A Thousand Years [Closed]

Ayasha sighed as she stepped from her car, brushing her hand over skirt, she wasn't looking forward to this year. It was her last year and once she was finished with school she planned on heading back to Los Angeles. She'd just spent her summer there having had the best time she'd had ever. She knew that her life in La Push was going to change since she'd spent the summer away from her friends and family. It would be better, she'd just have to make sure she'd steer clear of certain people and it would be fine. Her art work and small jobs would keep her busy after school. But she'd need to pass classes this year too. Nibbling on her lip she grabbed her bag before deciding to make the trek into the building. Her eyes sweeping the parking lot for any faces looking for her friends. She'd missed an entire summer away from them. And she'd changed a lot. Her body mainly, having been a bit chubby, now she was supporting curves in the right places. And really it was her way of getting back at people who'd bullied her, making them eat their words. She rolled her eyes noticing a small group of guys hanging out next to the entrances. They were being loud and rambunctious, her brow raising as she took in the changes of some of the guys. She noticed Jared, but what really caught her eye was Paul. He looked like he went on a steroid trip. Shaking her head she just chose to ignore them, it would be best for them to remain on opposite side of the school.

Edward moved through the house doing his best to avoid his siblings. The last thing he wanted right now was to hear their thoughts about their time spent over the summer. Normally they'd be a family and do things together. But they all paired up and took off, some went to visit old friends while others spent it in romantic places. Edward being the only one with out a mate spent the summer traveling. It was a nice pace to get away, and not be a third wheel. He'd always felt that way once they settled into Forks. But it was only a matter of time before they left. Though this time it would be a bit harder since they had made friends with the La Push wolves. They normally stuck to themselves, but since the wolves were finally excepting their hand in friendship things were changing. Emmett for instances finally found someone who he could constantly beat up on. It was a nice change of pace, slipping into his car he quickly drove to school. Not worrying about making it on time, he was never late.

(Hope this doesn't suck, lol)

Paul took and got off the bike as he laid his helmet down on the seat. He noticed Ayasha coming through the parking lot as he grinned at her. "Well, well." He grabbed her in a hug and smiled. "I am glad to see that you're back home." He grinned winking at her. He took and walked with her over to Jacob and Embery. "Did you have a good summer?" Paul smiled at her as they walked together.

Aurora frowned as she looked at the combined schools. She looked at her dad knowing he was the new sheriff around here. She hated this, she wanted to go back to the city. Where she was more content, and didn't have to deal with this type of weather anymore. "Dad can we please go back to Phoenix?" She questions him.

"We can't baby. This job is good for us. The house is nice too." Daryl smiled. "I promise you'll get used to it. Plus I got you a truck so you can drive yourself from now on." He smiled.

"Fine." She grumbled sliding out of the car. She slung her backpack onto her shoulder and walked off sighing heavily.

Ayasha furrowed her brows when Paul pulled her into a hug, her body tensing. She knew that Paul was never nice to her unless he was trying to pull a prank. She really didn't respond to him very well having her walls up and herself guarded. She knew that he'd always been an asshole, so this sudden change in him was just him being a dick. She couldn't fall for his pretty smile like she'd done in the past. "It was good." She said before shaking him off, she smiled at Jacob and Embery feeling no hard feeling towards them. But the way they looked at her almost made her skin crawl. It was like they were being judgmental. And she felt like junior year all over again. But this time she wasn't about to allow them to get the best of her. Shrugging Paul off she waved at them before moving to head into the school, not really wanting to waste her time on Paul and his stunts.

Edward pulled into the parking lot, before stepping from his car. His brother's had beat him there. He was glad that they'd made friends with the wolves, it gave Emmett someone to fight with. It also kept him busy and not bothering Edward with his sexually thoughts. Out of all of the group Paul and Emmett were the worst with their thoughts. He knew that Paul did it to get under his skin, but Emmett really couldn't keep Rosalie off his brain. Stopping at the guys he smiled greeting them. He could feel people's eyes on him and hear thoughts of their curious minds. He knew that most people were drawn in by his good looks. It was part of his predatorily effect.

Paul sighed as he watched her walk onward into the school. He stared at Jacob and Embery seeing the two laughing. "You just got burnt." Embery laughed.

"Pipe it." Paul growled out sighing. He knew this wouldn't be easy. But couldn't fight the feelings. He couldn't fight what had happened. He knew that she was his soul mate, but the way he'd treated her in the past. Was catching up to him in the present.

Aurora looked around the school once her dad had left. She shoved her hands into her jacket. Walking in she spotted a few people by their cars and smiled at one. He was rather handsome. Pale complexion, golden auburn hair, he was just to die for. Going through the school and into the office, Aurora got her schedule and made her way to find her locker to prepare for the day that laid ahead of her.

