Korrie couldn't believe it, she was back, she was actually home. A place she didn't think she would return to ever again but she had heard rumours that the Tomb had been opened. She had to see if it was true. Most of the vampires in that tomb had been her friends, Pearl, Annabelle, plus several others that there were too many to name. However she was curious of one in particular, a male she had been in love with all those years ago. A man she had been engaged to, a man that she had given her heart to before Katherine Pierce got to town and stole him away from her.

    Stefan Salvatore.

She had heard rumours that he and his brother had been transformed after she had fled but she had never found out if he had been trapped in the tomb for all those years. Korrie drove passed the welcome sign and entered Mystic Falls. The energy around her changed. There was more power in the air. She turned and looked at her best friend and witch side kick Callie.

"Welcome to my home town," she said before her eyes turned back to the road, "It has been a good century since I have been here," she was talking more to herself then her friend.
Jeremy had locked himself in his room not wanting to go out, he was in no mood to go to school he just wanted to sleep, however with Elena constantly knocking on his door it made it hard to return back to sleep. Instead he was forced to get out of his bed and changed for another day at school.

He opened his door and walked down the stair where Jenna and Elena were sitting talking, he was certain they were talking about him. He honestly didn't have time for their shit so instead of greeting them he simply walked out the door not worrying about lunch. Ever since finding out about Vicki and the things Elena had kept from her he really didn't want to be near her. He didn't want to see her. How could she have done that to him, made him forget everything. Shaking his head he put his headphones in and began to walk toward school drowning everything out.

Stefan wasn’t the one who compelled Jeremy to forget everything that happened, with Vicki and had she had been turned into. Damon had volunteered that night when Stefan couldn’t bring himself to do it, it felt wrong to take away Jeremy’s pain like that when he had a right to know. Elena knew about what he was and what was lurking in this town, although he did know why Elena had asked him to do it. She was protecting Jeremy after all the pain he went through when his parents were killed, which is why he found the young teenager as he walked towards the high school.

“Jeremy… I know you can hear me, please don’t blame your sister about what happened. She did what she thought was best at the time,” He spoke to the moody teenager as he stood behind him, he watched as Jeremy stopped walking but didn’t turn around to face him. “I’ll make it up to you in time, but there is a lot more going on here then you can imagine. Elena was trying to keep all of that away from you, so it doesn’t hurt you.” He thought it was best to be honest with the boy, there have been too many lies going around these days and Stefan knew that would only backfire at some point.
Callie sipped the hot coffee in the takeaway cup that she had gotten at the gas station down the road, she glanced over to her vampire best friend Korrie who was driving the car towards the small town that she once lived in a long time ago. “You know if you had something that belonged to Stefan, which I’m pretty sure you do then I could just do a location spell and see if he’s here.” She told her friend once again, that has been an offer between them since Callie first learned how to cast spells. But every single time Korrie refused, something that Callie didn’t understand but didn’t press the subject as she knew it was a touchy one.

“So do I really have to go to school here? You home schooled me once before, why can’t we go back to that? I promise I’ll listen more,” She smiled as she didn’t want to be the new girl in a school where everyone knew everyone. She heard what Korrie muttered mostly to herself, “Are you sure you want to come back here? We can keep driving onto the next town, or the town after that.” Callie suggested as she glanced over to the only vampire that she trusted, the only vampire that her entire family trusted.

Korrie smiled at her friend when she mentioned tracking the male vampire, she had something but she wasn't sure if she wanted her friend to track him. Not yet anyway. Her thoughts might change as things progress. It wasn't that the female didn't have something that belonged to the male, she had one thing, something that meant so much to her. The dark haired vampire turned and looked at her friend as she brought up the subject of school.

"You do, we have to fit in as well as we can, this place is known for it's vampire hunters, most of the families here hate my kind and will do everything in their power to get rid of us. However I can't say that everything they will teach I haven't already taught you... plus you need more interaction with the opposite sex." Korrie giggled turning and looking at her friend a cheeky grin spreading across her face. "And if I remember correctly this place is known for their attractive men."
Jeremy had stopped walking and was listening to Stefan who stood stood behind him, he spun around his lip curled back in anger. His dark eyes locked with Stefan's hazel eyes, "I don't care what, I think I have been hurt enough to deal with the pain. And what right did she have, she took control of my thoughts, my mind and for that she can feel guilty." he stated hotly before turning and walking away this time he turned his music up as loud as he could handle it and continued walking into the school where people were beginning to enter the building.

He hoped today was going to be better than the last few days but he highly doubted it, not with the way he had been feeling. All the anger and resentment to his sister was constantly bubbling inside him. Everytime he looked at her he just wanted to shout at her, start a fight, make her cry, make her feel guilty. She might have a boyfriend to defend her but that wouldn't stop him.

Stefan simply stood there and watched as Jeremy continued to walk away, he had tried and he did truly understand where the boy was coming from. He knew this would happen after Damon compelled the moody teenager to forget what he had seen that night, but no one listened to him when he expressed his thoughts on the situation. So all he could do was continue on with his life but make sure to keep an eye on Jeremy, he didn’t want to see the kid go further downhill then he already had been since the death of his parents. So Stefan climbed into his red 1963 Porsche and drove to the high school as Elena was getting a lift with Bonnie, parking his car he took his time climbing out as he didn’t really want to be there.

