Makenna woke up the next morning when his alarm went off. She got up and looked at Bryce, “See you in a little bit. I have to go get dressed.” She said, kissing him. She kissed him then left his house and went back to her house.

Makenna walked out of her house, seeing Bryce standing in the street smoking, “Ready?” She asked him. She walked with him to school and walked inside. She watched as Ashlyn approached them, “Hello slut.” She teased Makenna. “So…” She looked between the two of them, “Why was I not informed of this new relationship Mak?” She asked her, “I had to find out from dickheads snapchat.” She said, punching Bryce in the arm.

Makenna looked at her, “I didn’t have my phone.” She said, shrugging as she shut her locker.

Ashlyn nodded, “Did you two fuck?” She asked, seeing Makenna shake her head. “Bryce did you two fuck Makenna lies.” She teased them.

Taven came running and shoved Bryce into the lockers, “Hey fucker.” He said, laughing. He looked over as Collin joined them.

Axel walked over, “Hey guys.” He said, “So…I have someone I want you guys to meet at lunch. I’ve been talking to this girl.” He said. Taven and Collin smirked, “Oh have you now.” Taven teased him. Axel sighed, “Can you guys just be nice.” He said, looking at the guys. He rolled his eyes, “Makenna can you be nice.” He said. “You are the nice one of the group.” He said.

Ashlyn frowned, “Hey asshole I’m nice.” She said, shoving him. Axel looked at her, “Please you are an ass, Taven is a perv, Collin is quiet but anything he does say is sarcastic or mean and Bryce is just a dick.” He said, laughing. Axel looked at Makenna, “So will you be nice?” He asked.

Makenna sighed, “Why am I the nice one? I can be mean you know.” She said, hearing Taven and Bryce snicker behind her. She looked at Bryce, “Quit it.” She said, shoving him.

Axel smiled, “She’s just, not like us so please be nice.” He said as he the bell rang. He walked off to get to class.

Makenna looked at Bryce, “I have to get to English.” She said. She frowned when she heard the teacher behind them, “Mr. Jackson…time for your favorite class.” He said, motioning for him to come, “You too Mr. Larson.” He said to Taven. Makenna kissed Bryce before she left to go to her class with Ashlyn.

Ashton smiled, “This is perfect.” He said as he laid down. He put his arms around her as she laid there. “I wish we could just run away.” He whispered in her ear. “I just want you to be safe and with me.” He told her as he ran his fingers through her hair.

[I feel so bad that I made this part short. Did you have an idea of what you want to happen next?]

Bryce was happy with how he got to wake up, he groaned a little when she left. He really didn't want to go to school, but he knew he'd get to see Makenna, and his friends. Plus he had to finish a deal with someone. Getting ready, he made his way downstairs.

He waved at Ashlyn when she came up to the couple. He laughed a bit, he had just been excited about getting to finally have Makenna as his girlfriend. He smirked to Ashlyn when she asked if they had fucked. "Nah, we really haven't. Probably gonna have to save that for our wedding night." He winked, and nudged Makenna. When he collided with the locker, he turned around to find their favorite dealer/manager Taven. "Hey, dickbreath." He slugged his friend in the arm. The group was rowdy, then came Axel.

As he explained his situation with the new girl, Bryce just nodded, and kept kissing on Makennas cheek. His arms wrapped around her torso as the two of them stood there. Agreeing to be on his somewhat best behavior, Bryce gave Makenna a kiss, and reluctantly went to class with his friend.

As lunch time approached, Bryce talked with Nate about the deal they had to finalize. If all went well, and he got the money he was supposed to, he could take Makenna on a nice date. And he would be able to put more money back for his own place, or at least his own van so he could sleep somewhere mobile. He found Nate, and exchanged a few different kinds of drugs. He nodded, and went to the quad to see if he could find Makenna.

Looking around, he spotted her near the back corner, with the rest of their friends. Bryce jogged up, a new wad of cash now burning in his pocket. This was making him money on the side while the band was still on the come up. Makenna would understand, wouldn't she?



Two Months Later

Ashton had been living with Madi for a couple months now. She had upgraded her bed to a bigger size, and they had even started keeping their clothes in the same drawers. She enjoyed getting to wake up to him, almost every morning. The two had been keeping their relationship a secret, from everyone. Chris still believed him, and Madi to be dating; and Ashton as his best friend. Chris hadn't been nearly as harsh as he was in the past, sometimes he wouldn't even get upset with her. She was chalking it up to the new drugs he had been trying, though.

Taking a deep breath, Madi looked down the plastic test that was sitting on the bathroom counter. She looked to her best friend, Taylor, and both of their mouths dropped open. "So they can be wrong, right?" Madi felt her body go numb. If Chris found out, he would think the baby was his. But she knew there was no way that was possible. Running a hand through her hair, she shook her head, and took out her phone, she sent a message to her mom.