Ayasha rolled her eyes as she entered the school, she wasn't looking forward to all the idle chit chat that would be happening. There wasn't anyone she'd missed back here. She didn't have any friends, since everyone was always to busy laughing at the pranks Paul pulled. She couldn't find it in herself to be friends with people who laughed at her misfortune. She knew it was petty but she wanted someone to know her pain and not laugh at it. Sure she changed the things they'd pick on her for, but she knew that forgetting was a lot harder than forgiving. Moving to her locker she opened it before pushing the things in it she wouldn't need right now. Before closing it and heading to her first class.

Edward furrowed his brow catching a new scent on the wind, turning his head his eyes landed on a new girl walking into the school. His eyes raking over her body, taking in her curves as she moved. He was intrigued but he knew that he'd never put the life of a human in danger. Just going to school with him could end badly for them, but he couldn't deny his want to be normal again. Granted he'd lived for decades and done the same thing over and over again. But it played into a life he'd never got to have.

Paul took and sighed a little as he looked at the gang. He walked inside getting his books out. He made his way with the others to their first class and sat down. He saw Ayasha was in it and smiled at her, "Look, I know I have been a dick to you. A royal one." He admitted. "Do you think we could attempt to start over?" He questioned her.



Aurora smiled as she walked into the class. Feeling all eyes on her she took and shook her head. She quickly found a seat slinking into it. She hated to be the new student, and have all eyes on her. She bit on her lip as she tapped her pen against her notebook lightly and sighed to herself.

Ayasha dropped herself down in one of the chairs at the back of the classroom. It was a place she could sit with out being noticed, she'd normally draw most of the classes. Pulling out her notebook she looked up just in time to see Paul waltzing over. Sighing she stared blankly up at him. "And what do you get out of it?" She asked wondering why now of all times he was trying to be nice to her. Was it because she'd lost weight, because he'd tormented her about it for so long that she really beat herself up over it. But she couldn't think of any other reason. But there was no way she was going to be a notch on his belt.

Edward entered class just as the bell was about to ring. He took notice that every seat in the classroom was taken except one. And he luck it was right next to the window, and the new girl. Moving over he placed himself down beside her. Pulling his note book out, not that he needed it. He after all could read minds and if he needed the answer he could get it out of the teacher. But since he'd already taken this course before he doubt he'd ever need to. He pretty much got everything right. There was times that he would purposely write the wrong answer just so that he wouldn't have a perfect score.

Paul sighed, "I deserved that." Paul admitted. "I get the chance to know you. And become friends, I hope." Paul looked at her. "You look really good, you always have, Ayasha." He admitted to her. "I am sorry I acted the way I did. Maybe after school, we could hang out at La Push or something?" He offered trying everything he could to get her to agree.



Aurora looked over at him and bit her lip. He was very gorgeous. She took and began taking the notes as the teacher had told them. She cleared her throat hearing the small talk. "I'm Aurora." She whispered staring at the guy beside of her as she looked at him a moment before taking and going back to her notes.

Ayasha rolled her eyes at his words, she felt like he was pulling another one of his pranks. "What so you can pour pig blood on me, no thanks." She told him before tucking her head into her note book. She didn't know if he'd catch her Carrie reference but, that's how she felt. She was scared to let anyone in because they always did something to hurt her in the end. And Paul having been the biggest ass she'd ever met, she wouldn't put it past him to let her fall for him before breaking her heart.

Edwards felt a smirk form on his face, her thoughts on him were something he'd heard before. But something about the way she was fighting to keep his looks from her mind. It entertained him, he smiled at her. "I'm Edward." He threw back, his voice soft not wanting the teacher to catch them talking. He knew that this was a far as it would go, being friend with a human wasn't good for them.

Letting a sigh escape his lips, Paul just shook his head. He'd let her know one way or another he wasn't doing what he'd done before. He turned his attention towards the teacher and listened. Thinking of ways on how to take and get her attention and prove himself.

Aurora smiled at him and listened to the teacher a little. She bit her lip and kept her gaze up front for a moment. "Nice to meet you." She whispered out as she looked at him before doodling in her notebook.

Ayasha smiled as she stepped outside, glad that they had a break for lunch. Moving through and around the crowds of kids, she found her a seat in the shade under a tree. Her notebook propped on her lap as she munched on an apple. Letting her attention focus more on the book than her food, she soon got lost in drawing.

Edward sighed, the one time he hated being at school was lunch time. It was weird trying to eat human food, since his body had no need for it. Luckily since they've befriended the wolves, they got the food and the wolves ate it. All they had to do was act like they were eating. Sitting down next to Embry he smiled listening to the wolves thoughts before handing him his pizza. The wolves had huge appetites and the schools just didn't provide enough for them, so it was a win win.

Paul saw the drawing she was working on and smiled. She really had a talent. He took and walked and sat down not far from her, but not near her either. He began eating his lunch and glanced over his shoulder as he talked to Jacob. He needed to talk to her more, and get her to believe that he wasn't the same ass he'd been. "Hey Ayasha." Paul said staring down at her. "That's a nice drawing." He complimented.

