It had surprised Alice to hear that Klaus had gotten the dress for her when she was meant to be dead, but it made her heart swell, because it meant he’d held out hope that somehow, some way, they’d meet again. It had been one of her impossible hopes before, but she’d given up that hope after Tegan had gotten with Klaus, so sure that he had moved on from her. She, of course, kept this to herself. There wasn’t a point in dwelling on any of that now, she’d decided - and at least Grace was getting the chance to get to know her father and his family now, which was a wonderful thing and Alice genuinely hoped that she liked them all. She knew what family meant to the Mikaelsons and she knew how hard they would fight to keep Grace safe and alive - and, while Alice would fight just as hard, Alice was also capable of dying a lot easier than the Mikaelsons were. At least, this way, Grace would have people who were nearly invincible protecting her and Grace deserved that protection more than anything, because she was such an amazing girl.
Alice’s thoughts had come to an abrupt stop when she’d come out of the bathroom and she grinned broadly with seeing Klaus’s reaction, happy to know that she still had such an effect on him. “You still clean up as wonderfully as ever,” she teased lightly, slipping her hand around his arm as she peered up at him, taking him in. She couldn’t imagine anything better than being right here with him, in moments like this. Still, she followed him quietly, leaning her head against his arm, just wanting to be as close to him as she could. When her eyes caught sight of the lights up ahead, she couldn’t help but to grow curious about where they were going or what they were doing and, when they got closer to the lights, she breathed out in shock, staring around as she took it all in. “Oh, my God,” she murmured, almost breathless as she peered at the sight, taking it in, though she paused when she registered that Klaus had spoken and she peered up at him, enjoying the way the flickering lights cast shadows on his face. “It’s amazing, Klaus,” she told him honestly, looking again to the setting with shock, “How did you manage all of this?”
Jeremy listened to Grace’s words, nodding slightly with the mention of her mother being a doctor. He wasn’t sure what to expect with that, but hoped that, overall, her mother would like him. The last thing he wanted was for Tegan to not like him, too; he knew Klaus wasn’t his biggest fan, just like he wasn’t Klaus’s biggest fan, but he could deal with Klaus not liking him all that much. If both of Grace’s parents didn’t like him, though, he was sure that would just make it far too difficult for them to actually be together, if they got that chance - because, really, more than anything, Jeremy wanted to be with Grace. He wanted to show her what the world had to offer and let her have some freedom, since it seemed like she didn’t get that often with having to move around so much. But, since it didn’t seem like she’d have to be moving around constantly anymore, he truly and genuinely just wanted to show her how wonderful the world could be when you were actually allowed to enjoy it. “Let’s hope she doesn’t carry a scalpel on her to kill me,” he joked lightly, offering a small grin to Grace.
Before he could even think to say anything else, though, he could feel Grace’s lips on his and, for a moment, he was shocked and stunned into freezing, but he recovered quickly, grinning as he returned her kiss, letting himself enjoy this moment between them for as long as he could, allowing himself to forget the fact that anybody could catch them in this moment. But, really, what could they do except kill him? And, if they did that, he doubted Grace would be happy and he was sure his own sister and everybody else would lash out at them and that would put Grace in danger - as much as Jeremy would hate that - so he was sure that the Mikaelsons would at least let them have this for a while. “I think you’re wrong,” he told her gently when she pulled away, his eyes scanning over her features, and he lifted his hand to cup her face gently, running his thumb over her cheek gently, “I think that title goes to you, Grace. With everything you’ve been through and with all the news that just got dropped on you, you’re handling it so well and you’re giving all these new people in your life a chance… There is nobody who could be more amazing than you.” And, to prove his point, he smiled and leaned to kiss her again, just wanting to relish in the moment
