a bit meek because not many people talked to her while she was in class, in fact she felt as if she didn't exist most of the time.

Yugyeom smiled and pulled out his phone, "I do mostly R&B, some hiphop," he said to her with a small smile as he showed her his play list of songs he had, "but I have experience in jazz too," he had been put in many different dance classes when he was a kid his mom knew he loved it so indulged his every desire so he could be happy.

"I like R&B and hip hop. I do Jazz, contemporary and some ballet too," She smiled. "So we can do one of those. I tend to prefer either slow R&B or fast hip hop. So if you have any songs like that, I'm happy to do them. We'll need to plan times to meet up and practice, I can give you my number." She said, pulling out her phone.

He smiled a little. "Nice to meet you Lily," He said, looking to his screen and typing in before looking back at her. "Yeah, the blonde it is a bit of a give away. You're a design major?"

A small smile curved her lips as she nodded,"Yeah, graphic design with a minor in coding," she said lightly as she fiddled with the application before creating a spread for her drawing she was working on, "I want to design video games," she told him as she looked over at him then back at her computer sighing "It's a lot harder than it looks, you're a design major?"

He nodded listening to her then smiled,"Alright, so I'm sure we could come up with something I'm free on fridays and saturday afternoons if you have the time if not we can make it work," he said as he handed her his phone for her to put her number into.

She looked at his jacket and raised an eyebrow. "You're in a frat, you sure you're free on Fridays?" She laughed a little. "Just as well, weekends are the best times for me too," She said, adding her number and handing it back. "What are your strengths? I'm pretty good at acro," She smiled.

He nodded. "Fashion design and business," I want to design clothes for a company and eventually run my own," He smiled. "For men and women alike," He said. "You know, I'm looking for models all the time, if you're free you could model for me."

"Ahm, I .. I'm not tall or pretty enough to be a model," she snorted a little as she looked at him with a raised brow then shook her head head, what game was he playing at? She barely reached five foot one and Lily knew she didn't have the looks to be a model even one just to help him with a grade or whatever he was looking for.

He laughed and rubbed his neck, "Yeah, I mean the grade is more important than getting drunk but we can work it out for that morning, maybe 9am to 4pm?" he offered as he looked at her, "and my strength is freestyle R&B," he said to her excitedly he hadn't really had anyone to talk to about his love for dancing in a while.

"I'm trying to design clothes for people of all shapes and sizes, so your height is perfect, and I can use you for the petite outfit I've been designing recently." He said, laughing a little. "So unless you're uncomfortable modelling you'd be great for it."

She nodded. "Okay so we should incoporate that, give you a section to freestyle, and maybe a part for me to do acrobatics," She smiled a little. "You're a pledge? So you just joined," She said, nodding a little.

Lily sighed a little as she looked at him then nodded, "I'll think about it," she murmured softly as she looked at him, "can I see the design?" she asked him curiously, "or is that reserved for models only?" she teased then crossed her legs fixing her skirt then fiddling with her drawing pad to check the sensitivity before beginning her sketch.

He nodded a little,"Yeah, Jaebum will understand he keeps telling me to worry about my studies more cause the guys get wasted every night and in not very alcohol tolerant yet," he said sheepishly, "And that sounds good to me," he told her, " I have a friend who can mix a track for us too if we need it,"

She laughed a little and then ran a hand through her hair. "Im Jaebum?" She asked, shaking her head a bit. "How nice of him," She said, looking at her phone and closing the screen. "And thats a good idea, maybe we can make a mix," She smiled a little. "Someting to show our versatility."

He shrugged. "How do I know you won't give the idea to one of the other fashion design majors?" He smiled a little. "Somehow I don't think you will, so here," He said, pulling it up on his computer. "This is the most recent one."

Lily laughed a little, "I would never," she said as she leaned over to get a better look then nodded, "Thats really nice, are you making the jewelry to go with it?" she asked curiously as she saw the design came with several options for accessories then tilted her head. "I'm working on a dystopian survival horror game; cliche but whatever the mechanics I have in mind for it are pretty cool but its female based, most survival games are male oriented - and I'm trying to make the needs and such very... real thats the hard part but right now her design is coming along okay,"

He nodded, "Yeah thats him," he said as he looked at her then sighed a little, "so around that time we can meet up and come up with a few things, sound good? I need to get food soon or I might collapse," he admitted.

She nodded a little. "Yeah I was heading to go get food now, so we can if you want. I was just going to go to the cafe." She said, standing up and going to get her bag out of the cubby. "So what made you join that frat as opposded tot he other ones?"

He nodded a little. "That's interesting, so how will this stand out from other games aside from it being geared toward women?" He asked curiously.

"The basis of mechanics will be different, it'll have a non linear story line with over fifty different endings based on a combination of decisions the player has to make," she said to him as she looked at him, "the user interface is completely custom, from skin tone - height, body type; there is going to be over 500 options for people to choose from. On top of that clothing will have different pros and cons as well, you build armor, you repair clothes for shielding you against rain or wind - or you have to dress down in order to keep cool; the story takes place over two years so it will have different seasons," she explained as she looked at him then sighed, "it's very hard to explain, but I have like eight journals filled with things I've seen people wanting in a game; but I don't know if I'll be wanting to make it multiplayer or not,"

"A lot of the seniors from high school were in the frat so they suggested it, and its not as taxing as the others; you don't get punished for doing certain things and the hazing bit wasn't too bad. Some of the stuff they make you do in other frats is down right degrading," he told her as he grabbed his bag.

She shrugged. "I suppose it's a matter of preference," She said softly. "They're all kinda the same to me, but I wouldn't know much aside from my own experience." She said as she walked. "So then the piece needs to be a full three minutes, maybe we should give ourselves both 20 seconds of solo time so we have 2 minutes and 40 seconds of duo work? Maybe 15 seconds," She added as she thought. "How good are you with acrobatics?"

"That's pretty cool so if you make it to the end of the 2nd year you win? Once this is done do you have any sequels in mind?" He asked her, angling his chair towards hers. "I could help design some of your costumes if you'd be open to it."

She looked at him then smiled a little,"I don't know, if I keep it as open early access I can continue to develop the game making it better and better - over time it can get sponsers or crowd funding," she told him as she thought about it, "But help with outfits would be great actually," she spoke as she looked at him then back to her computer.

He nodded as he listend to her, "That sounds fine to me we can come up with something good,"

She walked toward the cafe, pulling a sandwich from the shelf and going to pay for it. She grabbed a water bottle and went to sit down, kicking her bag under the table. "So, were you drafted or did you pledge?" She asked curiously.

He smiled. "I'll sketch something and show you later," He said, pulling his phone out and sliding it toward her. "Want me to call you when its done?"

She grabbed his phone then smiled,"Sure," she said lightly adding her number to his phone then handing it back to him, "I appreciate the help actually, clothing design is a lot harder than it looks," which was why she had used basic clothing models to start with then planned on moving on from there.

"Drafted, Jackson dragged me in," he said to her smiling a little,"I think he took this as a challenge or what ever but I don't mind it,"

"What did they make you do? You guys have those parties every weekend right?" She asked curiously.

He smiled a little and set his phone down when she was done. "I'm happy to help, I've never designed for a game before. It'll be fun. What are you doing later?" He aksed curiously
