Nate loved his job as a professor. It wasn't just interesting, it had its own rewards. Seeing his students finally understand a concept or knowing that they sometimes came to him after class for help or with questions about the work really made him feel like he was making a difference. His class was about to start, so he was heading there now, though he was hoping for an easy day. He only had two classes to teach today and he'd already dealt with the first one. After this one, he could head home and relax. Really, though, he wasn't sure if he could relax. He'd noticed, over the past few months of teaching this class, that one of his students was a little... distracted or reserved. He was almost certain he'd seen a bruise on her once or twice but, any time he had tried to ask, she had seemed to be in a rush to leave. It wasn't really any of his business and he knew that, but he tried to look out for his students when he could. Entering his class, he looked around and offered a smile to those who were there.
Letha didn't generally get along with many of her professors. She was always late to class - or, at least, to the classes she attended. She didn't participate much in class discussions unless she had something smart-assy to say. She acted like she didn't pay attention or take notes or do her homework, but she always had her work in on time and was ready to answer a question, even in her smart-ass manner. For the most part, she didn't even attend most of her classes anymore. The only class she did attend at this point was Dr. Pax's, and that was because he was more than a little cute. Of course, that didn't mean that she was any easier to deal with in his classes than she was in any other, but he seemed to be a bit more understanding compared to her other professors. Walking into Dr. Pax's class, late as always, she arched a brow as she made her way to her seat. "I didn't miss anything important, did I, Dr. Pax?" she asked as she sat down, arching a brow with amusement.