Taylor hugged her best friend, and told her to call her later. She was the only person, besides Aspens' mom, that knew about her and Ashton. Sitting in the living room, she thought about how she was going to tell Ashton. It was almost like she wanted it to be more special than just her blurting it out. With Christmas coming up in a few days, she thought it would be cute to announce it in a small present, just something between the two of them. It wasn't as though she was sure how he'd react, but she wanted to at least get the chance to comprehend it all herself.

Madi got herself ready, and sat down in the living room. Ashton had gone off to do whatever for the day, which gave her time to get his 'present' wrapped. Madi decided on a onesie that said, My Daddy's Tattoos Are Better. She smiled to herself, and sent a message to Ashton asking him to hurry up. She figured she could spend Christmas Eve with Ashton, and then Christmas with Chris. She was hoping once she told Ashton the news, that they could figure out how to get her away from Chris.

Kingston sat on the table with Colin as they watched people walk by. Kingston lit a cigarette as Bryce joined them, “What’s up asshole?” He asked. Colin stared into the distance as the two conversed.

Makenna sat with Ashlyn listening to her complain about some class she had. She looked over as Bryce joined them and sat on the table in front of her, “Hey.” She said, smiling up at him. “Where have you been?” She asked. Makenna looked over as Axel and his new girl approached them. Ashlyn shook her head, “Dear god did he pull her out of church.” She said. Makenna shook her head, “Oh geez.” She said, taking a sip of her water.

Kingston laid on the table staring up at the sky, listening to Colin ramble about the meaning of life. He looked over, “Dude…are you stoned?” He asked. Colin laughed, “Yea a little.” He said, laughing. Kingston shook his head, “You are just a fun one.” He teased his friend, “Holding out one me and Bryce I see.” He said.

Makenna looked over as Axel and his friend approached them. As he introduced her it was obvious she didn’t like Bryce just by her body language.

Ashton put his cigarette out as he stared at the text message. He walked into the apartment and shut the door, “You know you are awful impatient today.” He teased her. He set her gift on the counter and hugged her. He had been saving and selling drugs on the side to get her something actually worth having. Ashton kissed her, “Alright let’s get this started.” He said as he sat down with her on the couch. He handed her the gift, “You first love.” He said as he lit a cigarette. He had been doing okay with not doing drugs, but he was still doing them. He smirked as she opened the jewelry box that contained an expensive diamond necklace. “Just um..don’t where it around Chris alright.” He said. He didn’t want his friend to steal it.

Bryce smiled at his girlfriend as he sat down. “Oh yknow, just had to stop by the office and explain why I was late the other day.” He shrugged, and listened to his friends. He turned, and saw what they were talking about. The girl was not the usual type Axel went for. She didn’t even look like Axel was the type she would go for. Rolling his eyes, he moved so he could wrap his arm around Makenna’s shoulders. He watched as the group started with their usual banter. The only thing that really bothered him was Axel’s new girl giving him a side eye. He leaned to Makenna, “Would you fight her if I asked?” He chuckled, then kissed her cheek. He had made his comment loud enough for the friend group to hear.

Axel walked up to his friends, and cleared his throat. “You guys, this is Jess.” He happily wrapped his arm around the small girls waist, and looked to each of his friends, hopeful they would stick with their word. Axel looked to Makenna, and Ashlyn. “Um, that’s Makenna, that’s Ashlyn. The dumbass with his arms around Makenna is Byrce, but I’m sure you know who he is. Uh, Collin, and Kingston. And that’s it, I guess.” He was so nervous, his friends rarely liked the girls he brought by, and he knew this one would be difficult.

Jess cleared her throat, and smiled as best she could. She knew who Bryce was. He had actually slept with her older sister a year or so ago. She could remember hearing them, then hearing her sister cry for hours because he never called her back. She rolled her eyes, “Nice to meet you guys.” She wasn’t sure how to act around this group. Everyone knew about the band, and how good they were. Everyone also knew that they all did drugs, and typically sucked at relationships.

Bryce looked her up, and down. She looked familiar, but he really couldn’t put his finger on it. Shaking it off, he took a drink of his Red Bull, and continued to watch the group. “So, did you pick her up outside the clinic protesting abortions, or?” The other guys joined in the dark snickering humor. Axel however just gave a dirty look, and corrected him.

“We met in the counselor's office. She was changing one of her classes for next semester.” Axel was proud of his new found relationship. He wasn’t sure why she was into him, he didn’t care though. He figured if she really didn’t want to be with him, she wouldn’t. And it isn’t as though he was Mr. Popular.

