Pulling away from him she looked at him, wondering why he was doing this. She knew he wanted a wife in her, but she didn't get it. "Why me?" She asked him softly, not wanting to start a fight again. "I mean you can have any girl you want, but you chose me." She explained, wanting to know what the hell he was thinking. He'd be thrown out of places because of marriage with Mega's was frowned upon. She didn't want him to ruin his life for her, no matter what he was feeling for her.

Carter smiled feeling her moving around, his hand bracing her gently as she sat up. "It's still early." He informed her, knowing she really wanted to go out with her friends tonight so he'd have woken her if he'd needed. "Earplugs?" He chuckled questionably, knowing he hadn't even looked in there. "I passed out, guess I was just that tired I didn't even look to see what was in the box." He told her. Stretching he groaned softly, loving being able to move again.

Logan sighed. "Because Harper I don't want anyone else. You could call me obsessed sure and I am sure some of the events do but that's not really it. It's complicated how I feel about you and it's lead me to do stupid things but I know that you're the one for me." he said and cupped her cheek. "I hope you can learn to believe me. I don't care what everyone else will say. I have a powerful enough family that I can send people under if they try and push the issue. You deserve this life just as much as them. I might not be perfect when it comes to the Meta and Pura relationships but I do know the way Meta's are treated now is wrong and I'm not innocent in that either. I'm still learning but I know that I can and it all starts with you Harper."

Abigail sat there looking at him and ran a hand through her hair and nodded. "Their's not just earplugs but yeah. I mean their special earplugs is al. You'll just have to try them." she said and then shook her head. "Carter did they really mistreat you before you came to me?" she asked him frowning having a feeling she already knew the answers but she didn't know what she would do if that was the case. Abigail ran a hand through her hair again and then shook it out and laid her hands in her lap. She stood and walked into the kitchen and grabbed some water handing him one as well and drinking hers to get the cotton feeling out of her mouth.

Harper leaned into his touch, she didn't believe he meant harm. Frowning she knew that what he'd done was purely to get her to himself. "Why didn't you just ask me on a date, instead of forcing this on me?" She questioned, wanting to know how he couldn't think that separating her from her brother wouldn't hurt her. "You could have at least blackmailed me to get this." She informed him knowing that things could have went different if he'd have just used the info against her instead of separate her from her family.

Carter frowned hearing her question, "well yeah I guess they didn't treat me too good." He informed her, "but nothing I couldn't handle," he shrugged knowing that hew as worrying her. Smiling at the water that landed in his lap, "thank you." He said before taking a drink of his water. "I'd do what I can to protect Harper, anything at all." He informed her, before taking a sip of his water. "Even if that means dying to protect you."

Logan frowned. "I'm sorry Harper. I was wrong to do what I did but now there is nothing I can do to reverse it. I told you I had a debt to the Asher family. You're brother more than paid that off and I didn't want to force you anymore than bringing you to my home. I wanted you to give me a chance and we both know if your brother could he would be saving you from me because he believes I am all beast." he said. The more that he thought of his story with Harper the more it sounded like beauty and the beast to him.

Abigail frowned. The entire thing made her sick to her stomach and she wanted to release him but she was so selfish and incapable of doing such a noble thing. She knew is she really had the inkling to do it she could get her bother to free him as long as he found another willing to take his place. She frowned and looked down. "I'm sorry Carter. I'm sorry I can't do anything to make it better to take what happened and reverse it. I only hope that you won't loose you're life with me and that you will find some joy in your life. IfI can make it happen I will see if you will be able to visit your sister before we move again." she said softly.

"I wont forgive you." She informed him, she knew as time went on it would be less of a plague on her mind. "Though I will do my best to not pout about it." She informed him, knowing he'd been worrying about her. His staff had been up her ass also. "Though getting out does sound nice." She informed him, she didn't want to deal with a tutor right now. And if Logan was going to be her husband then he needed to show her the attention she needed to except this. She wasn't going to marry a man unless she could love him.

Carter lifted his gaze to face Abigail, "that would mean the world to me actually." He informed her, smiling brightly at her. The thought of seeing his sister rocked him to his core, but in a good way. She'd never been with out him. "It's always been me and Harper, I'm not used to not seeing her." He sighed softly. "She's my world." He spoke about her almost as if she was his child, in away she was. She'd been to young to remember their parents and the horrible things that had happened to them. But he made sure that it would never happen again.