Aurora took and grabbed her small lunch and made her way out. She frowned finding a spot underneath a tree. She sat down on the ground and began picking at her food. She grabbed her note book and began writing in it. She sighed to herself looking at the people and frowning a little as she continued writing.

Lifting her eyes to him she glared, "do you even know what at it is." She asked him, wondering what gave him the right to decided if it was good work. She turned back to her drawing, upon her arrival to La Push she'd noticed some changes in wild life. There'd been a pack of wolves laying claim to the land, and that's what she decided to portray in her art.

Edward smiled as he listened to the conversation going on around him, he shook his head. Laughing his stood taking his tray up to put it up. Moving through the place, he stopped noticed Aurora writing next to a tree, furrowing his brow he frowned. He didn't get it he couldn't hear her thoughts. Earlier they'd been clear and now he was barely catching things. Looming close to her he frowned down at her. "Haven't made friends yet?" He asked her, wondering why he couldn't hear her thoughts.

"On that piece. "Paul slightly chuckled, "Yes I do." He replied turning back to the guys. He needed to figure ways to get her attention. He knew he'd imprinted on her, and it was killing him trying to get her attention and get her to notice or even talk to him at this point.

Aurora glanced up from her notebook and smiled, "I haven't." She said to him. "I guess I am not sociable I suppose." She smiled shyly before looking back at her notebook. "You are the talk of all the girl's. Yeah I get you're cute. But I don't get what's so special." She looked up at him.

Ayasha rolled her eyes before setting her work aside and turning her full attention to him, "then what is it genius?" She snarkily questioned him. She didn't like the way he keep looking at her, it made her feel weirded out. It was the first time he'd really ever looked at her face or addressed her without having that asshole cockiness. Sure he still was cocky but he wasn't quite a dick.

Edward smiled down at her, "the day's still young." He told her, a pun much intended. He watched her expression change, before he mock playfully hurt. "Wow, way to bruise a guys ego." He told her playfully, "you know they only care about looks." He shrugged, knowing that she was right what made him so special. But his looks were meant to lure people in. And he never talked to anyone outside of his family and the pack. So no one could possible think he was special.

Paul turned and looked at her, upon her question. "It's a wolf pack, worming in the woods." Paul told her and got up walking over and sitting beside of her. "It's very artique, and marvelous in my oppion. It represents the rumors spreading in town about wild animals lurking, and you brought that out in this piece." Paul looked at her and smiled.

"I think that's a lot of society's problem. People look upon other people with their looks. But it isn't about that." She cleared her throat staring at him as she tilted her head a little and smiled lightly. "It's about what's deep down and inside of a person. Their personality, soul, etc." She giggled grabbing her notebook. She rose to her feet, "So I guess they just see looks. I kind of see someone who's kind when provoked." She grinned patting his shoulder walking off.

Surprise formed on her face, though he was right. "It's just what I saw in the woods out side my house." She informed him, part of her talent came from being able to remember small details. She found the simplest things beautiful. And she loved wild life, she couldn't explain it but it made her happy to capture it accurately. "Thank you." She told him softly, not really wanting to be nice to him. But he was going out of his way to actually compliment her, something he's never done before.

Edward froze her scent invading his nostrils, something about it was so alluring. All of a sudden he felt a calm wash over him, turning to look over at Jasper he frowned at his adopted brother. He knew his ability to control emotions had him relaxing. Rolling his eyes he finished what he set out to do by putting the tray up, then moving back out to the open area. They had a few minutes before the bell rang and they went back to class.

"You're quiet welcome." Paul smiled to her. "Do you have anymore with the wolf pack? Or any other nature art?" He questioned smiling at her. She had a talent and he loved what he seen and wanted to see more.

Looking around, Aurora took and headed up into the woods. She decided skipping the rest of the day. She smiled finding a small cool, dark, secluded spot. She sat down and opened her notebook as she began again. This time drawing. Drawing Edward Cullen. Something about him lured her in and she couldn't explain it.

Ayasha smiled softly feeling the happiness spread inside of her. She'd tried her best not to allow him to break through her walls, but the one things she learned over summer break was how to have friends. She wanted that here but she still felt hurt by the fact that he tormented the hell out of her. She felt the need to put her wall back up. "No all my work is in LA." She told him, knowing she did have pictures or some sketches laying around somewhere. But she wasn't about to let him know to give him any ammo on how to get her to crumble. Her art was always a way yo getting her to open up.

Edward sat around with the guys listening to them discuss things that he'd rather not. Looking around he noticed that most of the pack was scattered around enjoying their break. Edward looked around noticing that some people were starting to head into the school. Knowing the bell would be ringing soon, he stood and started to walk into the school. Only to be stopped by the entrances, a scent catching his attention. Frowning he realized that Aurora had skipped school. Smiling he knew that he couldn't say much about skipping he did it a lot. But he'd also had several years more of schooling than she could ever.
