Almost Easy

Lilith felt like her life had been on an upward trend ever since she gained control over the cartel - it took months to gain their trust. When she first was brought into the "business" she was seventeen, she was drugged and put on the streets - after that she was "promoted" to drug mule - swallowing bag after bag of cocaine just to vomit it back up once she got past security in the airport - she was finally moving up. When she turned nineteen she drove a knife through the throat of the man who had her kidnapped in the first place.

"Hey, can you look up these people for me?" she asked setting a sheet of paper in front of her best friend and hacker.

Maia pulled her headphones out of one ear and looked at the paper before taking it and looking closer. "Sure, anything I need to look out for or are these just background checks?" She said, setting the paper down and typing up the first name. "Also I'm going to go and get some coffee in a bit, want to come or want some?" She said, before a signal came up on her computer. "Oh, we have a visitor."

She pulled up the cameras and raised an eyebrow. "It's Jackson, what do you want me to do? Let him in?"

She sighed a little as she pushed a hand through her hair, "Sure send him up, and these are just background checks - I want to know everything about them, their family," she said to her, "More people wanting to get involved with us only spells trouble - I've kept my nose clean..well figuratively speaking anyway, but yeah coffee sounds good - get my favorite," she smiled as she walked out of the room and towards her office.

Lilith had known Jackson for quite sometime, Jaebum was diligently trying to work a deal with her but she didn't want to work with men - they all wanted the same thing - to use her. However, Jackson kept coming and she knew he was persistent but it wasn't until one night at a club his lips south out hers that she realized what he wanted. "I told you not to come here with business shit anymore, Jackson - I don't want to deal with Jaebum,"

"And if I'm not here on business?" He asked, leaning against the door as she walked up. "You know why I'm here, Jaebum doesn't even know where I am right now." He added, following her into the office.

Maia stood and headed out, going to the new coffee shop that had just opened up down the street. She pulled out her headphones once she walked in, looking around for the menu. She decided to try something different since she tended to always get the same things when she came. She walked up to the counter and sighed, trying to decide if she should order an iced coffee or something different. She ordered Liliths favorite and then ordered an Americano for herself, pulling out her wallet to pay.

She sighed as she looked at him, "You know that was a one time thing and we can't do it again," she said to him seriously then let a long sigh, "I don't know what you want from me Jackson but I'm certain you can find it between the thighs of another girl just as easy,"

Hoseok smiled a little"You've been coming here quite often - you must live near by," he said making causal conversation with her. As far as he knew there was some heavy cartel activity in this area - but he also knew taking this job could easily get him killed.

"I do," She said, taking out the cash to pay. She never used cards if she could help it. It made it easier to never have to clear a paper trail. "And you?" She asked curiously. "You're here a lot so I'll assume you work here," She added.

"I prefer to be between yours instead," He said simply. "And you know as well as I do it isn't that simple. If it were, you wouldn't have agreed to see me." He said to her. "You want me and I want you, let's just give in."

He smiled a little,"I just bought the place actually, have some plans for it to make it even better," he said as he blended the drink the set it on the counter, "I moved here about three months ago after I lost my job, worked behind a desk - got laid off so.. took my savings and decided to invest,"

She sighed a little as she looked at him then shook her head, "You know Jaebum would kill you if he knew you were here - or make an example; fraternizing with the enemy and all," she muttered as she sat back in her chair while looking at him. It had been over a month since she'd fooled around with Jackson. The whole situation had gotten out of hand quickly when he'd kissed her; he wasn't the first guy she'd slept with willingly but he was one of the few - breaking her 2 year dry spell.

"Well I hope business goes well for you, I'll likely be a frequent visitor, your drinks are way better than the shop down the street." She smiled a little. She knew how to keep herself at a distance, but not distant enough to raise suspicion.

He rolled his eyes. "Let's not pretend this won't end badly for both of us, doesn't mean it isn't worth it. You're lying if you say you don't want it too."

