Office Romance

(Sorry I had a lot going on with my middle son)

"Congratulations." Johanna smiled at Ellie as she smiled at Abby. "A baby shower to plan sounds fun." Johanna squealed in delight.

Jethro laughed and smiled. "Thank you guys for being accepting." Jethro smiled at them.

(It’s all good. I have been busy this past weekend with a best friend’s wedding and then I’ve been trying to get ready for a Christmas Party at work.)

Ellie smiled at Johanna and Abby’s excitement. “Thank you guys.” She said as she thanked the entire time before starting to eat.

Tim smiled and started eating as well. “Sir, these steaks are so good.” He smiled before taking another bite.

Later on...

After dinner was done, Ellie had herself in the kitchen cleaning up from dinner. Ducky had asked if she needed help, and Ellie just shook her head m, telling him that she got it. As she washed the dishes, a smile danced a crossed her face as she thought about the amazing night that was playing out.

Tim sat back in the Family Room with the team. He smiled as he heard some stories from everyone. He was even a little surprised when Gobbs shared a funny stories. When Gibbs got up to check on Ellie, Tim looked to Johanna and smiled. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Gibbs so talkative.” He smiled. “Have you?” He asked her.

Johanna smiled, "I have. It's a side I get to see more than you guys." She smiled. "But he's really talkative tonight." Johanna smiled at Tim, as she held her glass in her hands. Smiling at Tim she took and listened to Abby joking about the time they set the lab almost on fire. "Oh lord. I remember that. I thought Uncle Jethro was going to kill us." She laughed at the fond memory with Abby.

"Are you ok?" Jethro asked slipping his arms around Ellie and kissing the side of her neck.

Tim looked in shock as Abby and Johanna went down memory lane, talking about one of the times that they almost set the lab on fire. "Oh wow." He laughed looking from each of the girls. "Yeah...I think it is safe to say that Gibbs would have killed you two...and it's a little surprising that he didn't." He smirked as he took a sip of his drink. "You know I am still having to get used to someone calling Gibbs Jethro...let alone Uncle Jethro." He grinned.

A bright smile danced across her face as she felt Gibbs's arms wrap around her waist, and kissing the side of her neck. "Yeah...I'm just thinking about how great this night has turned out." She spoke softly as she finished up washing the dishes. "How are you? Are you okay?" She asked softly, slowly turning around to face Jethro. "Are you okay with how everything has turned out?" She asked, out of pure curiosity.

Johanna elbowed Tim and smiled, "Quit teasing me." Johanna smiled at Tim. "He raised me after my dad got killed in Iraq. My mom didn't have anything to do with me, and he stepped up and took care of me. He's more like a dad than anything." Johanna smiled.

"I am ok with everything. Not so much Tim hitting on my niece, daughter for all purposes." Gibbs laughed. "But I am happy." He smiled at her and kissed her lips softly. "I am glad everyone has been so accepting about things. It's made everything perfect for me." He smiled.

Tim nodded, "Well if I am being honest, I think Gibbs has played the dad role to many people. I mean I have my father still, but he is never around, so Gibbs has definitely filled that role." He smiled.

"Yeah, he has seemed to play that part to everyone...except Little Miss Ellie." Tony laughed with a small smirk. Tim just rolled his eyes at Tony, and then looked to Johanna. "Sometimes you have to forgive Tony, but you know that already." He smirked.

"What do you think Jake is going to say when he sees that his wife, well I am mean soon-to-be ex-wife is with Gibbs." Tony then asked. Tim rolled his eyes, still looking at Johanna. "So when do you move into your new place?" He asked, making small talk with her.

Ellie laughed a little, rolling her eyes at Gibbs's protective Uncle/Father side. "Oh Jethro." She laughed lightly. "You know, I think Tim and Johanna would be a good for each other." She said before kissing him softly on the lips. She slowly pulled back. "You know this protective side of yours is very sexy." She whispered as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Should we get back to everyone?" She asked. "Or, should I make some coffee and tea and pull out the desserts?"

Ducky was just about to walk in when he saw Ellie and Gibbs having a quiet moment together. He waited and just smiled to himself as he watched the new couple.

Jethro smiled at Ellie, “Sexy huh?” He grinned leaning in and kissing her lips lightly. Looking over her shoulder he saw Ducky standing there smiling as he smiled back at his dear old friend. “Hey Ducky, everything ok?” He questioned.

“Everything is fine, Jethro. I was just checking on the lovebirds.” Ducky teased and smiled at the two.