But this was the life that he had made for himself, he needed to continue acting like he was a normal human teenager and not a vampire. Grabbing his backpack he stretched out his body as his eyes wandered over all the students, it made him feel better coming to school knowing he could control his urge to drink human blood. Especially after how he used to be, back when he turned into a ripper and killed more people than he wanted to admit. He would always be ashamed of what he became, so having the control over himself now and spending his days surrounded by humans meant a lot to him. That was something Damon wouldn’t understand, most vampires wouldn’t understand why he went to school and acted normal. But at least he knew the reason why.
Callie rolled her light eyes, “I’m not scared of hunters. And none of them will ever get close to you,” She spoke as she could easily take on a hunter, Korrie was like the sister that Callie never had. Callie wasn’t about to let anything happen to someone she saw as family, “Besides you’re like 300 years old. You could stop a hunter with your pinky finger,” Callie smiled as she finished off her coffee, which she would need if Korrie was making her attend an actual real high school. A blush warmed her face as her friend mentioned boys, of course Callie wanted to meet boys but she had other more important things to do in Mystic Falls. “Boys can come later, I still have to make sure this tomb is safe and the bitch is dead.” She spoke about Katherine with disgust, she heard all the stories about what she did and how much she hurt Korrie.

It was only a few more minutes before Korrie was pulling her car aside as they had reached the high school, Callie had already been excepted and had been sent the text books that she needed for her class. She groaned when she felt a light nudge from Korrie, “This sucks,” She whined as she climbed from the car, her bag in hand as she sent one last look back at Korrie before she walked towards the large building. She hated this, she hadn’t even explored the town yet or settled into wherever Korrie had found them to live. So Callie lowered her eyes as she walked quickly towards the front doors of the school, however this caused her to not see a boy who was heading in the same direction as she was. Not until she felt their bodies collide, she was slightly thrown off balance by how sudden her body stopped moving forward. Looking up her eyes landed on a guy around her age, dark hair and eyes and he was attractive. Very attractive. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t see you.” Callie looked at him in embarrassment, she wasn’t going to tell Korrie about this as she’d never hear the end of it.

Korrie laughed at her friend when she mentioned that she wasn't scared of the hunters and her age. The dark haired vampire turned to look at her blonde haired friend when she said that men could come later.

"Perhaps... but Callie come on... boys..." she laughed before pulling in front of the school. "Alright I will go find a park and be in with you soon... don't cause any trouble while I am gone," with that she watched as Callie closed the door and headed toward the entrance where people were beginning to file in. Korrie quickly found a park switched off the engine and grabbed her school bag and hurried out. She ran toward the entrance coming to a walk when she slid in between the sea of people. Heading to the office out the corner of her eyes she saw Callie, a wide grin spread across her face when she saw her talking to male. Korrie let the two to themselves and walked into the office to get herself organised for her first day of school.

"Good morning," the woman at the counter greeted her with a warm smile.

"Good morning, I am Korrie Langston, this is my new day."

"Oh yes, of course," the woman got to her feet and began to flap around finding all the paperwork she needed, Korrie turned her head looking around the room taking everything in.
Jeremy hadn't been watching where he was going and suddenly he collided with another body, he was about to retaliate when he looked and saw that it was a girl. Quickly he took his headphone out of his ear and caught her before she fell completely off balance.

"Sorry... Oh no... I wasn't paying attention," he said as he let go of the blonde once she had got her balance. He noticed the blush that had bloomed across her cheeks. "Hi... I'm Jeremy," he introduced himself smiling down at her. He waited for her to introduce herself while his eyes scanned over her features. She had straight blonde hair, bright blue eyes and softer features. She was beautiful there was no denying it.

Stefan made his way into the high school, heading straight over to his locker where he got himself organized for the day. He had walked past Jeremy who had been talking to a girl, so he didn’t want to interrupt them as it was good for Jeremy to have friends of his own who weren’t vampires. Once he was ready for class, he shut the locker door and loosely held his books in his hand. Walking through the crowded hallways, Stefan managed to make his way to his first class of the day. History, hopefully the teacher would actually know what they’re talking about as he wouldn’t be shy about correcting someone. Especially if he lived through whatever the subject or time period was, he had corrected a teacher before and would do it again.

Sitting down at a desk, his eyes watched as the other students slowly took their time arriving and finding a desk to sit at. The bell rang loudly signalling class was about to start and students needed to hurry up and get to class, the teacher had just begun to speak when the door to the classroom opened. Stefan glanced over to see who the late student was, as he hadn’t noticed anyone was missing or running late.
Callie felt him helping to steady her, which only made her even more embarrassed. She looked up at him and smiled, he was attractive and nice. “Hi, I’m Callie… I hate doing this, but could you point me in the direction of the office? It’s my first day,” She looked at him as she knew the first class would be starting soon and she didn’t want to be late, and she couldn’t see Korrie anywhere as she would have followed her brunette friend to the office. Once Jeremy agreed, she listened to the direction he was telling her and nodded her head he finished. “Thank you, I’ll see you around.” She looked at him one last time before turning around and rushing off in the way he had told her, finding the office she pretty much ran inside.

The lady welcomed her and gave her a map of the school, and told her where to find her locker. Callie followed the map to her locker so she wouldn’t get lost, she quickly stuffed her things inside before she heard the bell. “Crap,” She mumbled under her breath, she grabbed the books she needed and walked briskly through the hallway, again following the map until she found the room she needed. She walked in and was about to find a desk when the teacher stopped her and asked her to introduce herself, “I’m Callie Hudson.” She spoke softly as her eyes scanned the room, she smiled when her eyes landed on Jeremy and he had an empty desk beside him. She walked over and sat down beside him, “Is there anywhere to hide? I hate when teachers do that,” She looked over at him, glad that she knew at least someone in her first class.

The woman finally handed her her school program before pointing her in the direction of her first class. As she was walking to her first class which was history she came to an abrupt holt when she saw her.

    Katherine Pierce.

She hadn't been locked in the tomb. Her eyes stayed trained on the female as she walked toward her classroom, coincidently it was hers to. She watched as the door opened and closed. Taking a deep breath she tried to control her emotions that were bubbling inside her. She made it to the door and turned the knob, but suddenly a familiar voice caused her to cease her movements.

    Stefan.

    Stefan Salvatore.