Logan flinched as she said she wouldn't forgive him but he looked up with a sad smile as she said she would try not to pout. "Thank you." he said and sighed. "And I will do my best to make sure you get everything you deserve in life." he said and then smiled as she said getting out might be nice. "Very well then. If you want to go get ready I'll take you out where ever you want to go. I'll even leave you somewhere as long as you like." he said knowing she might not want to be around him and he wanted to give her the option.

Abigail smiled and nodded. "Thank I will have Alex set it up." she said and smiled standing and stretching. She yawned and walked over to her phone making the call real quick so he could make it happen sooner rather than later. She then looked at Carter. "I'm going to get ready for the party. Alex will be running out to grab a change of cloths for you. If you would like to freshen up before we go you can and please tell Alex your cloths size." she said and touched his shoulder before disappearing into he back room closing the door. She hummed as she moved about in the room.

Harper smiled softly, she felt things between them shifted over the course of the night. She felt more open to just allow him his way, than fighting at every turn. Slipping out of bed she nibbled on her lip, not knowing why she'd wanted or allowed him to stay. Standing she looked over at him. "I'll come find you when I'm ready." She informed him. Knowing there would only be a handful of places he'd be. Taking this as her opportunity to leave, she did so. The hallway seemed familiar now, last night she didn't know if it was a mixture of the wine and the news she'd gotten but the cloudiness was gone and know she could easily find her room.

Carter was confused as to why he'd need to tell Alex anything when the man knew everything about him as it was. Doing as instructed he turned and went into the kitchen. Opening the fridge he furrowed his brow. He wondered how often she stayed here. The place seemed stocked with things that wouldn't expire. Frowning he'd have to suggest they stop and eat somewhere before going to the party. Moving back into the living room he smiled as Alex waltz into the room carrying bag of clothing. "Thank you." He said taking the items from the man. He could feel the dislike flowing off of him. He wasn't sure if it was the fact he was a Meta or the idea of Abigail going to the party tonight.

Logan smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah sure." he said and bit his lip hoping she could find her way. He decided he would get ready then check the house to be sure she hadn't gotten lost again. Logan stood from his bed feeling stiff and pretty gross. He sighed and went to his bathroom showering and then dressing in some street cloths that where still pretty nice compared to the things others might wear. Logan finished getting ready then walked out of his room and wondered about the halls checking the normal places she might end up first then looked down her hallway and smiled. She must have made it back alright then. He went and sat in the dinning room from last night sipping on some coffee. He figured he could take her out to breakfast then show her their market place and let her do her thing as he went and talked to a few tutors and ran the letter he composed for Abigail to the post office.

Abigail walked out of the bedroom smelling like a spring rain on the flowers. She smiled at Carter. "Hey the showers yours if you want it." she said and smiled gently at him her heels clicking against the hardwood as she moved over to the kitchen opening another water and sipping at it. She looked up as Alex walked in. "I don't like you going alone Ms. Asher." he hissed and Abigail put a hand gently on his shoulder. "I won't be going alone, I'll be with Carter and he has proven himself already wouldn't;t you agree?" she asked him and he sighed. "Still Miss." he said and Abigail placed a sweet kiss on his cheek. "Hey now don't you worry we'll be safe." she said. "When is the last time I was able to go out Alex please please let me have this." she said and he sighed shelving his worry and giving her a soft look like a father unable to say no to his daughter. Abigail beamed and then finished her water and sat on the couch taking a book from the cabinet and starting to read.

Harper found her room fairly easily, she moved to her closet opening the doors before walking into the room. Shaking her head she'd always wondered why she'd need the dresses that hung up nestled into the back of the room. Now she understood, that he'd intended for them marry and she'd join him to any and all social events. It was hard for her to see herself at the level. But really no one outside of this house knew she was a Meta. Her brother and her had lived normal lives for years. So unless it was slipped into the public she was one, then it didn't seem that farfetched. Deciding she'd need a shower, she exited the room heading for her bathroom. She enjoy the convenience of having everything with in her room. She knew that Yoongi was waiting so making fast work of a shower, she wrapped a towel around her waist before moving back to her closet to chose and outfit for the days events. Nibbled on her lip she wondered exactly what they'd be doing. They'd never discussed that. So pulling on her undergarments she moved to pick out a pair of black washed jeans. She'd always favored black so really anything in her closet would go nicely with the pants. Searching the room she finally located a shirt she'd feel comfortable going out in, pulling the stripped tee over her head. Sliding her feet into a pair of pumps, she grabbed her black denim suede jacket and felt clutch. Satisfied with her outfit she exited her room heading down stairs in search of Yoongi.

