Shortly after Brooklyn had arrived at the boarding house she'd started to do anything to distract herself. She'd started to clean a little, but after one room decided on something else, and ended up in the bathtub reading a book while she soaked in the bubbles. It was relaxing to let herself be distracted by a good book and some warm water with nice smelling bubbles. Though she'd easily take just being near Kol rather than trying not to think about what he was up to with his brother. After a while, she climbed out of the tub and wrapped a towel around her hair before heading back into the sitting room to find Stefan and Elena sitting on the couch.
"I see you're all cleaned up," Stefan said smiling at her as she went to sit across from them.
"Please don't give me some talk right now about how Kol isn't right for me because he's dangerous," she said leaning back into the couch and sighing. "Because I really don't want to hear it," she added glancing over to the door when she heard the bell ring.
"I'm not Damon, Brooklyn," Stefan said getting up from the couch to answer the door. Honestly, not that shocked when he saw Kol standing on the other side. What shocked him was though that he'd rang the bell rather than just barging in.
Brooklyn followed him rolling her eyes. "I know you're not, but you've always agreed with him when it came to Kol. Which is annoying all things considered," She told him referring of course to the whole weird fling Stefan had had with Rebekah back in the twenties. Which she wasn't exactly sure if he remembered that or not, considering the look of confusion he sent her, but she did.
"You can come in Kol," Brooklyn said smiling and stretching out her hand for him.
Damon had been so lost in his own little world that he hadn't noticed the vampire he'd been playing pool with turn around, at least not until she was stopped next to him talking. That'd been enough to pull him back into the world.
"It's okay," Damon told her a little happier that she was apologizing, maybe. Really he'd only been playing pool to distract himself from other things. And if anything he kind of felt there should be someone apologizing to her, but he also knew that wasn't likely. "I imagine it might've also had to do with the douchebags making the awful comments and I don't really think I can blame you," he told her pretty sure if she were a human he would be ripping into her neck right now to take his mind off things. Because that's what he did, when he was emotional or confused he fed on the first person he saw. She wasn't though. "I could always go and feed on them if you'd like. I mean I haven't really fed in a while because I'm trying to be better. For my siblings," he said not sure if he should really be telling her anything, but too late now.
Damon couldn't help but let out a laugh at her last comment. "You have no idea," he said wishing he didn't have so much on his mind. Hell he even wished that he could get some of it off his mind, but the only way that would happen was if he turned on his emotions. And emotionless Damon would make worse choices than he already did, plus he knew that it would only take care of the issue for a while, not forever.