He wasn't in the tomb, he had been spared. He was here right now. Suddenly everything began to feel like it was closing around her. She didn't have time to collect her thoughts before the door was pulled open and standing in front of her was what she assumed was the class teacher. He had mousey brown hair, blue eyes and a kind smile.

"Can I help you?" he asked his voice was deep and warm. He had such a welcoming aura.

"New student. Sorry nerves," she said in a small voice as she looked up at him. The smile on his face widened and he opened the door wider stepping aside allowing her to walk in. Korrie walked in avoiding eye contact with anyone. "Korrie Langston."

"Welcome, Misterr Saltzman," he greeted her, "Now I am not going to do the big introduction scene so I will get you to take a seat next to Elena over there," Korrie followed his eyesight and saw that she was right in front of Stefan. Nodding her head she kept her head down before falling into her seat. Out of the corner of her eye she scanned the female she was seated next to. He had said her name was Elena. She looked exactly the same as Katherine. What was going on? Had she taken on another persona? No. There was something about her, she wasn't a vampire, she was human.

How was that possible? However when the brunette's attention landed on her she quickly turned her eyes to the front and listened to what Mister Saltzman was going on about. Things have definitely got interesting.
Jeremy pointed the blonde in the direction of the school office before she ran off. He couldn't help the smile that spread across his face as he watched her disappear into the room. That was when he saw Elena. Quickly he put his head phones back in and walked further into the building and heading straight to his locker. Once he had pulled the books out he needed he headed to his first class making sure to bypass anyone he didn't want to talk to.

Once he was in he took a seat towards the back and took his head phones out. Students began filing in and before he knew it the girl from earlier appeared. Callie. She seemed shy, he watched as she took a seat next to him. Laughing he shook his head.

"Unfortunately not, but don't worry, Miss doesn't normally make a scene about new kids she is cool that way." the two sat in silence until the teacher turned her back to write on the blackboard. "Hey, so when did you get to Mystic? Where are you from?" the questions spilled from his lips and he hoped he wasn't over doing it or scaring the girl but he was interested in knowing more about her.

Stefan watched as Elena sat down at the desk in front of him, Alaric was just about to start the class when he turned his attention to the door. Stefan’s eyes were focused on who Alaric was speaking to, although he couldn’t actually see who on the other side of the door as Alaric’s body was blocking the view. But when he stepped aside, Stefan knew that if his heart still had a beat then it would have either skipped a beat or just stopped all together. Because he never once expected to see the girl who had stepped into the classroom, especially not after she left town suddenly and escaped being rounded up into the tomb.

Korrie Langston. The girl he was set to marry and have a family with, the girl that he had actually deeply loved before Katherine arrived and ruined everything for them. Although Stefan was also to blame, he had let lust for Katherine cloud his judgement and cloud his mind. He had also hurt Korrie back then. But why was she here? Why did she come back to Mystic Falls and why now? All he wanted to do was take her aside and talk to her, hold her tightly because he had missed her terribly. She was the one person from his life that he still thought about to this day, but he would need to wait until after class and hope that she doesn’t attack Elena.

He prayed that Korrie would listen to Elena or smell her human blood, so she would know that Elena wasn’t Katherine. “Korrie…” He whispered under his breath, just loud enough for Korrie to hear him but no one else would. He couldn’t think straight right now, his world had been rocked by her presence just like he had when they first met.
Callie opened her books and took a pen between her fingers, she knew Korrie would be on her case if she didn’t do her best at school. Just because she was a witch, didn’t mean that she wouldn’t have to have a career once she graduated from high school. She smiled when she heard the questions that Jeremy asked her quietly, she looked over at him with a sweet smile on her face. “I got here this morning with my best friend, Korrie, she refused to let me have the day to settle in.” She knew Korrie wanted them to appear normal from the outside, but that didn’t mean they had to start school the second they reached the town. Apparently Korrie had other plans, because Callie was sitting in the school right now.

“I’m from Atlanta,” She told him although she kept the fact that Korrie lived in the town to herself, considering her beautiful brunette friend lived there many years ago. “Is there many things to do here? I haven’t even had the time to explore yet,” She asked him as quietly as she could, she really didn’t want to get into trouble on her first day as Korrie would have a lot to say about that. Yet she still wanted to talk to Jeremy, get to know him because he was very handsome. He was slightly taller than her, dark hair and dark eyes which looked at her without judgement.

Of course she had dated boys before and only had one boyfriend, but none knew what she was. She felt horrible having to keep such a huge secret from anyone she loved or cared about, but that didn’t seem to cross her mind as she looked at Jeremy. All she wanted was to know him more.

Korrie went rigid when she heard him say her name, a whisper that no human ear could hear. The way her name fell from his lips transported her back to when the two had first met. She had been a blushing mess, never able to control her emotions around attractive men. She had been fifteen when the news of her arranged engagement had left her parents lips. She was young but she knew she would be marrying into a well known and respected family. As well as a family of wealth that could support her. In those days her parents had fallen on hard times however she had never known that until later. That was the main reason they had wanted their only daughter to marry into wealth. With a brother that was away most of the time with his work and engaged himself to be married Korrie was the only one left her parents had to worry about.

As Mister Saltzman spoke she allowed her thoughts to wander, allowed herself to go back to a time when she was still human, when she was young and had her whole life ahead of her, a life that was originally meant to be filled with Stefan by her side. However when Katherine got to town that was when everything changed. And when Korrie fell ill with the sickness. Luckily for her she had been a close friend to Annabelle. It had been her mother, Pearl, who had changed her taking pity and her daughter's constant pleading had caused the vampire to relent.

