Zack looked down at his food, his clutched fist pressed tightly to his mouth, his elbow resting on the table. He couldn't eat, but at the same time, he wanted to get out of this horrible mood, since he knew they were still getting alone time tonight. He pushed his food away, before standing and grabbing the plate to dump the unwanted food in the trash. He slid the plate in the sink before looking up at Olivia. "I'm going to go take a shower." He belted up the stairs in long strides, taking them three at a time to get up them as quickly as possible. Zack wanted nothing more than the hot water pouring over his body, relieving this stress off of him. Embarking down the hallway, he peered into Shayna's room. She was talking to herself, or maybe to Socks, as she packed a bag full of clothes, giggling at how excited she was to be getting to spend the night at Brians. "Socks, now I have to pack you! She patted the ground next to her. “Sit with me.” Never being one to deny her princess, Olivia entered the bedroom and sat down beside her daughter before pulling Shayna into her lap. “What are we watching, princess?” Liv asked, even though she could obviously see that it was Spongebob. “You know, I used to watch this all the time with your Auntie Mac while you were in my tummy,” she added on, gently playing with her daughter’s hair.

After prying himself away from the toddler's bedroom door, long before Olivia wandered up, Zack wasted no extra time getting into their bedroom's bathroom. Zack wasn't in tune with many of his negative emotions, he never showed sadness, and he never cried. But he wasn't afraid to show anger. He turned on the shower, only the hot water, and stripped down, tossing all of his clothes on the floor haphazardly. He leaned against the sink, staring at his reflection in the mirror until it fogged up. 'Get over this just for today. Forget you even know about it. Don't ruin this night for the two of you.'

When he got out of the shower about an hour later, definitely one of his longest shower times- he dressed and immediately went to Shayna's room, knowing what time it was. "Is someone ready to go Brian's for a sleepover?" Zack exclaimed, coming into the room with a huge smile on his face. When Zack put his mind to something, he accomplished it. And for now, he put his mind to forgetting who Ronnie even was, and forgetting the dilemma they found themselves in.

Olivia and Shayna had just started to doze off when Zack woke them up. “Oh, it’s time for someone’s sleepover,” she spoke, rubbing her daughter’s back to ease her out of her nap. The two slowly got up, both yawning and rubbing their eyes. “Now you’re gonna be all hyper, sweetie… Lucky Uncle Bri.” Olivia joked, kissing her daughter’s forehead. “I just realized I’m still in my pajamas, can you do me a favor and take her downstairs so I’m not driving over to my brother’s house in a Batman onesie?” She stood on her tiptoes to give Zack a kiss before padding down the hall to her bedroom.

The petite brunette quickly threw on a t-shirt and a pair of leggings, twisting her hair up in a bun before following her family down the stairs.

"No problem, Liv." Zack threw her a kiss back, before attacking Shayna in a bear hug, throwing her up into the air ever so lightly, and then holding her tight to his chest. He grabbed her roller backpack that was decorated Lisa Frank style and took her down the stairs. "Is someone excited to get away from Mommy and Daddy?" Zack teased her. He said daddy without even a thought, not that it wasn't okay for her to call him that, she knew him that way, pretty much, but saying it made him remember what he was trying so hard to forget.

He sat her down next to the couch and unzipped her luggage, making sure she had everything she needed. "Pajamas, two extra sets of clothes, tooth brush, blankie... some toys.... Is that everything she needs?" Zack asked, directing it to Olivia who had heard just follow them down.

Olivia stopped on the last stair when she heard Zack talking to Shayna. Did he just say mommy and daddy? She had to bite her lip to stop the massive grin from growing on her face. If Olivia could go back in time and change anything in her life, it would definitely be who Shayna’s father was. Zack was way more of a dad to her little girl than Ronnie ever had been. She descended the last step and rounded into the living room, smiling at the sight of her loves. “Hmm… nope, I think we’re all set. Let’s get this show on the road!” Olivia grabbed her purse, opening the door for her family.

Zack smiled, pushing everything back into Shayna's bag and zipping it back up. "Do you want me to roll it out, or do you wanna do the honors?" He smiled as he grabbed the keys off the table next to him.

"I got it!" Shayna grinned as she grabbed the roller bag and begin to run after her mom, the bag toppling and trying to fall over with every aggressive step Shayna took.

He shook his head and laughed, following both girls out of the house and to the car. "Be careful, Shayna, your poor bag can't handle your Godzilla steps."

Once everyone was packed into the car, Zack began the short car ride to his best friend's house, excited for the night him and Olivia would get to have together, alone. He reached across the console to grab her hand, rubbing his thumb over her palm, giving it a light squeeze. He loved them both so much.

Olivia buckled Shayna into her car seat, making sure her daughter was snug before climbing into the passenger side of Zack’s car. “Now don’t be too much of a hellion, Shay. Aunt Chelle’s tired.” She spoke, mentioning her sister in law who had recently given birth. A soft sigh left Olivia’s lips and she settled back in her seat, giving Zack’s hand a squeeze in return. She snuck glances at him every so often, not able to help the smile on her face. After years of only seeing his smile in pictures and every so often during her trips home, she learned to treasure simple moments like this.

They reached Brian’s house about twenty minutes later, and Olivia beamed when she noticed Shayna practically jumping up and down with excitement in the backseat. “Wait until we unbuckle you, killer!” Olivia laughed, putting her sunglasses on before jumping out of the car and walking to Shayna’s side.

Zack turned the engine off and stepped out of the car, letting Olivia do the pleasure of getting 'the killer' out of her carseat. They didn't even have a chance to walk up to the door or knock, Brian and his wife were already outside, practically jumping with excitement to get the opportunity to babysit Shayna. The little family walked up to the Haners and Zack gave Brian a grab on the shoulder, "Thanks for doing this, man." He laughed.

Olivia enveloped her brother and sister in law in a hug, stepping to the side with Michelle so Brian and Zack could talk about whatever guy topic was on their mind. She climbed inside and buckled her seatbelt, turning to face her love with a giant grin on her face.

"Oh, my god, are we actually alone? For the first time in like six months? Paradise." As much as Olivia loved her daughter (and she loved her more than anything), she loved getting adult alone time with Zack as well. Olivia rested a gentle hand on Zack's knee as they drove, a content grin spreading across her face.

Zack laughed at Olivia's reaction to finally getting some alone time together. He couldn't thank Brian and Michelle for giving them the gift of a night alone without a toddler. Zack has pretty much just spent that ten minutes they were at Brian's to repeatedly thank him. It was nice to relax and not have to worry about a little tiny person, to just relax.

She rested her head against Zack's shoulder and shut her eyes, just enjoying the car ride with her man. "Maybe take a nap, catch up on our shows.... or fuck in the kitchen."
