    (That works!)

"I'm... With Klaus," Alice answered after a moment, though she cringed, because she worried about how Tegan might react. She wasn't sure how much more anger she could take from Tegan tonight without her concerns getting worse. After all, she didn't want to lose Tegan's trust or anything. Sighing, she rubbed the back of her neck as she moved to find a place to sit and leaned back a bit in an attempt to relax. How was she going to find the right words to explain everything to Tegan without having Tegan panic and freak out again? She worried she'd just make things worse.

"Grace is here. I don't really know how she found the place or anything, but... She's here and she's safe. She's spending time with Klaus." She cringed again, because she knew Tegan wouldn't like that. "I really think you should talk to him, Tegan... He just wants to be there for his daughter... He wants to protect her... He even said he'd die for her if it came to that." Chewing on her lip, she rubbed at her face for a moment. "Besides... Having basically an unkillable hybrid on our side would help a lot in protecting Grace. And having his siblings as well."

“Alice…” Tegan whispered as she felt the tears well up in her eyes, but hearing her daughter was safe and with Alice was relief. “I don’t need to talk to Klaus, because talking to him isn’t going to change the things he’s done in his life. It wouldn’t change how his enemies feel about him, it won’t change the fact that my little girl will have a target on her back if people found out that she’s Klaus’ daughter.” Tegan spoke as she made herself sit down on the couch in the living room, sighing she ran her fingers with her raven hair.

“I know he’ll protect her and love her, but what if she’s at school and someone attacks her? If none of us are there for her, who will protect her then?” Losing Grace was her biggest fear, she could somewhat deal with Klaus being in Grace’s life and he would have if he wasn’t the monster that he has always been. If he didn’t hurt people then he wouldn’t have enemies, and Tegan would feel like she didn’t have to run.

“I know you love him, Alice. But I can’t lose her too, I still haven’t dealt with Joe’s death. This is how I know to keep her safe, if we run then no one will find out who she is.” Tegan tried to explain to her friend, she didn’t want to move again but it was how Grace would stay safe. “You can stay here with him, but I need to get Grace away before someone finds out and starts telling people.” Tegan would let Alice stay, she couldn’t keep telling the vampire what to do and Tegan knew that she was Klaus’ only true love that wasn’t his family.

"Klaus has younger siblings, Tegan, ones who can go to school with Grace and protect her," Alice pointed out quietly. "And family means just as much to them as it does to Klaus. They wouldn't let anything happen to her. Having an entire family of original vampires on your side could really protect Grace in the end." She chewed on her lip, hoping that she could find some way to convince Tegan but it was difficult when she knew how much Tegan distrusted and disliked Klaus, and how much she worried for her daughter.

"And, even if his siblings weren't involved, I could... Turn somebody and Klaus could compel them to protect Grace." Alice had never thought about turning anybody a day in her life, but she wanted Tegan to know the lengths she'd go to in order to protect Grace, and the lengths that she knew Klaus would go to. Klaus would kill anybody for just looking at him wrong; Alice could only imagine what he would do to somebody who even threatened to hurt his daughter. She wanted Tegan to understand that, really, Mystic Falls, next to her father, may be the safest place for Grace.

"Running isn't going to keep her safe forever, Tegan. You're a witch, you're mortal. You'll die eventually. What's going to happen to Grace when she's all alone? And, running constantly won't protect her identity forever, either. Klaus has found her, has found you so many times - who's to say that others aren't already searching?" She sighed, though, and looked down at her lap. "You know I wouldn't be able to stay here if you take Grace, Tegan. I swore to stay by your family centuries ago, I can't just abandon that. I can't abandon you and Grace, no matter how much I love Klaus."

Tegan was torn, she wanted to run away again but another part of her believed Alice. But her mind was made for her when Alice said that she loved Klaus, how could she keep Alice from the man she loved? After all the support Alice gave Tegan when she met Joe, the support Alice gave when Grace was born. Sighing heavily Tegan pinched the bridge of her nose, “We both know if you turned someone, you’d hate yourself for it. And I don’t want you to turn anyone… promise me that you trust him, trust him and believe him completely.” She already knew what Alice’s answer would be, she saw passed what everyone else saw of Klaus. She didn’t see the monster, Tegan had also seen that side of Klaus when they hooked up.

