Carter let out a soft chuckle as pulled back from their hug. "Alright. Abby's making dinner so maybe we should go help." He offered her, though he didn't have to coax her more. She was already up and leaving the room. He was about to say something to Harper but she nudged him playfully before taking off to the bathroom. Shaking his head Carter turned to Abby, thankful she was cooking, he was starving. He couldn't help but smile as he walked over to her watching as she was cooking. Letting out a chuckle he lifted his hand cupping her face, "you've got a bit right here." He told her, before leaning in and pressing a kiss to her lips. Gently caressing her face, brushing off some of the flour from her cheek in the process. Pulling back he chuckled a bit, "question." He said before looking over what she was making. "How did you get flour on you?" He asked her turning back to face her.

Abby smiled and bit her lip turning to him as he looked down at her. She blushed as he brushed the flour from her cheek. She smiled and kissed him back feeling a calm sweep over her. She looked up at him as he asked his question turning red and getting flustered but laughing. "You see it's not my fault. The flour bag wasn't opening the right way so I pulled a little harder and it burst open! It was being difficult." she said laughing at her own words and wrapped har arms around his neck leaning onto her toes and kissing him again giggling as she did so. She pulled back and swatted him with a towel. "Now out before I burn the potatoes because of your distracting lips." she giggled and hummed as she turned back to focus on the food.

Carter let out a laugh as she told him about the bag, shaking his head he rested his hands on her hips smiling at her. A soft smirk formed on his lips when she kissed him, blinking down at her he was about to ask what's got her so giggly but she was already telling him to leave a swatting him with a towel. "Okay, okay." He said jokingly turning from her expecting to be hit again. But was surprised when he noticed Harper in the door way smiling at their antics. Giving her a smile he turned back to Abby, "I'm going," he told her before giving her ass a swat. Then darting out of the room, he couldn't help but laugh as he went.

Harper exited the bathroom, heading to the kitchen to lend a helping hand. Though she stopped in the door way when she noticed her bother and Abby kissing. She was shocked at the sight having no idea they were actually together. But her shock turned to pain when she remembered Logan, how he'd been her first kiss. How kind and patient he'd been with her, though she'd always pushed him away. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she looked up as her brother coward from being hit with a towel. Smiling as she watched their playful banter.

Abby giggled and then gasped as he smacked her bottom. "Hey!" she blushed looking over at Harper. "Hi..." she bit her lip. "You want to help with the cookies?" she asked Harper and looked over at Carter smiling softly before turning to the potatoes and stirring them. Abby took a bite and added more seasoning. She hoped she hadn't hurt Harper with her playfulness with her brother. She had just been enjoying the tenderness of the moment but with how Harper had been feeling lately she wanted to kind of keep their relationship on the down low for her. She didn't want to make her more sad because she cared for Carter and in turn for Harper.

Harper couldn't help the smile on her face. She knew the two of them liked each other, and she was glad she'd always worry about him ever finding someone. "Sure." She agreed, before into the kitchen. Heading to the fridge she went to pull out ingredients but stopped noticing the abeady made dough. Pulling the bowl out she headed to the counter. "I forgot how peaceful it is here." She knew it would be expected of her to ask questions about her and her brother, but she felt like to much was happening all at once. She just wanted for things to slow down and let her rest and catch up. She started cutting out the cookies before placing them on a cookie sheet. Though she swatted her brother's hand away a few times. "You were told to leave the kitchen." She said smacking his hand again. He just laugh stole some dough, before making a dash out of the kitchen. Shaking her head she couldn't ever remember a time where he was like this. He'd always be to busy or very serious about things. It was nice to see him happy.

Harper grinned as she finished up the potatoes. She pulled out the meatloaf and started to set up the table. "It is a great place. I was just telling Carter about how I wanted to get some chair for the porch. Eventually I would like to make some curtains to. Not that I know how to sow." she laughed and changed the temperature to the oven for the cookies. She turned and set the food on the table chuckling as she watched Harper chastise Carter out of the kitchen. She laughed and shook her head. "Put in the cookies then let's eat. "Carter go wash up." she said and smirked as he gave her a playful look.

Harper smiled over at Abby before nodding. "Well I know a thing or two about making chairs." She shrugged it off, though until they could get the supplies they needed she knew she could wrestle up something that would work until then. She finished dishing out the cookies then slid the pan into the oven. She turned to look at her brother and Abby. Smiling as they congregated around the table. She slipped into the seat across from them, before turning to look at the two before her. She could tell they were doing their best to keep things pg for her. It wasn't that it bothered her it however did make her miss Logan. Tucking her head she sorted out plates and silverware.

