    Today was the day my family and I were moving to Seattle. My dad had gotten a job there and first it was just going to be him moving but when my mom found out about his other lover, she threatened to leave him and take me with her back to her parents house in Maryland. My dad swore it was over between him and his lover but I didn't believe it.

    I knew I didn't want to leave. As much as I always wanted to visit Seattle, I didn't want to leave my best friend. He was my first everything: first kiss, first boyfriend, even though we only dated for about seven months before deciding we were better off as best friends, he was even my first uh...well you know. I lost my virginity to him. Anyways I didn't want to leave him.

    While my parents packed the rest of our things up, I told them I was going to see Matt. He lived on the next street over so after having all my things packed, I slipped on some shoes before heading to Matt's. When I got there, I knocked on the door, waiting for him to open it.

    I was rather sad that Brooklyn was leaving. I knew that I couldn't see her. It saddened me that I wouldn't be able to see her. Perhaps I could go and see her whenever summer came along. I heard a knock on my door, knowing that it would be her. I opened it and smiled when I saw her. "Hey there Little Bird," I said to her, it was the nick name that I had given her years ago. I wrapped my arms around her in a hug. I honestly thought about stealing her and not letting her parents take her away from me. Maybe I could drive up and see her during the summer. "I'm gonna miss you. In fact, after I graduate, I'm going to come up and see you, and I'm gonna bring you back here where you belong." I said. Although she wasn't my first, I had dated Brooke for about seven months before we both decided that we would be better of as friends. Even after that, we had been so close, inseparable, actually.

    I smiled as he called me by the nickname he had given me when we were like twelve. I hugged him back. "Hi." I sighed as I looked up at him. "My parents are finishing up packing, they're mad I'd rather come visit you then help them." I sighed as we sat down on the porch swing. I smiled. "I'll miss you too and I would love it if you came to see me after graduation." I grinned, leaning my head on his shoulder.

I said, staring off down the street. "You can't just move to a completely different state without saying goodbye to your best friend " I told her.

I sighed and kissed Matt's cheek once more before going over to the door behind my dad and getting in. I waved at Matt as my dad drove off. I had a feeling this was the last time I'd ever see him.

    My life was great. My band was thriving. We had just released our fourth album, it was the self titled one. I was happy to be in this point of my life. The only thing missing was my best friend Brooke. My Little Bird. We had fallen out of contact, but I never forgot her. Just like I promised. I walked into Johnny's bar with my band mates. We were going to get shitfaced to celebrate our new album.

    In the last ten years my life had gone from bad to worse. My parents split up within a year of us moving to Seattle. My father had found a new lover and my mother had had enough finally, she left, going back home to Maryland. She tried to drag me with her but since I was over the age of eighteen, I had a say in whether or not I wanted to go.

    I didn't and the only reason I didn't was because of my boyfriend. He was the only constant in my life. I met him around the first month of my senior year and we began dating a couple months after. We stayed together for a long time too. I thought he was the one and that we were going to get married.

    That was until the abuse started. He began drinking and we would get into arguments. I suspected him of cheating on me but he always denied it and said I was the one cheating, which wasn't true. The more I bugged him about it, the angrier he got and then he got physical. He beat me so bad one time I had to call into work and tell them I wouldn't be there for at least three days because my face was so swollen.

    I finally got tired of it here recently and decided to leave. I wanted to go back to Huntington Beach. I wanted to go back to Matt. I needed him more now than ever.

    I smiled at a joke that Brian had told me. I honestly was wondering how my Little Bird was doing. I know I had changed a lot. Physically and personality. I was looking around the bar whenever I saw the bar doors open. I was surprised to see Brooke standing there. She had grown to be a beautiful woman. I got up from my seat, and made my way over to her. Finding myself standing behind her, I smiled. "Long time no see Little Bird," I said, hoping that she would recognize me.

    I smiled when I heard my nickname and turned around seeing Matt. I instantly hugged him. "Matt.." I sighed. My body was covered in bruises from the night before. My face was too but I had stolen Colton's tattoo coverup stuff and put it on any visible bruise. I know I would have to explain it all to Matt but not now. I stepped back, "wow...you've changed." I breathed out.

    I wasn't going to lie. I missed Brooke. I missed my best friend. She was right. I had changed. I was covered in tattoos. I was famous. I had gotten more muscle on my body, and my voice had gotten deeper. "You've changed too, Little Bird." She was beautiful. Even more so than when she was in high school. "Let me buy you a drink," I told her with a smile. I didn't know if she had known that I had become famous, that I had the money I did. "How long are you going to be in town?" I asked as I led her over to the bar.

    I bit my lip as Matt walked me to the bar. His friends he had been with seemed to watch us and then whisper to one another. I wondered if Matt had ever mentioned me to them. "Probably for good. I'm going to have to stay at a hotel though until I can find a place." I said, sitting down on one of the bar stools.

    I gave her a smile. "Well I'm glad that you'll be back for good. You don't have to stay in a hotel though," I told her. "I'v e got plenty of space at my house, you're more than welcome to stay with me for as long as you need to Little Bird," I told her. I ordered another beer and told the bar tender that whatever she wanted would be put on my tab. I knew that it was already high, but having thousands of dollars in your bank account, made a hundred dollar tab non existant.

    I looked over to see Brian, Zacky, and Jimmy whispering like a bunch of high school girls. I laughed slightly. "They know who you are, That's Brian, he's probably thinking about how he would like to sleep with you. That's Zack, he probably wants to take you home and show off his house and hang out, and that tall lanky fuck is Jimmy. He's probably thinking that he has a new drinking buddy. As for where short shit is, I have no idea." I told her. "They were around in high school. I had talked about you a lot, they just never thought that they would ever see you in person." I explained to her, taking a sip of my beer. "I'm sorry for never coming up to Seattle to see you.." I said apologetically. "The band really hit it off, and we were touring around trying to get popular, I just never had the money to come up and see you." I rubbed the back of my neck before looking back up at her. "I want to take you to all the nice places though. A lot has changed since you left. " I took a long drink of my beer, hoping that she wouldn't be mad at me. I didn't even know if she knew that I was famous or not. I had started Avenged Sevenfold back in high school before she had left, but none of us thought we would ever make it as far as we did.