Jess smiled, and locked her fingers with Axel, attempting to make it obvious that she didn’t scare easily. Meaning, anyone in the group could be mean to her, and she wouldn’t let it keep her from being with a guy she genuinely liked. “So, I heard the next show is coming up? Do you all go as a group, or?” She was hoping to make some sort of friends with the girls, but she knew how she could be. So she’d show whatever attitude they would throw her way.



Madi almost squealed when Ashton came through the door. She wrapped him in a tight hug, and giggled. “I know, but I’m really excited to give you your present!” She was almost jumping up and down. She followed Ashton to the couch, and sat down beside him. She didn’t mind that he smoked cigarettes more, it was a small sacrifice so he wouldn’t use nearly as much. Blushing as she took the present, Madi opened the box, and joyous tears began to well in her eyes. She sniffled, and looked to Ashton. “It’s beautiful. Oh my god, baby!” She kissed him, then sat back and grabbed his present.

She handed him the small, dark colored box with a little white bow. Holding her breath, she watched as he opened the present. “I hope you’re as excited as I am.” She wasn’t sure how any of this was going to work out, but she was happy to have this small light of happiness.

Makenna smacked Bryce in the arm when he said something mean. She looked at Jess when she mentioned the concert, "Yea we all go. You should come." she said.

Ashlyn rolled her eyes, "Just not dressed like a nun." she said, smirking. Kingston and Colin laughed along with Bryce.

Makenna sighed as her friends attempted to make the girl uncomfortable. Kingston stared at her, "Hey didnt Bryce fuck your sister?" He asked. Makenna looked at Bryce as she watched the light come on when he realized who Jess was. Makenna looked at Jess, who looked annoyed. Makenna bit her bottom lip lightly, hoping the girl didnt push Bryce's buttons. She knew he flipped out if pushed too far.

Ashton opened the present and stared a the onsie for a moment before looking at her. "Is the baby mine?" He asked. He felt bad for asking that but he knew she slept with Christ sometimes too. He smiled at her, "I am happy babe." he said as he kissed her. "I really am." He said. He wanted a life with Madi but he was worried about supporting a child.

Jess gave a sour look, not sure if she enjoyed the company of the girls. Or any of them, for that. She crossed her arms, and looked over to Axel. When her sister was brought up, she looked straight to Bryce, and grinned. At least he was being caught for what he was. “Yeah, he did. And he never called her after that.” She looked to Makenna, “You must be why.” She rolled her eyes. Makenna hadn’t attacked her, but Jess went for the weaker spot.

Axel gave Jess a warning look, which she ignored. “I’d be careful if I was you, honey. He’s known for fucking, and dumping. Unless, he’s just been dumping to go fuck you?” She gave a matter of fact look, then shut her mouth when Bryce stood up.

Bryce stood against Axel, the two of them almost meeting eye to eye. “Tell your girl to shut her mouth, before I shut yours.” He wouldn’t dare hit a girl, but he’d fight her boyfriend. It bothered him that it was his best friend, but it happened. He turned to face Jess, “And for your information, your sister decided to go fuck her math tutor, and told me to fuck off. So, leave Makenna out of this.” He snarled, and grabbed his bag. He looked to Makenna. “I’ll text you later.” He needed to leave for a little bit to cool down.

Axel grabbed Jess, and dragged her off. “That was totally uncalled for. Makenna and Bryce have been waiting a long time to finally be together. We’ve all been waiting for this to happen. If you wanna be able to stick around, stop being a bitch. My friends are sarcastic assholes, get over it.” He was more worried about Makenna being uneasy about what was said, and something ruining her, and Bryce.

Bryce went to the parking lot, and met up with Nate. He got into the black civic, “Look, I need to calm down, or leave. And I’m really not thinking weed is gonna help right now.” He shook his head. Nate didn’t say much, he just grabbed a baggie from his pocket. He produced a few white pills, explained they were painkillers. Bryce downed them like candy, and felt a mellow buzz take over. Slipping into a drug induced state, he looked to his friend who began to drive them away from the school. Bryce needed a break, and this was his break.



Madi felt a small sting when he asked the question, even though he had every right to. “Yes. Chris and I haven’t really been having sex. Just…” she trailed off, with the better assumption that Ashton didn’t want to hear the details. She smiled when he said was happy. “I know it’s a lot, but maybe now we can really figure out how to get me away from Chris.” She wrapped her arms around him, giggling. “I really can’t believe it! I’m gonna be a mommy next summer!”

She was terrified for Chris to find out. She knew it wouldn’t end well, or he’d try and claim the baby. She shook off the thought. “I set up an appointment next week to check everything.” She knew she couldn’t be very far along, but she was so excited. “We’re gonna have the chance to do things right.” Madi gently placed her hand on her stomach. Far from showing any physical signs, she smiled to Ashton. “I love you.”