“As long as someone will be at the school with her through the day, and we don’t draw any attention to ourselves… you can tell Grace that we’ll stay, but if she’s hurt in any way possible then we will be leaving town.” Tegan spoke and it was so hard for her, to put her trust in someone like Klaus but she had too. Now that Grace knew who he was, even if they did leave Mystic Falls it wouldn’t stop her daughter from asking questions and wanting to know her father. She knew Grace would eventually find out, she hadn’t planned on it being so soon but Tegan knew it would happen at same stage.

“You can both stay there tonight, I need a few bottles of wine. Just make sure Grace goes to school tomorrow,” Tegan needed to let go, she had to stop being the over bearable parent. Maybe Klaus would step up in the way she hoped and would help raise their daughter, Tegan knew as long as Alice was around then he would. Tegan knew Klaus never loved her and she never loved him, because he had always loved Alice. No matter how long they went without seeing each other, their love would survive anything.

Hearing her friend's words, Alice's expression softened, and she couldn't help the relief that flooded through her. "I do, Tegan," she promised quietly, "I trust him and believe him with my entire heart." She knew Klaus. She knew who he was, what he was, how he was. She knew the good and the bad and the horrible. And she accepted all of it. But, knowing all of it also made it so that she knew how genuine he'd been when he'd talked about protecting Grace. She knew the ends he would go to in order to keep his daughter alive.

She nodded in understanding when she heard Tegan's conditions. She was sure they'd figure something out; she could ask Klaus about Rebekah, see if he could convince her to go to school with Grace. Or, if he could undagger her, if she was daggered; she wasn't sure, because she knew Klaus tended to do so if he felt it was necessary, even when it wasn't. "I understand. I'll make sure to let them both know," she promised, because she knew it was necessary for Klaus to know as well. It would be bad if Alice, Tegan, or Grace attracted attention, but if Klaus attracting attention, it would be horrible.

But, she definitely didn't expect for Tegan to allow them to stay the night. Regardless, she was quick to nod. "I have an extra outfit of hers in my car. I'll make sure she gets to school," she assured. She always had an extra outfit for each of them in case they had to flee and didn't have the time to pack. "Call me if you need me, Tegan," she told her friend quietly before she hung up. Breathing out, she could feel the happiness and excitement flooding and flowing through her but she pocketed her phone and focused on going to find Klaus and Grace to fill them in.

Klaus was sitting in a chair in the bedroom he had planned for his daughter, though he never thought it would actually be hers. But here she was, fast asleep in bed and he couldn’t look away from her. It was only when he heard the soft footsteps coming down the hallway, he looked over to the open door when Alice appeared. Quietly he stood up and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him.

“Today must have taken it out of her,” He told Alice as he didn’t want to wake Grace so he kept his voice light. “What did Tegan say?” He asked as he hadn’t listened in on their conversation this time, he had been too busy watching Grace explore his new home. He was in awe of her, so he couldn’t help but watch her.

He didn’t have much hope in Tegan agreeing to stay in Mystic Falls, he had already prepared himself to follow the small family. He would find them over and over again if Tegan continued to run from him, he would do so until he died. Which couldn’t be done, so he would just wait until Tegan gave in or she got too old to run away from him.

For a moment, Alice thought about teasing Klaus, pranking him and letting him believe that Tegan had decided that they needed to leave right away, if even only for a moment. But, seeing him, knowing he was real and there and the thought that pulling a prank like that might not end up being amusing at all, she pushed the thought aside and watched him for a few moments. So, instead, she offered a small smile.

"She said that, as long as somebody is with Grace at school, and we don't draw attention to ourselves or Grace doesn't get hurt, then we can stay," she told him quietly, observing him for a moment, tilting her head before she leaned against the wall and looked towards the door. She wished Grace would have been awake for her to hear this, but she supposed that, as long as Grace was happy right now, that was all that mattered.

"Even better, she gave Grace and I permission to stay here tonight, so long as I ensure that Grace goes to school tomorrow." Her smile turned into a grin and she looked back up to Klaus, unable to really help but to express her happiness in some way. Shifting, she pushed off the wall and moved to hug him, burying her face against him. "We get to stay, Klaus," she breathed out with relief.