Pearl had done all that she could to help Korrie through her transition, and helped her to control her urges and hide the vampire inside her. That was when she had struck up a friendship with Jeremiah Hudson, Callie's great-great-great grandfather. He had protected her when she needed it, he was a true friend. In return she had helped him and promised to protect his family and descendants for as long as she is around. Callie was the only one of that bloodline she was so close with she considered her sister. The one person she would protect with her life.

Korrie came out of her thoughts just in time to hear the bell. She had zoned out of the entire class. She was certain it wasn't anything she didn't already know. As she collected her things and got to her feet she looked around the room. However she didn't look at Stefan she tried to avoid any eye contact with him, not sure what would happen if she did look at him. The feelings she had for him still ran deep. She had only just now realised how deep.
Jeremy couldn't believe what he was hearing, she had only got into town and already she was at school. Surely she would have needed a day to relax and get into the swing of things.

"Really?" he asked, "that is intense, all the way from Atlanta. What brings you to Mystic Falls?" Jeremy was genuinely interested. There wasn't much here, unless you were into the supernatural. Then this was a breeding ground for anything and everything. Vampires, were-wolves, witches and god knows what else. As Jeremy sat there he allowed his eyes to wander over the blonde haired female, her eyes were a light shade of blue, her lips a soft pink and curved nicely. She was stunning there was no denying it.

"Hey seeing as you are new to town, I would be happy to show you around, all the places people go to have some fun. If you are interested of course," his voice was still low because he knew if he spoke any louder trouble would ensue and he didn't need anymore shit from Elena or to cause anymore stress for Jenna. Looking toward the front of the class he saw the teacher had started writing notes, quickly he began to jot them down as he waited for the blondes answer.

Stefan couldn’t think, seeing Korrie again after so long sparked something inside of him. Feelings that he hadn’t felt since he first saw Korrie, she had wandered off into the gardens of the Salvatore Estate and he had followed her. Her beauty instantly captured his heart, the joy that shone in her dark warm eyes and the smile… her smile could brighten any dark room, he had picked a frangipani from the garden and tucked the flower behind her ear. From that day on they spent nearly waking hour together, talking and getting to know each other, exploring the small town and visiting the lake where they would cool off their feet. But then Katherine arrived in town and everything changed for the worst, he still after all this time wasn’t sure why he chased after Katherine when he loved Korrie.

He knew loved Korrie, maybe he was scared or he had something to prove to his father. But he had ruined everything and broke Korrie’s heart at the same time, then she grew ill and there was nothing he could do for her. Then one day she was gone, he had no idea what happened to her and no one would tell him anything. He always wondered about Korrie and what actually happened to her, later on when he found out that Annabelle was a vampire, he thought maybe Pearl had saved Korrie from dying but he couldn’t be certain. Now he knew, now he knew that Korrie has been out there in the world for years. He could have searched for her, seen her again, apologize to her until she believed how truly sorry he was for everything he did to her.

Maybe now he had the chance, the bell rang and Stefan grabbed his things before following Korrie as she stepped from the classroom and into the busy hallway. Which is when he reached out and caught her arm, “Korrie… please don’t ignore me, don’t run from me.” He continued to keep his voice low as he spoke to her, she was still refusing to look at him which hurt. “I never knew this happened to you as well, if I did then I would have found you. You have to know that I would have,” He begged her as he moved around her body and stepped in front of her, her beauty hadn’t changed since she was human. In fact, she may be even more beautiful now, Stefan stood there in silence as he looked at her and he honestly didn’t care if he was staring because he was.
“My mom needed a break from our life in Atlanta, and she brought a little store in the middle of town which she’s planning on making into a florist.” Callie told Jeremy honestly as it was the truth, she did leave out the part where her father died as she wasn’t ready to tell anyone that. It was still a painful topic for Callie to even think about let along tell someone about, besides she still wasn’t sure if Jeremy was being nice because she was new or because he wanted to talk with her. She hoped it was the latter, as she was enjoying spending time with him so far. She looked at him when he offered to show her around the town, “Really? That would be great, thank you.” She smiled widely at him because she also noticed that the teacher had begun to write notes on the board, which Callie quickly copied down before the bell rang signalling the first class was finished.

Packing up her books she walked out into the hallway with Jeremy beside her, “I can already feel this day dragging on.” She complained as she would much rather be home schooled by her mom or by Korrie, that way she could concentrate on learning more spells and practicing her magic so she could be a great witch like her dad wanted her to be. “I have Maths next, what do you have?” She asked hoping that he’d share more classes with her, she dreaded the thought of finishing this day without Jeremy in at least some of her classes. She didn’t want to deal with being the new girl on her own, and considering Korrie was older than her they weren’t going be sharing any classes together. So she’d feel better if Jeremy was there.

Callie was still following the map of the school but she was also following Jeremy through the crowded hallways, that was until her eyes landed on Korrie. She was standing off to the side and was talking to a guy, a guy that Callie couldn’t see well as his back was facing her. But Korrie seemed off… let she didn’t want to be there, which caused alarm bells to sound in Callie’s head. “Hey, I just need to see my friend for a…” Callie told Jeremy before her voice trailed off to nothing, because her eyes landed on a face that she had only ever seen in an old photo before. But she had heard countless of stories, both from her family and also from Korrie. Callie knew that face from anywhere, she just hadn’t been expecting to see her here of all places and to be so close to Korrie.

    Katherine Pierce.

Callie could feel her heart beating heavily in her chest which echoed in her ears, her eyes were trained on Katherine and the second she stepped towards Korrie blood started to run from her nose. Callie’s emotions had gotten the better of her again, it was something her mom was helping her work on. If her emotions were too strong then Callie found it harder to control her magic.

Korrie looked at Stefan her eyes scanning his hazel ones, "I..." she went to speak but that was when she smelled it, blood. Quickly her eyes locked on the person who was bleeding. It was Callie. "Excuse me," quickly she pushed passed the male that had been blocking her path. Quickly he hurried over to her friend.