Carter smiled at the two girl before giving Abby a wink, then slid into his chair next to her. He smirked over at his sister noticing how she was shying away from the topic of the two of them. He could tell she was desperately wanting to ask about them since she'd caught them kissing earlier. "Thanks it looks great babe." He smirked over at Abby.

Abby blushed and looked at Carter her eyes telling him that he needed to cool it around his sister but that she liked him calling her babe. She shook her head smiling. They al sat down and she dished out food grinning as she tried to change the subject again. "Do you think I might be able to find a job too? I don't want to sit around all day when everyone else is out working." she said and bit her lip. Abby was really hoping to just fit in here and learn to be like Harper and Carter.

Carter smiled at her, before tucking into his food. A soft groan fell from his lips as the flavor filled his mouth. His eyes closing softly. It had been such a long time since he'd had an actual home cooked meal. She was far better than he'd feared. "This is so good." He told her, before looking up at his sister, giving her a pleading look. He wanted her to eat more than anything. He knew this was going to be hard on her, since they now back in hiding. He nearly dropped his fork when Abby asked about a job. His head snapped to her before he shook his head. "No." He said firmly. Though before he could managed to get more out Harper had responded.

"I don't think it's a good idea either." She said being polite about it. "After all your family will be looking for you just as much as the others." She told her, "and we can find something for us to do around here." She smiled at her before taking a bite of her food. "We could find somethings to make and sell if we have too." She knew that people would spend tons of money for wooden decorations. "Plus it will give us a chance to work on pulling you out of your shell." Harper wasn't to bad a fighting, but she was better at controlling her abilities so it would be best if she was the one to train Abby to fight.

Abby inhaled sharply at Carter's response surprised and hurt her chest tightening. She bit her lip and looked down blinking as Harper spoke. She nodded softly and stood going to check on the cookies. She knew they weren't ready yet but she needed a moment. She had thought of Alex but not of her family. It made her throat tighten and she winked back tears. She went to the sink and looked out the window trying not to sniffle as she rubbed her eyes angrily. "Sorry." she said after a while. She didn't think her family would come looking for her. She was out of their hair, whatever happened she wasn't their worry anymore. they had wanted her out of the way anyways that was why they had been sending her to the country. Abby shook her head. "I'm not really hungry." she said and left the kitchen going to her room and opening up the back door. She sat there and looked to at the sky as the clouds passed by and birds flew over the waning sun. Abby didn't know why it hit her all at once but suddenly she was a blubbering mess. Abby pulled her knees up to her chest and buried her face in it sobbing.

Carter frowned when Abby stood from the table his eyes watching her movements. "Abby." He said after she apologized he knew she was hungry but this had upset her. Sending a quick glare to his sister he went to stand to follow her. But his sister grabbed his arm, "sit down and eat." She told him. "You aren't doing her any good." She told him, before turning back to her food. "She left the room because she needed a minute, what she's going through is hard." Harper watched as he took his seat. "It's going to be okay." She told him, before taking another bite of her food. "Remember all the times you let me cry on your shoulder, it kept you from doing so much. You'd go with out food for days to afraid of leaving me, I won't let you do that again." She warned him, "if she can't handle being here then she should go back to her family." She sighed, "but I have a feeling she'll be okay." She told him, giving him a rather hateful glare. Knowing that if he didn't start eating she was going to hold him down and force him to eat. Content when he picked up his fork she turned back to the food before her. Eating what was left on her plate before getting up and taking the cookies out. She turned to her brother watching as he toyed with his food. "You better eat, or I'll make you." She told him. Then headed for Abby's room. Knocking gently before walking into the room. "Hey." She said softly before sitting down next to her. "You know hiding away your pain doesn't help right." She told her. "If all we ever see is you happy then we'd never know the true you." She looked at the woman. "It's okay to be hurt and upset, you don't have to run away to cry." She looked out at the setting sun. "We've all been through so much and not a single word we say can make any of it better, nor can we change the way we feel." She sighed, "not eating on the other hand just makes bad matter worse." She turned her attention to the girl. "I'll tell you the same thing I tell my brother, if you don't eat I'll make you." She smiled at her before standing up. "Because not eating when we have food is foolish, because you don't know when your next meal is going to be." She knew that she'd never been hungry before and it wasn't something she was looking forward to. "And if this is to much for you then you can go back home, there are people that still care about you and will do whatever they can to protect you. But are you willing to see them die?" She knew that she was being hateful, but this was her life and she'd been shielded from it for a long time. "But if you don't want that to happen then dry your eyes go in there and eat, and tomorrow we can work on making you stronger. And no one will ever have to die for you." She turned and headed back to the kitchen. "Really?" He brother questioned her as soon as the door closed behind her. "She needs to hear these things, she's not a child and sheltering her isn't doing her any good. And if you care for her the way you say you do then quit standing in her way, stop babying her."