Kicking Tony in his leg again Johanna smirked at him. Hearing Tim speak to her she turned her head and smiled, “Tomorrow actually. The movers already have my things set up and my apartment is ready to go.” Johanna smiled at Tim. “You might have to come over one evening and check it out.” Johanna smiled at him.

Ellie just smiled, and couldn't help but blush a little at Ducky's words. "Well the lovebirds are doing good. Just about to put some tea and coffee on." She said as she left Jethro's arms to start the coffee in the coffee pot then started the tea on the stove. Once she had things started, Ellie looked over to Gibbs and Ducky. "Ducky I've got to ask, how did you know?" She asked, knowing he had everything figured out from the two of them being together to her being pregnant.

Tim just laughed to himself as he watched Johanna kick Tony once more. He then brought his attention back to Johanna again as she answered his question about moving. "Oh that's awesome. I was going to say if you needed help with moving into your apartment, that I wouldn't mind helping you." He grinned with a sweet smile. Hearing her suggest about him coming over one evening to check out her apartment, Tim just nodded. "I think that would be a great idea." He said with a small smile. He then glanced into the kitchen, seeing Gibbs watching him with Johanna. He tried his best not to let that get to him.

“It was rather simple, Eleanor.” Ducky smiled towards her. “Most expecting mothers are glowing and radiant. I can see that side of you. I’ve known for a while now. I tend to keep it to myself.” He paused moment smiling at the two.

“You and Jethro though, I had a birdie to help me with that. You see, Miss. Gibbs talks a lot to me. We were chatting the other day and sat, and put one and two together. It gave us the conclusion.” Ducky smiled at her.

“I figured that much.” Jethro smiled at Ducky. “She always took a liking to you.” He smiled.

“That she sure did.” He smiled at Jethro before excusing himself and going out into the dining area.

Looking over her shoulder, she noticed her uncle staring a whole through Tim. She gently placed her hand on his arm and smiled, “Don’t let him get to you.” She told Tim. “He does that to anyone who takes an interest in me. It’s protective ways, and sometimes it can be annoying but. I guess that’s just his way of making sure I am protected.” Johanna smiled at Tim.

“Why not come over tomorrow evening after work? I can cook for you, we can hang out. I heard you like to write. So, do I.” Johanna smiled at Tim.

Ellie smiled a little, blushing a little as Ducky spoke. "Yeah..." She said with a small smile as she looked over to Jethro. She was truly happy with how everything played out, and truly couldn't wait to see what was in store for her. "Yes, I always took a liking to Jethro...what can I say, there was something about him that I was just attracted to." She smiled as she leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. She then brought her attention back to Ducky when Gibbs excused himself to the dining area.

Once Jethro was away, Ellie looked to Ducky once more. "He is such a protective person." She noted as she looked back to see Gibbs giving Tim that interrogating look. "Poor Tim...he is never not going to afraid of him." She laughed a little as she started to pour the coffee and tea into mugs. As she went to grab the cream and sugar, Ellie felt a small movement within. It was a faint fluttering feeling, but she knew it was the baby. Tears instantly welled up in her eyes as she put a hand on her small bump. "Oh."

Tim watched as Gibbs entered the room. His heart was starting to pound a little as he made eye contact with Jethro. For most of his career at NCIS, Tim was always afraid of Gibbs because he was his boss. However, when it came to having an interest in Johanna, Gibbs's niece, there was no way of escaping the death glare. When Johanna told him to not let Gibbs get to her, Tim just nodded. He knew he could trust her words on that, so he was going to act like it didn't bother him.

Tim's ears perked up a little bit when he heard Johanna say that she liked to write. "Oh, that's really awesome.' He said with a genuine smile. "I would love to come over tomorrow evening. Do I need to bring anything?" He asked.

Johanna giggled lightly, "Just yourself." Johanna smiled. "Do you want takeout or should I cook?" She smiled looking at Tim. "If I cook, what's your favorite meal and i'll try to make it." She told him patting her uncle's hand as he walked off before giving one more glare. She smiled at him before looking to Tim.

"Awe, their so cute. Can you two just admit to one another that you like each other." Abby cooed out smiling.

Johanna blushed looking down at her lap as she smiled at Tim. "Oh my god." Johanna whispered feeling her cheeks warm more.

Gibbs walked into the kitchen and smiled at Ellie. He leaned in kissing her lips lightly. He held her close and listened to her and Ducky talk to one another.