"Callie, Callie look at me!" her voice was firm her eyes locked with her friends snapping her out of the trance she had fallen into. Scanning the hallway she found a sign that read restrooms. Grabbing her friends arm she pulled her toward the doors. She started the water up grabbing a heap of paper towel wetting it and beginning to wipe the streaks of blood that had been trailing from her nose. "What... what happened?" she asked eyeing her making sure everything was okay. Something had caused her magic to stir inside her, an impulse that her mother was helping her to control. It had only been the first class and already so much had happened.

She had seen Stefan and a Katherine Pierce lookalike, and now Callie had suffered a nose bleed. Maybe it hadn't been a good idea to enrol into school, or at least come on the first day they had arrived. "Do you want to go? We can pull a sickie?" she threw the paper towel in the bin and stood back looking at her friend.
Jeremy listened as Callie told him that her mother was moving her and was going to open a florist shop. Callie seemed so cheerful, a nice change from his home life where everyone was always so concerned about what was going to happen to them next. Mainly Elena. It was like a breath of fresh air with Callie, the two could talk about something different. The brunette smiled and nodded his head.

"Alright, we could go straight after school if you want? I have nothing planned, except homework but that can wait," he watched as the blonde turned her attention to the board, he followed suit and saw that he had notes he needed to copy. Quickly he scrawled them down just as the bell went. He got to his feet and began to pack his books away before walking out into the hallway. He saw Callie was looking at her map he began to walk and told her to follow him as he saw where she was trying to go. He began to weave through the bodies. As he walked he saw Elena and looking around he saw Stefan however he was talking to someone, someone he had never seen before. That must have been Korrie, the girl Callie had been telling him about. He watched them and before he knew it she had pushed away from Stefan and hurried away to him, Jeremy followed her turning to see that she was now over at Callie. Her nose was bleeding and she had a trance-like look on her face. He was about to walk toward her but stopped when the dark haired female pulled her toward the bathrooms.

He walked over to Stefan and Elena, he noticed the male's eyes were trained on the restrooms.

"What happened there?" he asked. Elena shrugged her shoulders.

"I honestly don't know, who was that by the way Stefan?" his sister's attention turned to the male vampire.

Stefan didn’t get an answer as Korrie pushed past him, at first he thought she just wanted to get away from him but then he smelt fresh blood in the air. Which he was now used to and it wouldn’t affect him, turning he watched Korrie as she made her way over to a younger blonde girl. Her nose was bleeding, Korrie knew her and quickly pulled her away into the girl’s bathroom.

Why would Korrie know and help a human girl? How did they know each other? Did they come to Mystic Falls together? The blonde girl had been walking beside Jeremy, was the blonde actually completely human? The thoughts clouded Stefan’s mind before Jeremy’s voice hit his ears, he looked between the siblings and knew better than to lie to them. “I knew Korrie a very long time ago, did the girls come to town together?” He turned his attention onto Jeremy as he might have talked to the blonde, could Korrie be here because of the tomb?

Stefan had so many questions and no answers yet, he needed to speak with Korrie but after what just happened he might not get the chance to any time soon. If he couldn’t speak with Korrie, all of this would weigh on his mind until he got the answers he was seeking. He hoped it wouldn’t take until the end of day, he also just wanted to catch up with Korrie. Listen to her soft voice which he had missed so much, her voice had always been able to calm him and relax him.

He finally noticed the uncertainty on Elena’s face, “We can trust them. I trust Korrie completely and she wouldn’t make friends with just anyone,” He explained to the Gilbert siblings, he was tempted to ask Jeremy if he could do some digging with the blonde girl but decided against it as he didn’t want to involve Jeremy any more than he already was. And he had to earn Jeremy’s trust back, he couldn’t force the teenage boy to do anything. “Do you know the blonde’s name?” He asked Jeremy as he was still standing there, surprisingly considering he wasn’t the biggest fan of his sister right now.
Callie stepped into the bathroom and watched as Korrie wiped away the blood from under her nose, she hadn’t even noticed her nose had started to bleed. “Katherine Pierce is here, didn’t you see her? Why haven’t you torn her into pieces?” Callie looked at her friend, confused as to why Korrie hasn’t taken her revenge on the vampire who ruined her life. “If you aren’t, then I will.” She knew Katherine was much older than Korrie, but Callie was sure she had enough power to defeat Katherine Pierce once and for all. She exhaled slowly as she could feel her emotions and magic bubbling up again, she shut her eyes until she had calmed herself down. Callie didn’t normally have a temper but when her family was hurt or threaten, then Callie would do everything in her power to keep her family safe and that included Korrie.

A frown settled onto her face when Korrie chuckled softly and shook her head, she spoke about the girl not being Katherine. She wasn’t sure why this Elena girl looked exactly like Katherine, but she promised that it wasn’t because she was human. “But I’ve seen the photo of Katherine, that has to her.” Callie couldn’t understand any of this, but she shook her head as she didn’t want to skip the rest of the day. “No, I’m fine. Besides it’ll only make Mom worry more and she’s been through enough, and a boy is going to show me around town after school.” Callie tried to hide the smile as she briefly told Korrie about Jeremy, she couldn’t wait to spend more time with him and it also gave her a chance to explore the town that Korrie had lived in long ago.

“I can tell him no, if you wanted me to go to the tomb and find Stefan.” And that is partly the reason they moved back to Mystic Falls, the Hudson family had never lived in Mystic Falls but Callie heard stories of her ancestors passing through the town every now and again. Which is how her great-great-great grandfather, Jeremiah, first met Korrie. She glanced into the mirror to make sure she looked okay as she knew the next class was going to begin soon, “You don’t have to stay at school. If Stefan is stuck in that tomb, you can go get him.” Callie looked to her brunette friend only to see a biting down onto her bottom lip, “What? What is it?” Korrie knew something that she hasn’t shared with Callie yet, and she wanted to know what it was.