Carter entered the now steamy room the heat making him want to shed his clothing. Lucky that was just what he'd planned on doing. Closing the door, he quickly undressing for his shower, he stepped into the moist shower. Being able to wash away this morning had him relaxing. He knew that his problems were just starting, but at least he was happy to be able to help Abigail. She needed someone now more than ever. And he felt like he was the person she'd been searching for. He not only couldn't protect her but he was able to make her prison life that much more bearable. Beside he had a feeling that she'd needed a friend more than a staff member. Someone that could laugh and maybe even cry with. Pulling on his suit he exited the bathroom. "Okay how do I tie this?" He questioned no one, hoping that one of them knew how to tie a tie. Something he'd never had to do. Lifting his head from the material in his hands he smiled sheepily towards them.

Logan looked dup as Harper came into the room. He smiled. "Ready for lunch?" he asked her as he stood and offered her his hand. They handed out to the waiting car and he opened the door for her then closed it behind her going around and getting in the back with her. "Hank take us to Gregoro. Please." he said and smiled looking at Harper hoping this restaurant would be alright. It was less classy than the ones he normally went to so he hoped it would be nice for Harper but not an extreme change. "So I was thinking after lunch I would have Hank drop me off then take you tot he market if you like. I have it so anything you want is put on my tab." he said softly. "All you have to do is give them my name." he said and smiled at her. "Would you like that?" he asked her.

Abigail smiled as Carter came out and he was holding the tie unsure. She grinned and walked over to him. She flipped his collar up and then adjusted the tie and spoke softly of how to do what she was doing as she tied it around his neck. "Not to tight?" she asked and when he was happy with it she turned his collar down and smiled at him her hands running down his chest. She suddenly blushed and took her hands off him. "Alright let's get dinner." she said and smiled at him. They all got in the car once more and they went to a restaurant. Alex and the driver ordered from the valet and would have their food in the car. It was normal for them despite Abigail's offers for them to join her.

Harper smiled softly when he greeted her, "lunch sounds good." She offered him something instead of just agreeing voicelessly. Taking his offered hand she nibbled on her lip, why did it feel wrong to hold his hand. She knew nothing was going on between them, even though he expected it to. She didn't know how long it would take for her to love him. But she didn't think to much on that as she settled herself into the car. "Uh what's the market?" She questioned him, having no clue where the hell he was taking her. She knew he only wanted to keep her happy and make an easier life for her. But she felt that he was trying to hard, she'd actually enjoyed the banter they'd had when he'd plead for her attention while she worked. Though those days were over and she really didn't know how to get back in touch with that person either. She'd been so happy and almost carefree. But not it was like all the happiness had been sucked from her and she was left as a shell.

Carter escorted Abigail into the restaurant he could feel eyes on him, he wasn't sure if it was envy he was feeling or contempt. Since he was a Meta he always felt that people could just tell by his looks. But he looked a the woman who was holding his arm and he knew it was the first. People were envious because he had such a beauty walking next to him. They didn't know her or him for that matter, it was just the fact she was so beautiful and they couldn't help but stare. "Your table," the maître d' said. He stepped aside allow Carter to pull out Abigail's seat. "My lady." He beamed at her, knowing that play a part of her boyfriend was just a roll in protecting her, but that was a front for her friends. He however couldn't help himself right now and enjoy this. It was almost like they were on a date.

Logan smiled as she agreed. "Good." he said as the driver drove them. "Oh the marketplace is a collection of shops that sells a bunch of products kind of like the strip of shops where you worked." he said and rubbed the back of his neck. "It has fun little trinkets and some more important things that might be needed. I figured you might like to buy some things for your room." he said though secretly he really wished she would stay with him again. He knew she wouldn't't go for that thought they had a long ways to go.

Abigail smiled as Carter held out her chair for him and she chuckled as he called her his lady. "Thank you my good sir." she said and smiled at him. This was really nice to have someone to share this with. She looked over at Carter as he sat across from her then down at her menu. "I really like their Raviolis here." she said and smiled up at him from her menu. It was really weird to be out like this. She wasn't quite sure what to talk about. It wasn't like they could talk about the things that where to dangerous for people to over hear but none the less she wanted to talk to him about something. "What will you say to your sister when you see her again?" she asked figuring it was a safe thing to discuss seeing how easily they could manipulate the conversation so it sounded innocent.