He nodded a little, "I look forward to seeing you again, we're getting some new coffee beans in sometime this week - I'll make you a cup on the house if you test it?" he offered.

She looked at him for a moment before standing up, "What do you want from me Jackson?" she asked as she looked at him, she straightened out the collar on his jacket then met his eyes.

She chewed on her lip and sighed. Normally she kept distance but she couldn't imagine what a cup of coffee would hurt. "Sure, as long as it's free," She smiled a little.

He leaned in and sighed, hesitating before preeeing his lips to hers. He knew she knew the answer already and he was determined and persistent.

She kissed him back gently her hand cupping his cheek sighing, she pulled back then pushed his jacket off his shoulders. "Come on lets go to my room," she motioned to her bedroom.

He smiled, "On the house," he said to her with a nod, "My name is Hoseok by the way," he introduced himself.

She smiled a little. "Nice to meet you, Hoseok," She said, smiling a little. "I'm Maia." She said, reaching for the coffees. "When do you want me to try the coffee?"

He pulled off the jacket and nodded, following her out of the room and towards her bedroom. He picked her up and sighed against her lips, pushing her against the bedsheets.

"How about wednesday?" he asked her curiously, "Around noon?" He offered, "we wont be that busy cause a lot of people will be at work,"

Lilith laced her fingers through his hair, she was only able to be this way with him - letting her guard down, being vulnerable.

Maia sat in the corner of the shop, typing on her computer. She had started staying out of the apartment, now that Jackson was there more, she figured it would be better to give him and Lilith some space. Instead she focused on running background checks, using her own VPN to ensure it wasn't caught. She took a sip of her coffee and sighed, flipping her screen to google in case someone came up near her. She purposely sat with her back facing the wall to make sure no one would see her screen but she could never be too careful.

Jackson walked into the room, falling onto the bed and sighing. "Jaebum's been asking about you," He said softly, talking more to the room than her. "He doesn't know where I've been going this entire time though, I've made sure of that." He added, turning to look at her.

"What does he want? I already gave him the deal of giving him the Las Vegas strip to deal on; he isn't getting anything else," she said as she lifted her eyes from her book then shut it setting it on the bedside table. "After the shit I put up with from him, I'll be damned if he takes more money from me,"

Hoseok walked over with a muffin in hand, "Here you go, you've been giving me so much business this is the least I can do," he laughed in a joking manner

"I actually expected you to kick me out, since I've been consuming all of your coffee for the past few days," She laughed a little. "But a muffin is great, thank you for it." She said, pushing her screen down out of sight and to talk to him better. "Business is doing well I can tell though."

He sighed. "He wants to make another deal with you, but this one is big. He might want to come himself to talk to you about it," He explained.

Lilith laid her head back against the bed then closed her eyes, "I don't know, you know I don't trust him," she murmured softly as she looked at him then scooted over laying on his chest, "Do you know what it is he wants or are you keeping t from me?" Lilith had no want to deal with Jaebum, there was nothing he had to offer her - he gave her forty percent of his profit off vegas; the next deal wouldn't be doing her much good.

He smiled a little,"It is, I'm happy its my pride," he said as he looked at her then sat across from her, "Are you a student?" he asked her curiously.

"Nope, school was never really my thing," She said honestly. "I'm a computer programmer actually," She explained. "I work part time, fixing computers or reformatting hard drives."

He sighed. "I know enough, but I've told you most of what he's planning. He's going to come in here and tell yo himself, he's been talking about it more and more. He just hasn't decided when to set the meeting."

She nodded a little then wet her lips, "Alright," she murmured a little then kissed him gently "I'm going to order dinner do you want anything?" she asked him lightly as she sat up and pulled her hair up into a bun.

He smiled a little and nodded,"Oh cool," he said as he looked at her, "Sounds like a lucrative business," he said as he looked at her.
