Mackenzie let out a little sigh as she looked out at the human world. Why did it have to be such a bad thing to come up here? Why weren't they allowed to move through the human world? The mortal world was such an amazing place with all these different things and possibilities in it. And, admittedly, it was much much cooler to the skin than Hell. She shook her head a bit as she continued to move down the street. It was too bad that she had to sneak her way up here every time. And she was worried about getting caught one day. Though surely that wouldn't be an issue as long as she didn't cause any magical trouble up here. It would be the only way to really track her.

She moved into the restaurant that she had been heading too, walking in and asking the waitress for a booth. There had been a human she was planning on meeting: Lance Cannon. She had met with him a few times now during her trips to the mortal world, and doing so had been great. Mackenzie really knew nothing of humans, so getting this opportunity to build a relationship with one was amazing.

Mackenzie moved into the booth, taking the menu that the hostess handed to me. She glanced over it, letting out a little hum. What should She try today? The food here was very different too. Though Mackenzie wouldn't exactly say that it was better than what they had in Hell. Many things in the mortal world was though...
Clara sat down at the floor of her bedroom, letting out a small sigh as she looked down at the wooden pentagram that she made. it was suppose to call a demon. Someone that she was suppose to be able to trade something with. Though, unfortunately, Clara had no idea if it was even really going to work. It seemed crazy, demons. And even crazier that she was apparently going to be able to call them whenever she wanted to ask for something...

With a little shake of her head, Clara poured a large circle of salt around the wooden object. Apparently, it would keep the demon inside if one were to come. While she doubted that one would show up, Clara was desperate at this point. She needed help and while this plan was completely crazy, she was willing to try it. Anything she could do was worth it. Though she was a little worried about what the demon would ask for in return. There were a lot of different possibilities, some asked for souls, some asked for babies...and other things.

Leaning back a little, Clara grabbed the lighter next to her, flicking it until it was on. At which point, she leaned forward and lit the wooden symbol so it was on fire. Then she grabbed the book besides her and started to read the latin incantation. Slowly. Trying to ensure she was pronouncing everything correctly.

Lance had just got done his morning hike when he checked the time on his wrist and realized he was going to be late for his meet up with a new friend. He had met her a little while ago and the two seemed to hit it off quite well and were continuing to meet up now an again. As he made his way to his old ford pick up he wondered if she liked him. Not many girls had asked him to meet so many times in such little actual time. He smiled softly to himself at the thought

Lance decided against going home and changing. If she really liked him, she wouldn't mind that he looked a little sweaty, it was after all a workout he had just endured and he hoped the girl would like that more about him. He wore dark brown cargo shorts, and a navy blue woolen shirt with one button st the top, and quarter sleeves on it. He drove from the base of the mountain and into town in record time. He pulled up to the parking lot and looked around inside, letting out a sigh of relief when he saw her sitting inside.

Lance heading inside and took the seat across from Mackenzie, flashing her a smile. "Hey sorry I lost track of time. I was out on a hike and it was beautiful, just got lost I guess." He said an dglancrd down at the menu. "This place has amazing lasagna." He commented and ordered a coke form the waiter.

Levi sat in his 'office' so to speak down in shell. He was one of the more powerful demons so he was allowed to freely go between worlds if it meant the bettering of his beloved home. It sucked down here a lot of the time. But with more and more people making their own deals with the devil, or demons, it meant more people came down here. It had started turning into a community. Sure it was raging hot all the time, but it wasn't torture like people believed. Lucifer just liked to have power and that's why he traded solely in souls. Levi on the other hand, would trade ina much wider variety of things.

He glanced up as he heard a bell go off, someone was actually summoning a demon. He raised his eyebrow and chuckled before standing up and teleporting himself to the place. He shook his head as his eyes adjusted to the lights and he looked around him. Levi sighed heavily st the get up around him. So many myths surrounded demons and many of them were quite foolish. Salt was one of them. "Okay well first off, salt isn't going to protect you honey. But I'm not in the mood to murder so what would you like?" He asked and crossed his arms over his chest. Levi sighed and ran a hand down his face. "I'm sorry that was rude. I'm Levi Mattinson, I am probably the highest ranked demon you'll ever see, what can I get for you today? And what can you get for me?"

Mackenzie turned her head a little when the waiter asked what she was interested in drinking. Her eyes glanced along the menu for a quick moment before she ordered something called a sprite, and then proceeded to ask for a water was well. One of the things she had learned, when ordering something new, always order water. Water got rid of any bad taste that sat on her tongue.

Looking up, her attention moved back to Lance. A little smile moving on her lips. "It is okay. Though maybe you should bring me on a hike some time. It sounds like fun." Mackenzie said warmly. So far, she had seen a lot of the town. Maybe it was time to venture outside of it a little? See what happened in the mountains and in the woods around this area. What wild animals looked like here. Also, Mackenzie was curious as to whether or not that would be far enough from the portal to do some magic without getting caught.