Abby looked up as Harper came in and listened to her words. It made her stomach twist. She glared over at Harper. "I don't need you to tell me how to behave." She waited till she left and shook her head going to the bathroom and splashed water on her face looking in the mirror. She sighed searching her eyes. There was no choice but she was allowed to have a moment to process everything. If she didn't feel like eating for a damn hour then she didn't have to. She would go back to it later. Abby would never go back to her family and purposefully put them in danger. She could never do that to anyone. Abby might be new at this and maybe a little dramatic but she needed to let it process. She usually handled things well. One thing she didn't handle well was not being able to do anything. She had been in that situation all her life and she was sick of it. That was why she left in part wasn't it? Abby rubbed her eyes and dried her face. She walked out and went to the table grabbing her plate and taking it outside sitting on the front porch to eat. She didn't want to explain herself or talk to anyone and it was bullshit about having to show herself to them. She would share when she was damn good and ready. Abby just needed some space. She had been spending all her time with them it wasn't fair to ask her to share what she didn't yet understand herself. Once she finished eating she went in and started to clean up the kitchen. She was angry now. Who was Harper to tell her not to hide her feelings when she and her damn brother spend an entire weekend avoiding each other because they couldn't talk about their damn feelings and rather pretend everything was okay. She grabbed the scrub brush and started in on the potatoes pan scrubbing harder than she needed to out of her anger. The more she thought about it the more angry she became. She would need to go for a run before she started breaking things on accident but she was sure there was something about her staying out of sight and close to the house to. There wasn't a damn thing she could do and it pissed her off. Once the kitchen was clean she looked up and at Harper. "Can we speak?" she asked and leaned back against the counter. She wanted her to share, fine she was ready.

Harper smirked at Carter as he shook his head then left her alone to go off and busy himself with something. They weren't used to having so much free time it was mind numbing. Though it was easily fixed with project and things to make or work on. She'd used to color a lot when she was younger Carter would always get on to her for stealing crayons and coloring books. So for a while she'd just rip pages out of books and work on coloring that. It got to the point of her tracing the picture just so she could color it again and again. Shaking her thoughts she knew it was hard to have to go from being able to do stuff to having to hide. She'd been there before. But Abby wasn't a kid she was an adult and acting like a child wasn't going to do any of them any good. She knew it wasn't her place to correct anyone's behavior. But she wasn't going to let this girl get her brother killed by being selfish. She'd help her in any way she could, but she wasn't pulling all the weight or letting Carter. Going into the living room she sat down on the couch. Letting her eyes close she relaxed knowing that if she kept thinking about this she'd end up going right back into that girls room and telling her off. She'd been being nice, but it was her love for her brother that kept her grounded if she did go in there and hurt her feelings she'd piss him off and she didn't want that. Blinking at the sound of Abby's voice she lifted her eyes to meet the girl. "Talk." She told her knowing that she'd have to do her best to remain claim. Because she could tell the spoiled girl had a lot to say.

Avery bit her lip silent for a moment before she spoke calmly. "I want you to know that I have a lot to learn, about you, your brother and this situation, I know that. But I don't want you to think that the first episode that it all finally hits me is how I react every time I am upset. I needed time, because it seemed so stupid to me to get as upset about not getting a job as I got. As I took the time to think about it I realized it was more than just that and feeling useless. I was grieving for my old life and I couldn't do that around you both because I couldn't explain my emotions even to myself. So yes I needed a time out but I had every intension of returning and if you had given me the opportunity I would have on my own and in the future if I need to remove myself to think about my emotion I would appreciate it if you would allow me to do that. I don't know what you and Carter have been through, I can't begin to. But what I do know is that you are the last person that should judge me on not sharing my true self. You who could not tell your brother that you are so upset because you left the man you love behind because it might hurt him. You who tell Carter not to baby me when you are babying him. Harper I am sorry if I upset today but I need to deal with my own things and do not think me so cruel and spoiled that I do not know how I affect Carter. Let me be there for him, and him for me. Just because you and he had a particular relationship growing up does not mean I will repeat it. So please don't... don't treat me like I am the stupid little rich girl. I have been through more than you know." she said. "And I probably know more than you think I do." she said waited for her to come back with something else that she had done wrong. Avery wanted to be a part of them and it seemed Harper saw her as more of a problem than possible help. That annoyed her and honestly somewhere hurt her. It reminded her of all these years she had been considered not capable with her family.

