James took his time in the shower, making sure that he was satisfactory cleaned up before moving out. Afterwords, he did his hair and got dressed as he normally would. As he walked out into the bedroom, James sat down in the chair across from Blake and pulled his portion of breakfast closer to him. After lifting the top, he started to eat the steak and eggs that cook had made for him. "We are going to be heading into the city today. So you need to be on your best behavior." James told her. "I don't want you getting too much attention today, do you understand?" His voice was a lot softer and relaxed than usual. Though he still put emphasis on not wanting her to get attention.

Blake had just been finishing up her plate that consisted mostly of fruit and two small pancakes; nothing too fancy but still, it was better than the food that she was used to eating. It was usually oatmeal that may or may not have flavouring... if she was lucky. The fresh fruit was her favourite part. Perking up when James reappeared, Blake sat up and turned her attention to him. She set her mostly finished plate down, folding her hands in her lap on instinct alone. The past day hadn't changed much, not really. James nodded once Blake understood his instructions. It was important to him, more than usual. He did not want the others looking at her, talking about her, thinking about her. Once he had finished eating, James wiped his mouth off with the napkin before standing up. "I need to go grab some things from the office. Pick up anything you need for the day. And if there is anything else you need to do before we go, now would be the time." With that, James headed off. They were already running a bit later than he would have wanted, but there was no need to rush out of the door.

"Yes, sir," Blake spoke immediately, pushing to her feet the moment that James had dismissed her. She left the room, quietly heading down to her room where she grabbed her notebook and pencil. Blake lingered long enough to put her hair up into a tight bun, thinking that it would be best to be a bit more presentable than usual. She typically left her hair straightened and down, maybe pulled back a bit but James seemed to think that today was more important and Blake would treat it as such. Whether she was right or wrong, it didn't really matter.

Just like every other morning, Blake found herself standing at the front door. her head was bowed and her notebook clasped tightly to her side. When she heard James approach, Blake looked up briefly before looking back down. She assumed whatever closeness was gone, that it was just something that had happened because of what the other slave had done.

James headed to the front door, smiling when he saw that Blake was there. He was glad that she was ready to go. They still had a long drive ahead of them and James did not want to get to work too late. As he walked past her, James reached out and patted her head lightly before grabbing her hand and leading her outside with him. "You can relax for now, we still have a bit of a drive before we get there.

As per usual, the back door was opened for them both and James slid in, sitting down and relaxing against the cool leather. Within moments, the driver was in and pulling away from the mansion. James reached over to a button and pressed it, the tinted partiton moving up between them and the driver. With that completed, he leaned back and started to relax again. He had mixed feeling about what she was talking about. On one hand, James felt a little remorseful about her past, having constantly been on the run and ect. His heart went out to her, and being a constant target did not sound enjoyable to him.

However, his thoughts on humans and slavery did not changes. James still felt it best to continue to round them up and have them work in different areas of society. "Having to be on the run all of the time... It does not sound easy."