Klaus had expected to hear the worst, to stand back and watch as Alice took Grace down to her car while he did nothing. Of course, there was a lot he could do to keep his daughter in his life. But none of them would make Grace happy, there had been many times where Klaus thought about and was tempted to take Grace away. So, Tegan would know the pain that he felt every single day that Grace was away from him. But he never did, because he knew Grace would miss her family too much and that would cause her to be miserable.

But when Alice told him what Tegan had decided, he was speechless. He had no idea what to say. “You’re staying…” He repeated to make sure that is what Alice said and he wasn’t just hearing what he wanted her to say, somehow Alice had convinced Tegan to stay in Mystic Falls and allowed him to be in their daughter’s life.

Wrapping his arms around her small body, he pressed his lips to the top of her head. “You always could speak to people, make them realise what the right thing to do was. I’ve always admired you for that,” His voice was soft, he didn’t dare wake the teenage girl who was fast asleep. “I will help you in the morning to make sure Grace isn’t a second late and… I will remove the stake from Rebecca.” Klaus held Alice close to his body, his thumb gently moved her chin so she was looking at him.

Leaning in he kissed her lips, he kissed her deeply and passionately as he wanted to show her how much he still loved her. And how grateful he was that she had been in Grace’s life since the start, and just how much he had missed her.

Alice couldn't help but to grin at the fact that Klaus had very much been speechless. She was so happy she could cry, but she was more focused on the fact that Klaus seemed as relieved and happy as she felt. "Yeah, we're staying," she confirmed quietly, nodding slightly, though she couldn't describe all the emotions that flooded through her, all good feelings. A quiet laugh escaped her as she leaned into his hold, shaking her head slightly. "I didn't even say much. It surprised me that she agreed."

She would have said more, but she was taken by surprise with the feeling of him getting her to look at him and his lips on hers. A small grin formed on her features as she returned his kiss, relaxing into it while her arms wrapped around his neck. She'd missed this, she'd missed him. Every worry ebbed away in his presence, because she had always felt safe with him around. And, more than anything, she felt happy there, like it was where she belonged, like it was where she'd always belonged. She loved him more than she probably should, but she didn't really care; she was happy.

Klaus stood on the porch of his new home, he had made sure Grace had enough time that morning to get herself ready before Alice drove her to the high school. He didn’t want his daughter to leave, but knew she had to. It would keep her mother happy, which would allow him to be in his daughter’s life and so he could be with Alice once again. He was currently waiting for Alice to return safely, he knew he would need to remove the dagger from his younger sister as soon as possible. So Grace would have someone at the high school with her, to make sure she was constantly safe and no one found out who her father was.

He smiled when he saw Alice’s car drive up the driveway before she parked, he was standing beside her car in a second and opened the door for her. “How did it go?” He asked, he was slightly concerned that this secret would be revealed somehow. And he knew who would target his daughter first, the Salvatore brothers and Elena Gilbert. He had already tortured them, he had killed Jenna and he over all hadn’t done anything nice to any of them. “I will go see Rebecca today, would you like to join me?” He asked as he looked at Alice, how she was so beautiful still stunned him.
Grace had the best morning, Alice told her how her mom agreed to stay in town as long as she stayed protected and their secret stayed between them. She was shocked as she had been prepared to leave town just like all the other times, she had already called her mom to thank her and apologize for not going home last night. Surprisingly she hadn’t been grounded for how she acted, she guessed her mom realised that Grace needed some time to process everything she had learnt. Alice had driven her to school which she apparently had to go to, it didn’t matter that she wanted to spend time with Klaus and get to know him.

Walking into her first class, she smiled as she sat down beside Jeremy. “Looks like your stuck with me, Mom actually agreed to stay.” She looked at him as she had wanted to tell him in person, she couldn’t remember a time recently where she had felt that happy. She didn’t have to move again, she didn’t have to leave Jeremy and she could know her biological father if she so wished. She still hadn’t decided if she did, she knew some of the things that he had done but then Alice loved him so he couldn’t be as evil as what the stories of him made him out to be.

It still felt surreal to know that they were staying; it still felt surreal to even be around Klaus, but Alice was beyond happy with it as well. Looking to him when he opened her door, she offered a small smile as she climbed out of the car. “It went alright,” she assured him as she climbed out of the car. “I don’t think she was super happy about having to go to school, but she’s happy she gets to stay and that she gets to know you.” And, she was glad about it, she was; knowing that Grace would get to know Klaus and Klaus would get to know Grace, she was glad for them, because they deserved it.

