Almost Easy

He sighed. "Just know he wants them," He murmured. "He keeps asking me."

She smiled a little. "Csb you teach me how to make a few drinks one day? I think it would be fun."

Maia walked into the coffee shop and went over to the counter, going to see where Hoseok was. He told her to meet him after the shop closed, so she came in and shit the door behind her. She leaned against the counter and sighed, looking around. "Hoseok?" Their date had gone well or at least she thought it had, and she was excited to see him again.

Jackson put the phone down and walked into the room. "We need to make a trip to Colombia to count the newest shipment, are you okay for going?" He asked curiously. He had taken to working as a second under Lilith as well, since he spent more time with her recently than Jaebum.

She sighed and nodded a little ,"Yeah I'm fine," she said softly as she looked at him then smile a little, "When will we go? Some time this week?" Lilith had found that the excitement she held in this job before didn't come - only hen she was doing mundane things that didn't pertain to the job.

He lifted his head,"hey!" he said to her smiling a little, "Come with me," he said nodding to the new room that had been added - from there small whimpers and yips escaped the room.

She raised her eyebrows. "No way, they're here?" She asked him excitedly. She went into the room and grinned when she saw the puppies in the play pen. "They're adorable, look st them."

He nodded. "Monday, the plane leaves at 12." He said softly, typing into his phone. "Are you okay with that?"

He nodded a little, "Their mom is here too - she is resting in the back office; she is weaning them so she likes her space," he smiled a little as he sighed, "they're a lot of work but one of the guys is staying with them over night,"

She nodded and smiled as she looked at him, "sounds good to me," she told him then yawned a little," Im bored,"

"I was going to ask how they would be cared for. This is really cool," She said, going to sit down in the playpen with them. One jumped into her lap and she smiled, playing with them. "Aside from this you've been well?"

He went over and sat down, facing her. "How can I entertain you? Work isn't all that fun," He laughed a little.

"Hm, I don't know maybe we could watch a movie together?" she asked as she looked at him then wet her lips a little.

He nodded, "I've been good, a bit tired but thats it," he sighed as he stretched.

She patted the ground next to her and smiled. "Well come sit, the cafe is closed," She said to him, still holding the puppy in her lap.

He laughed. "How coupley would that be," He asked, but ser his phone down. "What do you want to watch?" He asked, going to sit on the couch.

He walked into the room and sat down next to her then laid his head back on the wall,"so uh I was wondering if you knew a girl named Lily? I heard she might be in the area and... well she went missing in high school; we never knew what happened to her," he was trying to be serious about it because he knew her family was looking for her; but he didn't want to tip her off her knew about who she was exactly.

She smiled and walked over to the couch sitting next to him ,"Maybe something funny? Our life is too much horror and too much action as it is,"

Maia shrugged her shoulders. "I know about her, and I knew her in school. But when she went missing, she didn't leave much of a trace. No one who knew her knew much of anything." She said, giving enough information but not enough to show how much she knew. "Why do you ask? She's been gone for years, you're the first time I've heard anyone talk about her in ages."

"This is true," He said, sitting down next to her and flipping channels. "Come on, let's watch this." He said, putting his arm around her. "Are you okay?" He asked softly. "You seem... perplexed."

He shrugged a little, "Was just wondering, her parents are still looking for her is all - wish they could have some sort of closure is all," he said as he looked at her, "God only knows what she has been through or is going through,"

"I'm fine for now, just.. get bored of this life is all - I want something with more meaning," she murmured gently, "More tangible,"

She knew any mention of Lily was enough to put her on guard, since it was her job to keep lily away from all mentions of her name. "How did you hear about her?" She asked curiously, still playing with the puppy.

He nodded a little. "Like?" He asked softly, leaning his head on hers. "What would you want to do?"

He sighed, "A couple of friends from school brought her up, and said smeone had seen her around here before,"he explained to her. "It had been ages since i'd thought of her though,"

"I don't really know but this is nice," she said lightly," Doing mundane things with you," Lilith murmured meekly as she had never been this open with anyone before.

"Oh, did you go to school here?" She asked curiously. "I don't remember the case being so big, I guess it seemed big to the people in school with us."

He raised his eyebrows. "Being normal is becoming harder and harder for us," He murmured, sighing a bit. "But I like it, with you. It's just hard, you know that."

"Of course I know this," she said softly and looked at him kissing his cheek softly, "Just feel like I deserve some peace," she admitted to him.

He nodded, "I did for a short time," he said to her,"Then my parents moved us away after that,"

He sighed. "In our line of work peace is impossible to come by, you know that," He said softly, kissing her nose. "It's okay, it'll get easier."

She nodded a little. "I see." She knew she wanted to stop this conversation as soon as possible, so she focused back on the puppies. "They're so cute how will you keep yourself from taking them home?"

She nodded a little as she looked down at her hands, but didn't she deserve some kind of reprieve from this life - one she hadn't chosen for herself. "Yeah," she murmured then laid her head on his chest.

He sighed,"I don't know actually, but I adopted their mother so she'll be going home with me once they're all taken care of,"

"I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't try to steal one of them, maybe this one in particular," She murmured. "You should take him home too, then I'll have a reason t come over." She grinned a little.

"What's on your mind, talk to me." He said to her. He had been noticing her become quieter and quieter but he expected she would just tell him what it was

"I didn't want this life, it was never something I wanted," she murmured, "I did what I had to - to survive then people just...turned to me," Lilith looked at him then shrugged, "I was almost sixteen when I was taken, and I don't even remember what being normal feels like anymore,"

He laughed then stroked the puppy's head before looking at her, "Maybe I wil," he admitted.

She held the puppy and sighed. "Though, I'll say that about all of them. Then you'll have them all and you'l have to adopt them all."