"Uh... well... yes about that... uhmm," Korrie stumbled over her words as she remembered that Stefan wasn't in the tomb, nor is he far away, he is in this school right now. "He's not in the tomb... he's here actually," she winced at the words, he was here, he was a vampire and he wanted to talk to her. Korrie honestly thought she could do it but whenever the male came around her all she felt was heartbreak and anger. The last thing she wanted to do was talk to him. At this moment anyway. "Anyway off the subject of Stefan... so a boy is going to show you around Mystic Falls? oooo, who is he? Is he cute? Are you excited?" the questions tumbled from the brunette's lips as she looked at her friend. She saw the smile that was spreading across Callie's face, it warmed her heart to see her happy, that was all Korrie had ever wanted for her, was to see her happy. Especially after everything she had been through.

Korrie knew that she would have to leave the protection of the female toilets soon and face Stefan again. What was she going to say to him? Was she going to be able to talk? She hated that after all these years he still had a hold on her. However the dark haired female wondered. If Stefan was here did that mean Damon was too? Damon the older brother, the one she used to play practical jokes on, her best friend. When he went away to war she was worried she would never see him again, however she never saw him again because Katherine entered the scene severing that relationship to. A searing hot anger bubbled inside her, she wanted Katherine dead so badly. Even when she became a vampire she had never felt this much anger. She hated the vampire with a passion.

"Well I suppose we had better get back to school, no more blood noses please!" she scolded teasingly before wrapping her arms around Callie and the two walked out together. They stopped just outside the toilet when a dark haired male came racing up to Callie. Korrie dropped her arm and looked at him. Why did he look so familiar?
"Callie, her name is Callie," Jeremy said looking between Stefan and Elena. Jeremy's looked at Stefan, how did he know the dark haired girl? Was she a vampire? If Korrie was a vampire what did that make Callie? Was she a human or something else? The questions buzzed through his mind. However he didn't have long for his thoughts to linger before the door to the female bathroom's opened up and Callie appeared.

"Callie!" he called out hurrying toward her. "Hey, are you alright?" his dark eyes looked over her face, she looked fine, there were no traced of blood that would signify she had just suffered a blood nose. His attention moved over to the female beside her. Korrie, as Stefan had called her.

"Hi there, I'm Jeremy Gilbert," he noticed how her eyes widened slightly before extending her hand.

"Korrie Langston, nice to meet you Jeremy," he shook her hand and smiled before his attention turned back to the blonde.

"You still good for this afternoon? If your not we can postpone it and do it another day," he said, he didn't want to show her around if she wasn't feeling too good.

Callie’s face showed pure shock when Korrie told her that Stefan wasn’t in the tomb, her lips parted as she stared at her friend. “He is?” She didn’t know what else she could say, she couldn’t imagine what Korrie was going through right now. The man she loved for centuries hadn’t been locked in a tomb, after all this time he had been living his life without Korrie knowing. “You need to talk to him, Kor.” She told her friend knowing it would be hard for the vampire, but it was something that had to happen sooner or later. “His name is Jeremy and yeah, I’m looking forward to it. But I swear if you embarrass me in front of him, I’ll take away your daylight ring.” There wasn’t any real threat in Callie’s words, but she still didn’t want Korrie to say anything embarrassing around Jeremy.

She wanted to give him the impression that she was normal and cool to spend time with, she nodded her head lightly when Korrie mentioned they couldn’t hide away in the bathroom. “I’ll be fine,” She assured her friend before they both exited the girls’ bathroom, she quickly glanced over as she wanted to see Stefan for herself for the first time. But who she saw beside him caused anger to bubble inside her chest, Katherine Pierce. Callie would have to deal with her later, after school ended for the day.

“He’s cute,” Callie whispered to Korrie as she smiled suggestively at her vampire best friend, however her attention was captured by Jeremy who had been standing with Stefan and Katherine. Did he know Katherine? Was he a vampire as well? She hoped that he wasn’t, but what was he doing with vampires? Did he know about the supernatural creatures that actually existed? “Yeah, I’m fine. Must have been from the stress of moving,” She brushed it away as to not give herself away, her eyes moved between Korrie and Jeremy as they met each other before her eyes moved back onto Jeremy.

“No, this afternoon will still be great. But we better get going, I’m not being late on my first day.” She glanced over to Korrie and sent her a look, the look that told the vampire that she needed to talk to Stefan and preferably that day. “I’ll see you later, Kor.” Callie spoke before she turned and continued to follow Jeremy to their next class, so much for the plan they made to rescue Stefan and his brother Damon from the tomb. Well that is if Damon was wandering around like Stefan was, she had only heard stories of the things Korrie and Damon got up to while they were still human.
Stefan didn’t know who this Callie girl was, it would be another question that he wanted to ask Korrie if she ever decided she wanted to talk to him again. “I’ll catch up to you,” He told Elena although didn’t look at her, his eyes were focused on Korrie when she had stepped back into the hallway. He waited until the blonde left with Jeremy before he moved over to the gorgeous brunette, “Korrie please. You can try to ignore me and avoid me, but we both know how small this town is. Besides Damon will want to see you again as well,” He kept his voice low, not that anyone was paying attention to them but he couldn’t be too sure that no one would accidently over hear what he was saying.

Stefan knew that no matter how angry Korrie was, she would always have time for his older brother. She had gotten along with him the second they met, he remembered how Damon used to see Korrie as the little sister he never had. It was a relationship that sometimes made Stefan feel jealous, although he was still close to Korrie. She had a different relationship with Damon but they used to spend so much time together, time that Stefan wanted with her but yet he never said anything because he knew that Damon needed a good friend in his life.