“I think she’s even more excited for school to end than usual,” she joked lightly, offering a small grin before she shrugged, though she nodded slightly to the mention of Rebekah. “Yeah, I’d like to come along. We can go now, if you want? The sooner Grace has help and protection at school, the better.” It would also help to put Tegan’s concerns at ease, since Grace needed that protection and Tegan would likely fret until it was there with Grace. It could help to get Tegan to trust Klaus a bit more, too. It’d make things better and easier overall and she was sure they needed to do that as much as possible.
Really, Jeremy had begun to think that Grace wouldn’t show up that day, that she and her mom and Alice had hightailed it out of Mystic Falls the first chance they got. He couldn’t say that he would have blamed them, given his knowledge of Klaus’s behavior and how quick Klaus was to stir up trouble for everybody. When Grace entered the room, though, he couldn’t help but to find himself both surprised and relieved. Grace was the first person he’d had a chance to really get along with and get to know without a problem in a long time. And, now, it looked like he’d get the chance to grow closer to her - and he was excited about that.

“Well, if I’m stuck with you, we might as well make it worth it,” he teased lightly, laughing softly to himself before he leaned back in his seat, glancing over to her for a moment. He felt his heart lift a bit, knowing that she was there, that they’d get to hang out more, that he’d get to learn more about her. “I guess that means we have to do everything in our power to make sure she doesn’t end up having a reason to change her mind, then, huh?” He smiled, watching her, taking her in. He didn’t want her to leave, so he’d do everything he could to help her, to ensure that she’d get to stay. “Ready to put our thinking hats on?” he joked.

“Yes, well if Tegan wishes for Grace to continue on attending school then she will.” Klaus looked at Alice, he knew better than to go against Tegan’s wishes for their daughter. Especially so soon after she agreed to have him in their daughter’s life, of course, he wanted Grace to do well in school but he also wanted he spend time with her and school did get in the way of that. So, he would patiently wait until Grace got home after school. “Besides it will be good for her to be around children her own age, I’m surprised she’s willingly spent so much of her time with someone so old.” He joked as he sent Alice a cheeky grin, he was even older than Alice but he still enjoyed teasing her about her age.

Nodding his head lightly, “We can go now. Although I must warn you, Rebekah isn’t going to be pleased with me. None of them will be, I have left them all daggered for a very long time.” Klaus admitted to Alice, he hoped that having her there would somewhat calm Rebekah as they had been close when Alice had been human. But he couldn’t say that it would go his way for certain, Rebekah could hold a grudge for as long as she wanted. He also planned to tell his sister about Grace as soon as he could, which he again hoped to make Rebekah forgive him for daggering her yet again.
Grace placed her books onto the desk in front of her, she flipped through the text book until she found the page that they finished on yesterday. “Hey, just being in my presence is worth it.” She smiled over at him as the teacher walked into the classroom and begun to teach them, Grace was busy listening to what the teacher was saying and was taking as many notes as she possibly could. It wasn’t until she stole a glance of Jeremy that she noticed he hadn’t really moved, it looked like he was half listening and half pretending to follow the teacher through the text book. “I’m not going to help you if you fall behind,” Grace whispered to him once the teacher had his back to the class, of course, if Jeremy needed help then she would but he still had to put some effort into school.

Grace knew the only way to keep her mom changing her mind about staying in Mystic Falls, was to make sure Klaus didn’t cause any more trouble and that she was safe at all times. Neither of which she could completely control, but she hoped Alice could keep Klaus away from trouble and that both Alice and Klaus could help in making sure she was safe. But Grace knew it wasn’t going to be all that easy. She was brought out of her thoughts when the bell rang, quickly she shut her books and lifted them into her arms as she stood up. It was going to be a long day.

“Coming from the guy who dated a young human while he was, what? 600 already? Maybe 700?” Alice asked with an arched brow, looking towards him, and adding in a hum, “Considering how ancient you are, I don’t think you can judge my friendship with your daughter.” She smirked teasingly, tilting her head as if challenging him to comment further when it came to age. “Besides, don’t you know that you should never comment on a woman’s age?” Shifting, she nudged him gently, but nodded slightly to his later words, wondering how things would go with Rebekah. She was sure that, if it came down to it, she could try to calm Rebekah down, but she wasn’t entirely sure how well she’d be able to do it.