Crawling into bed, Madi curled up beside Ashton, her head on his chest. She traced her fingers along his chest, making little hearts, or smiles. Looking at the clock, Madi leaned up. “Merry Christmas, baby.” She curled back beside him, and let the happy thoughts take over.

Instead of spending Christmas morning/day with Ashton, Madi was currently stuck in her own living room with Chris. He had stopped by to give her a present, which turned out to be him high on something, and coming over with a raging hard on. After Madi’s failed attempt to keep him off, and away, she was left sitting there feeling used. All she could do was play along, and hopefully things would end soon.She had to keep herself safe, for the baby.

Chris looked his ‘girlfriend’ up and down. She had been acting weird lately, and he was getting tired of it. Insisting they spend Christmas at her apartment, while her mom was at work and the unknown Ashton off doing whatever, Chris would have the chance to snoop. Excusing himself to the bathroom, he shut the door, and started looking through cupboards. He sighed, and found nothing. Figuring he’d find nothing, he turned and took a piss. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a purple box sticking out of the trash. Curiosity piqued; removing the box, the positive plastic test fell out at his feet. Picking up the little test, he stopped.

[I really don’t know how I want him to react.. lmao]

Makenna glared at the girl and frowned when Bryce got up and argued with Axel. She sighed as Bryce walked off, "Oh perfect." She muttered. Makenna went home after school and went to her room, grabbing her sketch book. She walked out and headed towards the shed in the woods. She sat down in the chair she had on front of it and began to draw. Makenna texted Bryce, Where the fuck are you? You just disappearing now? She sent the message then went back to drawing. She hated to think that what was said hurt him that bad. She stared at her drawing and leaned back in her chair. She didnt want to go home.

She looked over about thirty minutes later as Bryce came over. "What the hell Bryce?" She said as she got up, smacking him. "Why did you run off like that?" She asked, frowning when she realized how high he was and not his usual high. "What are you on?" She asked stepping back from him.

Chris walked out  tossing the box at Madi, "What the hell Madi you planning on never telling me?" He asked frowning. He was pretty pissed she was hiding something from him. "Are you pregnant?" He asked. He sighed when she said yes. "So what you going to keep it?" He asked. He wasnt thrilled at all. Babies took money and he wanted to spend his money on drugs not some slobbering baby. He groaned as he sat on the couch, "Perhaps you should just get rid of it." He said, looking over at her. He frowned as she looked mad. "Um do you have the money for a baby because I dont." He argued.

[I feel like Chris will hate the idea. haha]

Bryce ignored his phone going off, he just went to the shed. He knew where he would find Makenna. Or, he would at least have somewhere to lay off this high. He walked towards the shed, when he saw Makenna drawing. He wanted to take a picture of her, brag about her. But instead he found himself being smacked, and yelled at. Bryce didn’t try to put up a fight, or argue. “I just went to hang out with Nate.” He ignored her question about what he was on, because he honestly wasn’t sure at that point. “Nate had some stuff for me to try with him. So that’s what we did, no big deal.” He noticed her step back. A hollow feeling came to his gut.

“I’m just gonna go lay down for a few minutes. That stupid bitch from lunch really pissed me off. She’s lucky I don’t hit girls.” Bryce crashed onto the couch, and began to snore. He laid like that for a while, before he finally came to. He looked around the shed, not sure how he had gotten there. “What the fuck?” He sat up, rubbing his head. Makenna was at the table, doodling away, she looked so unhappy. “Did I do something?” The past few hours for him were a total blackout blur.

“Mak…” He cleared his throat, a horrible feeling in his stomach. “I didn’t mean for you to see me like that. I don’t know what came over me. I just …” He sighed, and let his head hang low. “I messed up last year, and you know I slept with people I shouldn’t have. But that’s all in the past. I just didn’t want it brought up around you. You don’t need to hear those things. I don’t want you to think I’m still that guy. And having people who know the old me around, it makes things harder.” Bryce wasn’t just a man whore, he was a very well known one. A lot of people enjoyed his music, so the band thrived. But not a lot of people actually liked Bryce.



Madi jumped a little when the box hit her leg. She cursed at herself for not throwing the trash out before he came over. Madi listened to what he was saying, anger washing over her. How badly she wanted to lash out, and tell him the baby wasn’t his. But she couldn’t, she couldn’t risk it right now. “I’m not getting rid of my baby.” She snapped, standing up. “And I would’ve told you sooner, but you really don’t care about anything unless it comes in a baggie, or their legs wide open.” She huffed, grabbing the box off the ground, she threw it into the trash. “If you don’t want to be apart of the baby’s life, that’s fine. Fuckin’ leave.”