Harper looked up at him, "oh." She didn't know what had him thinking the way he did. But she knew he only meant to further his own happiness. "I thought we were going shopping?" She questioned him, she didn't like the idea of dropping his name and having people stare and judge her. If he really wanted her to feel comfortable he'd have given her his card. But he wasn't a stupid man, that would only cause trouble. She could use that card to run. But it was those thoughts in the back of his mind that made him not trust her. But he'd trust her if she had no money. There was ways for women to disappear in the city, she just never stooped that low to do that. She'd never needed to either. But now the thoughts plagued her mind, but what would happen to Carter once she fled. She couldn't betray him like that. So even escaping wasn't worth the risk. She however did promise him she'd try to be better company for him. She just didn't like the thought of buying things with his money.

Carter looked over the menu, before frowning at her words. "Well I'd like to tell her to be happy." He informed her, "but I don't know how happy she can be when being forced to live with him." He gritted his teeth. He didn't want to get into to much detail, because still he was a slave and so was his sister. So having an open conversation about it didn't sit well with him. But he wouldn't deny her an answer especially if she was going to make it happen to where he could see his sister. "I know she likes him and all but its hard giving the only family I have up to an unworthy piece of garbage." He elaborated, "so I don't want her to deny herself the happiness she can have on my account." He knew that if Logan was treating her right then she could be very happy with the life he had to offer her.

Logan frowned and sat there silently for a while trying to see what she was. "I don't understand... Can you explain to me what id upsetting you?" he asked. He came from a different culture that money was not an issue and therefore had little value other than for entertainment. Logan crinkled his eyebrow trying to understand and really wanting to. He just thought it would be a way for her to get out on her own while he went and set up other things for her that would allow her to get out more.

Abigail nodded. "I see. Don't you think she would tell you the same? She would probably also tell you to stay safe." she said and smiled gently. She knew families that cared for one another wanted happiness and safety for their loved ones. Her family was souly focused on keeping her safe they often forgot about her happiness but then her happiness had always been different than theirs. She didn't enjoy all the things they did and more often than not enjoyed things they would find a terrible waist of time and energy like climbing a tree.

Harper lifted her gaze to meet his, she furrowed her brow not knowing why he needed to be told what he was doing was completely demeaning. "It's the fact that you think I want your money." She shook her head. "I get you have a lot of it, and I am yours to do as you see fit, but I'm not a whore, and you can't buy my love." She snapped at him. "I refuse to have anything to do with this shopping trip." She informed him, it was one thing when she was with him to help her buy things, but she didn't like that idea either. It was just a lesser of two evils. And if truth be told she was actually looking forward to being able to spend time with him outside the mansion.

Carter smiled at her, "as a matter of fact she'd already did so." He smiled at her. "But I don't think I will be able to have the same luxury of happiness as she will." He offered her a forced smile. He knew that his chances of ever meeting a girl and settling down was non existence. The only woman he'd ever see for the rest of his life was sitting in front of him. And she was far out of his reach, there was no way she'd ever love a man like him. Beside if she did her family would never allow it, and he'd end up dead. It was something he would rather not even start to consider, but his mind went there anyways.

Logan frowned and nodded. "Okay then I won't demand anything of you instead I will ask. "What would you like to do?" he asked her. He knew whatever he said in defense she had probably already heard or expected but she needed to be able to direct where they where going and he could do that. Logan looked over at her and waited for her to think about what she would like to do now that she had the option to.

Abigail frowned at his words and reached out and touched his hand. "I want you to have every opportunity of happiness and I am sorry I can not give you the most grand and sociable life but it will always be an adventure and I promise to listen to you and help you when I can." she said and then leaned in. "I guess I should start by telling you know then. "Once we are done here in town we are getting out of the city. It will be isolated but the place is stunning and I hope that it will make your job easier." she said not saying to much because they where in public but she wanted him to know he was going to be farther from his sister which was part of the reason why she was making the meeting happen. Abigail looked up as the waitress came over. "What can I get you?" she asked and Abigail rattled off a few things then looked at Carter for his order. Once the waitress had it she left checking Carter out and Abigail chuckled. "Our waitress is checking you out when she thinks I'm not looking." she said.

Harper frowned before looking at him, "can we just make it through lunch first?" She asked feeling the car starting to slow. She wondered where he was taking her, she didn't really want to be out with him right now. But she knew that he could still salve the day just by being with her. He after all was going to be her husband, he could start learning now what she liked. Or he could use all the same things he'd done before this so that he could swoon her. She liked him before all of this, so why was it so hard to like him again. Had he put on an act before, she didn't think he had. But he wasn't bring her flowers or buying her expensive gifts any more. She missed how he tried to please her. Now he just left her alone and kept her locked up. She would be happy to just walk around the park maybe even swing a little.

