Stefan couldn’t think, seeing Korrie again after so long sparked something inside of him. Feelings that he hadn’t felt since he first saw Korrie, she had wandered off into the gardens of the Salvatore Estate and he had followed her. Her beauty instantly captured his heart, the joy that shone in her dark warm eyes and the smile… her smile could brighten any dark room, he had picked a frangipani from the garden and tucked the flower behind her ear. From that day on they spent nearly waking hour together, talking and getting to know each other, exploring the small town and visiting the lake where they would cool off their feet. But then Katherine arrived in town and everything changed for the worst, he still after all this time wasn’t sure why he chased after Katherine when he loved Korrie.
He knew loved Korrie, maybe he was scared or he had something to prove to his father. But he had ruined everything and broke Korrie’s heart at the same time, then she grew ill and there was nothing he could do for her. Then one day she was gone, he had no idea what happened to her and no one would tell him anything. He always wondered about Korrie and what actually happened to her, later on when he found out that Annabelle was a vampire, he thought maybe Pearl had saved Korrie from dying but he couldn’t be certain. Now he knew, now he knew that Korrie has been out there in the world for years. He could have searched for her, seen her again, apologize to her until she believed how truly sorry he was for everything he did to her.
Maybe now he had the chance, the bell rang and Stefan grabbed his things before following Korrie as she stepped from the classroom and into the busy hallway. Which is when he reached out and caught her arm, “Korrie… please don’t ignore me, don’t run from me.” He continued to keep his voice low as he spoke to her, she was still refusing to look at him which hurt. “I never knew this happened to you as well, if I did then I would have found you. You have to know that I would have,” He begged her as he moved around her body and stepped in front of her, her beauty hadn’t changed since she was human. In fact, she may be even more beautiful now, Stefan stood there in silence as he looked at her and he honestly didn’t care if he was staring because he was.
“My mom needed a break from our life in Atlanta, and she brought a little store in the middle of town which she’s planning on making into a florist.” Callie told Jeremy honestly as it was the truth, she did leave out the part where her father died as she wasn’t ready to tell anyone that. It was still a painful topic for Callie to even think about let along tell someone about, besides she still wasn’t sure if Jeremy was being nice because she was new or because he wanted to talk with her. She hoped it was the latter, as she was enjoying spending time with him so far. She looked at him when he offered to show her around the town, “Really? That would be great, thank you.” She smiled widely at him because she also noticed that the teacher had begun to write notes on the board, which Callie quickly copied down before the bell rang signalling the first class was finished.
Packing up her books she walked out into the hallway with Jeremy beside her, “I can already feel this day dragging on.” She complained as she would much rather be home schooled by her mom or by Korrie, that way she could concentrate on learning more spells and practicing her magic so she could be a great witch like her dad wanted her to be. “I have Maths next, what do you have?” She asked hoping that he’d share more classes with her, she dreaded the thought of finishing this day without Jeremy in at least some of her classes. She didn’t want to deal with being the new girl on her own, and considering Korrie was older than her they weren’t going be sharing any classes together. So she’d feel better if Jeremy was there.
Callie was still following the map of the school but she was also following Jeremy through the crowded hallways, that was until her eyes landed on Korrie. She was standing off to the side and was talking to a guy, a guy that Callie couldn’t see well as his back was facing her. But Korrie seemed off… let she didn’t want to be there, which caused alarm bells to sound in Callie’s head. “Hey, I just need to see my friend for a…” Callie told Jeremy before her voice trailed off to nothing, because her eyes landed on a face that she had only ever seen in an old photo before. But she had heard countless of stories, both from her family and also from Korrie. Callie knew that face from anywhere, she just hadn’t been expecting to see her here of all places and to be so close to Korrie.
Katherine Pierce.
Callie could feel her heart beating heavily in her chest which echoed in her ears, her eyes were trained on Katherine and the second she stepped towards Korrie blood started to run from her nose. Callie’s emotions had gotten the better of her again, it was something her mom was helping her work on. If her emotions were too strong then Callie found it harder to control her magic.