Especially when he dropped out of the army and returned home, their father had been furious at his eldest son. “We searched for you, once we could control ourselves. But we figured out that Pearl had gotten trapped in the tomb, we weren’t sure if you were with Annabelle or what happened to you.” He admitted to her as he had searched for her, he gave a few years of his live to searching for her but he always came up emptied handed which made him to believe that she had gotten away and lived a happy life until she died or she hadn’t made it away from the hell that happened that night and she died. Never once had Stefan thought about what if Korrie had been turned into a vampire, now it made sense as she had been so close to Annabelle.

Korrie had been heading toward her next class when Stefan caught up with her, the dark haired female stopped walking and turned to face him, most of the students had now entered their classrooms, her light eyes scanned over him once again and it took every ounce of strength not to kiss him, to feel his lips against hers, again.

"You would be surprised Stefan, you got pretty good at avoiding me when Katherine came to town, I am sure I will be just as good," she was about to walk away when he mentioned Damon. The mention of the elder Salvatore brother and the memories that were attached to him. When the male said that he and his brother had gone searching for her she sighed her demeanour deflating. Even when she wanted to be mad, when she wanted to be cold and torture him she couldn't because deep down she loved him too much.

"I want to see Damon," was all she said before she continued to walk to her class. "I will find you after school," she said over her shoulder knowing he would be able to hear her. She knew that she was going to have to talk to Stefan and sort everything out but that could wait until after she had seen his brother. Damon was like a brother to her. Korrie had never had any siblings and when she entered her engagement with Stefan Damon had clicked with her in a way that siblings normally did.
Jeremy's gaze flicked between the two women, the two friends before he followed Callie to her next class which surprisingly was the same one he had.

"Do we have all our classes together?" he asked his tone light and playful. He wouldn't be against it. He liked Callie, she was pretty and there was so much more to her that he wanted to learn about. Today after school while he shows her around Mystic, perhaps he will ask her more personal questions for example. How her friend Korrie is connected to Stefan and if she was going to be a problem. Even though Jermey was mad at his sister he still didn't want her in any trouble with another person. The two walked into their next class together, the male walked toward the back of the class and took a seat, turning to see where Callie was going to sit, he hoped it would be next to him

Stefan had wanted to stop Korrie, talk to her more and explain everything now that he could. Now that he knew she was alive, he wasn’t sure how much longer she’d be in town considering what had happened to her the last time she was in Mystic Falls. But he decided against it when the bell rang, he didn’t want to get them into trouble by being late to class or skipping the entire lesson. So he continued on with the day, which seemed to drag on and on. He couldn’t concentrate on anything that was being said to him, not even when Elena tried talking to him because all he could think about was Korrie.

Seeing her again brought back all the memories they shared together, the good and the bad. All the days they spent together, the times he kissed her and held her body close to his. The gifts he showered her with even though she tried to argue with him and refuse the gifts, Stefan always made sure he’d win because he wanted to give Korrie the world. She was still stunningly beautiful, both inside and out which always used to attract unwanted attention but both Stefan and Damon made sure to protect the young beauty from any harm.

By the end of the day Stefan was about ready to tear his hair out, he only briefly stopped by his locker to dump his text books before he was off again in the direction of Korrie. He just needed to see her again, make sure she hadn’t skipped town. “Are you ready, my lov…” Stefan dropped his sentence before he could finish, it was a habit that came back the second he saw her but he didn’t want to push things with the brunette. He knew better than that, especially after what he had done to her and how he broke her heart into a million pieces.
“Trying to get rid of me, already?” Callie grinned as she followed Jeremy to their next class, throughout the day they shared a few more classes but then also had some classes on their own. They ended the day in the art studio which was Callie favourite subject, she had always held a deep passion for art. No matter if she was drawing, taking photos or making something from clay, however painting was what she went back to. She painted when she needed to think, it could calm her down or forget why she was sad. She would paint anything and everything, although she never understood why because never of her parents had a creative bone in their bodies.

Once the bell rang, Callie walked back to her locker to collect any homework that she had been given and shoved the books into her backpack. She was excited about having Jeremy show her around the town, she would have asked Korrie to do it but Callie wanted her friend to talk to Stefan which wouldn’t happen if she was hanging around them. She had also noticed during the day that Jeremy was wearing a ring, a ring that she knew but had never seen before. A ring that a human wore as it would protect them from any supernatural creature killing them, which meant Jeremy was human and that relieved Callie more than she expected.

The last thing she wanted was to make friends with someone she couldn’t trust, so when she saw him heading her way she smiled at him. “Where are we going to first?” She asked him as she slung her backpack straps over her shoulders, she wanted to get out of the school and see the town where Korrie had briefly lived before Katherine ruined everything.

Korrie had gone about her day trying desperately to keep Stefan from her thoughts but she had magnificently failed. She had tried to keep her attention on her teachers but only a few minutes into the lesson her thoughts would wander and instantly she would be taken back to a time when her and Stefan had been happy. Had been in love. Times had been so simple, arranged marriages, childbirth, social get togethers nothing difficult, Korrie had known what her life would have been like. She would have been Korrie Salvatore, she would have given birth to healthy children and been the wife that her husband wanted and needed. However it was cut short. Now it was more complicated. She was immortal, she had spent last century watching people she knew and loved die, protecting a family line all the while trying to mask the love, bitterness and want in her heart with a whirlwind of men, blood and alcohol.

Now here she was sitting in High School in her old home with her ex fiancé while trying to protect her best friend from any dangers that may arise. It couldn't get much more complicated with this. School had finished and she dumped her books into her locker before walking out. Not before seeing Callie and Jeremy leaving together, a smile spread across her face. This was what she needed. Normality.

Korrie walked out of the school and saw Stefan he was standing over by what she assumed was his car. When he spoke her heart began to race at what he was about to call her. She wanted him to finish it but instead the words silenced on his lips and her hope ran out.

