Kai had been in the shadows across the road from the club, he had been watching as Mirah walked into the building. He would have followed her, but knew it wouldn’t end well and right now he didn’t want to get his new clothes dirty or covered in blood. Turning his head slightly, he ignored the loud music and found the familiar voices. He couldn’t really hear much from Mirah, maybe she didn’t know the people she was with.
He pulled his phone from his pocket and opened up a new text message, he had gotten Mirah’s number without her knowing. His fingers tapped on the screen of his phone. You seem a little lonely in there, I’d love to see you again. I’m outside if you want to escape from those people your stuck with. He pressed the send button and hoped that Mirah did excuse herself, he wanted to see her and talk to her again.
If she did come, then he wanted her to be alone. She seemed to always be with someone, and it would annoy him greatly if she came to talk to him and she wasn’t alone.
Pippa sat with her friends but shot a smile over at Mirah, she could tell how out of place she felt being surrounded by people she didn’t know. Elena raised her hand and signalled to the bartender that they wanted a round of drinks for everyone, Pippa faced Caroline’s questions and answered them as best she could. “I’m so glad your back, Tyler’s never gotten over you. Not even when we dated,” Caroline blurted out without even thinking, she smiled when the bartender placed drinks on the table for them all and she eagerly took one.
Pippa turned to look at Tyler, “Is that so?” She wasn’t upset that he had dated Caroline, she was surprised that he had dated Caroline as she didn’t really seem like his type. But had he really never gotten over her? She prayed that Caroline was telling the truth, because she knew she hadn’t gotten over him, no matter how many years had passed.
“You and Caroline, huh?” Pippa smiled as she lifted the glass to her lips and took the shot that had been placed in front of her, the liquid in the glass burned her throat as she swallowed but only lasted a few seconds.