She knew he wouldn’t. “I haven’t even gone to the doctor yet to see if it’s all for sure.” She rolled her eyes. Being young, poor, and clueless wouldn’t stop her from having her baby. After years of wondering what she was going to do after high school, she finally had her answer. With hope she could scare off Chris with the idea of her keeping the baby.

Excusing herself to the restroom, she sent Ashton a text:

Chris found out. Thinks it’s his. Idk what to do.

Her heart was racing as she paced around the bathroom.

Makenna frowned as he talked, before slamming her pencil down. "You know Bryce." She said, looking over at him. She got up and walked over to him, but not too close. "I deal with the fact hat you slammed your dick into whatever hole you were able to find. I can also deal with the fact that some days you are just a total dickhead. I can also deal with your commitment issues and lack of closeness." She said. "But you know what I cant deal with? A fucking pill head." she said, throwing the baggy that was in his jacket at him. "You lied to me." she said, "Not only did you lie but you took those pills and you did it knowing that I hate that." She said. "So dont sit there and act like its all about you fucking random people." She said. "I dont need another useless drugged out guy in my life. I have one of those and he beats me senseless every night." She argued. Even when she was mad her voice was soft and inviting. "I also have a mother who lays around with her eyes glass over half the time and does nothing when he hits me. So Yes Bryce you did something wrong. You fucked up." She yelled at him. "And your stupid!" She yelled as she shoved him. "But I love you." She added, "Like a fool." She said as she walked away and sat down in front of her sketch pad again. She wanted to cry but she couldnt find anything but anger for him in that moment.

Ashton frowned as be looked at the text, Dont worry about him babe. We will be away before you know it. He was determined to get Madi away from Chris.

Chris sighed and walked to the bathroom, knocking, "Madi im sorry come out. We can talk about this." He said. He knocked again, "Please Madi." He begged. "Im sorry. Im excited I swear." He lied. He didnt know exactly what he was feeling. He was more freaked out than anything.

He deserved it, he deserved every word she spewed at him. And he deserved to feel like a piece of shit. It was hurting his heart to hear her talk about her father, and mother, and him all in the same sentence. The last thing Bryce wan'ted to do was end up treating her the same way they did. Pills weren't in the original plan for him, but he wanted to try something new, now regretting the choice entirely. He caught his balance when she shoved him, surprisingly considering he wasn't expecting it. Scratching the back of his neck, he sighed, and lit up a cigarette. He felt like an idiot, and wasn't sure what to say. "I love you, Makenna." He walked over to her, and dropped to his knees. "God, I love you." He dropped his pounding head into her lap, and sniffled like a baby.

"I'm a fucking idiot, okay? I just... I don't know what I'm doing. I'm so afraid you're going to end up leaving because of my past. I know you know everything, or almost everything, but that's just my point. My past comes back to haunt me, so much. You don't need to get caught up in this shit." He shook his head, keeping his face buried in her lap, cigarette burning near his knee. "You deserve better, and I have no clue why you're with me."



Jumping a little, Madi left the bathroom, ignoring what Chris had said. She didn't want him to be excited, she wanted him to leave, it would help. But she knew he wouldn't. Sadly, he would probably end up staying for the entire pregnancy, maybe the child's first few months. Unless Madi, and Ashton figured something out, they would have to keep their secret much longer than needed. "What is there to even talk about? You just told me to get rid of the thing." She glared crossing her arms over her chest. "I already know what kind of father you would be. A drug addicted, possibly in jail, deadbeat." Madi would say it was her hormones making her this way, partially true, mostly not.

Their conversation continued, Chris kept trying to defend himself, and she would shut him down. Chris claimed he wanted to be in the child's life, Madi laughed in his face. He claimed he wanted to go the appointment, she told him flat out no. Madi already planned on taking Ashton to the first appointment. "Chris, I'm getting tired, and I have Christmas on my mom's side tomorrow, I gotta get some sleep." Their evening ended on a more calm note, with a hug.

Madi sighed, sitting in her bedroom. She played on her phone, and kept scrolling through different social medias. She was already planning a baby shower theme, and maternity pictures; her pintrest was practically made.