Tim looked to Johanna, shrugging his shoulders some. It really didn't matter to him whether they ordered take out or cooked. "Well I would feel awful for making you cook on our first hanging out together...so take out sounds great to me." He grinned, not really sure whether to call this time together that they were planning tomorrow night a date or not. When Abby called them both out for being cute and that they should just admit to one another that they liked each other, Tim couldn't help but feel his cheeks getting slightly warm. Sure, he found Johanna to be attractive and something did really draw him to her, however, he couldn't help but wonder if liking her so soon after breaking up with Delilah was the right thing to do. His eyes darted to Abby for a quick moment before softening up to look at Johanna, who was slightly taking back by Abby's comment as well. He just smirked, finding it rather cute that she was blushing. He just chuckled to himself.

Ellie smiled as she saw Jethro approaching her and Ducky once more. Leaning in, she quickly and lightly kissed him before slowly pulling away, carrying on her conversation with Ducky. She leaned into Jethro more as she held her close and smiled. She was truly happy with how things played out and was truly glad that everyone else was so accepting to all of this too.

As the night carried on, Ellie was starting to get a little tired. Not quite ready to go to bed, but definitely ready to have some quiet, alone time with Jethro. She didn't say anything though as she looked to everyone and just smiled, listening to them talk. At one point though, Ellie looked across the room to Jethro, giving him the look that could be read as: I'm enjoying this time with everyone...but I am ready to do something else.

Jethro smiled seeing the look she was giving him. Jethro smiled at her and nodded his head. "Hey guys. I hate to do this, but we need to wrap this up. You guys have to work tomorrow, and and Ellie needs some rest." He smiled seeing everyone nod and clean up their mess before leaving after saying their goodbyes.

Jethro smiled taking Ellie upstairs as they went into their bedroom. He laid down in the bed and held to her. Smiling at her, he kissed her lips lightly.

Seeing everyone leaving, Johanna saw the two disappear. She felt out of place now. She cleaned up the mess and put the glasses in the dishwasher letting them clean. Smiling at everything being cleaned. She sat down and smiling to herself. She walked out of the house locking the door behind her. She couldn't sleep, so she took and decided to go back to the office.

Once she was there she took and sat down at her desk. She began working on an old case that still to this day that haunted her. She needed answers, but she couldn't figure out what to do or how to get everything fixed. Sighing she ran her hand through her hair letting it down as she got up and went and changed into a tee and a jeans. Walking back out she sat down opening the thick, yellow folder up. And began working on it. Checking every detail that she needed to do.

THE NEXT MORNING...

Tim woke up in such a good mood. He couldn't believe all that happened last night, but what really but him in his good mood was the fact that he hit it off so well with Johanna. Sure, he was dealing with Gibbs' death glares most of the evening, however, in his eyes he felt like it was totally worth it. Getting up when his alarm clock went off, Tim started getting ready for the day. He put on a night button up shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Once that was done, he grabbed a quick bite to eat before heading out. He stopped at Starbucks to get his usual coffee order as well as getting something for Johanna. He figured he would surprise Johanna was a nice cup of coffee, he just hoped that he would beat her to the office this morning. When he exited the elevator, he saw that he was the first one in this morning. He was truly expecting Gibbs to be there before anyone else, however, he figured that might be a little different now that Gibbs has Ellie. Just as he sat down the coffee on Johanna's Desk, he heard the elevator door open up once more. He turned around and smiled. "Good Morning."

When Ellie woke the next morning, she just smiled thinking about the fact that they told the team yesterday. She felt like everything was absolutely perfect now. She quickly got up and started getting ready for the day. She slipped on a pink oversized sweater, black legs, and black boots. Once she was done with getting dressed, she went into their bedroom and started applying make up. She took her long blonde hair, putting it half up and half down. Once she checked to make she sure was all set and look great for work, she made her way into the kitchen, smiling as she saw the pot of coffee was already made. Gathering her things, Ellie smiled seeing Jethro standing at the fridge. She slowly walked behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind. "Good Morning honey." She spoke with a whisper as she leaned around and kissed him softly.

Johanna glanced up seeing Tim smiling at her. "Good morning, Tim." Johanna mumbled lightly smiling at him. She walked to her desk and stopped seeing the coffee. "Aw, Tim thank you." She told him smiling at him as she grabbed the coffee and took a sip of it smiling. After the night she'd had at the office, she needed it.