“We’ll figure it out when she wakes up,” she assured him, offering a small smile as she looked up to him. “But we can’t really waste any time, so let’s go.” The sooner they woke Rebekah, the sooner she could get to school and look out for Grace. She’d go herself if she could, but she was sure she wouldn’t be able to fit in easily. On top of that, she wasn’t indestructible like the Originals were. If somebody ended up wanting to get to Grace through her, they’d be able to. It would be safer for Grace if an Original was at her side.
“Well, I can definitely agree to that,” Jeremy told her, grinning broadly over at her as he watched her for a few moments. Eventually, though, he dropped his gaze to his book and tried to focus on keeping up with the lecture, but it was a little hard to do when he was fairly distracted by Grace. Plus, he was fairly happy that she would still be there; he could keep hanging out with her and spending time with her. “Oh, I don’t believe that for a moment. I’m completely certain that you’ll help me the first chance you get if I really needed it.” He grinned over at her, watching her for a moment, before he dropped his gaze back to his book, trying to concentrate, but he was too happy with the news she’d told him to really be bothered.

When class ended, he stood up, packing away his things, though he looked over at her, arching a brow. “So, since you get to stay, does that mean we’re still on for hanging out at your place?” he asked with curiosity, arching a brow while he zipped up his backpack and slung it over his shoulder, his gaze focusing fully on her. He observed her for a few long moments, smiling to himself. He felt incredibly lucky, which was surprising, since he was so used to everything in his life going to hell. At least he had this one chance to enjoy himself again.

“I’m ancient now? Well it had been hard to ignore your beauty, when you just happened to show up at every place that I went to.” Klaus grinned as he stepped closer to Alice, his fingers moving to brush some hair away from her face. “Besides you were clearly very interested in being with an ancient hybrid,” He teased as he closed the gap between them, his lips pressing to her forehead. “You suddenly care about age now?” He chuckled softly but he knew she was right, they needed to wake Rebekah as soon as possible and explain to her about her niece. Klaus was positive that once Rebekah knew about Grace, she would all but volunteer to watch over her young niece. Family was extremely important to his sister, and this meant there was another girl in the Mikaelson family.

Stepping away Klaus took the keys from Alice’s fingers before he moved over to the passenger door and held it open for her, “After you love.” He grinned as it would be faster if he drove them to where he was keeping his sibling’s coffins, once Alice climbed in he shut the door and moved over to the driver’s side. Climbing in he started the engine and drove down the driveway, before he headed towards the shipping container yard. It wasn’t the most glamorous place for him to keep his siblings, but it made the most sense to keep their location a secret.
“I will not,” Grace smiled as she knew if Jeremy needed help with his homework, she would willingly help him. But he didn’t need to know that. She lifted her backpack off the floor and piled her books inside, before zipping her bag shut. “Yes, you can still come over to my place… well I guess it’s places now. But I doubt you’d want to come over to… Klaus’ house.” She dropped her voice when she mentioned his name, “I did actually stay there last night. I’m surprised my mom allowed it, but I was so tired that I just fell asleep.” She admitted to Jeremy as she didn’t want to start keeping secrets from him, and she knew how he felt about Klaus but he was someone who would still listen if she wanted to talk about her father.

“You can come over any time you like,” Grace told him before she felt her cheeks become warm with a flush, “What are you smiling at?” She asked him and hoped that she didn’t have anything on her face, or that her hair was sticking out in weird directions. She could feel her heart beat quicken in her chest, she hadn’t felt this before. She had dated a couple of guys before, but she had never felt like this before. She did remember Alice explaining how she felt around this one man… who Grace now knew was Klaus. But Alice’s heart beat used to increase whenever she saw him or was around him… was it the same way that Grace was feeling? She wasn’t sure.

(Sorry Alice’s part is a little short.)