Makenna frowned and pushed him back some, grabbing his chin, “Bryce, listen you big dummy I do not or will I ever care about your past. Are you forgetting I’m the one that was there for all of it?” She said to him. “You are amazing and you do deserve me. You have a shitty past, but that’s what makes you so great. You right these amazing songs and you have a band that may actually make it. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like less of a person. You are so amazing and nobody will ever be good enough for you.” She said. She kissed him, pulling away, “But, don’t ever do those pills again. That is what is going to destroy you.” She whispered. “I won’t ever let your past scare me and I should have told her off when she said those things about you.” She said, “Jess is an idiot and just another preppy robot in that school. You are so much better than she is.” She said. “You know why?” She asked him, “Because as low as she went you didn’t do anything to hurt her back.” She told him. “Now stop begging me for forgiveness. You just made a little mistake.” She said. “One I won’t forget, but I can forgive you.” She said, running her fingers through his hair. “You are too perfect to do something so awful. Don’t be our pasts okay? We are trying to escape them remember?” She said, smiling a little.

Ashton walked into the apartment that night and knocked on Madi’s door. He smiled as she opened it, “Hey.” He said, kissing her. “How did things go?” He asked as he walked in and sat on her bed. “I’m sorry he acted that way.” He said. Ashton didn’t want Chris to be involved in the baby’s life. Ashton knew that it was his baby and Chris wasn’t going to fuck it up. He looked up at her, “I’m working on a way to get us out of this town.” He said. He hugged her, his head resting on her stomach. “I will get us out of this.” He said. “I love you so much.” He said, looking up at her. “Are you feeling okay?” He asked her. He knew that she had been having a little bit of morning sickness lately.

Bryce smiled while she spoke, it made him feel better to know she wasn’t going to runaway. “I don’t care about Jess, anymore. It’s over with, as long as you’re staying, I’m happy.” He kissed her back, sighing softly. “I won’t touch the pills anymore, but I can’t promise I won’t sell some on the side to help with money.” There was no more lying to Makenna. “We’re going to escape this town. We’re going to escape it all. My band will make it big, and you’re coming with us. You’re going to help take pictures of our shows, and be in my bed every single night.” He stood up, and held his hands out. “Let’s go get something to eat, the guys said they wanted to meet to get pizza, and see a movie.Apparently Jess is going to be there. Maybe you, and Ashlyn can help get her a new outfit for the show.”



Madi sighed, explaining how Chris wanted her to get an abortion, then quickly claimed how he wanted to be in the baby’s life. “I don’t want anything to do with Chris. He can go fuck himself. This is our baby, and our future.” She sighed, and ran her hands through his hair. “I love you too. I’m okay, my appointment is next Wednesday. I’m really happy you’re gonna go with me.” She leaned down, and kissed the top of his head. The rest of their lives were being planned for them.

Madi’s stomach dropped, Chris was already telling people? She showed the message to Ashton. “This isn’t okay.” She felt sick, and not like how she had been. Chris was so positive the baby was his, and it scared her. She didn’t know what he would do if he found out the truth.

Makenna smiled, "Okay lets go meet them to get pizza." She said. She left the shed with him and headed to the pizza place. She walked inside with him, seeing Jess sitting with everyone. A part of her wanted to hit her but she knew better than to do that.

Kingston smirked, "Bout time you assholes showed up." he said before taking a sip of hia soda. "Bryce please tell these dicks we are getting the same pizza we always get and not something different." He said.

Makenna sat down and looked at the waitress, "Can I have a coke please?" She asked as she let Bryce sit beside her. She sat down next to him and relaxed against him.

Ashton sighed as he read over the text message, "god dammit i hate that guy." He said. He bit his bottom lip lightly, "We need to find a way for you to tell him. How long are you going to keep up this lie?" He asked. Ashtom ran his fingers through her hair.

Bryce chuckled as he sat down with his friends, he felt Makenna tense up some when she saw Jess. Squeezing her hand, he kept his arm around her shoulders as they sat down in the booth. “Who the hell said we were gonna get something besides our usual?” He rolled his eyes, seeing that Jess looked down shamefully. “We don’t change shit up. If you want your own pizza, you can order your own pizza. But this is the group pizza, and we don’t change shit up.” He took a drink of his coke as the waitress came back.

The girls name was Lyndsey, “We’re just gonna take the usual, Lyns.” Bryce shot her a smile, then glared back to Jess.

Axel wrapped his arm around his girlfriends shoulders. “Could you leave her alone, douchebag? She’s not going anywhere.” If people in the group had a problem, they would talk about it in front of everyone. It had to usually do with everyone, so why not. “I mean, you don’t have to be an ass to impress anyone anymore.”

Bryce rolled his eyes, “I’m an asshole, because I’m an asshole. Just keep your girlfriend in line, because I don’t think mine is above kicking her ass.”

Jess cleared her throat, “I don’t fight. I’m not trashy like that.” She stuck her nose to the girls, and rest of the group.

Bryce clenched his jaw, but kept his mouth shut. There was no need to start a fight with someone, not now anyway. He was hoping once everyone ate, the girls could go shopping, maybe make nice. It was obvious he wasn’t going to be making nice with Jess anytime soon.