Jethro smiled at her, "Good morning, angel." He whispered as he turned and pulled her close kissing her lips lightly. He put his hand to his stomach and smiled, "How are you feeling?" He questioned.

Tim smiled and nodded to her. “You’re welcome.” He grinned as he took his spot at his desk. He looked up at her and could tell that she looked a little tired but he wouldn’t bring it up. He took a sip of his own coffee before turning on his computer. Once he logged into his computer, he logged into his email and checked it before looking to Johanna. “Did Gibbs and Ellie say when they were going to come in?”

Ellie just smiled and kissed him softly on the lips once more. Feeling him put a hand on her growing bump, she just smiled even brighter. “I am feeling wonderful.” She said as she looked up from her bump to his face. “I don’t have the hodenthis growing bump anymore.” She giggled as she pulled away to pour herself a glass of orange juice. She then packed herself a little lunch box of snacks in case she got hungry. As she thought about work today, she looked to Gibbs. “Are you going to make me stay in the office again?” She asked, not really wanting to stay at the NCIS Headquarters today.

Johanna shrugged her shoulders out of her coat and heard Tim ask her about her uncle and Ellie. "I wasn't home last night." Johanna admitted yawning. "I was here till about an hour ago." She told Tim smiling. "Not really sure when they are going to be coming in honestly." She smiled at Tim drinking some more of her coffee.

Jethro frowned a little, "I'd really like you to be there. At least I know you're safe and sound." Jethro told her smiling at her. "But I guess you can go out, but you stay close to me. Any danger you go to the car and wait." Jethro warned her leaning down kissing her lips lightly.

Tim looked at her. "You were here all night?!?" He said a little surprised, taking his eyes away from his computer to log directly at her. "I am not trying to be noisy, but what were you doing here all night?" He asked softly taking a sip of his coffee. Sure, Tim had known Johanna for a while, however, he knew there were things about her that he didn't know but he didn't want to push anything. He figured when she was ready, Johanna would tell him what she felt he needed to know.

Ellie looked to Jethro, seeing that he was really wanting and preferred for her to stay at the office. However, she was not going to give in....she wanted to stay her ground on this. Sure, she was pregnant now, which meant she had someone else's life to think about know, however, she was still an NCIS Agent. "Jethro, I'll stay close to you...I promise." She reassured him as she kissed him. She then pulled back and started to grab her things before heading out to the car.

Glancing up at him, Johanna sighed a little bit. “A cold case I had a few years ago. Suddenly emerged.” She told him frowning. “It began getting to me, so I worked all night attempting to figure it out. But I failed. Miserably.” She told him admitting every bit of it sighing. “I can’t connect two things, because they don’t add up.” She sighed.

Jethro glanced back at her getting his cup of coffee into his hands. “If you stray far from me. I mean it. It’s back to the desk you go.” He warned smiling at her. “I just want you safe, Ellie. I don’t want anything to happen to you or the baby.” He admitted.

Tim looked to Johanna and nodded, feeling sorry for her that she felt like a failure. "Well I don't think you're a failure." He told her with full honesty as he took another sip of his coffee. "And if I can help you out anyway with your cold case, I would be more than happy to do such." He said with a friendly smile. He didn't know what it was, but Tim wanted to do whatever he could to be there for Johanna.

Ellie nodded to Jethro and smiled. "I won't stray far from you." She reassured him as she slid into the car. As they drove to NCIS, Ellie held Jethro's hand, letting him use his other one to drive. Occasionally though, she let go of his hand so that he could take a sip of his coffee.

When they got to NCIS, Ellie grabbed her laptop bag out of the backseat along, leaving her Backpack in the back. She figured if she needed it, that she would be going in Jethro's Charger anyway. She then went into the building, going straight to the elevators. Looking at Gibbs, she just smiled. She felt really good about today, especially with telling the team about things. Once they were in the elevator, Ellie just smiled, pulling herself closer to Jethro. "I have to do this one more time." She spoke softly before kissing him deeply on the lips.

As they sat there at their desks, Tony heard the ding from the elevator door. He smirked when he saw Gibbs and Ellie. "Well looks like the Mr. and Mrs. finally decided to come into the office." He grinned, looking at Tim and Johanna.

"I swear Tony, one day you're going to say that and Gibbs is going to give you the biggest head slap that you're going to be put into a coma." Tim laughed.

Tony just shook his head and smiled to Ellie and Gibbs as they approached them. "Good Morning." He grinned.