Alice arched a brow, grinning slightly as she watched him. “Just happened to show up?” she questioned, “I’m pretty sure you were stalking me.” She was joking, of course, glad to be able to joke with him after so long. She missed this, more than she could possibly explain. Watching him, she leaned into his touch while she could, her eyes closing over. “You’re the one who brought age into this,” she joked lightly, grinning to herself. For a few moments, she let herself relax, let herself enjoy this moment, before she tried to focus on what they had to do. Nodding, she opened her eyes, watching him, before she moved to climb into the car. Leaning back in her seat, she watched the scenery pass while Klaus drove.
Jeremy grinned at the mention of it, watching her, though he offered a small shrug. “Well, I mean… Just because I go to Klaus’s house doesn’t mean I have to see Klaus,” he pointed out, because he really didn’t mind going if it meant that he got to see and spend time with Grace. Of course, he wasn’t entirely sure how Klaus would react to Jeremy spending time with Grace but… Well, Klaus would just have to get over it because Jeremy liked Grace and that wasn’t about to change just because Klaus liked to be a nuisance. “You actually stayed there?” he asked with surprise as he focused on getting his own things packed up. Looking over, he watched her for a few long moments. “Was it, ah… Was it okay? Did it go okay?”

He smiled slightly when she assured him that he could come over any time. He’d definitely take her up on that offer, he decided, figuring that it would be nice to hang out with her some more. He liked hanging out with her. He liked her. Blinking to her question, though, he watched her before he offered a small grin and shrugged. “I just, uh… I’m really looking forward to hanging out with you.” Grinning slightly, he shrugged and shifted his bag before looking to her and leading the way out of the classroom.

Klaus couldn’t stop grinning as he reached his hand to take Alice’s hand, he brought the back of her hand to his lips where he pressed a kiss to her soft skin. “I was slightly stalking you, but can you really blame me? You were and still are the most beautiful lady I’ve ever seen,” He glanced over at her as he drove through Mystic Falls, the drive wasn’t overly long as the town was still considered small in Klaus’ eyes and hadn’t expanded much over the years. Turning down several more roads, Klaus pulled his car over when he reached the shipping container where his family was sleeping in their coffins. Turning the car engine off, he took a deep breathe in as he climbed out of the car.

“This way,” He looked at Alice as he would need her, for her support and to hopefully distract Rebekah from wanting to kill him. Taking Alice’s hand in his, he guided her over to the container before he pulled the door open and letting her step in before himself. Walking over to his sister’s coffin, he lifted the lid and glanced down at a sleeping Rebekah. His hand grabbed the stake as he removed it from her chest, he stepped back away from the coffin and watched for his sister to wake up.
Grace smiled when Jeremy agreed to come over to Klaus’ house, which surprised her but it was in a good way. She honestly thought he would have refused to go anywhere near Klaus, after what he has done since arriving in Mystic Falls. “That’s true, you would be coming over to see me and not him.” She smiled at him, how had she gotten this lucky? To meet Jeremy in the first place and to have him be so understanding, she had no idea but she wasn’t complaining. “It was actually good, he showed me around his house which is very fancy. But it was nice, he wasn’t pressuring me to talk to him or anything and… it was comfortable.” She admitted to him as she followed him out into the busy hallway that was now filled with other students, she stayed close to Jeremy as they shared the next class as well.

“Good, because I want to hang out with you too.” Grace tried to force her heart to calm down, it wasn’t working as Jeremy just seemed to have that effect over her. She liked him so much. She dodged around other students as they reached their next classroom, Grace found a desk next to Jeremy before she pulled out her books.

(I don’t mind if you want to skip Jeremy and Grace to the end of the day or something.)

Alice waited patiently with Klaus, leaning against the wall while they waited Rebekah to wake up. She slid down to sit, waiting as the time passed, minutes turned into hours, and she looked to see the time. “Grace will probably be getting out of school right about… Now,” she mentioned, looking towards Klaus for a moment as she wondered whether he wanted to keep waiting for Rebekah to wake up or leave a note or something for her to come find them so that Klaus could go try to spend time with Grace. She wasn’t really sure which he would prefer, but she figured she’d just leave it up to him.

Her gaze focused on Klaus fully, though, and she took him in. She was sure he was worried about how Rebekah would react to the fact that she’d been daggered for… Well, Alice wasn’t sure how long Rebekah had been daggered. But, Alice hoped for the best, for Klaus’s sake but mostly for Grace’s sake. Grace needed somebody around to make sure she would be safe at school, after all. Otherwise, they wouldn’t get to stay and Grace wouldn’t get to know her father. Before she could say anything else, though, she heard movement from the casket.
As classes ended for the day, Jeremy went to his locker to put his things away, but his eyes scanned around for Grace so they could leave and go hang out. Admittedly, he was looking forward to it and he couldn’t really remember the last time he’d looked forward to something this much. He shot Elena a text, letting her know that he wouldn’t be heading straight home, that he’d be hanging out with a friend. He didn’t elaborate, because he didn’t want her to find out about Grace; he didn’t want her or Stefan or Damon looking into Grace and finding out who she was related to. He didn’t want them to find out Klaus was her father. They’d go after her if they ever found out.