Lasagna? There were many things that were strictly a human thing. Things that couldn't or would never be brought down to Hell. Sometimes she had no idea what Lance was talking about. However, it wasn't really her place to ask either. She wanted to understand humans, and asking a bunch of questions about things she should know wouldn't help her with this relationship. "You smell different today." Mackenzie noted before looking back down at her menu.
Clara's eyes widen as a man suddenly appeared in her room. As he poofed in front of her, she fell back from her knees onto her ass, scooting a little. While she had been hoping that it would work, wanting it to work, Clara didn't really believe that it would. So for a few moments, she just stared at him in horror and in amazement. Once Levi had finished up his little speech, Clara shook her head, trying to get her act together. After all, there was a reason why she called him here. And it wasn't just to stare at a demon dumbfounded. Though, she couldn't help but wonder why he looked so... normal. Weren't demons suppose to be red, horrifying monsters with horns?

After clearing her throat a little, Clara looked up at Levi. Her eyes were still as wide as the moon, but she had managed to find her voice now. "I-I was just following the book...it said to put salt down." She stumbled through as she glanced over at the satanic ritual leather bound book for a moment. Her eyes casted downwards as she thought about how to continue. Clara shifted a little on the floor, nervous and embarrassed for what she was going to say next.

"I...I was hoping...Well, I wanted to make you a deal. I want you to be my friend for as long as my natural life span. I have some rules..." Clara grabbed a little note from her pocket which listed them off. She had read that when making deals, she had to make it very clear what she wanted from the demon. She handed him the small list before continuing on. "I didn't think about what to give you in return though...the book said that you would ask for something so I thought I didn't have to figure out what to offer." Clara knew that this was pathetic. But at this point, she was in her early twenties and she still had no one. No friends. No family. Clara was lonely and she was so tired of feeling this way.

Lance looked over at Mackenzie when she said he should take her on a hike. "I'd love to!" He said excitedly. "I bet you'd love it. We have some of the best mountains around here. The scenery is gorgeous. We should definitely plan something." He said excitedly, looking through the menu. Lance was clearly oblivious to the fact his new friend wasn't normal. He truly thought she was just a normal girl who was interested in him and that's why she kept asking to meet him or do different things with him.

Lance looked up at her last comment and raised an eyebrow? "I do? I'm sorry yea I didn't go home to shower because I was already late. I must smell like forest and body odor." He chuckled nervously and ran his hand through his hair. "I should have brought cologne at least huh?" He said sheepishly. After looking through the menu lance decided he was going to get the lasagna. As their waiter approached he gave the man a firm smile and ordered lasagna with and order of mozzarella sticks for an appetizer, before his gaze shifted over to Mackenzie as he waited for her to order

Levi kept his eyes on the girl who seemed very startled that she had just summoned a demon. But he knew it was no accident, he didn't think there was a way for someone to accidentally summon a demon, especially summoning him. He wore dark blue jeans and a white button up with the sleeves rolled. His expression softened almost instantly with how nervous she was. And even moreso when she said she wanted him to be her friend. He sighed and bit his lip. His good nature would certainly come back to bite him in the ass. He was usually a hard ass but sad people made him soft like butter. He stepped over to Clara and helped her up before sitting besides her on the bed.

"You summoned one of the msot powerful demons in the underworld because you wanted a friend?" He asked, his icy blue eyes shimmering in the light around them. "Fine fine. Of course I'll be your friend. I'd be an asshole to not." He said and leaned back. Levi didn't much like making the decisions on trades usually people were willing to give up their souls and he didn't argue. "How about this, we try this for a few weeks and if it works and it's what you want. Then we can decide on a trade, if not, I won't tell anyone." He said and gave her a smile.

Looking up at the waiter, Mackenzie blinked a few times before glancing back at the menu. After a few moments, she quickly ordered something called ziti. While Lance had mentioned how good this lasagna was, she wanted to see as many things as once. The waiter then took their menus and headed off.

Mackenize turned her head a little as she noticed nervousness move through Lance. Was that not something that she was suppose to say? While humans were extremely entertaining, she also found them rather odd. Their emotions changes so quickly, and for reasons that Mackenzie believed really shouldn't upset them. So, she continued to become careful with what she did decide to say. While causing chaos was quite fun, that wasn't exactly her reason for coming to Earth.