Harper rolled her eyes as Abby rambled on, she didn't even know why she bothered with people any more. Saying something in hopes to help them blows up in her face. She just sat there staring at the girl trying her best to keep from yawning or snapping at her. And honestly half way through her spiel she wanted to get up and walk away. It was to out of line for her, she didn't attack her so there wasn't a need for such backlash. She was to temperamental. "Are you done?" His voice came from the door, causing Harper to glance at her brother. She was rather shocked he stood there listening to the whole thing. Anger displayed clearly on his face, as he stared at Abby. He wasn't necessarily mad at Abby, just pissed with the entire situation. He could tell that his sister's words had effected Abby in a way that it wasn't meant. And that Abby going through this was a lot to handle, but speaking to his sister that way wasn't going to work for him. If they were going to move forward with any relationship she'd need to cool her jets and stop getting so damn offensive. He knew that Harper was to blame to, but hearing that Harper was in Love with that thing pushed him further than he'd liked to admit. And it wasn't Harper babying him it was so he didn't go and kill that piece of shit.

Sighing he turned to look at his sister, his body wanted to move over and hug her. But he knew he was rooted to this spot. "If the two of you can't get along then I'll separate you, and neither of you will like it." He huffed out, before turning his attention back to Abby. "Now I don't know what all was said in the room, but I can tell from the way my sister is acting that it wasn't anything hurtful. And you blowing up at her like this isn't okay." He shook his head before sighing. "You need to take a step back from your high horse, stop treating her like those people that boxed you in all your life. You say not to treat you like a spoiled brat, stop acting like one. You might not think you're doing it. But this right now, brat." He told her before his eyes shot over to his sister as she stood. "I'm not done with you either, sit." He told her. Watching as she rolled her eyes. "I'm going to the bathroom, care to hold my hand?" She asked, before moving out of the room anyways. "Stupid child." He muttered. "This is new for you, all of it. So you have to treat it as such." He told her in a softer tone. "Harper wasn't meaning to hurt your feeling, she was treating you like she does me. That was her way of excepting you, but your to inside of your head to get that, that is her." He sighed actually glad his sister had left now. Moving over to Abby he cupped her face, this wasn't what he wanted for any of them. But it was happening. "I'm sorry." He told her, knowing that he could have been a bit to hurtful. But this wasn't the way to handle anything, talking was one thing but letting out all your pint up anger on someone that doesn't deserve it, not okay.

The more Abby talked she felt her temper rising but her tone was calm. She looked at Harper confused. She was trying to be sincere and to really make an effort not to be emotional and snap at her. She wanted to but her relationship with her and Carter meant more to her. When Carter came in and basically reprimand her she frowned her eyes tearing. They weren't hearing her it was driving her insane. When he touched her she stepped back and shook her head. "I wasn't yelling, I wasn't even attacking her. I was trying to express myself calmly so we could get a long!" she said now getting upset her voice raising slightly but still she was calm. Abby shook her head. "I told her I have a lot to learn and I meant it. I am not trying to be childish. I am trying to tell you both what I need and to apologize for my outburst earlier. I sometimes need to just take time to think about why I am feeling the way I do. I don't understand why everything thinks I am being snobbish for knowing my limits emotionally." She looked desperately at him not angry just hurt and wanting to fix this. She shook her head. "I think I need to not try and fix this with Harper right now. I am sorry I am not coming across clearly. I just want to work this out and get a long but I also want to be healthy and deal with my emotions the right way because I know sometimes they are childish and too much." Abby stopped and took some deep breaths breathing slowly trying to control herself. She was hurt and didn't understand why everyone thought she was being snobby and bratty when she was just trying to get a grip on her emotions and be an adult and fix things. Yes I told her the truth that she tried to tell me about myself but I didn't mean it to hurt you or her. I said it so she would understand that we are one the same playing field." she said and stepped back again. "I rather not continue this conversation here. I would like to speak with you later in private. I will try to make up with Harper again later, maybe I will figure out a better way to do it." she said feeling crazy and went over to the cookies and took them off the baking sheet now that they where cool. She put them in a container and cleaned up the rest of the dishes from the cookies.