Lifting his gaze from his phone, he looked around again, a small grin forming on his features when he finally spotted Grace. Making his way over, he adjusted his bag and slipped his phone into his pocket. “Hey,” he greeted, watching her and taking her in, glad that they’d have this chance to just hang out without… Everything getting in the way. “Are you ready to go?” He arched a brow, tilting his head a bit. “We’re heading to Klaus’s, right? Or are we heading to your actual home?” He wasn’t sure, since she might want to see her mom after not seeing her the day before. He didn’t care either way as long as he got to spend time with her.

Klaus felt bad for bringing Alice along with him as she spent nearly all day waiting with him for his sister to wake, a day that Alice could have spent doing whatever she wanted to. He had also been keeping an eye on the time, so when Alice mentioned that Grace would be finishing school soon, he was already torn. He wanted to spend all the time he could with his daughter, but he knew it wouldn’t be fair on Rebekah if he removed the dagger and wasn’t there when she did wake. “I know…” His tone was heavy, if Grace went to his house and he wasn’t there then it would offer her no protection at all.

He was about to tell Alice to go back to his house and be there when Grace arrived, but then he heard the movement. His back was to the coffin, he turned around only to be face to face with his angry sister. “Rebekah listen…” He groaned in pain when she pushed her dagger into his stomach, her words spilled from her lips as she then processed to open the lids of their siblings’ coffins. “How long this time, Nic?” Rebekah asked glaring over at him, her anger only increased when she heard the mumble from Klaus. She had been daggered for an entire decade! She moved from each coffin and removed all the daggers from her brother’s, this was the final betrayal. She was going to leave Klaus once and for all. “Rebekah please… listen to me, I have a daughter…” Klaus looked at his sister as he pulled the dagger from his stomach.
Grace moved her phone away from her ear as she ended the call with her Mom, she was surprised by what her Mom had suggested to her but she wasn’t going to question it in case that made her Mom change her mind. She packed her backpack before closing the zip and shutting her locker, she smiled when Jeremy moved beside her. “Hey, yeah I’m ready.” She placed the straps of her backpack over her shoulders as she looked at him, “No. I just spoke to my Mom and she’s going to be stuck at work for a while, so she would rather me go to Klaus’ place. She said I’d be safer there,” She told him hoping that he would still be fine to be around the guy that killed his Aunt and has caused nothing but problems since he got to town, but she wasn’t sure who would be at the house.

Grace hoped none of Klaus’ new hybrids would be hanging around as they all made her feel uncomfortable, and she didn’t trust any of them. Turning she headed towards the school exit with Jeremy beside her, she also hoped that they would have time to hang out, just the two of them. She still wasn’t sure what type of father Klaus was going to be, she assumed he would be protective over her but would he still know when to give her space? She hoped he would, or at least Alice would let him know when she needed space.

(Also, I can totally handle Elijah when he wakes up if you’re alright with keeping up Rebekah’s bits?)

Alice watched the pair for a long moment, tilting her head. “You know… You kind of deserved that,” she chimed out to Klaus before her gaze went to Rebekah and she watched her friend for a while before she grinned slightly. “Nice to see you again, Rebekah.” She nodded once, pushing off the wall to make her way over, her gaze dropping to the others in their caskets - Elijah, Kol and Finn. She hadn’t really ever met Finn and she’d known Kol for just a short amount of time, but she couldn’t say that she really blamed Rebekah for undaggering them. Looking to Klaus, she watched him for a moment, certain he’d healed up from the wound by now, before she looked back to Rebekah. “He’s telling the truth. He has a daughter - her mother’s a witch and a good friend of mine.”