"I am sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. It's not that I think you smell bad at all, just that you smell different than usual." Mackenzie explained to him. She hoped that was enough to get Lance to calm down a bit. After al, Mackenzie didn't actually think that he smelled bad. It was just new to her that he would smell so...potent. Demons didn't exactly sweat, and even when they did smell differently or bad, they weren't ones to get upset about such things. "And you should set it up. Though what will I need to go hiking in the mountains?" When Mackenzie asked questions, she tried hard to ensure that they didn't sound odd to him.
Clara looked up at Levi with a little confusion for a moment. Was this a trick? It didn't seem like one, but Clara did find it a little odd that the demon was okay with giving her a test run. And the book did mention that demons were tricky characters... however, Clara didn't understand how this would give Levi some sort of advantage. Also, Levi actually seemed really sweet so far. Helping her up onto the bed, the way that he looked at her, and the way that he softly spoke. Maybe somehow this was a trick, but so far it was one that she liked.

A little smile moved over her lips, her nervousness started to steep away. Happiness moved through her eyes, obviously pleased that Levi had accepted so quickly. Even more so that he seemed to be genuinely sweet. She had been a little nervous that when calling a demon that she would end up with an asshole... Though an asshole was still better than no one at all.

Turning on the bed, Clara faced Levi completely. "Thank you. I would like that very much. Thank you, Levi." Clara said gratefully. Though, Clara was relatively sure that she wouldn't need a few weeks, and that the time wouldn't make up her time. After being alone for years, after trying to make friends, Clara was sure that this was what she wanted. Just anyone.

Lance thanked the waiter before turning his attention back to Mackenzie. He had noticed she was a very inquisitive person. He liked that about her, she was genuinely interested in him and the things he did and liked. Lance felt somewhat bad that all they talked about was him, at that moment he decided to ask more about her because she knew so much about him, and he knew so little about her. She knew his love for nature and hiking, that he considered himself a tree hugger, loved animals, and was very laid back. But all he knew was she was quirky and loved to learn. He thought it was all awesome though.

"Oh no you didn't upset me. I was just explaining because I didn't want you to think I was being gross or anything. I didn't noticed I had a usual smell." He said with a grin on his lips. "You ask me all sorts of stuff, but I don't know much about you Mackenzie, tell me more about yourself? Where are you from? What do you like to do? What's your passion?" He listed off some basics hoping to get a good conversation going between the two. When she said she would go hiking he was ecstatic. That would be a perfect date to see how compatible they were. "If you aren't busy after this I could take you out shopping for everything you need! Cabellas isn't far from here. And if you like it we can go all the time."

Lance thought of this as a date, he thought Mackenzie might be as well. He hoped she did, she had seemed interested in him, just by how she acted. When the waiter brought their meals to them he smiled and nodded a thank you to the young man before picking up his butter knife and fork as he began to cut into the lasagna and taking small bites as he ate. His eyes shifted to Mackenzie, he loved this place and had picked it out, so he hoped she liked the food.

Levi could tell this girl was very nervous, and seemed to be very lonely. He gave her a soft smile to try and help her become comfortable. In his mind he was damning himself for getting into this situation. He had a job to attend to and he couldn't be with this girl for all his time. He needed a way for her to tell him when she wanted him, as he thought of different solutions to that problem his eyes flashed over and he saw a smile on her face. His eyes always dated around to whatever was going on, so when she moved it was her, and if anything else in the room moved, it was that.

"I'm glad you like the proposal. But if we are to be friends I think I should know your name. You already know mine." He said and leaned back against the wall the bed was against, hands behind his head and he crossed his legs. Levi was a bit in the know about humans. He'd been up here granting wishes for year, br he certainly had no idea how to form a relationship with one, that was crazy, he wasn't sure if any demon had really made friends with a human. Lucifer wasn't fond of the demons staying in the mortal world for long periods of time. And Levi knew how humans and how demons showed affection and caring, and just in general showed emotions, were very different. They were like comparing African culture to Irish culture.

Levi took in his surroundings, before his eyes shifted to Clara and he looked her up and down. He likes the red hair and his lips turned up in a smirk. His favorite hair color was red, but he was probably biased because he was in fact a demon and anything that reminded him of hell was good to him. "I can't imagine how a cutie like you would have a hard time making friends. I mean." He shrugged and teased.

Mackenzie was a little thrown off as Lance started to fire several questions at her at once. She hadn't been quite expecting it, though she had known that it was only a matter of time before he started becoming curious about her as well. Though she did prefer it when she was the one asking everything. Mackenzie came to learn about Earth and interact with interesting humans, not to make up detailed lies about herself.

"That is a lot at once." Mackenzie noted. "Though I think I can satisfy your curiosity." Before she had started to really talk with Lance, Mackenzie had ensured she had some type of backstory planned. Something that was easy to remember but detailed enough that it didn't set him off. "I am from Washington state, more specifically Seattle. I actually just moved here a couple weeks ago. This place is very different from my home but I enjoy it so far." She smiled at him a little. Mackenzie liked it here a lot more than she did Hell.