“I really don’t know.I can’t keep it up forever. I was hoping he wouldn’t find out, and then I could just ride out the pregnancy without seeing him, or something.” She really hadn’t thought about the situation at all. She wasn’t sure what to do, or how to get away from Chris. “Look, I don’t know what he’s going to do when he finds out. I’m terrified he’ll try to hurt me.” Madi knew Chris, and so did Ashton. The situation was entirely too messy.

A few weeks later, Madi was confirmed to be around ten weeks pregnant. She had a couple sonograms that she had in her purse at all times. Walking into the school’s bathroom, she took a quick picture in the mirror, and sent it to Ashton. We miss you. Chris was still convinced the baby was his, and Madi was still trying to figure out how she was going to tell him otherwise. Sighing as she went to her last class of the day, she sat down beside Calvin, who wouldn’t stop whispering about how excited he was to be an uncle.

Madi couldn’t take it, it was killing her. “Calvin, you need to know something… Chris isn’t the father of my baby.”

Calvin sheepishly grinned, “I know. I know you’re still sleeping with Ashton, and that he’s been living with you. We are best friends, after all. Him and I are closer than Chris, and I are.” He stretched his arms in front of himself. “If I were you, I would tell Chris as soon as possible, though.”

Makenna sighed as the three argued again. She took  sip of her drink, rolling her eyes at Jess's comment. Another person to act like they were better than them. She didnt like Jess and she wasnt going to.

Kingston frowned as he heard the three arguing, "Can you not act like a snobby bitch? We avoid people like you for a reason." He said to Jess.

Collin looked out of the window, keeping to himself as usual. He didnt like to get involved in things.

Makenna looked at Bryce, seeing the anger growing in him. She watched as Jess got up to go to the bathroom then looked at Axel, "Axel she is awful. what the fuck is wrong with you?" She asked.

Ashton smirked as he looked at the picture of Madi. He sighed as he laid down on Chris, couch staring at the ceiling. They had been dealing earlier that morning. Ashton almost had enough for a place he was looking for away from the town. He wanted to save up enough for rent til he got settled. He was doing pretty well.

Jess wasn’t sure what to say when Kingston opened his mouth. Instead of fighting back, she decided to excuse herself to the restroom. Slamming herself in the bathroom stall, she got on her phone, and texted a few of her friends. Exclaiming how bad she wanted to get out of here.

Axel rolled his eyes, “She’s really not that bad. When it’s just her, and I she’s super cool. She doesn’t argue, or say anything rude. I just don’t think she knows how to act around you guys.” He finished his coke, shaking a little with annoyance. “Plus, have you guys ever seen a girl actually interested in me? Because I havent. And if she is, I’m going to take it for what it is. I just wish you guys would give her a chance.” He looked to Bryce, “Maybe if you didn’t stick your dick in anything that walks, we wouldn’t have so many girls mad at you.”

Bryce chuckled, and shook. “You’re really starting to piss me off. I would love for everyone to get along, but your bitch girlfriend is making it a little difficult. So until you tell her to drop her ‘better than you’ attitude, I’m gonna keep being a dick. The choice is yours, dude.”

Jess came back from the restroom, her eyes a little red, and puffy. She was mad at herself for being such a bitch for no reason, not that she’d admit it. “I’m gonna get going. My mom called, said she wants me home. Axel, she said you can come hang out if you want.”

Standing up with his girlfriend, he wrapped his arm around her waist. “I would love to. Let’s go, babe.”

Bryce scoffed, “Yeah help her pull that stick outta her ass while you’re at it.” He was oblivious to the signs that she had been crying. “So, are we gonna go see a movie? Or do y’all just wanna get high or some shit.” He wasn’t in the best mood. In fact when Bryce was mad, not a lot could calm him down.



Chris left the kitchen, and saw Ashton lying down on the couch. “So dude, did I tell you, I’m gonna be a dad.” He shook his head with a defeated look in his eye. “Madi refuses to get an abortion, she’s stupid as hell.” He sighed, too annoyed to explain. “She’s not even that far along. Like kids are expensive, man. I love smoking, and fucking around too much to be a dad.” He let his head hang. “She told me I could leave, I’m thinking ‘bout it. She could raise the kid alone. Happens.” He lit up a cigarette, and sat back. “You and I could skip town, soon. Got enough money saved.”

Madi didn’t bother to knock on the door to Chris’s house, she just walked on in. “Hey guys.” Her eyes connected with Ashton first, her stomach fluttered. When she saw Chris, her stomach dropped.

Chris looked to Madi, “I just told Ashton the exciting news!” He stood up, and walked over to her, wrapping her in hug.