She shifted, looking between the pair for a moment. “And we need your help.” Her gaze focused back on Rebekah. “Her mom is worried about the dangers that come with being involved with the Mikaelsons, and with their daughter being a Mikaelson, you can only imagine how dangerous it would be for her if word got out that Klaus was her father. So, we were hoping that you’d be willing to go to school with her to protect her.” Smiling slightly, she shrugged. “And I can guarantee you’ll love her. Her name is Grace and she’s the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. She shares her father’s love of painting, but she certainly does not share his ability to hold grudges. And, she’s talented and caring. Like I said, you’ll love her.”
Jeremy was mildly surprised with the information but he eventually nodded anyways. If he had to be around Klaus in order to spend time with Grace, he’d do it. He could tolerate Klaus’s presence if it meant hanging out with her - he’d have to do it either way, anyways, since he was her father and he’d probably try to linger, regardless of where they ended up hanging out at. “I’m perfectly okay with that,” he assured her, because he was sure she was bringing it up to check for his opinion. While his opinion didn’t really matter, he knew that she didn’t seem to want to put him or anybody in an uncomfortable spot, so he knew she was probably worried about how he would react to the news. “Since you’re ready to go, we can head there now? Though you’ll have to tell me how to get there… Unless somebody’s supposed to be picking you up?” He couldn’t really be sure, after all.

Either way, he led the way out of school and led the way to his vehicle. If Grace had somebody coming to get her, he’d stick around with her until whoever it was got there and then he’d just follow them to Klaus’s, he supposed. But, if she didn’t have a ride, he definitely didn’t mind driving the both of them there, since he’d end up there either way to spend time with her. “How do you think he’s going to handle you hanging out with a guy?” he asked jokingly, looking over to her as he got to his car and opened the back door to put his backpack in. “Do you think he’ll react like most, uh, fathers would?” Or maybe, knowing Klaus, he’d try to rip Jeremy’s head off. Jeremy made a face at the thought but he didn’t voice it, not wanting to worry Grace.

    (That’s fine with me!)

Klaus grunted at not only Alice’s comment but the pain that erupted through his body when he pulled the dagger from his stomach, he knew he deserved the pain and more. Rebekah’s attention was suddenly taken from her brother to Alice, “Alice? No…” She looked at the brunette who she had been close to when Alice had still been human, she had no idea that she had been turned into a vampire as well and she was saddened that Alice had been. She knew that Alice would get caught up in all of the Mikaelson’s drama and she hated that her good friend had been turned into a vampire, when Alice didn’t deserve any of this. Rebekah quickly moved over to Alice and wrapped her arms tightly around her, she would deal with Klaus later because she never thought she would ever see Alice again.

Listening to what Alice said, it took Rebekah a little while for her to process what she was hearing. Klaus had a daughter… she had a niece. Her eyes lingered on Alice to make sure she wasn’t lying, but she couldn’t find any lies behind Alice’s eyes. “Her name is Grace?” A smile formed on Rebekah’s face as she has always wanted to have a family of her own, it was a stupid dream to have as she knew it would never actually happen. But maybe Grace could fill that longing that Rebekah has always felt. “Please say yes, Rebekah. We need you to protect her, so her mother will allow us to be in Grace’s life. If not… Tegan will take Grace and Alice and she will run from me again.” Klaus begged his sister as he looked at her, she had to say yes otherwise he couldn’t prove to Tegan that their daughter would be safe with him around. “Of course, I will.” Rebekah frowned slightly at her brother because he knew she wouldn’t abandon her family.
Grace couldn’t wipe the smile off her face when Jeremy told her that he would be fine going to Klaus’ house, she had been worried that he wouldn’t want to be there and she wouldn’t have blamed him at all. If he hadn’t wanted to go to Klaus’ house, then she would have gone somewhere else with him because she wanted to spend more time with him. Her safety didn’t cross her mind, she still wasn’t used to having to think about her safety as she never had to think about that before. “My mom was meant to pick me up today, but are you sure you’ll be comfortable there?” She asked as she followed him outside and over to his car, she just wanted to make sure that he was doing this willingly and not just because she asked him.

Grace opened the passenger side door and placed her backpack on the floor before she climbed inside, she placed the seat belt across her body and looked over at Jeremy. She thought about his question for a few seconds, “I’m not sure. I think he’d be the normal protective father, but I’m pretty sure Alice would help us out if he gets overbearing.” Grace didn’t want to scare Jeremy away from hanging out with her, although he has stuck around this long but she didn’t want to ruin their friendship so soon. If Klaus did try to keep Jeremy away from her, then he would have to deal with an angry Grace and that wasn’t pretty. Once Jeremy started his car and pulled away from the high school, she gave him the directions that would take them to Klaus' house.