"And I am not busy after lunch. We can go shopping." Glancing down at her food, Mackenzie took a bite, deciding to mull over her next responses. Though as she bit into it, her eyes lit up a bit, obviously enjoying the food. "Wow." She mumbled before taking another bite. There really was nothing quite like human food.... "This is amazing Lance."
Clara quickly nodded, "My name is Clara Winters. It is a pleasure to meet you Levi." She said softly to him. Oh she desperately wanted this to work out, and Clara believed that it really did have potential. What she wanted was a friend, though in the grand scheme of things, with how friends were meant to act, Clara wasn't actually asking for a lot from him. Everything that she was looking for, Clara wrote down on the paper she handed him. First of all, she knew that Levi wouldn't have all the time in the world to spend with her. She wanted them to hang out three times a week, for an hour and a half at least each time. Clara figured that was reasonable. Secondly, Clara wanted someone to do things with. So she had also written down that they shouldn't always do the same thing, that they should switch it up. Thirdly, Clara added that he wasn't allowed to attempt or get anyone else to shorten her lifespan. That she needed to die at her natural time.

The last important rule that Clara had placed on the paper was that Levi had to at least pretend to care about her and what was going on in her life. She knew that it was a tad be ridiculous to say that he had to care. After all, she couldn't force him to actually care. Though as well as she could feel on some level that he did, even if it wasn't true, that would be enough. Just to feel like someone had her back.

Though as Levi mentioned that he found it hard to believe she didn't have any friends, Clara's smile started to falter a little. It wasn't that she didn't expect him not to mention it, but on many levels it hurt her that she was unable to. Sometimes it kept her up at night, trying to figure out why or how she could do better. Clara gave him a little shrug. "We all have our difficulties." She told him softly.

Lance was thrilled this seemed to be going well. All of their other meetings had too, so maybe they could really connect, he thought to himself. When she told him about her backstory he just nodded between bites. “I’ve been to Seattle once, but that was when I was a little kid. Seattle is pretty different than New York though.” He commented and continued to eat. Lance was silent for a moment or two before looking up at her again. “So why did you move across the country? Big change, huh?” He commented. Lance turned his wrist and checked the time on his watch, it was early afternoon, so they had plenty of time to eat and talk, make it to cabellas, and he could drop her off at home later.

His eyes lit up when she liked the food. “I told you, this place has the best food!” He exclaimed, just as he finished up the mozzarella sticks, and turning back to his lasagna. He was a pretty fast eater, so he slowed down. Not wanting to rush her. “We can come back some time if you’d like.” he said and shrugged, taking th last few bites of his lasagna. Lance piled up his empty dishes and then looked across at Mackenzie. “I’m sorry I gotta take this.” He said as his phone began to ring. He stood up and stepped away from the table to take the phone call.

Lance’s younger brother, who had been getting into trouble, kept calling him when he got into extraordinarily deep trouble. This time he had tried to rob a grocery store because he lost all his money gambling and couldn’t afford to eat. Lance was pissed but agreed to go get him before the night was over. He wasn’t bailing on Mackenzie for his brother’s bad decision, but he also wouldn’t let his little brother rot for something like that. He would have some conditions, however, like that Jake had to come stay with him now, and abide by his rules. Lance finished the call and came back to the table with Mackenzie. “Dessert?”

    -

Levi took th paper from her hands and read through it. He was a hard person a lot of the time, it came with the violent personality of most demons, but he had a soft side too, which a lot of demons did, but none would ever admit or show for fear of weakness. Levi, however, didn’t mind showing it. He was Lucifer’s right hand man, he didn’t have a weakness. When he was done he tossed it slightly above his hand before the paper caught fire and disappeared. “Sounds like some good terms and o ndituons to me, fair enough anyways.”he said and looked over at Clara again.

Levi frowned as she did, he hadn’t meant to upse her, but in hindsight his commment was quite rude. “Fair enough, yours is loneliness and mine is I’m a terrible monster, I think they’re about even.” He said with a shrug as he looked around her room. “So Clara, tell me about yourself, what are things you’d like to do or like to do for when we hang out?” He asked as he rolled his sleeves up a little more. Levi wasn’t hot, quite the opposite actually, but he enjoyed the coolness of earths air against his skin.

Levi was taking in the surrounding of the room they were in. It may have just been his instinct but he needed to know everything going on around him at all times, he hated feeling any sort of vulnerablities. After taking in the room, his eyes shifted to Clara, and he took her in as well. She definitely was not a demon hunter, or of any true threat to him. He couldn’t place much on her. She did give off a very innocent and vulnerable vibe herself, and for that reason he was almost instantly very protective. It’s how he always was.