She wanted to throw up. Ashton already knew, of course he already knew, he was the father. How badly she wanted to scream, but she knew she couldn’t. Chris would end her, then there would be no baby to talk about, or claim.

Makenna rolled her eyes as Axel left with Jess. Kingston sighed, "So I get their share of the pizza right?" He teased. Makenna looked at Bryce when he mentioned doing something, "Lets go see a movie we havent done that in forever." She said, smiling.

Ashlyn nodded in agreement, "Im with Mak we should see a movie." She said as she leaned against Kingston.

Makenna looked at Collin, "Collin is going." She said and he just nodded. He was so easy to manipulate. Makenna looked at Bryce and wrapped her arms around his waist, smiling. She was glad when the pizza came. "Yum." She said as she took a piece.

Ashton frowned when he mentioned leaving, "I dont know man. I kind of like it here." he said. When Madi walked in he looked at Chris as he acted completely different. Ashton nodded, "Yea congrats." He said, playing along. He sighed as he walked out and stood on the balcony, lighting a cigarette. He couldnt believe that Chris was wanting to skip town together. Ashton would never leave Madi like that.

Bryce was glad the group was able to get over their friend ditching them. He ate his pizza while looking up movie times. He saw that a new horror movie was playing soon. He mentioned it to the group, and everyone agreed. Once they were done eating, they all went to the theater on the other end of the mall. Bryce paid for his ticket, and Makenna’s. “Do you want candy or anything?” He bought a few different snacks, and grabbed the candy she asked for. Finding a row of seats towards the middle, the group sat down, and everyone got comfortable.

Sliding his arm around Makenna, he watched as the previews started. Kingston started in on saying how he wanted to see almost every movie, Bryce joined in on the comments. “Okay, so if you had to choose, would you fuck Zac Efron, or David Franco?” Bryce nudged Kingston, who started choking on his popcorn in a fit of laughter.

It was nice to unwind, and act like actual teenagers for a change. With the band, and their home lives, it was impossible to unwind from time to time. They partied but they only go for their shows, they stay for the publicity. It was hard to believe most of them were only juniors, and seniors. They all acted way older, and handled things better than most kids their age.

As the movie started, blood and guts were spewed across the screen in seconds. Bryce leaned over to Makenna, “If you get too scared, just lemme know.” Teasing her of course.



“Man, this town has nothing for us. You don’t have a girlfriend holding you back, or a stupid kid on the way. I might go whether you do, or not.” He shook his head, disappointed that his best friend wasn’t as willing to go as he was. He could remember when they were younger, all the times they talked about running away, getting out. Chris almost felt hurt by his friend, but he ignored it. He had bigger things to worry about. After Madi was inside, and they were done hugging, he watched Ashton leave to the balcony. “He’s been super moody today.”

Madi watched Ashton go outside, she decided to go change into her comfier clothes. She wasn’t showing much, but she still had a small bump forming. Putting on her slippers, she wrapped herself in a fuzzy blanket, and went to the balcony. Chris made a comment about going to get dinner from wherever he had ordered from. At least he knew her well enough to know what she would eat. Walking up behind Ashton, she wrapped her small arms around him with the blanket. “Hi daddy!” She giggled. “Sorry, thought it’d be cute, since y’know your asshole friend is trying to claim your kid.” Madi was exhausted from school, and she was starting a new part time job at the diner in a few days, so she had been training. “I’m not ready to be working. I’m really thankful they’re so understanding of my situation, though.”

Her mom had encouraged her to get a job for a little bit, at least to be able to save up more. Madi knew once the baby came she would have to move out, well before that even. “So, I don’t want you to freak, but my mom said we should probably start looking for a new place soon. Which means we have to tell Chris, and I mean soon.” Her dad was moving back in with her mom, and so was her younger brother. Madi needed to be able to give up her room. Besides the fact her father was still clueless to what was happening with his daughter.

Makenna sat with Bryce and laughed as Kingston almost choked on his popcorn. She looked at Bryce when he spoke to her, "Are you kidding these are my favorite." She teased him. She watched the movie, laughing as Kingston and Collin made jokes the whole time. Kingston watched the screen, "Run bitch run." He said, laughing with them. Their group was rowdy and luckily there wasnt too many people in the theater.

Once the movie was over she got up and walked out with Bryce. She had really liked the movie. She watched as Ashlyn came running and shoved Kingston into the wall, laughing as he almost fell over.

Makenna looked at Bryce, "So now what?" She asked him. Honestly she just wanted to be alone with him and sleep in his arms again. She smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

Ashton looked at her when she mentioned having to tell chris, "Mads he wants me to move with him. Like leave you here." He said. He looked at her, "Im not going to leave you though. "We have to figure something out." He said. "Hes pissed im not running off with him. I got some money saved up though." He explained.