Carter listened to her words, he didn't get a chance to respond to them before the waitress came over and took their orders. He handed her his menu with out a look at her. Furrowing his brows he looked at Abigail. "Well she can stare all she wants." He smirked at her. "Because I only have eyes for one girl." He smiled before sending her a playful wink. He knew that it was only talk, his job after all was to keep his eyes on her. He also knew that the waitress was desperately trying to hear their conversation in hope she could find out if he was single or not. He could hear the gasp that left her mouth and then her stomping her feet off somewhere else. "Though love you don't have to worry about her, she's just jealous of your beauty." He was now playing it up to the couples around him. They were very interested in their conversation.

Logan smiled softly. "Well I was thinking last night how you said I don't know anything about your culture so this morning I had the cooks create a lunch of all the things that are from your culture..." he opened the car door to a park. "I remember we always talked about going on a walk through a park and we never got to because you where always working or what not so I thought we could have a picnic." he said and smiled softly. "Is that alright?" he asked her softly. "We could do something else if you wanted too." he said softly. All Logan wanted was to get her to not be so angry with him. For now that would be enough.

Abigail blushed as he said he only had eyes for her. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. She was wondering if he really meant everything he was saying. Probably not though, he felt like a slave and why shouldn't he when he couldn't leave her side. He would never want to be with someone he believed her to be. She chuckled as Carter said she was jealous of her beauty. "I don't think that's quite it but we'll call it that out of curtesy." she said and leaned in towards him. "You really seem to be enjoying yourself." she said and grinned sweetly at him. She was really trying to gauge him. She didn't know how to act to him.

Harper stepped from the car, blinking up at him. "A picnic." She said softly, nibbling on her lip trying to suppress her smile. "I think it'll be fine." She moved with him over to the area he'd have set up for them. Kneeling down on the blanket she tucked her feet under her before looking up at him. He she didn't know what he was playing at but she knew that he was still the man that was trying to swoon her before. "You're not trying to seduce me are you?" She questioned him, motioning to the bottle of wine next to the basket. She bit her lip as she looked up at him. Her and wine didn't mix very well, so she'd have to take it easy. She looked around noticing that they were alone. It was just the two of them, even his guard had made himself scares.

Carter let out a soft chuckle, before leaning in. He clasped his hands under his chin. "So modest." He smiled at her. Normally she would be the perfect kind of girl for him, beautiful, and always thinking of others. It was something that drew him to her. He knew earlier he could have allowed her to get hurt. But he wasn't going to allow anyone the hurt a hair on her head. Not because he was being forced to but because he truly wanted to. She'd proven she was worth saving, and he needed someone in his life like her to keep him on the right path. He knew if it was anyone else he'd let them kill her and then himself. It would make Harper's life easier, she wouldn't have to worry about him anymore. He knew she'd be better off loving someone else then keeping him in her heart. It made him envious of the life she was getting to live. He knew he'd never know what a woman's touch would feel like.

Logan smiled as she didn't complain. She didn't praise him but then she really didn't expect him to either even if he was doing something right and he could tell he was. Logan smiled as he set the blanket down and she sat down. He took off his shoes and sat beside her. He set the basket between them then started to pull things out of it. Logan smiled and chuckled as Harper asked if he was trying to seduce her. He shook his head. "No the cooks instead on the wine but we're not there yet. I would like for you to at least like me before I try seducing you." he winked at her. He watched her as she looked around. "What do you think? Do you like it?" he asked her as he poured her a small glass as he set to putting together a sandwich. The cooks had told him that he needed to put the cold stuff on the bread otherwise the bread would be bad.

Abigail blushed. "Most people would call it unexperienced." she said and blushed sitting back and taking a sip of her drink. Their food was served and she smiled and thanked the rude waitress. She took a bite of her food and groaned softly. "Mmm so good." she said. The waitress might be rude but she wasn't dumb she still wanted that tip. Abigail smiled at Carter. "So tell me Carter what do you think of getting out of the city?" she asked him softly wanting to be sure he wad going to be alright out in the middle of no where. Abigail was excited to get out into nature and a place she had picked herself rather than her mother finding some mansion for them to live in which made her feel out of place. All the money helped her stay hidden but it really made her feel like she didn't belong.
