Peter made a face, a look of dread crossed his face when Phoebe started roping him into coming to the Homecoming dance. “You see, I would go but… I don’t have a suit that fits me anymore, but Ned has a nice suit. So, he can be your date,” He spoke knowing it wouldn’t work, there was no way Phoebe would let him stay home. Unless he managed to get himself terribly sick, which he could try to pull off the day before the dance. He wasn’t sure if Phoebe would believe him, she tended to be able to see straight through him when he wasn’t being honest.
“Ow, Phoebes” He whined when he felt her fingers tug on his hair, “You can’t miss the dance. Faye would kill me if I let you miss Homecoming, you know she would.” He looked up at her, she would look so gorgeous in a nice dress with her hair curled. She was always beautiful, but Peter hadn’t seen her dressed up for a very long time.
“Both of you are going to Homecoming, every kid has to go.” May spoke as she walked back into the room, the sight before her didn’t surprise her. She often speaks to Faye about how much Peter adores Phoebe, and apparently Phoebe feels the same way although May promised Faye that she would never say anything about it. She hoped with Phoebe staying there for a while, those two would hurry up and start dating.
Faye looked at Steve, “I hope I can go see her. But they have kept me pretty busy so far, which Phoebe understands but that doesn’t make it any easier.” She told him honestly, she hoped she could see her little sister at least once every week. But right now, she wasn’t sure if that would happen, her tasks at work seem to constantly grow by the day.
Faye couldn’t help but smile when Steve agreed to explore the city with her, she has dated a few guys in the past but none of them come close to comparing to Steve. He certainly was different, in a great way. “Yes, please. I’m starving,” Standing up from the bench, she chuckled softly as she linked her arm with his.
Following him along the busy street, they headed towards the sandwich shop. Faye stepped inside first as Steve had held the door open for her, her light eyes scanned the menu board that was high above them on the back wall of the small shop. Thankfully they were the only customers, so Faye stepped up to the counter and ordered herself a sandwich with all her favourite fillings.
Stepping aside she gave Steve room at the counter if he wanted to order a sandwich for himself, “It’s nice in here.” She commented with a smile on her face, it was obvious it was a family run store which Faye loved.