Carter felt his anger shift to hurt when she pulled away from him. He cursed himself silently as he put his foot in his mouth. Here he was talking about her taking out her shit on his sister and here he was doing it to her. Growling softly he turned and walked back outside where he'd been listening to the girl in the first place. He could hear the water in the kitchen running and wondered if this was such a smart idea. The two of them together was turning out to be a bigger mess then he'd expected. He'd thought they'd been getting along as of late. But he knew it only got worse when people were stuck in close spaces. Looking up at the sky he watched as the sun started setting, he knew that Abby would still want to take the cookies to the man down at the farm. And honestly it was a perfect distractions allowing all of them the chance to calm down and think things through. Maybe all of them could just forget it and move on. But he knew that wasn't going to happen as Abby was very set person.

Harper slipped from the bathroom, raising a brow she noticed her brother was gone and Abby was in the kitchen. Shrugging her shoulders she moved back to the couch, settling down on it. Kicking back she closed her eyes and relaxed. She didn't know if her brother would really keep true to his words or if he was off trying to calm down. She'd have to come up with some excuse to tell him why Abby assumed she loved Logan. Because honestly she didn't know if she loved him or not. But it hurt thinking about not seeing him agian.

Abby ignored Harper as she took the cookies outside to Carter. She bit her lip as she came up to him and gently touched his shoulder. "Hey you want to take these before it becomes much later?" she asked him softly. She smiled softly as he looked at her. She wanted to talk to him now but it wasn't a good time. She could see he was still upset and she would need to sooth some of his feathers first. Abby didn't understand why this had happened, or even how really but she wasn't going to let it keep building. They would talk it out and then be stronger than ever. Abby believed that time and communication solved most things. She smiled handing him the cookies and started to walk with him down the road. "It is really beautiful here." she said softly. Abby looked up at the sky. It was something she could never get over. The sky was beautiful and sometimes she wished instead of being superhuman she was able to fly. It seemed like so much more fun than just being the perfect being. She snickered at her own thoughts. "You know I sometimes wish I could fly just to be closer to the clouds she admitted to him. There is something calming about them. I always feel like I think better outside."

Carter was shocked when he felt her touch him, turning to look at her. Smiling softly he took the cookies from her nodding. "Sure." He said softly, before walking with her towards the man's farm. It had been so long since he'd thought about this place he wasn't even sure what the man's name was any more. But he was thankful that Abby was giving him an excuse to go see him. Though he could feel the tension in the air. They still needed to talk, but she'd chose not to talk earlier so he didn't want to push it now and if she wasn't ready to talk he would wait. When she mentioned being able to fly he nodded. "Weird reason to want to fly. But I get it." He teased her. "I always thought flying was some bad ass ability. It seemed like people who can fly can get away from everything." He knew he was talking about running away from his problems. But now it was stupid want, but they were sharing. He nodded understanding that outside was always calming to him. He could enjoy life when he was out side.

Abby laughed softly. 'You never wondered what it would be like to run your hand through a cloud?" she asked and smiled as he shared to. "It would be pretty badass." she said grinning as she used his word and chuckled. "Do you think they are jealous of us and that is why they hunt us and put us down?" she asked him bitting her lip. Abby really hoped that he understood what she meant. To her it seemed like the humans where scared and jealous in a lot of ways of those with abilities. Abby could see the farm house in the distance starting to get closer. She wondered what this man knew.
There was no way Logan could avoid it any longer. It was time for him to call her. It would be dangerous fro them both to not let her know. He sighed and sat in his library and made the call to the burner he had given to Harper. He sat back in his big chair in the empty house. He felt so lonely now that she was gone. It was only a couple weeks and he was already missing her terribly but there was a reason he had to call otherwise he wouldn't have risked her safety. Logan listened to it ring hoping he would answer. When her voice came on the phone he beamed. "Harper... hi sweetie." he said softly joy filling him up making him feel warm and happy like he hadn't been when she left.