"Hello Stefan... Nice car," she nodded her head at the bright red Porsche playing with the straps of her school bag. She didn't know what else to say. "How long have you and your brother been back home?" it was the first thing that came to her mind
"Not at all," he laughed as the two walked to their next class together. After that there weren't many classes they had together and the last class he had was Physical Education. By the end of the class he raced the she showers washed and changed before hurrying to meet the blonde. They had decided to meet up in just outside the school car park.

"Hey to you to," he smiled when he reached her finally. "There is so much to see, how about we start here and see where the walk takes us... but we will most likely finish at the grill. No doubt we would have worked ourselves up an appetite," he smiled before the two began to walk off together. As he looked back he saw Stefan and the girl from earlier Korrie. They were talking.

"Hey are you and Korrie like sisters or something?" he asked turning to look at the blonde, questions were forming in his mind about Callie and Korrie.

Stefan was fairly certain he saw a flash of disappointment cross Korrie’s beautiful dark brown eyes when he didn’t finish his sentence completely, although he had wanted to call her love as he used to call her sweet names all the time. But that had been a different time, they had both still been human and had been deeply in love. Of course Stefan hadn’t stopped thinking about her and his heart still held love for her, that hadn’t changed over the centuries but times were different now and things were more complicated.

“Thank you, Korrie.” He watched her as she walked over to him, part of him felt like he wanted to kiss her and have everything go back to how it had once been. But then the other part of him felt a little awkward and uncomfortable, like he didn’t know what to say or how to act around Korrie.

Which he then felt stupid about because it was Korrie, yes it has been a century since he last saw her and they were both vampires now but she was still Korrie. She was still the same girl he loved and adored, the same girl that would always laugh at his jokes no matter if the joke wasn’t funny.

“We’ve been here just over a year now,” He answered her question as they stood there by his car, “Have you been alright?” He asked before realising how dumb of a question that was, “Do you live with Callie?” He asked as it was a question that was burning on his tongue, he had caught Callie’s scent earlier in the day and she was human. Although werewolves are humans until they trigger the curse inside them, and witches are also human so Stefan wanted to know more about the blonde girl that Korrie is close to.

But at the same time he didn’t want to come across as being nosy or not interested in Korrie, because he was definitely still interested in the gorgeous brunette that still managed to take his breath away. Stefan moved closer to Korrie but reached around her, as he opened the car door for her which reminded him of when he held open the carriage door and helped her in or out of the horse pulled carriage.
Callie was excited to have Jeremy show her around the town, she normally would have gone exploring with Korrie but she thought that might bring up memories for her best friends. Memories that she might not want to relive any time soon, and it was nice to have already made a friend on her first day in Mystic Falls. So she allowed Jeremy to lead the way away from the high school, her eyes were already wandering until he asked about Korrie.

How was she supposed to answer that, normally she would have lied and said yes. But she didn’t want to lie to Jeremy, and as she glanced down at the ring he wore on his finger. Callie felt torn, if he wore that ring he had to know what it would save him from and she had seen him standing with Stefan and Katherine earlier in the day. So he had to know they were vampires, right?

But her mom had moved here so they could get away from all of that, so it would have been easier to lie to him. But then he’d find out the truth eventually and she didn’t want to lose the first friend she’s made in the town, so she decided to do what felt right to her.

“We are, although not by blood. I’ve just grown up with her, she’s always been there for me. You’ll really like her,” She glanced beside her at Jeremy to see how far she could go without causing him to freak out and think she’s crazy, “I know what your ring is for. And I saw you talking to Stefan and Katherine before, you can’t trust her, Jeremy.” She looked at him as she spoke, concern filled her baby blue eyes as she didn’t want Katherine to use him like she had done to so many people before.

Katherine Pierce was the reason why Korrie lost Stefan all those years ago, she was the reason why Korrie was now a vampire because if Katherine had decided to leave Stefan alone then he would have married Korrie and they would have gone on with their lives. She didn’t want Jeremy to end up having the same fate as Stefan, or any of Katherine’s victims.

Korrie nodded her head as she listened to the male talk, he had been in Mystic for a year now. When Stefan asked about Callie she instantly wanted to blurt the truth to him but she chose to refrain instead she kept her answer simple.

"Yes I do..." the urge to continue was strong but she kept it inside it wasn't her story to tell to anyone as to why she had returned to Mystic Falls with Callie or the fact that her family were under her protection from a bad person who may or may not be seeking them out.

"What brought you back to Mystic Falls? Was it Elena?" she couldn't help the bitterness that seeped into her words as she mentioned the Katherine look alike. It wasn't as if one was enough but now there was another one. As the two stood in the car park she felt eyes on her, lifting her head she saw that Elena and two other girls were looking in their direction. Korrie cleared her throat. "I think your girlfriend is looking at us... she looks confused. Maybe this is a bad idea... perhaps I should just go and find Damon myself."
Jeremy smiled as Callie talked about Korrie she seemed to light up , become more animated when she talked about the woman, their relationship must be something strong. When she admitted that they were sister but not by blood he raised his eye brows quizzically.

“So she’s like your best friend?” having an older sister he knew a little bit about the way their friendships worked. Going on Elena, Bonnie and Caroline’s friendship their bond was something a little stronger than friends. Sisters even. The dark haired male looked down the ring that was slipped over his finger.

“How do you know about… are you… are you a witch?” the questioned rolled off his tongue and he didn’t even bother to lower his voice, the supernatural was a common occurrence around this place. As soon as she mentioned Stefan and ‘Katherine’ a laugh left his lips.

“Sorry… that girl that was with Stefan wasn’t Katherine, that was my sister Elena… well cousin… long story… but yes she is related to Katherine… but no it is not her. How do you even know about Katherine Pierce?” genuine curiosity had him desperately wanting to know how much this woman knew about the supernatural.
